Now - chasing. Get back here --- did you have a good evening?

Bryzoan · 27/09/2013 02:35

kyz - nonsense from your sister that you shouldn't comfort him when he is ill. I have had g in with me mostly while he has been poorly and now he is on the mend he is sleeping happily back in his cot. I would also offer more milk when he is ill, but not worry if he doesn't want it as long as he is having water / not dehydrated, I bf and know he has been having more - his solids have reduced too. Just go with it - he will bounce back. Hope he feels better soon.

Lily311 · 27/09/2013 03:12

ditsygem · 27/09/2013 07:58

Congratulations GT what lovely news to wake up to, can't believe you sped up so suddenly. I hope it all went really well and enjoy the NB cuddles. Thanks

well we looked after our Muscovy duck all night in the safety of our passage way to our garden - he cra**ed all over, and then this morning I let him back into the garden, went for a shower and when I came out he has gone! One call to cancel the RSPCA (who blooming well should have come a bit quicker) and I am really hoping he is ok and just found his way home this morning after a good nights rest. The allotments behind us really come alive in the morning with lots of cockerels calling etc so hopefully he belongs there and the noise helped him get back!

PetiteRaleuse · 27/09/2013 08:10

Talking of pictures, yw are you going to put up pictures of the pup?

Kirrin · 27/09/2013 08:26

Congratulations GT Grin Grin Thanks

Sophiathesnowfairy · 27/09/2013 08:27

Congrats gt what lovely news to get up to. Thanks we need the rest of the birth story now! Grin

O has gone quiet and I can hear rustling. Hmm

Is DD1 s birthday today. She is 9 and obviously with her dad. Had a long chat with her just now, she sounds so happy and bouncy I miss her loads. Sad she is wonderful.

ChasingDaisy · 27/09/2013 08:32

10 months ago I was being induced Smile

Last night was awesome. We talked non stop for three hours. About everything. Kids, marriage etc. He is scared of falling in love again as he has had his heart broken, I am trying to convince him to take a risk. I think he is weakening Wink He has also agreed to come out with me on Saturday night so we are going to get drunk together. He's mistaken if he thinks he will be ending the night without kissing me Grin

Strictly Come Dancing starts tonight, yay!

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 27/09/2013 08:35

Hey quiche, LOADS to catch up on. Massive high 5s all round to everyone but have been constructing a list of things to say as I have been catching up (will doubtless forget most of it though!)

Congratulations GT, thrilled for you. Look forward to a pic soon. Will you be assigned a letter again for his name?

Horsey, luis, meals, catbag lovely to hear from you guys again. Hope all well.

Bit late but fab news on the weight gain eliza!!!

ditsey hope he is ok - that was very kind to look after him.

sophia Happy Birthday to DD1. Hugs for you.
MM taking your Gran was a lovely thing to do.

donna - are you the next due date?

Hope the presentation went well in the end BPLP. I was presenting too yesterday, 4 hours' worth. My throat is so sore today Sad It's our work summer Hmm party tonight but not sure it will be quite the boozy affair I had planned. How is F today?

PR v nice to have PR back. Some weighty decisions I guess for you guys, sounds tough. But v nice to hear fighting talk.

kyz slow and steady is the way. DH has lost over a stone already and is a smug git. But I am losing too, but at a slower rate. I am trying to see this as a positive thing, weight loss by adopting the long term changes I need to stay healthy.

kirrin hope kirrinhorse continues to make progress. Hope your evening wasn't too bad xx

chasing Grin

fatima happy anniversary. It was ours at the start of the month, overwhelming sometimes to think about how much has happened since that date.

pidj congratulations and am so pleased that vvvDP's first day went so well!

stunt well done to J for going to sleep on his own. Sounds like you've made masses of improvement in a short space of time, it is inspiring. izzy, how are you getting on? Good news about the possibility of a nursery place after your op.

lily hope O's rash has calmed down.

Wedding abroad talk is interesting pikz and apple. We seriously considered Lindos in Rhodes. Stunning old greek town.

apple glad to hear you sounding better and hope you get on well at the GP apt.

bryzoan DD is a bit, um, territorial over her stuff too. She has actually shoved / pushed S a couple of times. Fortunately he is reasonably robust and adores her, so he's generally stoic about being on the receiving end.

misslaughalot words, how exciting. That must have been so nice to hear!

pass am sure your friend will understand. Hope so.

Having said that S was no where near self settling, DH informs me that on the days when he is at home with the DC, he pops S into the cot, awake, with his soft toy rocket and inevitably his fish slice which will not be relinquished under any voluntary circumstances, leaves the room, and S goes to sleep. Shock Shock Shock And DH mentioned this casually in passing. Shock Grin So maybe it is me stopping the self settling process, by thinking S can't do it when he can. Maybe I need to allow it to happen.

I have been v busy at work again, S's cough persists, he also has a runny nose which has been wiped so much he has a bleeding/scabby nostril, but he is his usual smiley happy self, standing and cruising loads, and still eating and drinking like a horse.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/09/2013 08:36

sophia it must be really hard living so far from your girls at times like that Flowers

Sophiathesnowfairy · 27/09/2013 08:57

Sure is pr . I can not wait till half term when they will be here. I can' twain to have the chaos and noise of four kids all together again!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 27/09/2013 08:58

*can't wait!

fruitpastilles · 27/09/2013 09:54

Have only just caught up after posting my congrats to gt and have forgotten most already!
Hi to horsey cat and luis nice to hear from you all Smile
Good to have you back as pr pr
kyz you know what is best for E not your sister, and if he needs a bit of handholding while he isn't feeling the best the do it, I'm sure once he is better he will go back to being able to settle himself.
Happy birthday to dd1 sophia must be hard not seeing the girls every day, especially on special days, fair play to you for doing what was hard for you but best for them!

So sorry for having forgotten so much!

pig is it your presentation today? If so good luck.

fruitpastilles · 27/09/2013 09:57

How is F this morning pig ?

Yay to J stunt for getting himself off to sleep last night Smile

TheDetective · 27/09/2013 11:17

Madame O has been self settling for a little while now. DP was still doing the bloody rocking/patting palarva though. It took me showing him O putting himself to sleep for him to actually believe me.

Chasing Grin He isn't getting away Grin. Not this time!!

Stunt Yay for J!!!!!!

Sophia Happy birthday to DD1 Cake

Hello to the wanderers! Cat Luis Horsey and anyone I might have probably missed!! Grin

Kyz and Madame well done on the weight loss! Still going well here. 2st 9.5lb lost here. Was slimmer of the month this month! Although no idea how as I haven't lost much!! Lost 3lb this week, after 2 weeks of STS. My pattern is 2 weeks STS, then 2 weeks of 2.5-3.5lb off. So averaging 6-7lb a month still, but just in an odd pattern! Go figure!

What a morning here. Haven't stopped. Am in work this afternoon, and quite simply, I don't have the bloody time!!! Do you think it will be okay if I just ring up and say 'sorry, I'm too busy today, won't be in'?! Grin

O has been on fine form Hmm too. Pulling the DVD's off the shelves - and then the actual shelves themselves. Fucking great. Pulled off the re-stuck on corner guards. Smeared breakfast all over the sofa. Pulled all his 'standing' toys over so they are all on their side - the sit to stand giraffe, the play table, the baby gym, the vtech walker. All pushed over. Surprised he hasn't pulled the highchair over again.

Then once I got O to sleep I've been running around like a demon trying to get the house clean as a) it is minging and b) it is fucking minging. I've ironed a massive pile of clothes for DS1 who is going away to a Scout camp tonight for the weekend. Got some SW things I need to cook so I have lunches/snacks in.

Got to get dressed and ready for work at some point too. Oh and I need to go to take the coat back I got DS1 yesterday and swap it for a bigger one. Which he needs for tonight.

I just hope DP pulls it all together tonight as he has to make sure DS1 has everything, and is organised and gets him to camp. DP is a bit too laid back about stuff though. Can see me racing up to the camp tomorrow with forgotten items no doubt. Hmm

Happy friday everyone!

GTbaby · 27/09/2013 11:20

Hello everyone. I knew there was loads of you lurking! Glad gtbaby2 has bought you out. Lol

Very tiered. Gt2 is just like his brother and being difficult when feeding. But no formula given. I have colostrum. And been expressing. He has latched on a couple times. But never for very long. Up to 5mins then falls asleep. But getting help from mw. And I'm more determined, so we will get there in the end.

Summary Birth story
I was 1cm at first check of the day. Then at 3pm was 3cm. Possibly 4cm but screamed so mw didn't get a proper feel. Using gas n air at this point. Hence the drugs don't work reference yesterday lol. But I guess the breathing gave me something to focus on. Also had an injection which let me sleep for a while, although doesn't stop the pain. Why do they call it pain relief? I was drowsily using GA as well.

Taken to labour ward, given epidural and waters broken. Contractions slowly down a bit. So were considering giving me the drip. Then at 7pm they checked me out. Surprised us all that I was ready! Specially as my contractions had been slowing.

So shift change over delayed pushing. I literally pushed through 4 contractions and he was out. Mw noticed distress in baby after 1st contraction then again in 2nd which really scared me. So pushed like crazy. I tore a bit. Stitches took ages. But I got lots of skin to skin. Which was brilliant.

When I sat up after birth got very head rushed. It's a horrid feeling of being out of control. Mw thinks because of high blood loss. Had the same getting into wheel chair.
Blood pressure and pulse both fine. Bloods have been taken for testing this morning. But I've been up to get breakfast. So I think in ok.

Very sore. Paracetamol dont help! So waiting for Dr to prescribe me something stronger.

Waiting for FH to turn up now. He is so slow! Procrastinating over everything. He walks around like he has loads to do. But doesn't do anything, just paces around the house.

Not quite a quick summary lol.

Donnadoon · 27/09/2013 11:29

Aww Well done GT....Enjoy your newborn snuggles
Madame I am due the 24th Feb,I think Mama po was due sometime before the end of this year ?

PetiteRaleuse · 27/09/2013 11:38

Well done gt - accept a transfusion if they offer one once your bloods are back, it's not scary, is painless and really helps you get your energy back. Just saying that as I had a friend who lost a lot of blood but through fear refused the offer of a transfusion and it took her ages to feel right again.

Rest up, enjoy those lovely newborn cuddles, and best of luck with the feeding. I have no advice on that of course, except have them check him immediately for tongue tie so that they can deal with it before you go home. Here both mine had their tongue tie snipped on day three, just before we left hospital.

Kirrin · 27/09/2013 11:45

I love the idea of S going to sleep cuddling a fish slice madame Grin

Happy birthday to DD1 sophia

Slimmer of the Month detective Well done. Do you get a certificate?

Glad all is well GT and that the bf is going ok. congratulations once again :)

ChasingDaisy · 27/09/2013 12:13

Well done GT Smile. You did fantastically well.

Detective I am struggling a bit since my O has become mobile but it is nothing compared to yours - I don't know how you cope Grin. How is work going?

In big news, I just made scrambled eggs for the first time ever and O is loving them! He is also showing signs of separation anxiety, which is perfect timing given that he is having his first ever night away from me tomorrow Hmm Good luck with that Arseweasel
