GT do not apologise you dafty! x

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2013 14:37

Geez GT you must be pissed off and bored of this labour already. Hope you get some proper pain relief soon and they speed things up a bit.

applepieinthesky · 26/09/2013 14:42

gt the hardest part sometimes is getting to 4cm. Once you make it to 4 it could happen quickly. Let us know once they have examined you again. Are you still on your own? Any chance of FH joining you?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/09/2013 15:31

Hugs gt. Make the most of the rest and being looked after my love. Xx

YellowWellies · 26/09/2013 16:13

GT it took me 18 hours to get to 4cm (and I was contracting every 2 mins for 16 of those hours thanks to him being mal presented) then in 2 hours I went from 4 to 10cm. Then 2 hours of pushing / ventouse and out he popped. The first few cm can be really slow but it will speed up later I'm sure.Take whatever's on offer to save your strength and get some sleep while your body does the work.

ditsygem · 26/09/2013 16:14

Hugs GT Just know you have so many of us cheering you on.

Chasing Did I miss something? when did you decide to just be friends? I would def go with skinny jeans and top - to be honest I wear skinny jeans as my lounge wear - i don't 'do' joggers etc so he won't know your dressing up for him, you could always dress like that!

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2013 16:47

I live in jeans.

News: we're thinking of moving, again. Various reasons, BUT would involve crossing the border to Luxembourg and giving up the nursery, my GP and next year putting DD1 into a Lux school. Which would mean adding a 3rd then 4th language to her little mind.

However the house would be twice as big, we'd get childcare vouchers and there are quite a few advantages financially in moving to Lux.

Gah. Dilemmas.

Pikz · 26/09/2013 16:48

GT rest. I have no advice but be nice to yourself.

Apple we are going to mauritus in May next year. We swapped from South Africa to the Maldives to mauritus. We have just come back from a scouting trip

applepieinthesky · 26/09/2013 17:05

pikz We went from Cuba to Cyprus to Portugal. We want to go to somewhere in the Indian Ocean for our honeymoon. While it will be lovely for family to be there when we marry we do want to get away for a while on our own afterwards. Fiji is the dream but not sure yet if our budget will stretch to it.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/09/2013 17:09

Will you still rent or buy pr?

ChasingDaisy · 26/09/2013 17:15

Just had a nightmare hour trying to make dinner, wash up and make Oscar's feeds whilst he clings to my legs, headbutts me and whinges constantly, resulting in burnt dinner and oil splatters on the outfit I had finally decided to wear tonight, so what I really needed was to log onto FB and see my stepmum moaning about the bottle of champagne that has just been brought to her room in hot and sunny Spain because she doesn't like champers....Angry This is on top of the dozens of updates about the weather and beach since they arrived last night. Apparently they 'need' 3 holidays a year because their lives are so stressful. They're retired and having lived with them for 3 months I see nothing stressful about their life.

Good. That feels better. Onwards.

ChasingDaisy · 26/09/2013 17:20

And I have just noticed that the leg clinging has resulted in ladders in my only decent pair of tights, which I was going to wear tonight. FFS. Angry

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2013 17:29

We'd rent sophia . Two reasons: one is that we aren't quite there financially to buy, but also we don't want to buy a house in this area. I'd rather save up and buy a forever home nearer the sea, rent it out if we can't live there yet then retire to it. Not sure where or even if this will be possible, but psychologically I will never be ready to put real roots down here.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/09/2013 17:30

I think then, chasing , circumstances have overtaken you and you much skinny jean it!

GTbaby · 26/09/2013 17:37

I have an epidural Grin it's one of those you control yourself.
Also the beds in labour ward are super cool. I'm sat like its a chair. Or rather a throne. Not a zig zag bed.
Not explaining it great.

Feeling very sleepy now. So rest time. Will prioritise telling you once my baby is here.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/09/2013 17:40

Good job gt. Thinking of you.

PurplePidjin · 26/09/2013 17:45

I wear one outfit a day, usually jeans plus fitted tee shirt. Converse fake supermarket ones cos i can't afford the real thing under boot cut, flat boots over skinnies. Cardi on if it's really cold, baby in sling keeps me cosy! So i would go for skinnies and cute top, and make like I'd had it on all day am debating leaving yoghurt splattered skinnies on for work tonight on the basis teenagers won't notice

GT you're doing amazingly well Thanks

We survived our first day alone with duck feeding, lunch in costa, an emergency walk to take daddy some lunch and rhyme time at the library. Vvvdp isn't half as tired after a full day in his nice new office as he was after 4 hours at Cunt Central, although is pretty damn tired, and I've rejigged our routine so R eats at 4:30 and we eat together later. He ate loads and wasn't rubbing it his eyes hardly at all, plus it means time for books before we come up for abath. Vvvdp gets in at the bath stage so has time for a quick play at R's happiest time :)

PR i would move. You both seem miserable in France Thanks

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2013 17:52

It would only be about 25km away from here, so still the same area despite being a different country. I live so close to the border that I do most of my errands in Luxembourg, my nearest town is there. I'm not sure psychologically it would make too much difference.

Well done GT you're doing really well. I was demanding a c section after 18 hours.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2013 17:54

Wow, LO just stood up for about a minute without holding on to anything. Was very wobbly but had a mahoosive grin on her little face :)

PurplePidjin · 26/09/2013 18:01

Yes, but all the things you like appear to be in Lux... To me it would make a difference even though it's "only" 25k iyswim

Today we have clapping, peekaboo from behind the bib and the thing where you move your finger up and down over your lips and it makes a sound like wibble wibble :o

Lily311 · 26/09/2013 18:10

gt I'm so exhausted, I just skim read but I'm waiting for your news.

pr would you be better financially living in Lux?

is it normal to have a rush with antibiotics? She was fine till lunch time and the rush is in her tummy. Not spots just rush. She is unbelievably grumpy and moody, I have not sat down today.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2013 18:12

I don't know. We'd have to learn the language, and I'd have to get basic German too as from about the age of 6 some school subjects are taught in German, some in French and some in Luxembourgish. It's a big hassle as far as education is concerned in fact.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/09/2013 18:15

Do you mean a rash lily ? Could be because antibiotics make them poo more so she's getting irritated? Or could be thrush? DD1 gets thrush with antibiotics :(

Probably better off financially in Lux yes. Not completely sure of the details. Will have to work it out.

It would really piss me off having to leave nursery though after all this settling in. Am not going to drive them here to nursery even though it's not too far away as the traffic is horrendous in the mornings and winters are horrible.

Tbh I'd find it a little hard to leave France. I love France, even this area in some ways. Tough I'd rather be living on the Breton coast. In a lighthouse.

Pikz · 26/09/2013 18:52

PP we get wobble wobble sound too.

Come on the baby GT

Have nicknamed L bambam he is covered in bruises and lumps

Lily311 · 26/09/2013 19:29

Sorry for typos. Since I upgraded the iPad it has its own mind. A rash on her tummy, not a rush in her tummy. She has nappy rash too which I know is normal.
