I hope you got some sleep GT. I can't believe this is the start of it now! You do realise you're giving all of us broody mummies a vicarious thrill. The second birth is easier than the first in that you know what to expect and you're familiar with the sensations. Remember you have a ton of women around the world sending you good wishes and good vibes for your labour. And we can't wait to see squishy newborn photos later on. The very best of luck to you and I hope everything goes smoothly. H is going to be a big brother soon - how awesome is that?

Gone from snoring lady to airplanes. Right under a flight path.
No ear plugs Hmm

Thanks stunt x and everyone actually.

Sry I'm not really replying to anyone and just making random comments. I suspect I'll get worse. I am reading your posts. But my brain is a bit blah already!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/09/2013 07:13

I'm here! Wow gt. Is anything actually happening? Or. Nothing?

Apart from the symphony of snorts and snoring rising up around you?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/09/2013 07:14

Oh, and Jaffa cakes constitute good labour nourishment if you ask me!

Pikz · 25/09/2013 07:18

Omg GT am sooooo excited for you and a little jealous!!

Have read everything but brain now blank due to GT excitement!!!

Big hugs and Brew to all

fruitpastilles · 25/09/2013 07:24

gt how exciting! Good luck. I'm also just a tad jealous now hehe.

kyz how lovely of your dp, I'd be so excited to try out the new wheels, I'm sad like that, when I got S's new pushchair the other week I was itchin for her to wake up from her nap so I could take her out in it.

I can't remember anything else Blush

S is having her bottle and keeps giving me the cutest little looks out of the corner of her eye. I love chilled morning when I know I don't have to rush around to get out.

Brockle · 25/09/2013 08:11

so exciting gt . I hope they don't expect me to do any work today Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/09/2013 08:56

Just checking in to see how you're getting on gt. Glad the pessary was ok. Hope you managed to get some sleep. Hospitals aren't the most restful of places!

GTbaby · 25/09/2013 09:00

I have had 3 tightenings. At totally random intervals.

FH has just woken up! A bit annoyed. But trying to be reasonable as he had to go tesco at 1am n I need him to be alert n awake and well rested to help me. And well nothing is happening yet.
I'm just being a lil precious.
I have a book to read. Art of breast feeding.
N I might have a nap.

GTbaby · 25/09/2013 09:26

Mw are so much nicer here. Ok so it's prob part of their job routine. But everyone has made a point of introducing themselves. Not just because they need to do something. But coming over just to say "hi im x, how you doing?"

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 25/09/2013 09:52

Glad you're being well cared for gt . I'm not jealous or broody but still very excited for the first quiche new arrival.

Re potty training. When DD1 was suffering from constipation it got really bad at one point and the paed suggested putting her on the potty just for poos as I could obviously see when it was happening (red face and tears) as the position of sitting on the potty is easier for the bowel movements than sitting in a corner. I ended up not following the advice as within days it improved, but there are advantages of learning early as far as that is concerned.

Just back from the psychologist. She has asked me to list all the things I like about myself. Hmm. Apart from my mac 'n' cheese is a gift from the gods it's a tough exercise.

Now the kids are at nursery I am really enjoying them more in the evenings and at the weekends. Partly because they are knackered so sleep better, but also because it's real quality time. I'm falling back in love with them. Didn't ever stop loving them but feel much better and calmer than when I was looking after them full time.

Dum di dum di dum dum da. Bored. Trying to avoid looking at the packet of malteasers. Still un opened.

Will be fine once FH has bought my laptop. I have dexter n game of thrones. Maybe I need more brain dead tv tho? I have entourage never really got into it. But it is brainless tv.
Dexter might scare me on my own in hospital woos

Jezz we havnt ordered the push chair. Although im under house arrest for 5weeks and I have a sling so will cope just fine.

MissMummy1 · 25/09/2013 10:57

I have been skim reading for days but not had a chance to post - argh! And now my mind has gone blank, so please accept my apologies if I don't mention you! You are not any less important to me, I just have a serious case of baby-brain....

GT OMG I cannot believe it is actually happening! I am ridiculously excited for you and jealous of you all at once. FX'd you'll be having lots of lovely newborn cuddles v v soon! Grin

I can't shake this broody feeling. It is really terrifying as I have never been baby minded. Everyone I know is having babeez. Envy I am actually willing DP to start behaving like a prick again so I can go off the idea of having more children. Confused But then, I look at M and Adog and my sensible head kicks in and I realise that I can only just keep on top of things ignores mounting washing pile as it is. Maybe when M is 4....

Fatima sounds awful. Here's hoping it's just a 24 hour bug and you're feeling lots better now!

Eliza I am DELIGHTED the weigh in was a success. Hoorah E!

Kyz what an utterly fabulous anniversary gift. Very jealous. I have been eyeing up yw's v2 nipper

Urrm, mind is blank. Brew Cake Thanks to everyone else.

I cannot quite believe how much M has grown up this week. She has mastered backwards crawling; is climbing everything; walking with one hand and soooooo close to properly crawling. She is also waving goodbye to people with a 'bye bye' - which she finds soooo funny it now is a wave with a giggle-baaa-giggle sound! We have daddy, rara (Laura) and woahwoahwoah (usually at the dog!) but still no mum Envy

MissMummy1 · 25/09/2013 10:58

Oh yeah, I couldn't help at giggle at P! M points and shouts at strangers Hmm

Kyz · 25/09/2013 11:00

Morning everyone

Got some sleep last night, only 7 wake ups which was about 10% of the night before so am pleased. Unfortunately he still won't eat anything. I'm not sure when to worry. He has drank most of his morning bottle both yesterday and today and all of his night time one taking about 15/16oz but then virtually nothing else bar water, oh and raisins. Yesterday I made athird bottle and gave that but he only took 2oz. So seems he really has very little appetite :( Still getting wet nappies and the odd dirty one.

Glad you had a good day at work yesterday kirrin

oh gt you do make me laugh! Glad everything is going ok, hope H can stay with your mum tonight so you don't have that to worry about. I'm sure he'll be fine though bless him :) No worries about random comments :) post whatever you need to whenever you need to! Glad pessary was ok :)

hope you got some sleep jj

Thanks fruit :) E has just woken from his nap so might take it out for a spin, it's so lovely, I can't wait to use it Blush

My second sister suffered badly with constipation and sat on her potty for about half an hour to watch sesame street every day from about 6 months on doctors advice. Never did her any harm and it was the only way she could go for a poo without it causing her to bleed. She used to be really sore, bless her.

woah pennie they are expensive nappies!

Am starting to worry about e's milk intake now. He has about 15/16oz, and whatever yoghurts and cheese i can get into him. He doesn't seem to like cheese unless melted/cooked. Do I need to get him some vitamin drops?

Hope FH gets your laptop to you soon gt :)

MissMummy1 · 25/09/2013 11:03

Oooh GT have you decided on a pram???

GTbaby · 25/09/2013 11:18

And penny I was also wondering how to make switch from formula to milk. Lo still drinks from a bottle. Uses a free flow sippy cup for water with food. But it's still a bit of a game for him.
So thinking milk will have to be via bottle to mk sure he gets enough.
Also he has alot of yogurt.

Anyway, do you mix milk with formula for taste. Shall I go cold turkey with the formula? He turns 1 in 2.5weeks. So should I start slowly now phasing it in?
Should I warm it up slightly? His formula is at variable temperatures.

Nice normal conv for me to focus on. Lol

FH is stressed. Just called him n he doesn't know if he is coming or going. Lol. Told him to calm down. Eat. Shower then come in. He has been super good recently. So deserves a break. And I'm kinda glad he is struggling. Blush So he knows how hard it is! I used to get it alot, all you gota do is feed him. Change him. That's not hard, but he has had him alone more recently and is realising its hard. And today he has had to get him and his stuff ready for my sis, something I've always done! And get stuff together for me.

His folks have gone out and left him to it.
We didn't know they had plans, so tbh very rude considering the circumstances. What if we were counting on them for child care?

My sis has picked up lo. So I know both my boys are ok now. Lol

Come on ladies. I'm bored.

GTbaby · 25/09/2013 11:29

Mm I had same thought about lo yesterday. He is really taking on a personality. And learning things. Waving is the new thing. Although he has stopped giving kisses. Need to work on that.
And his face when he looks in the mirror is so cute.
His cousin taught him how to play with one of his toys. You put a ball thro a hole and it comes out another side. As I watched I was thinking I'd never show him that as I didn't think he would get it. But he does! And loves it. So I think I need to set higher expectation when doing stuff with him now. Lol. Im going to become a Pushy parent!

GTbaby · 25/09/2013 11:36

Oh I'm going for oyster max in black

Was original choice. Then phil n ted promenade and another took my fancy. But then looked at them in RL and they are massive compared to oyster.
I think it will work for us for nxt year or so. Then can use it with a buggy board when lo is big enough.

Mw checked monitor and told me I'm contracting every 6/7mins. Only very short ones. And thinks it might be the start. Fx ppl fx!

They feel just a little bit stronger then the tightenings I've been have last few weeks. And a lil bit more painful.

Oooh I have just won a 3 course lunch for two at one of our fav restaurants!! Nice one. Do I wake DP to tell him?

StuntNun · 25/09/2013 12:55

MM if DH was up for it I'd be knocked up ASAP and I already have three + crippled dog + insane cat!

Yy to vitamin drops Kyz, the NHS advice is vitamins for all children under 5. My 10yo and 7yo still have vitamins as they aren't great eaters. I expect there to be a lot of revelations about vitamin D intake in the UK over the next few years.

I don't know if it's a social faux pas or not but I sent roses and an 'I love you' balloon to DH at work to cheer him up as he's been so down/stressed lately. Hopefully once the move is over we can relax a bit. You wouldn't think we were only going 200 yards down the road from the amount of work required.

Are people's LOs still using their Jumperoos? I was going to sell it but J seems to be quite happy in it at then moment watching CBeebies.

OP posts:
Lily311 · 25/09/2013 13:23

gt I would go cold turkey with formula. That's my plan.

And stunt not using jumperoo. I'm waiting till nov to sell it, hoping people will buy for Xmas.
