I have given up and am having a coffee. He is in bed but awake. Desperate to sleep though which is why I haven't gotten him up. He is sneezing alot and whimpering. No temp though. I hope the lack of other quiche members means you've all had a good night's sleep! especially izzy

Pikz · 24/09/2013 07:09

Waving at you Kyz, its hard why they sleep normally as it knocks you for six.

Ginger how long did it take LO to settle at nursery?

Izzy hope your night improved

Eliza that is awesome news

Kirrin glad for positive horse news and hope the nose is better.

Better night here 7-3-4.30-6 which is a huge improvement. Feeling a lot more positive thanks to dp and a cuddle and a smiling boy.

Now just to hope for better nursery!

fruitpastilles · 24/09/2013 07:10

I had a not so good night too, although not as bad as yours kyz is E still snuffly this morning? chasing was given some good advice for O's cold the other day maybe you could try it for E tonight, in case he's coming down with one. I can't remember what it was though Blush

S just wanted to play last night. I was not amused.

fruitpastilles · 24/09/2013 07:13

Cross posts pikz glad you had a better night and are feeling positive Smile

Kyz · 24/09/2013 07:30

you sound much more positive pikz really pleased you had a better night :)

sorry your night wasn't fab either fruit :( e is still snuffly this morning, clear snot streaming from his nose, bit of a cough. pretty low temperature though at 34.1 :/ not sure what to make of that! e had a cold or two last winter, so I remember dealing with it then but the tips passed on to chasing have helped jog my memory :) I will read over them again.

e is up now. playing and sneezing quite happily but will not drink. he had half his bottle. he keeps lying on the floor so I think he is still tired. and his farts smell rancid. yum!

fruitpastilles · 24/09/2013 07:35

Haha typical bloke farts then!

Pikz · 24/09/2013 08:02

Lolol at the bloke farts.

Fruit sounds like a rubbish night. Brew

Kyz he will be fine but it horrible whilst its going on.

Have managed to unpack! Woohoo. Order makes things right in my world. Such OCD!

Passmethecrisps · 24/09/2013 08:21

Morning!

I am so delighted eliza woohoo!

Oh dear. Just watching a toddler temper tantrum from one of our neighbours. He just knocked over the stone Loch Ness monster! Hmm. He now appears to be hiding behind my car. Fun times!

fruitpastilles · 24/09/2013 08:22

We have all that to look forward too!

fruitpastilles · 24/09/2013 08:22

Eliza that's fanbloodytastic!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

Hello everyone else Blush it's taken me an hour to catch up and have forgotten everything Blush

Will pop a pic up shortly :)

Thechick · 24/09/2013 08:38

Thanks for all the well wishes. I really appreciated it. The day was not as bad as I thought it would be. It was nice seeing everyone again and catching up on the gossip. My boss was lovely and basically said take as much time as I need to get back into things. It took me the whole day to get through my 2500 plus emails and I feel like I have no time to do anything but it was all okay.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/09/2013 08:40

Morning.

Remember pass they don't all tantrum. Much. Grin I can count on one hand how many DS1 has had and DD didn't have one till she was 4. I think that May have been her line tantrum. She sulks. We won't discuss DD1. Hmm

Good news about kirrinhorse kirrin I bet you are relieved.

Hope your day is better today pikz sounds like things are on the up.

Is a new day today. As MIL could not have boys on Thurs she is having them this morning so I can run my errands and clean upstairs. Can't go swimming as I have to stay in then for a stairs man.

Just pasted the below in by accident. Was going to remove but thought would be nice to share instead. Is lovely. I did it with blueberries and peaches and after blackberrying today I will try with blackberries and apples. And healthy. And gluten/lactose free!!!

Blueberry (or whatever fruit)crisp

4 cups of your chosen fruit.

For the crisp topping

1cup oats
1/2 cup unsalted pecans chopped up a bit
1/2 ground almonds
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup olive oil

Mix together all your crisp Ingredients
Put the fruit In 8 by 8 ish oven proof dish
Layer the crisp on the top

Bake at 180/200 for about 35 mins till fruit bubbles and top is beautifully golden brown

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/09/2013 08:42

Good news eliza I bet you feel relieved.

Am pleased your day went well chick but how many actual emails did you manage to get through! I just binned all mine in the end when I went back. Grin are you in again today?

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/09/2013 08:50

Thanks all. Such a relief.

Sorry to read of bad nights and poorly babies. I thought I was in for a bad un as after I posted that she woke she took an hour to settle back down. Calpol sorted it in the end. I will revert to the usual and blame teeth.

DD1 has become obsessed with ET. I can think of worse films to have on constantly but she's a bit young for it so the constant questions get wearing. At least I manage to watch the end now without blubbing like a baby.

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 24/09/2013 09:02

pikz we took it really slowly for LO, leaving her for 5, 10, 15 minutes the first few days. She does fullish days now (8.45 - 5) and has been there for a month. It took two weeks before she stopped crying the whole time (up to two hours) but after that it was leaps and bounds. She still cries when I leave her, but she eats and sleeps well there, which she wouldn't if she was unhappy. She goes and plays with the other children rather than sitting back and just watching, but still gets upset if something bothers her routine. For example a mum came in yesterday about 15 minutes before me and she was furious that it wasn't me, and when I arrived I found her stood against the glass wall watching the door, crying and pounding the glass :o Shouldn't laugh but it was quite comical - not distress, but a real angry tantrum. So, horrible first two weeks, but can't complain at how she has progressed since :)

Pikz · 24/09/2013 09:11

Thanks ginger. We are trying 10 mins today, he's napping now and I will take him when he wakes. I am so nervous.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/09/2013 09:35

pikz I am sure he will be fine. It is really heartbreaking and tbh can mess your head up a bit when you first leave them, wondering whether you have done the right thing, but they do settle eventually. Xxx

Lobster peeps. What is nice to serve with a lobster Thermidore?

Pikz · 24/09/2013 09:42

Thanks Sophia. Just dropped him.

Rice is good... Maybe flavour with saffron and peppers.

Kyz · 24/09/2013 10:34

Lol pass I've witnessed some awful tantrums over the years with my siblings but some of them barely tantrum at all. My second younger sister had heaps of tantrums and is the most placid young lady in the world now! Well, she's got fire in her when she needs it but she would never start an argument etc. my brother started as he meant to go on, still tantrums now at 15! Mind you I think that's normal. He's a good egg really. I waffle. I apologise. I tired.

Glad it wasn't too bad chick :)

Sounds yummy sophia!

I have put e down for a sleep and he is stirring after 20 mins. Bollocks.

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 24/09/2013 11:41

My brother as a toddler used to bang his head on the floor during a tantrum, repeatedly. Til there was a bump on his forehead most of the time. It was horrible to watch but no long term harm done.

Kyz · 24/09/2013 11:45

So did mine! He would hurl himself at a wall and slide down it banging his fists too. And he could go rigid and blue at the drop of a hat! Thankfully as my mums fourth she knew how to handle him. Little beggar.

Kyz · 24/09/2013 13:44

Very quiet here today. I am trying to stay awake. Am crap.

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 24/09/2013 13:47

You're not crap kyz don't be so hard on yourself.

ChasingDaisy · 24/09/2013 13:48
