Aaw thanks kyz I didn't expect to see anyone else til morning!

YellowWellies · 18/09/2013 02:07

Izzy awesome!!!!

JJ our routine starts at 7 and he's in bed by 8.30 too. Any earlier and DH would barely see him. Also that means he starts the day at a civilised hour (usually 8 something, sometimes 9 but never before 7).

Bryzoan · 18/09/2013 02:21

Well done izzy and j!

Second wake up here - didn't post at 11.30 but am rectifying now so you can see you're not alone izzy. G isn't on great form at the moment but when he is we will be following in your footsteps I think (gulp). I empathise re the snoring. G sleeps in what was our spare bedroom - and my sanctuary when dh snowed. I currently end up sleeping in here quite a bit which won't work with the sleep training. I love our house but I do wish we had another bedroom.

StuntNun · 18/09/2013 03:13

It's hard work Izzy but I'm sure it feels good to have a plan and be in control of the situation rather than just reacting to each wake up. We're on our first wake up of the night here, two weeks ago that would have been my fondest hope. Now we've had one sleep through so that's my incentive to keep trying to have another sleep through. It can be hard to get my J to eat enough but when he gets more solids I find he sleeps better at night.

And he's back to sleep again. It took him a few minutes to settle but going from my nice warm bed to his cold cot was not a welcome change apparently!

Go izzy, go. Hope it all went well.

O had a nightmare/ night terror. She was hysterical and was asleep. She had a disturbed night, cried up a couple of times but didn't need to go in. I'm tired though.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 04:50

Another wake up here, he slept 3hrs 30 mins. That's the longest in a chunk he's done for a long long time! Bar a random 5.5hrs a few weeks ago! He was crying hard but I've popped in said my phrase and left the room and he fell silent almost immediately! He has unfortunately started crying a bit again so I'm popping in for another reassurance just now before a ten minute wait.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 04:53

Have popped in again and set my timer for ten mins..... Silent almost immediately after saying the phrase.
He's making small shouty cries just now every once in a while.

Meant to say I appreciate seeing a few names appear at this hour. Thanks!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 05:00

Just under 2 mins until next check in then gap will be 15 mins. He's still crying and shouting but it's morw grizzly now like he's trying to fall back asleep as opposed to the hystericalness of earlier tonight!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 05:02

Onto 15min check in. I haven't made it this far tonight so far. It sounds like things may change this. He's getting angry Sad Sad Sad

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 05:09

About 8 minutes til allowed check in. He's been quiet for about 5 maybe. I will try get to sleep after this 15 minutes is done. No point trying earlier as I have timer set and don't want to lose track of time!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 05:14

3 minutes til I can sleep........

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 05:17

Right bed for me.......

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 05:27

Argh DD just woke up shouting too! I'm back in bed again but I've been up 45 mins now and I'm hungry!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 05:50

Oh dear.... Angry angry wake up!! It's been 40mins he's been sleeping so have reset back to 5 mins. Thinking I may end up bringing him in ad it's only 2hours til morning now anyway?!

Pikz · 18/09/2013 06:14

Izzy I am off timings as away but you have done an incredible job for a first night and he's already doing bigger chunks right. Massive hugs xxx

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 18/09/2013 06:29

izzy well done for last night. Fingers crossed this is the start of something good!

StuntNun · 18/09/2013 07:26

You've done incredibly well Izzy! Smile Do you think last night was better than average? Now you have given J a model for future nights it should get easier tonight. A lot of people see a huge improvement in three days of sleep training because babies don't have the habits of years to overcome so they adapt very quickly to change. I wonder if improvement in J's sleep will also help your DD's sleep because there will be less disruption in the evenings and you'll have more time for her if you're needed. I think you need to treat yourself today to celebrate.

We had an okay night here, J technically went from 8:15-3, 3:30-still asleep now but there were lots of little crying spells in the night. But that top front tooth still hasn't quite popped through yet even though you can see it through the gum so I think he's having pain spells. He was eating a crispbread on Monday and his gum was bleeding the poor little thing.

DH is back from American tomorrow first thing so I'll have to finish tidying up the house so I can pretend it's been like that all along and buy something nice for tomorrow's lunch. I have put on a couple of pounds what with all the stress recently so I desperately need to get back on track with my diet. Also I have sling group today, I'm hoping to borrow a ring sling for taking the dog for a walk (she's crippled so she can't walk further than about 100 yards) or for popping into the shop from the car. I'm fed up with the Quinny Buzz - it's huge, heavy and a pain to unfold.

Brew you did brilliantly :o

Lily hope O is ok?

Bryz as Stunt, Izzy and i have proved i think? is that when they're ready it works.

After his mammoth 10:30-11:30 wake, R slept through till 5:45. :o

Elizadoesdolittle · 18/09/2013 09:01

izzy you did so well. Am very much hoping tonight will be easier. Sounds like you need some Brew

BigPigLittlePig · 18/09/2013 09:30

I logged on so eagerly this morning to see what unfolded in the buzzy household - wahoo! Successes by the sounds of it. F often wakes up for a few minutes and moos to herself then falls back asleep again.

No new spots this morning, thank goodness. Just waiting for the painkillers to work before attempting breakfast.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 09:42

Morning,

We had 2hrs30 mins from 9.30pm so earliest bedtime ever. Then 3hrs 30 from 1.15am then 38 minutes from 5.10am and at 6am I gave up and brought him into my bed where he slept til 8.30am (as did DD who came in around 5.45am I think). So two kiddies in bed with me, I chucked Dh into DDs bed when I reduced James from the cot!

stunt that's a better than average night. IF we get him into the cot at all then it's for 30 mins, then 1hr then 1hr30 then he ends up with us. Sometimes he'd do 2hours but not very often.

I know it was first night but even with the crying I thought it was doable. He did cry really hard and loud but it was just a pissed off angry cry. Not a refluxy pain one.

And in bed sleeping from 9.30pm?! Wow! Fingers crossed it goes on tonight too!

My sis is coming round after work to help me package stuff and price stuff for rock a buy baby and kids market this weekend. Anyone any tips on pricing, what kind of bundles to do??

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 09:43

FIRST LOL OF SLEEPING WAS ACTUALLY 2HRS56 MKNUTES NOT 2HR30

izzybizzybuzzybees · 18/09/2013 09:43

Argh don't know what's with the capital letters and typos!

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 18/09/2013 10:06

Well done IZZY that is progress. Best of luck for tonight.

JJ and YW (?) Bedtime is late here too. LO goes down at about half past 8 and DD1 around 9.30, though that is an improvement on half past 10. DH rarely gets home before 8pm and rushes out the house about 7 so only briefly sees LO then.

I have switched my PC on for the first time in months and written an article. I am also going to upload and get printed photos etc for the first time in a year...

Switching on the PC when DD1 is around is a recipe for disaster as I won't be able to get anything done. This is my first full morning at home on my own with no children no appointments and noerrands to run. It's great. I need this time on my own so much right now.
