Yep, we're deffinately in the 4 month spurt club! Waking every 2.5 hours on the dot for food Hmm

peardrop2 · 29/09/2013 08:03

Actually it's more like every 3 hrs as I haven't included rocking time into the equation!

FrussoHathor · 29/09/2013 12:56

That sounds about average pear what is it with these growth spurts?
Oh and a pharmacy sold me ibruprofin gel without asking if I was Breastfeeding. Confused even more confusing is the pack sad nothing about speaking to gp if bf. pg yes, bf no. Either way its starting to get to work on my back.

Ds has finally stopped screaming.
But his belly is now full of baby porridge with a banana and summer fruits compote, pink mush/purée Wink with a pint boob of gold top milk to wash it down. Grin and an after dinner gum massage calgel and a warm milkachino other boob to finish. Grin
can you tell I haven't had much adult company for a while
Maybe he might actually go to sleep and stop whinging and moaning now.

Calf stayed in his bed even after he woke up! He was there for 10 hours until I went in! However, I think we might be dropping afternoon naps. He's been up there since 2.30 just running around, jumping, banging on the radiator...

bringonthetrumpets · 29/09/2013 17:31

OOOooh agnu, my heart goes out to you as you drop that afternoon nap. It's a very unfair milestone for parents to reach.

Frus, ibuprofen is fine for breastfeeding, just unsafe when pregnant due to blood-thinning properties. Glad it's working for you!! Sounds like baby frus had a very gourmet dinner!

Sorry to hear about your night pear. Hope he sleeps tonight for you!

Lib, been thinking about you. How are you, dear friend?

I'm typing one-handed as I just can't seem to put my coffee down! Hmm M is getting some of the caffeinated variety milk today Grin.

peardrop2 · 29/09/2013 18:07

Thanks bring. I think this is it for us though for this week. I'm sure it will all change next week!

Frus ~ that's one hungry boy! I can barely get one spoon full into baby pear!

So I went to TKMax. They only have 2.5 Togg. I brought the grow bag 0-6 months which it's perfectly but I guess not for long! My room is currently 21oC but the grobag feels so much thinner then the one he wore last night. I don't know what is best to do :-/

kittykatsforever · 29/09/2013 19:04

Pear kittens room is 21 at the mo and she's in a sleep suit and 2.5 tog. The temperature can drop quite abit at night and I don't know about you but I'm sleeping under a big douvet, he should be fine, if your worried he will be to warm just go for a vest with it and don't have your heating on, the temp will dip quite abit!
Dds did the old tag team to me last night so I basically was awake from 4 Hmm
Hope calf keeps them abit longer Agnu, dd1 is know where ne'er ready to loose hers yet, she looks like the walking dead by 2 and would have 3 hours if I let her, she loves her sleep that one, in other news bought dd1 a gro clock that tells her when to stay into bed til as she's quite good at staying in bed longer so I'm hopeful it will work, will pick it up tomoz hopefully and let you know do you think I could get away with 10 o'clock?

FrussoHathor · 29/09/2013 19:58

kitty I think you might get til 9o'clock before she comes to tell you it's broken. Grin

bring coffee is good. Just not after 3ish or they seem to have caffeine fuelled nights.
I'm glad you said that about the ibruprofin. Boots pharmacy wouldn't sell it to me because I was breastfeeding so clearly I went else where

pear he scoffed the lot. Although I did feel guilty about possibly over feeding him. But he was leaning forward and chomping at the spoon.
I agree that it does get much colder at night. Baby frus tries to nick my dovet (super lightweight) in the middle of the night, so I snuggle him with a tiny corner of the dovet cover where the dovet isn't in it over his legs til he's asleep and then push him back onto his cot and put his own blankets over him.

agnu is a gnu like a Cebu?

peardrop2 · 29/09/2013 20:45

Oh Frus it's great that he's not fussing over weaning, must make it much more enjoyable and worthwhile. I think it's going to take us a lot longer. He's not even swallowing mouthfuls yet but I will persevere Smile

Thanks for all the sleeping bag advice! I've gone for a long sleeve vest and 2.5 tog. Although I haven't been able to do one of the poppers under the arms but I don't feel its necessary any. His head is going nowhere and I understand that's all that matters! Sooo snug. I want one Grin

FrussoNeedsMoreSleep · 29/09/2013 20:59

pear baby frus doesn't always swallow, sometimes he just blows raspberries. I find he finds swallowing easier if the purée is thicker.

Lorelei353 · 29/09/2013 21:12

pear were using a sleep suit and 2.5 tog sleeping bag too. Temp does drop at night a bit but he seems cosy but not too hot.

So, weird an interesting weekend visiting my in laws in Somerset. DS got totally over stimulated after drive down (during which he CIO to sleep when we got stuck in traffic and there was nothing I could do to help him. So, so hard to watch) and then everyone holding him and talking to him. He howled crying trying to get to sleep. Sad

Interestingly though he slept really well that night in the hotel's travel cot. I think he loved having all that space around him. He's still in a small crib st home although the cot is on the way. He didn't sleep as well last night though, up every 2 hours.

peardrop2 · 29/09/2013 22:30

Thanks for sharing Lor. Good to hear what others are doing!

I am already regretting going the vest only option. He's clearly not enjoying the feel of his feet against the growbag as he was extra squirming settling tonight and his arms feel cold Hmm

FrussoNeedsMoreSleep · 29/09/2013 22:54

Do you have any long sleeve vests pear?

AGnu · 29/09/2013 23:18

Frus I love Veggietales! Grin It's really weird that you posted that today - that video comes from the Jericho VT DVD & I was doing the story of Jericho in Sunday school for the pre-school group at church today! At the end we were discussing what they wanted to pray for & one kid said they'd like to pray for the people in Jericho... Hmm Not quite the point of the story! We had fun marching round a cardboard box wall & knocking it down though! Then we sang 'Brother Noah had an ark' to the tune of Old MacDonald... One child insisted on dinosaurs! Never a dull moment in our Sunday school! Grin

A gnu is a wildebeest.

AGnu · 29/09/2013 23:25
is my favourite 'silly song' or maybe ... No, wait... Maybe ... Eep! Too many to choose from! & I've been eating toblerone & hot chocolate & may be a little over excitable from all the sugar! Grin
peardrop2 · 30/09/2013 02:31

Frus ~ yes he's in a long sleeve vest

Mmmmm Toblerone Smile

bringonthetrumpets · 30/09/2013 04:10

I must be the only one who's not that into Toblerone.... Hmm I'm more of a Green and Black's dark chocolate kinda gal.

M is so cute in the Ergo carrier when we go hiking. She just stares up at the trees and sucks on her bottom lip with her cute little white sunhat on. Ahhh, melts my heart.

Poor baby Lor! It's tough when they get over-stimulated and you're trying to settle them back down!

Anyway, warm and cozy nights to all of you!

FrussoNeedsMoreSleep · 30/09/2013 06:07

Wow! agnu only met 2 other people who know veggietales! The first was the person who introduced me. And the second was random plumber.
The peas are in the Jericho one aren't they?

The hairbrush song and the belly button song are classics. Pure genius. I like this one. but this one is rather catchy

I fact I could probably say that about all of them. There are too many to pick.

bringonthetrumpets · 30/09/2013 14:16

My favorite the only one I know of is The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything.

bringonthetrumpets · 30/09/2013 14:55

Bad mum alert:
M accidentally slept in a poopy nappy all night. I had no idea that she'd pooped! Then she slept a full 12 hrs (the first time in who knows how long) so I definitely didn't think to wake her up.... oh the poor thing's got a giant rash. She's slathered in rash cream after a shower with dad. Oh man.

AGnu · 30/09/2013 16:37

Aww poor M! Calf's done that numerous times. I swear he just waits for us to tuck him up & leave the room before filling his nappy! Hmm Luckily he's not prone to nappy rash though unless he's teething. Not pleasant having to scrape off the dried on poo though!

I should introduce Calf to more veggietales. He's seen the David & Goliath one once & occasionally will come out with: "Day-bid. Fall down. Mmmm. Saaaaad." Makes me laugh! Unfortunately, the room we have the tv in is currently DH's workshop until we get Calf's kitchen finished! Can't really have him up there until there's not saws & other assorted pointy things scattered around!

FrussoNeedsMoreSleep · 30/09/2013 17:25

Ooh bring that's the only one that seems to have made it to main stream tv over here.

bringonthetrumpets · 30/09/2013 20:26

M is super prone for rashes. First one out of 3! I even had to pack away and sell off most of her cloth nappies as no matter what type of laundry detergent or type of nappy I used, she would end up with a rash. Now we're in sposies and she's been rash-free up until this morning with the poo incident.
