Agnu did he sell his brother? Confused I have songs in my head now I've made a connection, but is it the right one Hmm

Pear you can have one of mine. I appear to have fed on the wrong side, and didn't realise until baby frus was well and truly limpet latched on. so my right is going to explode at about 4am.

I'm still awake. Ds is fast asleep. I'm frustrated and a little bit angry with dds school. Dds hearing aid fell down the loo at school. Have a couple of analogies to illustrate what happened.
a) if your DC wore glasses to see, and was extremely shortsighted, (can't see a thing without them) school has the only (current prescription) spare pair, glasses get broken, would you expect school to give DC the spare pair to wear? The optician is closed til Monday.
b) if you drop your phone down the loo. Would you be more worried about disinfecting it, or drying it out? Would you seal it up in a plastic bag as it was? Or take it apart and attempt to dry out the parts?
I am seriously not a happy bunny. Angry

On the plus side, the painkillers appear to have kicked in for my back pain.

I'm still awake, but on the plus side ds stirred enough for me to forcefeed him before I burst. He is currently talking, hitting and blowing raspberries at it.

Frus Hmm if it makes you feel better I've had a terrible night rocking not on my own I should add Babies!

kittykatsforever · 28/09/2013 08:35

Oh these naughty gemini bus babies Hmm, pear the reason I've just done some sleep training is because while I was ok giving her the one feed a night til she was eating more she started regressing earlier and instead of 4 started waking up at 11/12 then 3/4 , that's when I freaked out decided no that's enough, plus then she wasn't hungry in the day, she did really well the night before but last night it was 2:30,3:30,5:15 ugh she didn't even really cry just winged but ofcourse enough to wake me up I fed her at 5:15 more so for me as I stupidly didn't express the boob she didn't take at 7 as I have guests and it was rock hard and uncomfortable all night then, by 5 I'd had enough of leakage Hmm

kittykatsforever · 28/09/2013 08:37

Frus, does she not have a spare set then?

peardrop2 · 28/09/2013 09:37

Kitty ~ sadly I can't do sleep training because he has silent reflux. I'm only rocking him to get the stubborn wind out. If it was just to soothe him I would let him be. I also need him to be asleep to be able to flip him from me onto his tummy otherwise he wakes up and we're back to square one with leg crunches and screaming Hmm Baby pear only wakes up when he's hungry unless he's teething which happened earlier on in the week. I think it's a combination of teething/injections that have made him wake earlier for food and once he gets into the habit I don't know how to break it Hmm The 3am & 6 am wake up was so much easier to deal with! Now it's 10:30pm, 1:30, 5 & 7am. Harsh Shock

I am wondering if he's cold as I can only put a light blanket on him otherwise he's cold. I may try putting him in that really long grow-bag I have tonight after his bath as the top part fits him.

peardrop2 · 28/09/2013 09:39

Sorry that last bit I wrote makes no sense Grin I can only put a light blanket on him otherwise he wakes up!

peardrop2 · 28/09/2013 12:05

I've requested DH brings home comfort food. Chicken nuggets, peas and potato waffles or pizza. I need it!! I would request chocolate but it turns baby pears tummy upside down Hmm

FrussoHathor · 28/09/2013 12:22

Yeah pear try the bag if the top bit fits.

kitty spare set is at school. Hmm I have a dodgy spare at home. But it doesn't always work properly.

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 28/09/2013 13:28

Frus ~ do you have to pay or is it free on the NHS?

FrussoHathor · 28/09/2013 13:50

Hearing aids and HA batteries are free in the uk. But audiology is closed until Monday. If the school had told me when I happened I could have ordered a new one which would have reached me by Monday morning.
I'm just miffed that they didn't put her spare on her. She is profound in the other ear so can't hear anything at all without it.

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 28/09/2013 17:08

Oh I see. How annoying, that's really frustrating for you Hmm

Bring ~ what's your take on over feeding? Is it possible to over feed? I've been told off by doctors for allowing baby pear to feed every 2 hours Hmm I often stretch it to 3 hours but sometimes he just can't wait!

bringonthetrumpets · 28/09/2013 17:54

If a baby pear is hungry, feed the poor thing. Who are these "health" care providers around you? Hmm I think it may be different with babies who are strictly bottle-fed as the milk is sort of just poured down their throats and many times we encourage them to finish the bottles, whereas breastfed babies have to work for the milk to come down so they can self-regulate. I'm totally guilty for trying the breast first when M was younger before other soothing methods so it could be done, I suppose. Every 2 hours is still really normal at this age, keep doing what you're doing. You've got a healthy little guy, no need to change if he's telling you he's hungry.

Holy buckets Frus what a f'ing mess! I'm sending you cyber hugs b/c that's got to be insanely frustrating!!

I'm all about the comfort food. Grin Mmmmm, chicken nuggets!

kittykatsforever · 28/09/2013 19:08

I'm afraid for me a nuggets no good without chips Wink
Yes pear defiantly try the grow bag, it can get chilly in the night and would defiantly be a cause to stir them
Frus, didn't realise they had a spare and didn't use them Confused how stupid and actually not just inconsiderate but also neglectful to her, imagine how horrible it would be for her and they had a spare set, can't imagine what they were thinking but definatly a strong word!

peardrop2 · 28/09/2013 20:26

Does anyone want a good laugh? I've been a complete idiot in the kitchen! Long story short...I haven't got a suitable container to blend my weaning food in. A lady in a shop this week suggested I used a non stick pan. So I've spent forever peeling & steaming a butternut squash today whilst entertaining baby pear. I've just blended it in the pan and it looks great, apart from all the black bits that have come off the bottom of the pan ConfusedHmmShock I've tried fishing them out but it's no good Blush I'm taking a trip to TKMax and buying a new & easy blender to use tomorrow!

On a brighter note. DH has managed to put baby pear down in his grow bag. It's 2.5 tog so I am a little nervous he will overheat but I'm sure it will be fine? The room is 23oC. Maybe I need to buy a 1.5 tog tomorrow!

FrussoHathor · 28/09/2013 20:50

Very frustrating. Hmm Luckily at home I me and dd can sign, and she can lip read me, but it also means that we can't go out anywhere as she has to be facing me.
But they commented that her behaviour wasn't very good. Hmm I wonder why [sarcastic emoticon].

pear how do you feel about feeding every 2 hours? Is it 2 hours from start of feed to start of next or end of 1st to start of next?
I would only do what you want to in terms of stretching out time between feeds, and only trust a qualified lactation consultant. But then I don't believe you can over feed a Breastfed baby. And if he was over feeding you'd be seeing is weight going up quite steeply through the percentiles. Of is weight gain is steady, and following a percentile then he's getting the right amount.

Sometimes they are just thirsty. Sometimes hungry. Also did you say baby pear had silent reflux? Because that would make him want to eat little and often. dd1 had silent reflux, and ate frequently, but she would do about 5-10 mins every 1.5hrs (she was very efficient) but her weight gain was abismal. She's still skinny now.

Frus ~ 2 hours is start of feed to start of next feed. I am getting better about pushing him to 3-3.5 hours. I do feel it is a good thing to push him when it's right for him as he seems to sleep better for it.

Yes, I'm planning to have a look at sleep bags tomorrow at TKMAX.

AGnu · 29/09/2013 01:02

Yes, Frus. I'm v impressed with your biblical knowledge! Grin Hopefully there'll be no brother-selling going on in our family though!

We converted Calf's cot-bed into a toddler bed in time for his nap today. Actually, we made his nap 2 hours late faffing about with putting latches on drawers! He then spent the next 1.5hrs running round his tiny room like a wild animal before eventually falling asleep on the bed! When DH went in to get him up he tried to stand up like he would've in his cot & promptly toppled backwards! I was just waking up from my nap & just heard a loud thud! All ok after a few minutes though & we haven't heard a peep out of him since we put him down tonight! Hopefully when he wakes in the morning he'll discover the one latch-less drawer full of toys & books so he can entertain himself for a little while!

Runt is definitely in the 4 month spurt phase. He fed at 11, 3 & 5 last night! I made DH get up & get him formula at 5! I love formula. His feeding is very variable atm. Yesterday he had 2 30min feeds in the morning but today he's not fed longer than 15mins at a time, but woke more frequently last night & has already had one extra feed tonight! I hate it when we've just got settled into a nice routine & it all changes again!

FrussoHathor · 29/09/2013 05:50

Good luck with calf agnu I hope he's stayed in his bed all night.
What is going on with these babies? Baby frus can't decide whether to drop a feed or not. And I have now gained a random 5.30 one. I don't know if it's an early 6am or a late one.
Either way I have double swimming pool.
Oh and why are nappies not made for belly sleeping boys?
What can I pad it with to get him through the night, or maybe I could try backwards. Hmm

agnu I have to admit it's less biblical knowledge and more musical knowledge.
