It's totally reasonable to feel that way! Not stupid at all. My mom has seen my daughter 3 times since her birth and she only lives 30 minutes drive away from us and really doesn't pay any attention to my older two boys either. I had to ask beg them to come to see me when ds2 was a newborn and the same with dd. I'm suspecting that by the time my younger siblings start having children my mother will want to be nan of the year and it makes me really sad that my parents don't really want to see my children while they are young. I absolutely understand where you're coming from lor

FrussoHathor · 26/09/2013 16:20

I have the same with my dm. dnephew is always there, despite living further away and always prioritised over my dcs.

Hmm. I have a sad teething bubba. Who oddly will now only nap in his/my bed or in the car seat when we're out --as long as the car/buggy is moving. He won't nap downstairs or on me. This is good right?

My family are interested in ds - they hang on every photo and video i send - but I guess it just feels a bit like ds' thunder has been stolen before my siblings have even met him!

FrussoHathor · 27/09/2013 07:19

2 til 7 oh yeah oh yeah.
Did have major milk leakage. I could have drowned. Okay maybe a small exaggeration. but who cares. I had 4 hours sleep in a row (b/c I woke at 6 when I nearly drowned) woo!

kittykatsforever · 27/09/2013 08:54

Well done baby frus!! Was it because he was on his tummy? The first few nights they sleep better is like a double edged sword, your happy because they slept better but your dam boobs wake you up Confused I don't know how you've functioned on so little sleep with 3 dc frus < shakes head in wonderment>
Kitten woke at 5 with the start of a cry but I just went in flipped her back on her tummy and said shus sleepy time and she went straight back off til 6, result! I not going to get to smug yet as things always throw spammers in the works but it was the first night in along time with no feeds and no crying I'm having guests for the wkend so I'm really hoping she's as good for that just so I don't disturb them
Lor in sure it won't work that way when they don't get to see him very often, to them he still is the new baby they've not had to meet and with abit of age comes the interaction so smiles and talking to them, they will be smitten with him I'm sure, I do understand though as kitten is number 4 for my parents so the " novelty" has worn off to a degree but they always bring them around, my mum admitted she wondered would she love my dd1 as much as dnephew as he lived with them for abit and is adorable but she is so different and LOVES her nana so much ( that squeeling of joy when she sees her to a running cuddle) that ofcourse she loves her to bits then Dneice came along and has pushed her way in to get the lime light by being so bossy and demanding that she's not ignored so they each have there own unique loveable qualities! X

Caffeine kitty Grin and after 7-8yrs of no sleep you kind of get used to it.
But he was between his side and his belly,

Yay Frus Grin don't you feel so much more alive?

I'm really struggling with the lack of sleep this week Hmm It's like my body is slowly giving up! Yet again it's going to be a major struggle to get to the baby class this morning :-/ I've decided I'm not going to sign up to anymore baby classes from Jan-April. Unless his sleeping improves during the day!

FrussoHathor · 27/09/2013 10:32

I do a bit pear also helped by not actually doing anything the past couple of days too.

bringonthetrumpets · 27/09/2013 14:55

Yay for more sleep and here's to hoping your boobies will sort themselves out so you can get more sleep without sleeping in a milk pool Wink

It's so bizarre outside. SUPER super cloudy and dark but it's still 80 degrees (at 9 am)....I feel a storm brewing....

Hmm
FrussoHathor · 27/09/2013 19:03

Any storm yet bring?

bringonthetrumpets · 27/09/2013 19:57

We have a big line heading eastward. Should hit us by tonight. Fun stuff.

Poor M. Everyone we saw today thought she was a he all b/c she was wearing a black and white polka dots today Sad. Do boys even wear black and white polka dots?

bringonthetrumpets · 27/09/2013 19:59

In other news: ds2's feet smell like roadkill. and he wants to cuddle

FrussoHathor · 27/09/2013 20:19

Stinky feet. Eew.
I don't know any boys that wear polka dots. Poor m.
I'm sure people do it deliberately. Dd2 was dressed in pink in a bright pink buggy optic framboise to be precise and she was still called a he. Hmm
I think green(buggy) must be a boys colour, because everyone presumes he's a he, even when dressed in a white sleepsuit.

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 27/09/2013 20:29

Hah hah. Baby pear was dressed in a blue baby-grow and was called a she the other day :-) I think it's got a lot to do with hair. My baby doesn't have much of it and I think it makes it harder to guess when there is no hair!

I'm naughty for saying this but...I met a 10 week baby girl this morning who is apparently sleeping through the night and has always taken a dummy from day one. I couldn't help but think yeah that's great but she's kind of ugly and looks like a boy Blush I'm bad aren't I Shock

bringonthetrumpets · 27/09/2013 21:18

PML! Pear! I think I love you Grin

Yeah poor M. Or poor boys. People always say once they find out she's a girl and not a boy "Oh you finally got your girl!" Like I have 15 boys and finally after all of that I've finally managed to gestate a baby girl. Honestly people! Hmm

kittykatsforever · 27/09/2013 21:37

GrinGrinGrin At pear,
Bring if any child looks boyish it's kitten so I feel your pain lol

kittykatsforever · 27/09/2013 21:40

And pear, she may be sleeping now but that 4 month stretch of hell growth spurt hasn't hit yet plus when they can't get rid of the dummy and her teeth are funny you can smile smugly Wink

AGnu · 27/09/2013 22:01

With Calf we were told he was 'too beautiful to be a boy'... I think it was supposed to be a compliment! Poor Runt has people assuming he's a she because of his name. Even the health visitor got confused & pronounced it wrong - she imagined a 'y' sound after the first letter. You'd think a health visitor would have enough sense to ask "and who's this?" rather than "how's Runt today?" if they weren't 100% sure of the pronunciation! I remember thinking that I must've looked really chavvy that day if that's what she thought I'd named him. Must start dressing myself in Boden! Blush Wink He was even assumed to be a girl & I was given a Hmm face in a church. It's a biblical name. The similar sounding female name isn't. I gave her a Hmm look back & nearly launched into a looong lecture about who the biblical person was. It's not that obscure a name if you've, y'know, picked up a bible once or twice!

peardrop2 · 27/09/2013 22:14

Hah kitty! Is this 4 month growth spurt thing why sleeping has literally gone out the window for us all then? Interesting!

Agnu ~ I am desperately trying to think of biblical names. All I can think of is James, Peter, Adam, Paul, Jesus, Abe, Judas, Samuel, Sarah, Goliath, Joseph, Eve...oooo is it Eve and she's calling her Steve?

peardrop2 · 27/09/2013 22:15

Clearly not because it's a boy! It's not Goliath is it? Wink

peardrop2 · 27/09/2013 22:17

Bring ~ thank you for the love hah hah! I can't but can believe people are so openly stupid. What if you'd always dreamt of having 3 boys! So insensitive!!

AGnu · 27/09/2013 23:03

Grin Given that I'm 5' & DH is 5'7" I think we'd have to be incredibly optimistic to name our child Goliath!

peardrop2 · 28/09/2013 01:51

We've gone right back to the early days to a 1:40am feed :-( why oh why?!?! I was hoping it was just a fluke but it's been a week now. I don't even have much milk to give :-/ I'm much better at 3am, why did it have to change!

FrussoHathor · 28/09/2013 01:55

Morning pear
