Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think there is a spurt around 9 months.

I cannot take brufen due to the tablets I am on. I am taking vitamins and actimil each day and have been for a while. Paracetamol barely touches it. I am due back at the doctor Thursday if it is no better as we need to give the thrush treatment time to work. I also have lots of mouth ulcers today too. No parties in my mouth for a while.

fruitpastilles · 16/07/2013 10:41

Oh vq that sounds awful, yes you definitely need to go back to the doctors, I'd say you need to go before Thursday though!

So we have just had S's paeds appt, she has been given domperidone for her sickness after me telling the doctor that she already has a thickened formula so gaviscon will make it too thick, which is what he wanted to give her.
She has also been given some granules that will act as a preventative for her wheezing (which was particularly bad today) so hopefully that will stop soon too. Very happy with the outcome Smile

Kyzordz · 16/07/2013 10:58

Mooorning! 7:30-7 here, so not bad :) breakfast refusal again despite having it at 9 so two hours after his bottle. Is clearly no longer a breakfast fan! Will work on fixing this at some point, just working out my options.

Thanks for the recipe ideas bplp haven't tried either of those so will give them a whirl

Eww pennie cat food, grim!

det e loves the lentils one too :)

chasing don't worry, o will pick back up, Eric has done the same thing before now. He will start eating again don't worry. Do you remember when Eric wouldn't eat except for toast and yoghurts? He kept that up for like a week, and look at him now :) honestly just go with it, he will be ok, keep offering the food and the milk and let him get on with it. I always offer a variety but have a fail safe backup. Usually toast, and ek cheese pie or spag Bol are my fail safes. Eric wouldn't eat breakfast today, and that's ok for now, a couple of missed breakfast times won't matter, ESP when it's their choice and food is offered.

eliza I guess e isn't going to like the tube, bless her. When is she allowed it out? I shall be celebrating for you when that finally happens :)

Brew for the bad nights guys :( izzy I really don't know how you manage it :( I couldn't, not at all :(

mm how odd :/

Glad your appointment went well fruit, great outcome!

Goshes pr what a morning!!

Oh vq you sound awful :( I want to come and play nurse and look after you, or at the very least do the things you have to do usually so you don't need to do them!

gt I would ask for a fucking seat, fuckers. That makes me cross, as does not giving up a bus seat when someone else needs it more.

ChasingDaisy · 16/07/2013 11:56

Oscar has just met some chickens and got some freshly laid eggs Smile He will be having his first taste of egg later. He also met a Rottweiler puppy who put my dads lab to shame. So well behaved. Gorgeous too.

MsJupiterJones · 16/07/2013 12:09

VQ that sounds horrible! You have had such a run of it. Hope it gets cleared up soon. Did you have blood tests when you saw the doctor to check your thyroid, iron levels etc btw?

GT that is terrible. Can you tell a member of staff & maybe they can make a quick announcement? They did that at my antenatal clinic and there were signs saying seating was for pg women.

Donnadoon · 16/07/2013 14:25

Sorry for VQ being poorly
Yum for the freshly laid eggs chasing
GT What Ms JJ said ^
Can we discuss the faff of cleaning highchairs?
It wants cleaning up to 6 times a day with meals and snacks and I was using dettol wipes but they are no longer on offer Grin ...so the faff begins with kitchen roll to remove food lumps and then bleach spray/hot soapy water and rinse and kitchen roll dry. Erm Ive just made it sound easy but ...
Oh thats before the on the floor mess! Grin
And I know, I know this too shall pass

Kyzordz · 16/07/2013 14:36

Nomnom for fresh eggs chasing we have chickens :) fresh eggs are lovely!

Tell me about it donna drives me nuts! I have a booster seat thing on a chair now and shower it of an evening if its particularly grubby!

Kyzordz · 16/07/2013 14:36

Forgot to say, hate skinning tomatoes. Too fucking hot to cook!

ChasingDaisy · 16/07/2013 14:56

Just left O with my dad for an hour to pop to Tesco with my stepmum and came back to a screaming/sobbing baby, frazzled dad, a couple of frantic text messages and a Labrador currently on his way to the vets with an Oscar sized sock residing in his belly Hmm

Poor dad Grin

Kyzordz · 16/07/2013 15:09

Eek!!! Goshes sounds like an eventful hour! I thought just washing machines ate baby socks, not dogs too!

Spag bol cooked and cooling, chicken with apricots chopped ready to cook later, now to see if I have the stuff for chicken with apple. Everyone else must be out enjoying the sun!

Kyzordz · 16/07/2013 15:13

I have got the stuff, awesome. Will chop that later and cook it tomorrow, too bloody hot now!

PetiteRaleuse · 16/07/2013 15:14

Oh no chasing Shock :o

If it's any consolation it's unlikely a baby sock will do a big dog any harm. You'd be amazed at what passes throygh my dog's tummy and comes out pretty much intact the other end

Why did I buy cherries for dd1? Such a faff stoning them. it's messy too.

Re the highchair I wipe off big lumps of food, hoover crumbs up once a day and do a full clean as and when. The table part gets cleaned properly once or twice a day depending on if she needs it for finger food.

ChasingDaisy · 16/07/2013 15:20

I wouldn't mind but I only bought the socks last week Grin

O had his second nap in the car and is currently laying next to me on the bed for his third

Kyzordz · 16/07/2013 15:26

I need want a new high chair.

pr cherries are so lush but such a pita!

Good stuff chasing are they normal length naps he's managing? Sounds like a brill start!

Bleddy dog! E needs new socks, just reminded me. My dogs, or one in particular, has had string, balloons and binbag (not a whole one) pass right through, she is a menace for eating anything she finds, not socks yet though!

ChasingDaisy · 16/07/2013 15:29

Yep, normal length naps so far :) This one will be the test as it is his long nap. 50mins and counting so far. Has woken a couple of times but self settled. Not bad for his first day.

The vets are trying to make him vomit it up Confused

Kyzordz · 16/07/2013 15:43

Ooh he's doing great then!

Good luck to the vets with that one then :|

It's toooooo hottttttt

ChasingDaisy · 16/07/2013 15:51

I'm bored of the heat now too. I've got a tan so I'm done thanks Smile
They gave him an injection and the sock has reappeared but he's carrying on being sick...

He is a dafty.

ValiumQueen · 16/07/2013 16:29

I will ask for bloods next time I go. Good idea.

I have been sucking ice pops all day to sooth my mouth. Not sure they are doing it any good, but it numbs the pain for a while.

Jacob is on fine form today. You would hardly know he was there. I have been able to tidy a bit of the bomb site that is my daughters bedroom and he has been happy to tag along. He also slept for 2 hours in his cot. No vomit today.

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 16/07/2013 16:30

An eventful day for me. Before I left DS's grump continued, he even grumped through a morning bath which is club unusual. As a parting comment to DH I said if S is whiny and you can't cool him and more Calpol doesn't work, take him to the dr (our surgery is around the corner from home and has a drop in system). S was hot, bothered and disinterested in milk or food, and a bit drowsy and lethargic, so DH took him around. Nurse saw him, immediately got GP downstairs, who observed him for 15 mins before dispatching DH straight to A&E. DH had to call me away from important, highly contentious meeting. I was somewhat less than professional and burst into tears my client and the opposition (about as far from the bad ass lawyer image I prefer to radiate at such meetings as possible) and I legged it to hospital. S was seen immediately as GP had called ahead. They suspected meningitis Sad

We've been under observation for 4 hours. DS seems much better after cooling down a lot and having had a nap and a little bit of milk. He hasn't wee'd yet. I've got a naked baby with his willy dangled into a pot. I think they think he is ok, but just want to check wee.

I'm fine after initial worry now as S is so much better in himself.

ValiumQueen · 16/07/2013 16:35

I hate my high chair too. Need to get an ikea one. We have one at my mums and it us great. The one we are using at the moment gets so dirty and is so hard to clean. The tray is ok as I just wash that in the sink but the seat has a cover ugh.

And I am sick of fucking bottles! And sick of buying more sodding teats as they rip. Does anyone else have that problem? I use variflow Tommee Tippee and am thinking of complaining.

ValiumQueen · 16/07/2013 16:37

Oh fuck Madame. What a day! I think it is perfectly normal for a mum to cry so do not worry about your image. You are a mum first and foremost. Big hugs x I do hope S is ok x

fruitpastilles · 16/07/2013 16:43

madame I hope S is ok. He's in the best place, and as vq says, you are a mum first! xxxx

Lily311 · 16/07/2013 17:08

Hate cleaning high chairs. I have a sponge and dettol spray. I ha e to do it after every meal as the Tripp trapp is difficult to clean when something dries on it. Arghh.

vq when it happened to me I used probiotics capsules and broke them, sticked it on tongue and it worked within 2 days. Bloody painful though.

madame such worry. Hugs, hope he is ok.

BigPigLittlePig · 16/07/2013 17:32

Fuck a duck madame - hope he is better soon. Did have a little grin at "willy dangling in pot" - poor little dude. I was in A&E yesterday (for work) and there was a little baby in there not looking too clever, and it nearly made me cry. I would be a total wreck if it was my own.

Chasing I had an even bigger grin at the dogs sock-incident. Hope he too gets better soon, and learns a lesson highly unlikely if my silly old cat is anything to go by Well done little O on his naps, too. Very impressive indeed.

Pidj amazing! You must feel like a new woman after that!

Izzy Sad - I wish I had a bright suggestion, but I really don't. Just ((hugs)) for all of you.

VQ ow ow ow xx

Our highchair could probably be classed as some sort of environmental disaster zone. I use a sponge thing to wipe up spills, with warm soapy water. The floor is atrocious though. Needs hoovering more often that I have time for can be bothered

Another highly successful day at nursery for F today, only tears at nap times apparently. I'm so happy with how she's settled in [proud moment]

PurplePidjin · 16/07/2013 18:35

Madam

My teeny under the 0.4th centile baby is now 16lb9 and over the 9th :o
