pikz that sounds like a great plan. And morning nap is a smashing place to start. Thanks so much!

Hallo kyz! You always post things which make me go Blush I forgot to mention that!

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2013 21:45

You win VQ!

Fucking teeth

ChasingDaisy · 15/07/2013 21:46

pass I am starting with morning nap tomorrow. I will stick to my take it slow plan. I have always done things to O's pace so I see no point in changing now.

YellowWellies · 15/07/2013 21:52

Pikz Kyz thanks so much about nap tips. He'll nap for 40 mins in the cot but I'm vair lazy about cracking naps properly as we're usually out and about and he either naps in the buggy or on me (including today, soaking wet, in the changing room at the swimming pool!). I'm going to use the back end of this week when my sister is away and sort it properly so he'll nap in the cot for an hour plus. Thanks ladies Smile

Kyzordz · 15/07/2013 21:53

No teef here still! I call e my gummy wonder. Glad j's skin is getting better vq

chasing sounds like a plan :) hope it goes well :)

Do I pass? Blush

Pikz · 15/07/2013 21:54

VQ you get an extra bit for you cape as you are a WINNER

BigPigLittlePig · 15/07/2013 21:55

Chasing it was a sad moment when F no longer wanted to nap on me Sad - but I figure I had 6 months of it, so we had more than our fair share of cuddles! Nothing wrong with doing things at their pace.

VQ Shock is all. SIX!?

Kyz really glad your new routine seems to be working, E sounds as though he's doing brilliantly.

Have just sat down for the first time. Got in from work at 5.30, gave F tea, bathed her, failed to get her to sleep, cooked tea, put her to bed, got her up, collected dh, put F back to bed, ate tea, cooked up some purees, made lunch for tomorrow. Am pooped!

daisychain76 · 15/07/2013 21:55

7 teeth here. 5 in the last month!! Felt them all tonight when I was trying to yank my boob away and they clamped down on the end of my nipple. Ouch! Sometimes I really have to summon up courage to let him latch on again he is such a biter.

Good advice regarding naps thanks pikz. QQ does anyone here have a connector carrier? I can't decide what fabric to buy one in. I like a lilac-ish one with white elephants, but not sure if white is a bad idea for a sling (need to keep it neat enough to sell on to justify the expense).

Kyzordz · 15/07/2013 21:56

Good luck with it yw :) e has sleep cue things too like the room is dark, he is given his dummy and his scooby doo fleece for day naps and gro bag at night. He is a fantastical napper at home but not when we are out! He will sleep in his pushchair or car seat etc but only catnap, he is too nosey! He will sleep at other houses though on anyone's sofa or in anyone's travel cot

BigPigLittlePig · 15/07/2013 21:57

Oh yes, Birds custard powder is milk free, so can be used to make proper custard, only with oat/rice/formula milk instead of cow juice. Big hit here. Might have to make some soon.

Also VQ - 200mls oat milk/formula and 1 tbsp cornflour, heated up on the oven then stick in a tupperware in the fridge, and serve with fruit purees = milk/soy/whatever free yoghurt. A big hit here.

Kyzordz · 15/07/2013 22:01

Ouch daisy!!!

bplp you must be bolloxed! I didn't manage quite so much, I just chopped the stuff up for more spag bol cos I cba to make it and the meat is ok for another couple of days! I plan on doing apricot chicken and spag Bol again from the ak book and then some cornflake chicken strip things from the blw book. I may do some other purées next week too as I really am out of home cooked stuff at the moment! No idea what else to do though, I do try to vary it and some days he just has what we have. He ate a whacking great pot of spag Bol tonight (it's not all he eats honest) and manages lumps like peas and sweet corn and pasta stars now in purée so I might get a slightly bigger sized pasta perhaps, the little bows are quite doddy still. He eats things himself but wasn't keen on lumps in purée at first. He still spits out the first spoon or so now too but eats it after that, weird

MissMummy1 · 15/07/2013 22:04

2.5 teeth here. The buggering 0.5 one keeps teasing us and popping in and out. Bastard.

DP and I have just taken advantage of sleeping baby and baked 2 soda breads, banana bread, sausage rolls and a massive rice pudding. Nom nom nom. ignores diet plan

BigPigLittlePig · 15/07/2013 22:05

Chicken, sweet potato and apple is a bit hit here Kyz - that's an AK one. Plus a cot, sweet potato & orange one (another AK). I need to do a load of purees though, as only now got spag bol & tuna pasta in the freezer.

YellowWellies · 15/07/2013 22:06

No teeth yet and he's nearly 9 months actual, 8 months adjusted Hmm

Daisy Shock Shock Shock Shock just Shock Shock Shock Shock .

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 15/07/2013 22:10

The nap chat is interesting. DS doesn't self settle and he's too heavy to rock so if he won't fall asleep on bottle I get into bed with him then ignore him and he eventually goes to sleep. Then I have to wait until he is zonko before I transfer. I don't bother if its just a nap, but I should as he likes leaning over the side of the bed which surely spells disaster!

bp fab re nursery, your night sounds like mine.

bry v clever!

Good to hear from you vq that is a lot of teef. We still only have two, bottom at the front, like Buggs Bunny!

No words, but S is very emphatic when he "talks". Really conversational. His best convos are with DD. He properly luffs her. And she makes him roar with laughter.

Busy busy day at work. Came home, kids to bed and did 3 more hours. In early doors tomorrow. Super hot still - we have taken the very difficult and controversial decision to loose the blackout blinds in every room and instead open all the windows in a vague hope of some breeze. It's working but come 4am I shall be cursing!

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 15/07/2013 22:12

Lose not loose.

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 15/07/2013 22:13

I'm here!

Just fighting with my new fucking bastarding iPhone. I hate it when I have to go through this fucking palava everytime I get a frickin' new one. Angry

Spent all evening with the shitting thing. But still, 32gb for meeeeeeeeeee to take pictures with haha!.

It's still saying no service though... fucksake.

2 teef here still! Just like Madame! 2 little bugs bunny teeth!

Made AK lentils and sweet potato tonight. He loved it! He really likes the AK recipes when I pull my finger out and make them as opposed to just chucking whatever in!

Re: Custard, yup, powder and milk free milk lol! We mix with fruit for an occasional change in pudding.

ChasingDaisy · 15/07/2013 22:26

I have no purees in the freezer. Mummy fail. The only purees he has are EK ones but he seems to have developed an oral aversion these past couple of days. Won't accept a spoon, teething gel or calpol. All of which he used to take happily. So he is just having finger foods at the moment, of which he hardly actually eats any. It's a wonder he is still actually alive growing.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/07/2013 22:27

We've had two teeth for two months almost. No sg if the top two but the bottom gums are swelling again. daisy ow fecking ow.

Ate rabbit tonight and DD1 thought it was chicken. I didn't correct her

Elizadoesdolittle · 15/07/2013 22:28

God daisy 7 teeth, wowzers! E went through a stage of comping on my nips but seems to have stopped now. She has 2, dread to think what it would feel like with 7.

bplp Glad F is having a ball at nursery.

VQ 6 teeth is impressive too. Ouch for the horrible tounge thing. Sorry the house didn't live up to your expectations.

We have another buyer for our house but nowhere to buy so they'll probably pull out at some stage. I tihnk we need to start again in 8 months once we know where DD1 will be going to school. Our current house is in the catchment area for 2 great schools so I'd hate to move and then she gets in a shit school.

No talking here. We have lots of squeeling (usually at something her big sis is doing) and clapping and waving but that's it. Very impressed with the chatters. To be honest I'm happy with E to stay silent for quite some time yet. DD1 talks constantly and I don't think I could take E joining in yet.

Have had a pleasant afternoon splashing about in the garden. Only downside has been E's tube. It's been coming out pretty much once a day, twice on Sunday. I had a nurse over today to help me with it as I had nobody around and also needed more tubes. Neither of us could get it in so she went away whilst E napped and came back a couple of hours later to do it. We managed it but it seems that constantly having a tube shoved down her nose is creating trauma which isn't surprising really.

E is going to my pil for most of the day tomorrrow. I am taking DD1 to the theatre to see we're going on a bear hunt. She loves that book. Then to look around her nursery that she'll be starting at in september and to meet the teacher. Am looking forward to it but bit worried about leaving E. She's only really been looked after by DH during the day. Shes mostly been asleep when babysat before and isn't particuarly good with anyone that isn't me or DH. Ah well, I'm sure she'll be ok.

Gosh that was a bit of an epic post, sorry. I've been quite busy of late so haven't really posted. That's my excuse.

Enjoy the haggis meets and northern meets. Jealous I can't partake in either of them.

TheDetective · 15/07/2013 22:28

I might get some reigns to put on O hahahahaaaaaa Grin.

YW You would shit yourself if J was getting up to what O is. Seriously, it is disconcerting. And hard fucking work! I wish O had been happy not crawling for a bit longer. But he was desperate to. So that's the only plus side. He is a bit less whingy! Confused

PetiteRaleuse · 15/07/2013 22:29

chasing I put teething gel on dummies.

ChasingDaisy · 15/07/2013 22:32

No dummies here PR . I managed to sneak that and Calpol in whilst he was taking his bedtime bottle. He seems in a deep sleep so naturally I'm too worried to sleep now after his bang to the head.
