Ah fed for 10 minutes then slept.

num don't forget it's quick to put them on the boob once feeding is established. I'm fortunate that she sleeps well overnight too! :)

num3onway · 12/08/2013 08:41

An I forgot the convienience bf prob has over ff. you just stick them on there. No sterilising kettle boiling measuring out and cooling!

KeepTheFaithBaby · 12/08/2013 08:55

Yeah. Certainly getting BF established is time consuming! I struggled in hospital - the girl opposite and next to me were FF using the glass bottles - you know, screw the lid on a go? While I struggled to get Faithlet to latch! I was Envy at how easy it was. Course their babies slept for longer too. Faithlet does have a bottle in the evening (last couple of nights we've mixed EBM and formula). It does take a bit longer but obviously you feed less often so it's swings and roundabouts I guess. I do like it when we go out though. I don't have to worry about taking food stuff with me. It's like - do I have my boobs? Yes, ok, let's go! Grin

num3onway · 12/08/2013 08:59

Haha well your not gonna forget your boobs are you!

Dd woke at 5 today had 8oz and went back off til 7. Offered milk at 8 but she's not interested, tryed again at 8.30 and she took 2oz and is now back asleep! She is normally very bang on with her 3 hourly feeds! And usually has at least 6 if not all of it!

KeepTheFaithBaby · 12/08/2013 09:08

I'm sure she'll make up for it later!

Blimey 9.05 awake and demanding food again! Think she's having a growth spurt! Yesterday I was on the phone so DH gave her a bottle of 3oz. I went out for a run and she took another 6oz while I was out!

num3onway · 12/08/2013 09:36

Yep I'm sure she will

birdbrain21 · 12/08/2013 11:44

looby baby bird has been sleeping through for a while as well. She goes every 3 hours during the day but less in the evening and feeds for 20 mins from one side and just fusses around if I offer her the other. She has about 6 feeds a day (sometimes with a little 5 min snack feed in the middle of feeds) so normally feeding 7.30, 10.30, 1.30, 4.30, 7.00, 8.30 and is asleep by 9.00. she normally sleeps during the day for about 4 and a half hours (broken up into 3 sleeps). hth.

birdbrain21 · 12/08/2013 11:47

forgot to say in previous post she's ebf and when I express and give her a bottle she has 5oz

KeepTheFaithBaby · 12/08/2013 15:15

Forget me trying to post how often she feeds in the day! Today has been hourly, clearly she's having a growth spurt!

LikeCandy · 12/08/2013 22:23

num I couldn't be bothered with all the hassle of bottles and formula - BF is super convenient for us, and so much cheaper than FF (though I have spend a small fortune on nursing bras!) the only downside is being restricted in what I can wear but that's a small price to pay!

keepthefaith we're having a hungry day (and night so far) here too! so glad after a couple of weeks where she's been terrible with her appetite. feeding at home is working out far better than feeding when we're out and about - she's far too distractible at the moment!

LoobyLou33 · 13/08/2013 01:21

Thanks faith for posting - funny that you're having an unusual day of feeds! I wonder if shell suddenly outgrow her vests! birdbrain that pattern sounds similar to ours, tho she rarely sleeps that much in the day..lucky you getting 4 hours! She did fall asleep in her carrycot today while I put her down to sort some things out, but generally she needs motion or boob or cuddles to achieve and prolong sleep.

mama glad you had a fab holiday, it sounds gorgeous! Did you say Cornwall? Love it there.

Well dd slept til 530 again last night but as you can see not tonight! I don't think she's hungry though but she wouldn't settle quickly and I'm too tired to try another method... Hopefully means she'll last a bit longer...

LikeCandy · 13/08/2013 03:49

Also mama I can't believe Alex will be 1 in 4m! That's crazy talk :D glad you all had a great trip!

num3onway · 13/08/2013 05:13

Well we are on first feed of the day. Dd was asleep at 8.30 til just before 5. She only took half her bedtime bottle so I knew it'd be an early one! Hopefully I can get her bk to sleep and have myself another hour before older dc are up!

AmberLav · 13/08/2013 20:35

Just catching up for first time in ages! Been up in Scotland, firstly at a cotrage that had no internet and barely any phone reception, then at my mum's where the wifi is turned off at night!

E did 9 till 5.45am one night, but keeps chopping and changing from one day to the next!

Will try to get back into the overnight habit again now!

catherine19 · 13/08/2013 22:09

It is funny looking a the times people post! Maybe that's also why it's slowing down cos lots of babes are sleeping better or we are getting used to being up!

catherine19 · 13/08/2013 22:10

I've been battling with the car seat to move the straps cos ds is getting soo big.
Anyone no how to tell when we need a bigger one?

num3onway · 13/08/2013 22:14

First stage normally last til 9-12 months I think, it goes off weight of baby

Dd been unsettled today, got very upset at last bottle being in her mouth so I suspect sore gums

Hopefully she will be better tomorrow

What are people buying babies for Xmas? Early I know but I have 3dc to buy for so have to get ahead!

num3onway · 15/08/2013 08:18

Where are you all?????

KeepTheFaithBaby · 15/08/2013 08:25

I'm around.

Christmas? Gosh, no idea! Have bought an elf outfit though Wink

num3onway · 15/08/2013 09:00

Ooo cute!

So far dd has fisher price first doll and pram walker, and a sit and stand giraffe

We have three dc so find it best to start around this time of year they all have three presents each ATM, actually the older two also have pjs and undies

birdbrain21 · 15/08/2013 11:22

been too busy trying to keep a grumpy teething baby happy to post! I do love her but she's such a nightmare sometimes!!!!

KeepTheFaithBaby · 15/08/2013 18:40

bird I know what you mean! I managed to get her to have a couple of decent naps today so I feel loads better. Managed a run this evening too. Determined to get fit!

Well after many misgivings we have started mixed feeding, just a drop of formula with EBM in her evening bottle. It's working like a charm - along with a set bath time of 6pm and massage. Instead of 9pm settling we're looking at 7.30-8! :) it makes me feel a bit inadequate, like my milk can't quite fill her up?! But it gives me hope that we might be able to go out in the evening soon! :)

Trishstar · 16/08/2013 19:24

First seats are normally suitable til 9kg Xx

OP posts:
kellestar · 16/08/2013 22:32

Most first seats can go up to 12 or even 18 kg. But they are considered to have outgrown it if the top of their head is above the seat back.

The minimum weight for forward facing is 9kg.

My DD weighed 9kg at 2y4m and I bought an extended rear facing seat so she would be much comfier.

I did a lot of research into seats and rear facing and would keep both of mine rear facing for as long as possible.

We have a britax first class plus for DD but considering the izi besafe or britax max fit (isofix compatible).

kellestar · 16/08/2013 22:55

I am still awake though everyone is still asleep.

My best friends dad passed away this morning. I have been trying to support her and really struggling to say the right thing. I know that nothing is the right thing for now. She is coming up for 20 weeks pregnant and was due a scan next week and was taking her dad to see the baby. It was 3 weeks ago he was given the news that it would be less than 3 months, it's just gone so quick. He was a lovely man and I already miss his gruff voice, and he is not my dad :(

DD is at my parents for her first sleepover and I am a bag of nerves. Don't want to call as it would look like I don't trust them. Never been apart from my little girl overnight. Even when DS arrived I wasn't away overnight.
