So - dolbear, you said you were starting to get broody? Not me - I took my pram and a load of baby stuff to a local charity shop the other day (did get a bit sad when I handed over the pram though - the woman in the shop didn't help when she said "think of all those walks you did with that!"). Hope you are all doing ok.

dd2 used to get bad nappy rash from cheap nursery wipes. dd3 has bad rash when it's hot, but we leave her nappy off a lot at the moment. we only use water and cloth wipes or cotton wool usually, I can never believe that wet wipes are good for them.

am getting almost nostalgic at the thought that some day soon won't be having any more nappy or wipe discussions. [need a new emoticon for Very Sad Person here] and actually not that soon for dd3 probably, maybe sometime next year......

Great photo dot and congrats!!!

MrsD will look at the site soon as the computer is rebuilt

Life here is as good as it can be with a 2 yr old

Looking at our next holiday which I can't wait for...

Stay well

Dottydot · 30/07/2006 17:00

Fennel - we'll be joining you in the 2007 potty training sessions I should think..!

fennel · 30/07/2006 21:31

dot

Glad to hear the Big Day went well. what did the boys think of it all?

Mrs D those are gorgeous pictures of your dcs.

Chuffed where are you going on holiday next?

Chuffed · 30/07/2006 22:27

Not sure, maybe Spain or Thailand, depending on how low we can keep the budget as we would like to go to the states for skiing/snowboarding next year.

MrsDoolittle · 31/07/2006 10:29

Congratulations Dot!!

Thank you Fennel and HD. Are you gonna have a go at doing one yourselves??

We have a miserable little girl in the house at the moment, I think she ight have an ear ache or throat infection. I've just put her to bed without any protest.

Hope you are all enjoying the weather.

Am very impressed that you are still considering globetrotting Chuffed. I think I have resigned myself to the fact those days are over for us for a while. What with 12 hens, a dog, maybe a puppy soon, two kiddiwinks and a homebody dh

Chuffed · 01/08/2006 22:43

Globetrotting is one of our 'things'.
Getting the itinerary shaped now for spain, just over 2 wks travelling around from Seville and around that area as far as Granada and Gibraltar then fly to Barcelona and go down the coast to Valencia then fly for a couple of days in London.

Once this is planned we need to get planning snowboarding in Feb as we are trying to get a group together to fill a chalet and if nobody has details or costs they aren't going to be able to make decisions.

Next will be the logistics of getting around once we are in spain ie. pushchairs, packs etc that will be the hardest bit.

Well off to give a nappy demo to try to convince some new mums to try cloth.

Take care

fennel · 02/08/2006 08:38

globetrotting was one of my things once but we haven't found it that great with more than one child. Maybe when the youngest is about 4 we'll get more adventurous again, when there's no buggies or nappies and everyone can walk for miles and carry some luggage. We have been to Spain several times with 2 or 3 though, that's been OK.

mrs d am not organised enough with the photos to do a montage. I have scrapbooks for all 3, dd3's is a bit slender compared to the other two though.

hewlettsdaughter · 04/08/2006 15:41

Ooh, photos. I haven't sorted out any of my prints since dd was born (I do have lots of photos on the PC though). Am going to have to get some recent ones framed soon, as dd is starting to notice all the ones of her brother around the house...

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. Can someone tell me the signs to look out for when thinking about potty training? I'm still tempted to wait until after the baby is born but should I buy a potty now so that ds can sit on it when I'm on the loo or should I just wait until I offically start?

LucyJones · 04/08/2006 15:59

ps MrsD - love your montage, made me feel choked up - must be the preggie hormones

fennel · 04/08/2006 19:03

well i went a bit damp-eyed at Mrs D's montage and am not pregnant or broody. pics of cute babies can do that to the sternest unbroody mother I think.

lucyjone we have a potty sitting around for dd3 to consider. sometimes she sits on it and is proud of herself. she's not done anything in it.

dd3 is getting slowly closer to potty training, by which I mean she's talking about it, telling us now when she's done something in her nappy and wants it changed. but we won't try anything else til she can tell us just before she's done something not just after. that worked well with the other two, I think we did them when they could tell us they were doing something, and when they had occasional successful attempts on the potty. they were both younger than this but dd3 isn't bothered yet.

HI everyone

YG words can't express... I'm so sorry for you and your girls. Please do let us know how you are getting on/if any of us can do anything at all.

On a lighter note, todays my due date, and no baby. Strange how other people's situation pales your troubles into a slight insignificance.. still peed off though!

Chuffed · 19/08/2006 22:15

Good luck lunavix for the labour and birth. Can't wait to hear your exciting news

hewlettsdaughter · 21/08/2006 22:07

how's it going Lunavix? (or should i check the birth announcement threads?)

hope things are settling down a bit yorkiegirl

we start moving house again today, into a little Devon village. have never lived in a village so that will be a new experience. it sounds the sort of place where everyone knows your business before you've even arrived.

Chuffed · 26/08/2006 23:29

have fun fennel. moving house isn't the most fun thing is it?

Hope no news is good news lunavix?

ticking along here, all is well. bring on summer is what I'll say!!!

hewlettsdaughter · 27/08/2006 08:05

Looks like lunavix had a dd, Keira on the 24th - congrats lunavix!

OP posts:
fennel · 29/08/2006 10:44

can't find a birth announcement thread for Lunavix but congratulations and welcome to Keira.

hewlettsdaughter · 29/08/2006 16:41

Haven't seen an announcement thread but there is a breastfeeding one (takes me back to those early days...). After I saw that one I searched and found an announcement on the relevant ante-natal thread.

How has your house move gone Fennel?
