Thought I'd take the liberty of starting a new thread since the last one filled. So mark your places, get comfy and prepare for a few sleepless nights!

In particular we think of Empress and little Sam - hoping and praying he's coming home! :)

It is AMAZING! & worth every penny. We lie DD on a blanket and put the four books around her each open at a different page. She is hilarious kicking her legs wildly when she looks at one she really likes. Book2 is lots of different faces- interesting as she clearly prefers male faces without moustaches but with glasses- DH wears glasses!

Well today has been hell! H has been an angel but I've got good poisoning, I spend the day running to the toilet and throwing up 4/5 times, and just felt lethargic all day. Asked hubby to come home at normal time and not do any overtime! That horrible poo H did earlier up to his belly button nearly did me in! I was standing over him retching trying not to be sick. And today is the most smiley he's been, it's like he knew I needed to be cheered up all day Grin

Well he had his last bottle at 10 (hubby has done everything since he got in just in case I've got food poisoning that is contagious) and he's still asleep now. Hoping that if went 8pm-3am last night he can go 10pm-5am xx we shall see!

Sorry for the mememe! Hope everyone else is good x

Hope you feel better soon trish, sounds like you've had a rough day!

Very unsettled day here. BabyCandy has just fallen asleep in bed after snooze-feeding on me since about 9pm.
I think maybe she got over stimulated / over tired and then couldn't settle? Must attempt a routine, will be difficult as our lifestyle has no order at all!!
Taking bets on how long she'll sleep for now..,

LikeCandy · 05/06/2013 03:04

Not long!!

Trishstar · 05/06/2013 03:25

Well he managed 10-3 so I'd rather try 8-3 tonight as that worked better!

Still feeling rough x

ratbagcatbag · 05/06/2013 03:53

Hi trish, it's strange how they do that isn't it? Lucy did 8:45 - 2-45 but if I put her down at 12 shed still wake at 2:45. :)

Argh candy, hope you get there soon, everything's much easier with sleep.
I'm now about to put boo back down and get another couple of hours in.

See you all later. X

EssexWelsh · 05/06/2013 04:44

I've been a fan of a routine since baby Essex was 5 weeks, bath at 6.30 sleeping by 7.30, sometimes he takes longer to settle up to 8.30, but he was feeding 12.30, 3.30, 7 he then cut his 12.30 feed after a couple of weeks but now the past week it's come back and sometimes even puts in an extra 5.30 feed!!! Thought we were making progress but no such luck, dream feeding doesn't seem to make any difference, very weird his body clock just wakes him at 12.30 and 3.30!! Right he's down and back to sleep for me!!

BonaDea · 05/06/2013 07:40

Hi all - been away and haven't managed to catch up on the thread yet!

DS was amazing while we were away from home (wedding and visiting family) and even slept longer / better. We thought we might be seeing a permanent change but apparently not!! Confused We had one 9.30-4.30 which was amazing!!

Another here where not sure if dream feed makes any difference and tends to wake at 'his' times whether a later night or not! Ah well...

usernamegoeshere · 05/06/2013 07:47

Another with no proper routein, decided to try start one when we get cot, thing is baby user has been going 7 hrs + overnight since about 2 weeks with no feed, But still wakes up for dummy/company etc 3-4 times. No idea how to cut non milk related wakenings.

I suspect we are failing on stimulation in the day time, been busy rearranging/clearing out flat ready for cot and letting baby user watch & doze while she does. So she isn't tired at night and just has lots of mini naps.

Today I will rigidly stick to feed, activity then nap!

trish I hope you feel better!

tattooedapril87 · 05/06/2013 08:48

user we've similar here... Milo wakes about 3/4 times in night, but overall takes the same as Woody who wakes once to guzzle whole lot in one go. Milo snacks all night ling- which he doesn't do in day. after couple oz at night he falls asleep and there is no waking him for the rest... but can't really settle him at night without the bottle (he doesn't have dummy either- and I've tried lots!)

and Essex we have mysterious 5/530 wake up call too... even if they've only eaten an hr before. and they go back to sleep if we rock them, and go back to sleep after 7am feed so its not like they've slept enough and that's the reason?!

they have bath/bottle/story/bed routine that starts about 6/630 & are mostly asleep by 730.. although sometimes later. they are 12wks on Fri x

HadALittleFaithBaby · 05/06/2013 09:07

We had another good night - 8.50-3.20 although she fed fly an hour. Started grunting around 6.15 but she'd done a big poo! I keep debating dream feeding about 10.30 but she always looks so settled! We're up now and she's snoozing on me :)

tattooed Faithlet will happily take a bottle but refuses a dummy! Tried several different types.

What's everyone up to today? We're off to meet my friend then going to a retail park with a big Asda living. No way I'll get out without buying something! Then my Dad is coming round to do a few jobs for me. Quite looking forward to it!

faith I'm jealous, big asda's are awesome!

tatoo'ed glad it's not just us, she gets rocked back to sleep fine but its annoying!

We have baby massage this morning, then waiting in for the cot. Am excited though not cleared its space yet and am dreading It being put together.

Trishstar · 05/06/2013 13:53

Had to make hubby have day off to look after H as I felt so ill this morning!

Feeling tiny bit better, still haven't eaten anything since about 10am yesterday!

Gro anywhere blind turned up today so shall try it out later xx

HadALittleFaithBaby · 05/06/2013 14:25

Oh dear, I spent quite a lot! Got a parasol for the travel system, clothes, bag, pants for me, Father's day gifts from Asda and a grow bag (Very hungry caterpillar!) from TK Maxx!

Poor Trish! Glad your DH is around to help and you're on the mend. Hope you feel better soon!

Welcome tweet

trish hope you feel better!

Baby angel was poorly with an upset stomach yesterday, we went through 5 babygrows and DH was away overnight. She seems better today though. Am hoping to get out for some fresh air shortly (but she's just fallen asleep for the first time since 10am and I'm afraid to move her!)

YummyDollie · 05/06/2013 15:25

After 7 weeks and 1 day I decided to give up breastfeeding Sad been diagnosed with post natal depression at our 6 week check and after discussing with doctor discovered a lot of my problems were to do with hating breastfeeding, in proud I did what I had to do and am now weaning bang yummy onto formula and she's been the happiest most playful I've ever know her be, she finally pooed after 12 days of no poo (whilst BF'ing) she wasn't feeding properly I was simply spending all day chained to the couch feeding every 30 minutes and not leaving the house which hasn't helped my depression I thought the sadness I was feeling was normal, clearly not. Feeling a bit better today from having a good night and so far a good day. Phew sorry ladies just needed to get all that out! I realise I come here (and to the Facebook page) to moan and ask questions a lot... Sorry about that!

Trishstar · 05/06/2013 15:41

Don't be daft Yummy! We are here so you can have a moan!

Glad you've made a decision that makes you happy as if you're happy baby will be too x

YummyDollie · 05/06/2013 15:57

Thank you trishstar mumsnet has been a saviour since becoming pregnant and now having a baby I'm not sure I'd of coped without it and everyone's support your a lovley lot!

ElliesWellies · 05/06/2013 16:05

Good for you yummy - if breast feeding was making you feel awful then definitely best to stop.

Hope you feel better trish - sounds awful.

Just managed a two hour train journey as four of us for the first time, very relieved it went ok, did advance booking for first class for the extra room. Not sure the businessmen were that pleased to see us trooping on board with DD in sling and DS running around! But we all got settled and managed to do the journey with pride intact. Return journey tomorrow so wish me luck!

Jo1984uk · 05/06/2013 17:08

Took Sofia to have her jabs today.. I was so nervous, I asked if the nurse could do them while she was still in her sling (sound asleep). Nurse said that was fine, she cried a little but not too bad. Now however, she is so upset.. Never heard her cry like it. If I love she cries( cant put her down), she has just started to scream again and I feel awful for putting her through this!! I know it's important but I wasn't quite expecting her to be like this.

She usually feeds every hour but has only fed once since 10 this morning.. If I offer her the boob she screams even more. Poor little thing

Jo1984uk · 05/06/2013 17:10

Opps posted too soon...

Anyone else have any experience with this? Nurse said she would only be upset for a few hours and she had jabs at 11.30 Sad

It seems like the slightest movement hurts her Sad

Jo1984uk · 05/06/2013 17:12

Was meant to write if I move she cries, not love.. So hard using phone to type with the way she is lying on me..

LikeCandy · 05/06/2013 17:57

I'm sorry jo no advice/experience here but don't feel guilty, you're doing the best for baby and she'll be right as rain soon!

yummy I hope you feel better soon, know you've made the right decision for you - happy mummy = happy baby!

BabyCandy is having a sleepy day. We went to bumps & babes this morning then had a walk, and since we got in at 2 she's just been snoozing on my lap and eating?!
Making up for over tiredness yesterday obviously!

Jo1984uk · 05/06/2013 18:16

Thanks likecandy, I'm not sure who's crying more, me or her!! She still hasn't fed yet and I'm starting to get really worried as its so warm. Not sure how long to let her go In between feeds.. May ring Nhs direct?!

These babies do like making us worry don't they!!

LikeCandy · 05/06/2013 18:37

Jo, if you're worrying dont hesitate to call NHS direct, or is there a local out if hours GP you could phone?

Have you tried maybe getting in a bath with her? That usually settles BabyCandy down, I think it's the relaxing combo of warm water and skin to skin.
