Please give your baby's favourite foods so we can get some ideas from each other.

"circumnavigate the bed"

Get over yourself, StuntMagellan

StuntNun · 28/05/2013 02:07

That's what he said Luis! He's funny when he's tired and grumpy.

LuisGarcia · 28/05/2013 02:11

I was talking to him when I posted that

StuntNun · 28/05/2013 02:13

Turned out J was hungry. At 2 a.m. Pretty sure that's not allowed. Maybe this means he'll sleep till morning

StuntNun · 28/05/2013 02:22

Have been trying in vain to sleep all night but very difficult with clingy koala. He has just had a feed and fallen asleep cuddling my face Smile Hmm

ChasingDaisy · 28/05/2013 04:25

Circumnavigate the bed? Jeez MrStunt pull yourself together.

Bryzoan · 28/05/2013 04:56

Poor mr. Stunt. Perhaps he really is struggling. Maybe get him a compass for his next birthday and practice pacing squares in the garden with him? Must be frightening to have to circumnavigate a bed in the middle of the night, with little to no idea if you will ever return.

ValiumQueen · 28/05/2013 04:57

4am feed here which was lovely. 20 mins and asleep again. I am not though. Grr. Really pleased he was hungry. He did not eat much yesterday so I was expecting it. DH messed up bottle when I took DD2 out to a school event for DD1. J only took 3 oz and threw most of it back.

Last night DH got J ready for bed while I was putting the girls down. He thought changing nappy and Gro was sufficient. No wash or cream application, not to mention medication. He looked embarrassed in front of his mum and said 'it just goes to show I have no idea how much you actually do ' WOW! I left the washing up too, indeed I left prep of dinner also Grin

Must try for a few more minutes sleep.

ValiumQueen · 28/05/2013 04:59

Bry Grin could you move the cot to his side Stunt? Or swap sides to make it easier for the poor man?

Bryzoan · 28/05/2013 05:04

That could work too vq... Though I suspect he'd be pretty keen on swapping back and just attempting the one circumnavigation before too long.

StuntNun · 28/05/2013 05:58

No way I'm sleeping on his side, I'll get cooties. Grin I usually see to J in the night but it's getting more difficult as my back gets worse. Yesterday morning I couldn't get up when J woke up and I ended up having to roll out of bed on to the floor then pull myself up on the cot. Shock Once I get moving in the morning I'm not too bad.

Morning. Shite night here, which was not welcome after 20 hours of being awake. Thanks LO. Please choose insomniac nights for teething in the future. I grew you in my womb, I thought you'd telepathically get me. Ffs.

ChasingDaisy · 28/05/2013 07:03

Ugh.

Matchsticks please.

Teething can fuck off.

Dixiebell · 28/05/2013 08:23

Morning all. Sorry for bad nights and dim DPs.

I am in denial about packing for our holiday. Leaving early sat am and DH is working all week so my plan was to get majority of packing done over bank hol, get roofbox on car, as I will not be able to do with kids at home, and DH and I are so knackered by time boys are in bed and whence eaten that we'll have no motivation to do it in evenings. We got as far as getting the bags out of loft. Confused It'll all be okay somehow...won't it?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/05/2013 08:31

dixie I always have grand plans to start packing a week beige we go away and never do. Well, I put a jute bag on the kitchen surface and put some goodies bars in then it is left.

Sorry for all the rubbish nights. I slept really well last night. I don't usually when DH is away so it made a nice change.

I am missing them now. The house is all tidy and clean and I am on top of the washing and the ironing so they can come back. Sad

BigPigLittlePig · 28/05/2013 08:39

Oh dear stunt, circumnavigation?!?! That is a challenge indeed.
Dixie packing will be fine, there's still a few days to go.
Chasing and PR - hope the teeth sort themselves out pronto.
YW I shall try myself with some soya milk this week then. I haven't been overly strict on soya in my diet, although tbh I don't have much with it in anyway. So terrifying to knowingly have something that might lead to screaming abdabs Confused

Not a bad night here, but unsettled as F is constipated (again). At what point do their bowels get accustomed to having solids? She really isn't on a lot at all, and gets so bunged up. Don't really want to dish oiut the old brown sugar again.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/05/2013 08:41

bp be careful with soya. dD1 had a lactose intolerance so would have soya and actually ended up with a soya intolerance as well. ( Was horrible she had an abdominal blockage and her stomach puffed up and went ard and she had to be blue lighted, the whole works) The dietician told us it is becoming increasingly common these days.

I have some spare matches!

Pikz · 28/05/2013 08:49

I have spare matches too..big hugs chasing and bp.

Stunt that made me roar! Seriously mr stunt!

We managed to reach the holy grail of 12 hours 7-7!!! Am in shock!!

Kyzordz · 28/05/2013 08:57

morning all Smile Brew for the many shitty nights! one wake up for the dummy at 4:15 so a good one here.

pass e's doughnut helped him tonnes too, he got lots better since using it.

Good idea daisy I'll leave bread for a bit. toast is scary enough!

elyza is much better thanks bplp, not sure if there's anything they can do to tweak her meds as I still feel she is quite uncomfortable usually half hour before she's due her next feed for whatever reason. she has various wedges on the way because she will dribble or spurt sick within minutes of lying flat. seconds sometimes! she is on the whole lots better though and hasn't stopped breathing since she's been home. mum is still very paranoid though.

I think weaning is going pretty well :) sometimes he doesn't want to know, which is fine. usually he does which is fab, I offer food three times a day unless its too close to an upcoming bottle or he is tired. he will eat anything from an hour after a bottle to an hour before the next but any closer and he just isn't interested. usually he feeds himself either with a loaded spoon or finger foods but occasionally he lets me. I just basically try to keep it varied, not shit myself when he gags and care as little as possible when he doesn't want food. hopefully we're doing ok, seems ok to me so far!

did you get any sleep chasing?

stunt lol at your dp, is it really so hard?

glad your dp realised just how much you do vq!!

raining here today. need a wee but cba to get out of bed!

BigPigLittlePig · 28/05/2013 08:58

Oh bloody hell sophia, that sounds hideous

Think I'll wait til I've seen the dietitian then.

Well done PikzJunior

ChasingDaisy · 28/05/2013 09:04

Well done babyPikz!

VQ am glad the penny has finally dropped for your DH!

kyz I got a little sleep thank you, but very restless due to koala clinging to my face. He slept 10:30-4.00 though which is good.

6 months old today and starting weaning in earnest. Toast and water in a sippy cup for breakfast when he wakes from this nap.

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/05/2013 09:46

Help!

I have a very infected and impacted 3 wisdom teeth. I'm on Amoxicillin, but since I started them J has been really fussy with bfing, pulling away and crying even though he's hungry, he's also had really dark, foul smelling, loose poos. What do I do? I'm not quite ready to give up bfing!

TheDetective · 28/05/2013 09:48

Woah. I slept like a log that had been given sleeping pills.

Apparently O fed in the night. Apparently I woke DP up to do this. I have no recollection at all. I must have slept so fucking well!!! Grin

O didn't stir (or was heard!) til 8.30, and DP got up and fed him again while I woke up slowly! Then I got up with him at 9. I feel great! Shame it's fucking miserable outside though!

After the disaster of a start to last night, there was just the one further wake up at 3.30 for a feed.

Can I have a rant please? I requested O's repeat prescription on wednesday even though we only got the new formula on Tuesday. You have to wait 48 hours for it, and then it's not in stock until the next day, so it all takes on average 3 days. Put the px in the chemist Friday, and went to collect on Saturday. There was only 2 tubs when I requested 4 on the online form. Well, 2 tubs last 4-5 days here. And it was a bank hol weekend. So we have enough milk til tomorrow. However, when I spoke to the chemist they said they won't be able to get it til Thursday quite possibly. They said to ri ng the GP urgently on Tuesday to tell them they had made a mistake, and get the repeat issued as urgent in the morning, so they can at least try and get the milk for tomorrow.

So, I rang first thing, and spoke to Ms Snotty Receptionist. I explained the above, and how I had requested 4 tubs, but only prescribed 2. You would think - the error at their end = making sure they rectify it pretty damn quick. No, the response was along the lines of, we'll try and sort it, ring back after 4pm. I explained again, this is a baby formula, not available to buy, it is his only source of nutrition etc etc. Response 'sigh... well we will see what we can sort out'. So I said, 'I don't think you understand. If my child does not have this formula, he will starve. And I will be taking him to hospital and having him admitted. The prescription needs to be done today for any chance of the formula being ready for tomorrow which is WHEN HE RUNS OUT BECAUSE SOMEONE DIDN'T READ THE PRESCRIPTION'.

It's gonna be one of those days isn't it? I'm making appts for me and DS1 this afternoon anyway as I need a further sick note, and DS's eczema is particularly bad at the minute, and he needs steroids as the emoillents aren't cutting it. So once that is sorted, I will be displaying fireworks of the kind that only a mother protecting their child can muster!

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!
