Please give your baby's favourite foods so we can get some ideas from each other.

Hope everyone is well. Sorry to hear about poorly babies.
Det ((hugs))

To put the sleeping issues into context, my first was a bugger, would only sleep in with us, fed all night and just general horribleness. The birth of her brother 22 months later helped a lot. She's now 13. At weekend we don't see her before 1. If she disappears in the day, she'll be in bed. She doesn't wake up in the night, music in bed makes her go to sleep and she eats twice as much as I do.

There is light at the end of the tunnel Grin

Evil if I have learned anything this past 6 months it is that everything is a phase and things can improve overnight without warning and get worse again just as fucking quickly

Today I am very thankful that so many wonderful MNers gave birth in November 2012 and created this very special quiche. I have lurked on other PN groups and this one has something very unique about it. You will never know how much you have all helped me.

I am of course thankful for Oscar. He is just completely fucking awesome.

horseylady · 23/05/2013 20:45

Shelly - does the vom stop??!??

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2013 20:46

horsey have you spoken to anyone about the vomming? Sounds like an awful lot.

Evilwater · 23/05/2013 20:53

No worries chasing, we are all here for each other.

The hv who told me to feed more solids, less milk.

Which would be fine if he'd eat more than yogurt and maybe an Ella's kitchen or some homemade purée. Apparently porridge is no more. Finger food he loves playing with, but he gags, and then voms. And it upsets me. And he wants his milk. He's not even 7 months so I don't see the rush?

Currently keeping a food and vom diary.

ShellyBobbs · 23/05/2013 20:55

Horsey with Niamh, the vomming seemed to stop when she was on 3 meals a day. Before that she would throw up absolutely everything in her stomach and because I was breastfeeding I was still constantly feeding her! It seemed to just all stop overnight.

BigPigLittlePig · 23/05/2013 20:57

Shelly I hope things improved sooner than 13 years? Grin

Evil tonight F began feeding at 6.45. She finished at 8.05 then took another 20 minutes of cuddles and rocking to get off properly. Plus a failed transfer or two. She has also suddenly become a lot trickier to get to bed, perhaps a phase?

I am thankful every second of every day for my beautiful, wonderful piglet, she is my world. And my dh is a good'un, even though he can be a pita on occasion. And I am thankful for locum GPs and their willingness to ignore practice budgets and prescribe and refer as they wish!

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2013 20:58

Ahh yes horsey sorry I remember you saying now. Must be horrible to see the gagging, O does it occasionally but luckily isn't a big vommer. Fingers crossed for you that it does get better soon.

Pikz · 23/05/2013 21:07

Horsey L eats 3 meals and at least 35oz and still voms a tiny bit. It is a lot less than we've had in a long time but that is because he takes purée and porridge so well. We are finding the trying to crawl causing a lot more vom due to instantly rolling onto stomach after milk.

Am wracking brains for suggestions. We just got advised that it was the rsv and would go eventually.

Evilwater · 23/05/2013 21:09

I hope this is just a phase, I'm doing a rapid return technique.

I love my N so much, I want to teach him so much. I want teach him how to be patient, up that money is not everything in life, but it's easier to cry in a BMW than a bike.i want to teach him how to be a descent man.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 23/05/2013 21:10

evil DS can take anything from 10 minutes to 2 hours to get down in the evening.

As I was on my own for bedtime this evening, it was the latter. Poor DD fell asleep in her bed waiting for me to finish dealing with DS so she didn't get a story or cuddle. Sad

DS's antibiotics seem to be working, he's happier and eating and drinking more usual amounts. We appear to have dropped a bottle. He has porridge in the morning, an hour after first bottle, lunch at around 1130 of 3 cubes of veg and 2 of fruit, and a supper of the same at around 5pm. Once he is fully recovered, we will get back into dairy, wheat, and protein again.

Today I am thankful for my DH. I moan a lot to him and about him, but he is a wonderful man who loves us all unconditionally, even me at my most vile. He had a lovely day with the children today, I had a good day at work, and so today has taught me that our situation does work for us, and we are lucky to have that.

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2013 21:36

PR excellent blog post. I have bookmarked to read the rest of them.

daisychain76 · 23/05/2013 21:42

Madam your dh sounds lovely. Sorry to hear there is so much illness round and so little sleep. Totally the wrong way round.

Evil H is another one who takes 45 mins/an hour to settle. l have tv on very quietly and time it so l can watch The Big Bang Theory on E 4+1!

I am wondering if prem babies have sleep regressions, etc to their corrected age as H seems to be at the same stage as a lot of the others here.

Can?t quite get David Attenborough as a secret crush, but it reminded me l was a bit obsessed with Michael Palin the first year l had ds1! Must have watched his Around the World in 80 Days about 10 times Blush

Love reading peoples hopes for their dcs. l think l would like mine to keep their sense of enthusiasm and sense that things are possible, to be compassionate and thoughtful, to stand up for what they believe in and follow their passions, but not at the expense of others.

YellowWellies · 23/05/2013 21:49

Woo yes Michael Palin too! Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 23/05/2013 22:05

Thank you Blush

Kyzordz · 23/05/2013 22:31

Hey all. So sorry to read of poorly babies, hope they all get better soon

thankyou for more kind words yoy are all lovely, really fucking lovely. Since her meds elyza hasnt stopped breathing. Over 24 hours now! She is also arching less and is more content. Yw her cot is on a tilt, she is kept upright for 30 mins after a feed, anything less and she voms atm. Having said that she has only vommed twice since the meds compared to 16 times the day before and 8 hours she was nil by mouth so thats a fair bit of vom. She is breastfedm my mum says thankyou from the bottom of her heart for your knowledgeable advice and for the lovely thoughts from you all.

Mum is concerned elyza is snotty and congested yet her swabs say no viruses, plus her blood oxygen levels and heart rate drop really low when she is in a deep sleep.

eric has been such a good boy considering and clearly misses his food as 8oz bottles go in a record time of 4 mins. Bless him he is used to me being his primary carer but it has bern dp and mil plus his routine has gone to pot because of hospital visits etc

hate it when he gags and esp if he voms. Hope he hasn't forgotten how to eat!

Dixiebell · 23/05/2013 22:39

I'd like my boys to find what fulfills them and makes them happy, and for them to love their mummy always. Grin

ValiumQueen · 23/05/2013 22:47

kyz snot goes hand in hand with CMPI.

horsey I think he needs meds to help with reflux now solids are in the picture. I would cut back on solids and see your GP. It is not like you to swear like that, even on a Wednesday (((hug)))

Thank you for your kind words about Jacob. He is mostly very brave, but can scream fucking loud with the fucking reflux.

I am thankful for this quiche but little else as I have had a fucking awful day. Reflux back big time. Awful. Appetite better today, and with it comes the demon reflux. I will be seeing the Dr tomorrow and getting this sorted once and for fucking all! So fed up with his treatment.

I still feel pretty rough. Earlier J was finally asleep on my lap and I was coughing so hard I ended up sitting in my own piss for 45 minutes. Bloody horrible. I will ask Dr to check me over too tomorrow I promise.

I have realised that life is too short to wash shitty toddler pants. Boo continues to poo in her knickers, so I cut a pair off her tonight. A princess pair. She was mortified. I had to be quick though as J was hysterical and DH at work. Maybe she will think twice about dropping her load next time. (They were hand-me-downs)

And DD1 dropped DD2 on her head. I nearly shit myself! How she did not break her neck I do not know.

And DH is tired.

ValiumQueen · 23/05/2013 22:48

I want my kids to grow up and leave home Grin before I go senile.

YellowWellies · 23/05/2013 22:53

Kyz, Mummykyz and the two wee Es - sending lots of love and hoping you're all home soon.

VQ gorgeous lady time for the big guns - get omeperazole. I'm on it too now and its good shit! No side effects of note here.

Elizadoesdolittle · 23/05/2013 22:55

I'd like both my girls to grow up confident, independent, respectful, loyal and kind. Just like their mum Smile

Tonight's going to be interesting. E pulled her tube out right after bath time which is before her bedtime feed. It was a bit too late to take her to the hospital to get it repassed. DH was working late and I couldn't face bundling them both in the car to the hospital so I'll take her first thing. So far she's stayed asleep all evening but she will be skipping 2 tube feeds so I'm not expecting a great night.

You can all share my sleepy dust. Night night.

Elizadoesdolittle · 23/05/2013 22:58

vq sorry you are having a shit time but your comment about your kids leaving home really made me smile.

PurplePidjin · 23/05/2013 23:22

and Brew all round.

R woke about 15 minutes before i got in from work so hoping for some kip before next feed. Except i chucked myself down the stairs just now and my arm hurts Angry

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2013 23:40

Last night he managed 7 hours, tonight 2.5....Sad
