Lessons for today.

  1. weetabix is not an appropriate finger food
  2. dried on weetabix is the devils work to remove.
kirrinIsland · 13/05/2013 10:56

Weetabix is like bloody concrete when it dries! I've learnt that lesson several times so clearly I haven't learnt that lesson at all

Waiting in for the bloody plumber. He was supposed to be here between 8 and 10, and then he rings at 10.45 to say he's running late Confused Well yes, I'd worked that out for myself.

The dogs just went for their jabs and the vet told DP that one of them is perfect for breeding from. So now he's keen to do it. I could cheerfully murder the vet right now - we need puppies like we need a bloody hole in the head. I have stipulated that there is no way in hell we are keeping one.

Chasing given that F and O appear to have been separated at birth, it is not unusual that F has discovered her feet this morning. She is sat on my lap clutching her right foot with this expression - - -> Shock on her fizzog.

FatimaLovesBread · 13/05/2013 11:06

Morning all!! Back from our lovely holiday and it's currently hailing Hmm
Can't believe there's been 1300 posts since I went on hols, got a lot to catch up on along with the washing and trying to get M back in to a routine. Anyone care to summarise what I've missed?

Holiday was fab, M loved it. Gorgeous weather but the pool was a little cold. M loved the baby pool as sitting in her rubber ring meant her feet touched the bottom, she had a whale of a time zipping about like a blow up dodgem.

She also decided to try her hand at baby led weaning. Loved grabbing bits of melon and sucking on the them etc. so not sure whether to start weaning now or not. She more or less sitting too, just gets tired and wobbles over after a bit but she's holding herself better and for longer.

Took lots of photos (about 350 on my iPhone) so I'll post some on FB.

How is everyone? Good I hope.

MsJupiterJones · 13/05/2013 11:22

Love the broody app. Can it also press random buttons while you are trying to MN during feeds?

Stunt sorry to hear about J. Must have been really scary. Sounds like you dealt with it v calmly despite what you were feeling inside.

Pass have you tried squishing the pear onto the toast? L loves it, makes the toast softer to gum on. Most breakfasts are now squished fruit on toast.

Tried to make porridge fingers this morning but L had a meltdown (overtired) so left them in the bowl. Pretty sure they will be welded there forever now. Might just throw the bowl away.

Elizadoesdolittle · 13/05/2013 11:42

Stunt - poor j and poor you! Sounds like you coped well. Glad j is ok now.

Fatima - welcome back. Glad you had fun.

Going to put E into her own room tonight. Can't really put it off much longer. I think we will probably all sleep better if she's not with us. I'm not looking forward to getting out of bed to do the feeds but I'm hoping that if I don't bring her into bed with me the feeds will be done quicker and we will get back to sleep easier.

GTbaby · 13/05/2013 11:50

Darn. Had to feed LO mid catchup so forgotten some stuff.

Horsey how r u generally doing? Have u been riding? (I've been struggling to keep up so sry if you've updated since your fall)

Stunt Shock what is general advice if this happens? I would have gone to A&E.Blush.
anyone able to advice on what to do at which stage of reaction.

Sucky nights for so many of you Thanks

Bry- so cute. Crying baby! But you were a mean kid Wink too funny.

Sofia. Supermum!

Nappy change interruption no hope in remembering what I've missed now!

ChasingDaisy · 13/05/2013 11:53

Gosh stunt that must have been terrifying. So glad J is ok now. Is that likely to be an ongoing allergy for him now?

pig yet more evidence that O and F were indeed separated at birth. He can't get his feet in his mouth yet, he's too long.

Want to get him weighed soon as I think he is having a growth spurt. He is currently asleep on me with one eye half open. Freaky.

Good night last night. 7.30-12.15 , 1.00-5.00 and 5.10-7.25 in with me. I gave him a diluted feed at 5 and he didn't seem to notice any difference.

Will be trying courgette for lunch today with a side of babycorn. Have been wondering what to do for breakfasts as anything spoonfed is a no go. Puree on toast is a great idea JJ, will be trying that. I can try toast with him at 6 months right? Any other BLW breakfast ideas?

ChasingDaisy · 13/05/2013 11:56

GT I wouldn't have known what to do either. I should really as P is allergic to peanuts, but he doesn't take it as seriously as I should. I have been nagging him to get an epi pen.

ChasingDaisy · 13/05/2013 11:56

*as he should

fruitpastilles · 13/05/2013 12:15

stunt I wouldn't have had a clue what to do if that was S, how scary! I'm glad J is ok now.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/05/2013 12:20

For non-medical mummys, I would be inclined to say - any allergic rashes, see the GP. Any swelling or wheezing I would go to A&E.

Fatima I'm glad you had a lovely time, looking forward to seeing some photos.

F currently asleep on me, I'm picking dried weetabix off her hands where the wet wipe missed. Nice. Glamorous!

fruitpastilles · 13/05/2013 12:25

S has just full on vommed ALL OVER ME I mean everywhere, it's all in my hair that I've just pissing washed all down my arms, legs, the front of my top and my boobies, not a drop on her. Then she looked at me and done this face Grin. Little bleeder.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/05/2013 12:28

Not really gt but I can dream. I hobble through my week hoping that I don't cock anything up or forget something. At the mo both boys in bed. dS2 doesn't really want to be there but tough. I need to reset myself. [grimace emoticon]

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/05/2013 12:41

Oh dear. I think the ads f a lunch time snooze for DS1 are over. Sad

GTbaby · 13/05/2013 12:44

Oh yeah. Fatima n jing welcome back.

I have such a lazy eater! I tried to give him toast with banana puree ontop. First finger good attempt. Not interested at all. When I put it to his mouth he ate/sucked/chewed. But nothing I could do encouraged him to hold it himself. Will keep trying.

GTbaby · 13/05/2013 14:11

Where is everybody ????

ChasingDaisy · 13/05/2013 14:20

I'm here! Just got me and O settled for his big nap and now to relax for a couple of hours.

Hel liked courgette. Well, he liked squishing it between his fingers. No idea if anything actually got consumed. Kyz
I did sticks rather than discs in the end.

I really need to get some of those bibs that cover everything. Where would I find them?

ChasingDaisy · 13/05/2013 14:21

Good allergy advice pig thank you.
