(Giggles at pelic floor comment) shhhhhhh she's only just settling again and I need to brush my teeth. Mind you, 3 hours?!?!?

Thanks sophia I'm sure the shame is worse. I suspect I'll get slightly batchy emails all week trying to prove she's fine. Then phone calls. She's not secure at the best if times love her. Time to make a long trip to see her with flowers abs granddaughter I suspect.

KatieLily12 · 12/05/2013 21:19

daisy we roasted disks with a small amount of rapeseed oil. She couldn't get enough. She sucked all the flesh out then spat back out skins. It was quite alarming actually

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/05/2013 21:21

yw I love Kintyre. I love the contrast between the sheltered and green east cost (Carradale and Grogport) and the more rampant west coast love Machrihanish. Failing that Skye. That would do me thank you.

Right I am going to disappear back into my black hole. Let's see if ican keep up this week.

A bit.

TheDetective · 12/05/2013 21:21

Katie I just got dragged out the cot by DP.

I got in. Got stuck. I am a twat. Desperate times call for desperate measures though! Really need to check maximum weight for said cot before attempting such stuff though...

He's fucking well asleep for now though. Hmm

He went down like a dream. I kept him up from 4, and like you YW he just had 2 naps today, first one was just over an hour, second one 1hr 45.

But we've still had 2 wake ups and 2 failed transfers since. Hmm

DS1 woke him jumping off his motherfucking bed.

Is it sweary wednesday yet?!

ChasingDaisy · 12/05/2013 21:22

Yep Katie. I am sofa pinned for most naps and he has a long old sleep in the afternoon. I watch a lot of daytime tv and refresh this thread MN a lot.

I think roast would go down well. Bit of a stronger taste for him to enjoy.

TheDetective · 12/05/2013 21:23

Grin sophia!!

chasing I steamed them. I cut them in to round slices, then cut them in half again, so they were like half moons! He could get his chops around them easily!

O's broccoli is being sent digitally as we speak! I knew he had to turn his nose up at something along the way Grin. I think I'll just try him with finger trees food.

horseylady · 12/05/2013 21:25

det broccoli hater here. During the 6 months issues. He eats it now. Strange?!

katie how awful. I must say its a huge worry of mine with fil. He's so lonely I think he'd believe a lot. Shame. Hope it's sorted.

My black out blinds are shit. I need dark curtains too.z

YellowWellies · 12/05/2013 21:29

Katie I'm sofa bound for naps too - also just a couple of weeks ago in the midst of regression hell we were getting 4 - 5 hours max a night. I'm so grateful to be beyond that one!

TheDetective · 12/05/2013 21:30

I have blackout curtains. I need blackout everything. My house is directly east facing. My room and O's room are at the front.

Fucking sun!!

Pikz · 12/05/2013 21:32

Katie I'm so sorry that is awful Hmm

Det I think cots are pretty strong as my 6ft7 DP gets in LO.

I get pinned to sofa at least one nap a day. He has however decided that naps are for the weak and the dead. He clocked up maybe an hour in total today.

So I'm home and back in baby heaven and DP had to go Hmm we have both cried this week over leaving LO.

KatieLily12 · 12/05/2013 21:33

Lol at det in cot. Realising some advantages to planned cosleeping! Except she now wants all the bed. Last night she slept with her palm in my face to be sure I didn't dare get any closer. Yet I just cuddle her to sleep or face her wrath. Oh she is a cruel mistress!

That's an interesting word horsey: lonely. She's injured herself and was housebound and then we moved further away . I think loneliness has been a real problem and I'd not thought of it that way. She's so savvy in so many ways is what I keep thinking about. I just can't understand it.

Kyzordz · 12/05/2013 21:33

Evening all,

I keep trying to post but never have any time, e is still Velcro baby bless him. Thanks for the calpol tips, back of the cheek and blowing in his face works best so far although it still isn't easy. He's drinking a bit better with persuasion, think he has managed about 24oz today so far and FCC will take at least 4 at the df. Thanks for asking how we are chasing, I would like to think we're over the worst of it but I highly doubt it :(

Once again I cannot remember what any of you have put, as usual there is tons I want to reply to but my brain cant do the app and net type read and post thing I sometimes do. I am tired. Honestly don't know how some of you do it!

Is f ok bplp?

Glad to hear many of you are doing well with weaning :) am sticking to the notion e will never want food. That way I will be pleasantly surprised when he does start to eat more rather than upset that he isn't eating. Too scared to give him toast etc still. Mind, he's not getting anything until he's better.

katie that's awful :(

pass sounds like p is doing brilliantly with her grub bless her :)

Sorry quiche my head cannot remember fuck all else :(

Need summink to cheer me up. It's all been a bit down and dreary here of late.

BigPigLittlePig · 12/05/2013 21:34

Our room is east facing. We have cream curtains. We currently have a brown fleece and a red fleece draped over them which achieves a boudoire look, but stops F waking up at 4.30 when the sun starts to rise.

Kyzordz · 12/05/2013 21:37

Millions of posts whilst I wrote that!

I need to try courgette. Would the disc type shape not be a choking hazard or am I just being way too paranoid?

TheDetective · 12/05/2013 21:38

The upstairs of my house is slowly evolving in to a cave. I swear.

O's curtains never get opened any more. No point you see!

There are things designed for trapping babies in to sleep, and tripping adults up everywhere Hmm.

TheDetective · 12/05/2013 21:39

Kyz he sucked on it as you would an orange, and sucked the flesh out of the skin! So should be fine if supervised!

He seems to prefer finger foods this way if possible!

BigPigLittlePig · 12/05/2013 21:39

Kyz F is much much better today, thanks for asking. This cold seemed to hit her much harder than the one she had earlier in the year, but also has coincided with some developmental shit, and dropping feeds. Which all combined has aged me about 10 years. I really hope E starts to feel better soon. I think you may have seen the sweet potato mess I posted on fb - she likes to try to feed herself purees, so perhaps you could try that when E's better. She had some banana today at the party, and was quite happy chomping away, when someone said to me, "she's got quite a bit bit in her mouth". Yep, about a thumb size piece. I had to act all calm outside - "ho ho, yes, well, she'll spit it out in a minute" whilst inside I was screaming "fuuuuuuuuck". She was, of course, fine.

Kyzordz · 12/05/2013 22:01

Oh ok, cool :) I'll try that then, just thin flat discs with skin still on, roasted or steamed.

I am not looking forward to weaning, probably because with him being Ill the bottle feeds are hard enough. Food seems daunting again. I really really hope that once he feels better he will drink better and we can get back on the food wagon.

bplp I'd die. I am so crap. I did see the pics it looks like little pig enjoyed herself thoroughly! I do let e take the spoon sometimes, I have given up caring about mess, but I don't know if he would actually eat anything this way. I suppose it's not supposed to be a big worry right now though is it

BigPigLittlePig · 12/05/2013 22:09

Kyz it's taken a while for her to "get it" but now she knows the spoon has something rather tasty on it, she's keen. Very keen. She's a bit pants at finger food though. E will get there, all of a sudden. Just keep offering something when you eat, and he'll decide to join you one day.

horseylady · 12/05/2013 22:21

I can't do this any more.

Hopefully I'll be ok after some sleep.

I just can't see how the fuck we can carry on like this?? Not when I go back to work?

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/05/2013 22:29

Kyz Just perserve with it. E has been ill so it's bound to effect weaning. When my E had chickenpox weaning went down hill but just in the past couple of days something has clicked and she has come on in leaps and bounds. E will get there. There's no rush!

TheDetective · 12/05/2013 22:43

Horsey I feel like that for a multitude of reasons.

What is bothering you? :(

Dixiebell · 12/05/2013 22:45

Almost managed to reply to toomany's (I think) question earlier to say we haven't started weaning yet. Ted is 23 weeks. But this afternoon he grabbed my half eaten apple and slivered all over it frantically. He shoves everything into his mouth anyway, but obviously enjoyed the taste, so I feel a bit mean denying him any longer! Actually it was ds1's half eaten apple, which I seas finishing off. Now that's economical eating, one apple between 3! I was going to wait until after our French holiday at beg June, to make life easier..but he will actually be 27 weeks by time we get back so maybe that's a bit late.

Dixiebell · 12/05/2013 22:46

Slobbered, not slivered.

kirrinIsland · 12/05/2013 23:17

I'm with you horsey How long til you go back to work?

We have gone from finally sleeping 8-2 and then waking every 2 hours to waking at 22.30, 00.30, 2ish, 4ish and up for the day at 6. I was sooo in denial about the 6 month regression, especially as the 4 month one went on from 10-22 weeks. If I ever mention having a third do me a favour and shoot me.
