Hi to all the lovely Feb babies - thought I would start a new thread as my darling DS's mummy needs loads of helpful hints and advice as she stumbles around with no idea of anything!

DS has just got to that really sweet stage where everything is wonderful, giggling and laughing a lot and giving out kisses to all - really cute - am really enjoying him. He walks around the house entirely convinced that he is the best thing since sliced bread and it is wonderful to watch!

Wow Coolmama - all 10 bricks? Thats WAY advanced- they are menat to be able to do 3 I think by 18 months :-)

Great boast

dreamteamgirl · 21/07/2006 23:02

Aww TB, sorry to hear such a rough week? whats he been up to?

dreamteamgirl · 21/07/2006 23:04

Agree the slapping thing is a stage, but I do think they need to know it isnt right. We did very short remove from play and time outs for biting (just one minute, obviously, on a rug) and it worked a treat. We just said no once, and the 2nd time moved him away and explained why.

Coolmama · 21/07/2006 23:10

I might give the "remove" thing a go with regards to the slapping - just put him down for a bit and see what happens = good idea, thanks

TB - sorry to hear you've had arough week - hope the weekend is better.

Hey all

Week was rough due to tiredness, the heat and DS hitting and biting.
However I've had a childfree weekend and feel almost refreshed! I went off on a hen do for a Uni mate

How was everyone's weekend?

TheBlonde · 05/09/2006 15:43

Hi TB - are we the only two left on here ? - how are you feeling and when is baby due? - am getting all broody thinking about a new baby!

OP posts:
TheBlonde · 14/09/2006 19:44

Hiya, yeah it's possibly just us

Feeling tired and sick still. 14 weeks now so baby is due mid March

How are you doing? How is your LO?

Coolmama · 14/09/2006 20:02

Sorry you feel sick - can't imagine that is much fun - We are all really good at the moment - DS is going through that really sweet stage where everyone gets hugs! - he is obsessed with watching his dad get ready for work, the whole shave 'n shower routine and brings him his phone, glasses, blackberry etc - his only other obsession is the washing machine - he could pack and unpack it all day long - babbling away and just learnt to nod his head -
i am amazed at how quickly he is changing and growing - literally before my eyes!

The Blonde, congratulations! I'm still here just not very often. Never seem to have the time after work and sorting dd out. She is obsessed with climbing at the mo, its driving me mad! We seem to of cracked the sleep problems, only taken 18 months!

TheBlonde · 18/09/2006 19:48

Hello pjsmum! Glad to hear sleep is good now

Coolmama - I think the toddler stage is really fun, they are so interested in everything.

Coolmama · 19/09/2006 16:01

DH nearly passed out at the lunch table on Sunday after DS looked at me very sweetly and then said "F$%K" while waving his fork at me - he is clearly trying to say the word fork, but it's coming out wrong - I managed to ignore it because have heard him do it before, but it was a first for DH - had a good laugh!

dreamteamgirl · 19/09/2006 16:48

Wow congrats TB. Thats wonderful for you!!

All okish here. Been on holiday, Centreparcs and had a blast. Met up with a mum from my 'other' Feb 05 mums club and her DD which was awesome. Sam had loads of fun, but was poorly for 2 days which was a real shame.

I think he has also given it to me GRRRRR. Mind if he felt how I feel now, then I feel guilty about having less sympathy when he was waking up all night one night.

Only other news is I have had my gall bladder whipped out under GA 6 weeks ago following endless dealys and got an all clear from liver biobsy they did at same time YAY

Coolmama, LMAO at 'fork', clever DS!

Coolmama · 19/09/2006 19:44

Hi DTG - so glad to hear your good news - am sure you are very happy!
Very envious of your other Feb 05 club - I am slowly starting to get a group of mums together with other kids around the same age as DS - it is a little difficult because I am the only one of my friends with a toddler and so feel a bit like the new kid at school trying to make new friends - again! - but it is slowly happening - at one point I was convinced that my DS would be the only child without friends until kindergarden!
Another girlfriend also called today to say she is expecting her first baby - and that, together with TB's news has me feeling very broody! - do we, don't we, do we, don't we......??

CM, getting broody huh? Dangerous business that LOL

You are welcome to pop over to my 'other' board \link{http://messageboards.ivillage.co.uk/iv-ukpbfeb05\here] -hopefully its allowed to post it

I dont have many Real Life friends with kids -mostly they are from the net, but I have met lots of other Feb mums which is great fun. Missed a meet up at Kew today, which am disapointed about.

Congrats to your friend!!

Thanks also, am dead chuffed by all my results

Coolmama · 19/09/2006 20:29

thanks for the post - if I can detatch myself from MN, I will visit!

TheBlonde · 28/09/2006 21:06

Hello ladies, hope you are keeping that broodiness in check

I feel I have achieved very little this week and DS appears to be starting with tantrums

We went out this afternoon to the High St for a haircut. He failed to sit still and the hairdresser was inexperienced with the under 5s so he now has a crap haircut

I left the buggy at home as I want to see how much walking he'll do before I have to face the dreaded double buggy dilemma. The High St is a 5 min (adult) walk. He disagreed with my choice of route 4 times and sat down and kicked his legs 4 times!!!! The best one being in the entrance to Sainsburys where he also yelled . Passersby looked very amused!

Coolmama · 03/10/2006 08:42

Hey TB - definitely sounds like fun and games at the moment! - poor DS with "crap" haircut - my DS does not have enough hair to cut - in fact I don't think he will have a haircut before about 3!!
I think we have also started with the tantrums-
not too bad at the moment, but does not bode well for later!! I get the quivery lip, he walks a few steps away from me and then lies down on the floor and has a fit - all the time checking to see if I'm watching him!! So for now, just ignoring him brings it all to a short and sharp stop, but I am not looking forward to this battle of wills!

pjsmum · 04/10/2006 19:38

Hi all. We have had tantrums for ages now, really full on. I have to stop myself laughing at her as she throws herself backwards onto the floor. Get a bit worried though as i can see her banging her head but dont want to stop her as ignoring her seems to work( for the mo anyway!) Are they suppose to have a 18 month check with the HV or have i made that up?

Coolmama · 04/10/2006 19:47

If they were supposed to have an 18 month check-up, then, oops, missed that one completely!

OP posts:
TheBlonde · 05/10/2006 18:08

Next check up is 2 years according to the red book

Have any of your LOs had or been offered the new pneumo jab yet?

Coolmama · 05/10/2006 18:50

Nope - will check with the peadie, but haven't heard anything specific - when should they have it?

OP posts:
TheBlonde · 05/10/2006 19:03

They should get a catch up jab before 2 apparently

pjsmum · 05/10/2006 19:42

Thanks for that. Was having a 'i am useless' moment! Well i still am as i cant find her red book! Oh well if check isnt til 2 then ive got 5 months to find it. I've not had anything about the new jab but was told/heard that they should get offered it before they are two.
