Oh meringue I missed your news, how exciting! Do you know what kind of a wedding you'll have?

CreepyCrawly · 13/05/2013 15:11

That's lovely meringue! So exciting. I love weddings :D

Meringue33 · 13/05/2013 15:33

Thanks guys, really excited now! Going to have a short service at church, and am looking into a country pub for the reception. There are going to be so many babies! Thinking of organising a bouncy castle or crèche or something. I'm hoping LO will be able to walk by then so he can be the ring bearer - he'll be 17 months.

Angielka · 13/05/2013 16:20

Oh meringue how lovely. My brother got married when DD1 was 18 months and she and another little one were flower girls - they had nothing important to do - just walk up the aisle looking cute and I got so nervous about her freezing half way or just refusing to go or whatever. She was perfect though! Proud mummy moment. Your little one will be just the right age.

louise you do what you feel is right for you and isn't harming the baby - I'm going to wait but only because I'm lazy and determined not to do purees this time but BLW instead. Advice changes all the time - pick and choose!

Sorry to all you sleep-deprived girls. birdies don't blame yourself and stop the guilt! Easier said than done I know but sleeping is not due to what we mere parents do - the kids have all the control Hmm Molly's been a good sleeper but due to teeth/cold/growth spurt/way the wind blows we had two wake ups last night and I did not change a thing!

Louise85 · 13/05/2013 16:22

Sorry haven't read new comments/threads - but just got back from library with ds & dd...so she looked at me and said you're busy with 3!!!!! Meaning one in my belly!!! I know I'm still fat and sheesh feel guilty about it in anycase, but I was carrying a 16 week old ffs....so hacked off - feel so fat and ugly as is without comments like that!

Angielka · 13/05/2013 16:29

Oh no louise! Are you sure she meant your belly? Maybe she was confusing you with someone else evil old cow what did you say in response?? I have a huuuuge belly and started cutting out chocolate today let's see how long that lasts but how can people be so ridiculously rude and unthoughtful!

Pascha · 13/05/2013 18:06

Just home from our weekend away in which it basically rained the whole time and DS1 puked copious amounts down my top on saturday afternoon and was still poorly most of sunday so we went precisely nowhere.

The hot tub and 5* barn more than made up for it though.

Hope everyone elses weekends were as nice and less vomity.

Birdies · 13/05/2013 19:32

Thanks everyone.

louise how rude of her. I think most of us probably look pregnant still though. I definitely have a belly left even though I've lost lots if weight. I would be mad if anyone commented on it though!

apple hope Ivy feels better soon.

How exciting meringue!

Oh no pascha, what a shame. At least it was a nice place to stay. Did your DS get to splash about in the hot tub?

Pascha · 13/05/2013 20:07

No way! Ds1 was entirely unaware of the existence of it! Can you imagine having to apologise to the owners that the tub is unusable due to toddler sick Shock? I think it's not suitable for little children anyway. We used it after bedtime and early morning.

Louise what a horrible comment. Ignore it, we all know it's bollocks so have a
glass of wine and forget about it.

Congratulations meringue. we hada 20month old flower girl who had started walking only weeks before. She was mischievous at that ageso we played it safe with her strapped into a booster seat with a bucket of petals to throw as we passed her - right decision as she chucked it everywhere Smile

Good luck.

Pascha · 13/05/2013 20:22

Little bugger! Ds1 is still chatting to himself an hour after bedtime Hmm. That's what being stuck in a carseat for near on 6 hours does obviously.

Dan is fast asleep like all good little babies should be...

lollipoppi · 13/05/2013 20:37

Help! DD is sobbing her little heart out, she has hardly taken any of her feeds at all today, only had 10oz in total, everytime I put the bottle near her mouth she starts crying! Hmm
What's going on!?

lollipoppi · 13/05/2013 20:37

Ps Louise, the woman is a cowbag !

CreepyCrawly · 13/05/2013 20:39

Hot tub sounds lovely Pascha. I'm craving a steam room session recently.

Well, Nancy is asleep in the bedroom. She almost never goes down before 9 and this is the first time I haven't gone to bed either with her, or very shortly after. Expecting tonight to be the night everything changes!

She found her voice this evening, and spent about 45 minutes shouting at the ceiling.

Fingers crossed for good nights all round!

Pascha · 13/05/2013 21:02

lolli have you tried some nurofen a few minutes before a feed?

lollipoppi · 13/05/2013 21:05

Nope not nurofen, but did give her some teething granules.
Just managed to get 3oz in her, she has been like this all week Hmm

Creepy sounds like a good nights ahead! Celebratory glass of wine is in order!!

Birdies · 13/05/2013 21:14

Yeah good point pascha, and more importantly might have ruined your experience of the hot tub if you had to watch sick bubbles bobbing about...

Ah lolli the poor little thing. Has she got a temp? Could it be teeth?

X is asleep an hour earlier thank normal! I think she really needs an earlier bedtime, she gets very tired around 8pm....maybe that's the secret....

Wishing everyone (including myself!) a better nights sleep!

AppleCrumples · 13/05/2013 21:41

Have no hope for tonight :( ivy went down fine at 7.30 up at 8.30 screaming calpol (mostly) in just gone back down. It may be a long night. She is not well poor thing. I hate this i want to take it away so she can be well and happy again :(

happyhow · 14/05/2013 07:01

Up and down like a bloody yoyo again.

glorious · 14/05/2013 08:20

oh happy Sad We were just up, she slept 930-1130 then alternated feeding and thrashing about with wind until 7 when I got DH to take her downstairs over his breakfast.

Hope things calmed down apples .

Hormonalhell · 14/05/2013 08:59

Louise ive been giving Charlie little tastes of porridge, bananas, fruit purée just to let him taste stuff and he really is showing an interest in what I eat. He seems to be enjoying it so I don't feel bad n he's 17 weeks now.

He been full of cold and just changed his formula so have been holding off on food for past couple of days and he woke at 2 last night and gobbled a 6oz feed so Deffo think he benefitting from food!

Apples Charlie got a cough, it's awful watching them cough n feel off colour isnt it Hmm I've been same tho and suspect I gave him it

Birdies · 14/05/2013 09:17

Same here, worst night yet. Feeding every 1.5 hours. Think I'm going to try a formula feed. I feel jet lagged, without the holiday :(

Hope the poorly babies feel better soon...

AppleCrumples · 14/05/2013 10:09

Poor thing fed on ans off all night but thankfulky slept between feeds. Is sneezing, crying, dribbling, coughing and pooping since we got up and refuses to take the calpol. Not sure how i got the dcs to school

and ds2 is off after saying he felt rotten earlier and i didn't want to take any chances as clearly something is going round. He seems fine though. Quite well and bouncy actually Hmm

CreepyCrawly · 14/05/2013 10:09

Sorry to those of you still having rubbish nights, and those if you with unwell little ones. It's awful when they're ill isn't it, they look so sorry for themselves.

Had a lousy night here, and not even because of Nancy. I just couldn't sleep at all.

DH is picking up a jumperoo this afternoon so looking forward to that.

Hope you all have good days, and that you have better weather than we have here!

Meringue33 · 14/05/2013 10:11

Thanks guys. Lots to plan, am enjoying looking at dresses, it's a new diversion while bf.

Hope the poorly babies get well and everyone gets more sleep. This LO is def teething and it is affecting his feeding. He was also up in middle of the night for a big feed and then was in a vg mood, wanted to play and insisted we participate or was grumpy. Once again took about two hours to resettle.

Angielka · 14/05/2013 10:26

We had the calpol and teething granules out last night too [yawn] my lovely little baby has gone from sleeping through waking faaaaaar too often for my liking. Thinking it's a growth spurt for sure, but coupled with achey teeth and a cold...

Hope you're all having a good day. Mine is packed as DH away for the day for work.
