I have mashed up a quarter of a banana - the dog ate the rest. We're starting by smelling it.

glendathefedupwitch · 05/03/2013 07:07

vq ahhhhh to have handy skills - in sure you could make one v easily - it's like a banana shape with long bits either end to tie around waist - it's filled with the polystyrene beads which have flattened over past 4 months so have ordered a new insert of poly beads.

Dottie has rolled from front to back a couple of times by accident

Dottie has has a couple of cute laugh out loud moments but they are very rare and never on camera lol

stunt what kind of pain are you experiencing when bf'ing?? I still get pain on latch and believe its from vasospasm - I either end up with purple nipples or blanched white ones!!

glendathefedupwitch · 05/03/2013 07:14

Oh and no self settling here either she either feeds to sleep, falls a sleep over my shoulder or in the car seat. We tried her in the cot on her tummy last week and she almost self settled then the dog came up clip clopping on the laminate floor grrrrrr so will keep trying that but I can't complain as she consistently sleeps well at night

PetiteRaleuse · 05/03/2013 07:28

I'll try and record LO screeching and laughing at some point. It's funny, but painful on the poor ears.

Well she has had a tiny bit of banana. Funny series of facial expressions. Interest, confusion, dislike, hmmm it's ok, oh I quite like that, more please, same patter again, and that was enough for this morning.

StuntNun · 05/03/2013 08:11

Glenda J doesn't latch on properly, he just hoovers the nipple into his mouth. Also he tends to come off the breast repeatedly, sometimes without letting go first. And he rubs his head from side to side. So with the frequent feeding lately my nips are shredded. I seem to spend all day feeding and changing eight dirty nappies a day, it's like he's a newborn rather than a four-month old baby.

glendathefedupwitch · 05/03/2013 08:14

Awwwwww stunt that's sounds painful - D does the whole stretching nipple and pushing my boob away with her hands at the same time ouch!!! - hope bf group can give you some help x

BigPigLittlePig · 05/03/2013 08:39

I remember why I don't like going out in the evenings. It's because it totally stuffs up the nights. Snuffly, windy, poonami baby in my bed since 2.

Thanks to detective and pp and anyone else whose name I can't remember who had a rubbish night.

F doesn't laugh, roll over or self-settle. I keep telling myself it's because she's only 9 weeks corrected. Actually she does laugh sometimes. In her sleep Hmm

Thick fog here today so no cleaning needed, no chance of seeing any dust!

sweetpea1112 · 05/03/2013 08:44

Morning all,

Sorry to hear of bad nights. Brew to those in need.

Bad night here too, but am pretty sure it was due to him not feeding enough in the day yesterday. Feeds fine at night but getting fussy with the bottle in the day. Giving size two teats a try today to see if that helps. Third time lucky as the previous two attempts have made him very sicky.

My ultimate aim is for O to have all daytime naps in the cot rather than on me, so have decided to start with morning naps for a few weeks. Two attempts later and he has been asleep in his cot for 35 mins so far, giving me time for breakfast so I'm happy with that.

Beautiful day here today

misslaughalot · 05/03/2013 09:35

Babylaughalot went down at 9.30 and didn't wake until 4.20 for a feed! Best ever stretch of sleep Shock

Lilliana · 05/03/2013 09:39

Stunt we have the same - hoover latch (great description I never knew how to describe it!) pulling back without letting go, head rubbing = ouch! No idea how to stop it. If I unlatch her to latch on properly she goes straight back to how she likes it.

Sweet I need to do the same but it seems another battle and it's easier to sit and let her sleep on me! Will try today but she only sleeps for half hour max and wakes grumpy as she's still tired but refuses to go back down.

Having a day at home today :)

YellowWellies · 05/03/2013 09:40

Morning all. Great idea about the FB pics / intros given we've had an influx of newbies and I'm rubbish at remembering real names to screen names. I need to put some more pics of the wee man online - now I'm on the tablet not my macbook am rubbish at putting pics up!

Ouch Stunt Jonas does that hoover thing sometimes its fecking agony!!!

Sorry have been rubbish at keeping up - can anyone repost the mother care jumperoo code - a pal is looking for one and money off is always good!

Boo to the current sleepy dust shortage. Sad

ValiumQueen · 05/03/2013 09:43

Great news miss of course it will probably be another month before that happens again Grin

stunt ask your GP for Lanisoh on prescription and if they say no, threaten to stop bfing. Many GPs give it.

I have two new minky bamboo nappies in leopard print. Have been sat stroking my face with them (not yet used ) and they are lush!!! (Simple things)

Elizadoesdolittle · 05/03/2013 09:53

Is it sweary Wednesday yet? Oh cunt balls, it's only Tuesday! Consultant has been round and thinks its acceptable to keep us in here for fucking ever. I know they need to put a long term plan into place but for fucks sake they should start doing that now! Have a 3 year old that needs me too and whilst she is being looked after that can't go on for much longer! Whenever I mention a timescale for getting out of here they just look at me as if I'm fucking insane for even daring to ask! Ahhhhhhhhh AngryAngryAngryAngry

Right, now that rants over I agree with the fb idea. I know the regular posters names (mainly, when my brains working). Mine will be easy though, I'm the one still in fucking hospital!!

misslaughalot · 05/03/2013 09:53

Yep VQ not thinking it'll happen again any time soon but very, very grateful for last night!

Contra I'm still feeding to sleep, although now I'm not so careful about trying to keep her asleep when I transfer her to the cot. I'm now trying to wake her slightly so she goes down in the cot when she's sleepy, and then try to help her self settle back to sleep if that makes sense?

glendathefedupwitch · 05/03/2013 09:54

3rd lot of jabs today so will have a nice stroll in the sunshine!!!

Anyone good at drawing?? I need an outline of a ladybird either side on or view from the top - I got a plain spare cover for my cushion and was going to glam it up with a big ladybird made from buttons but am shite at art!!!

gardenpixie32 · 05/03/2013 09:59

Big blue skies today. We are off to the park this afternoon.

Wish it wasn't such a mission putting on two snowsuits, lugging the double buggy from the car, 2 trips up and down the stairs carrying babies. It tires me out before we have even left the house!

CandyPop · 05/03/2013 09:59

Another Hoover latcher here! She's also getting nosey whilst feeding and loses focus and starts looking round with my nipple still in mouth..OUCH!!

BigPigLittlePig · 05/03/2013 10:00

Eliza have they said whether they would let you feed E via the tube at home? Sorry you're feeling so frustrated.

misslaughalot Envy is all

F still won't nap anywhere sensible during the day. If I need her have a proper nap, I have to resign myself to anything up to 2 hours on the sofa. Whenever I try to get her to sleep on her own, she wakes up grumpy within 5 minutes. Not sure what the solution is.

Contradictionincarnate · 05/03/2013 10:03

I'm pants too Glenda should be one online? make sure you get a British one with a few dots not one of the foreign multi dot ones ... they are eating ours"!! I sound like a daily mail reader for ladybirds probably but its not the same with insects surely?
I'm up again its a nice day ... not sure whether to go to the big city or not??

ValiumQueen · 05/03/2013 10:07

Sorry eliza that is pants Sad

glenda google images is your friend.

ValiumQueen · 05/03/2013 10:08

'Ladybird outline drawing' gives lots.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 05/03/2013 10:12

I've got a tube of lansinoh if you want it stunt, I used it for the first two weeks but haven't used it since. PM me if you want it, for free of course Smile

I think Bronwen is broken now, crisp night here, boo! She also can't roll and doesn't giggle. She grins and makes a high pitched noise if that counts?

Evilwater · 05/03/2013 10:13

Sorry to read about the long and fretful nights. Brew

N was wonderful, and slept from 8- 730. Bliss. The sun is shinning, and there is a blue sky. I'm off for a shower, then for a walk up the old railway.

Evil

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 05/03/2013 10:21

Does anyone know why you shouldn't steam sterilise latex teats? I've been steam steralising the NUK one I have Confused.

Welcome to the new ladies Smile

BigPigLittlePig · 05/03/2013 10:28

Just had to rescue the cat. He was sat on top of the washing line post, very uncomfortably, with the neighbours cat lying on the ground at the foot of the post looking very smug. DH thought our cat was the local bully. It would appear this is not the case. Cat now asleep on radiator, looking much happier. Idiot.
