Cat when DH has chocolate I like to hold the bar and smell it..... sad cow eh?! Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 13/02/2013 20:26

Shame you didn't dodge projectiles from mummy pig though cat I'd kill for a proper chocolate binge rather than a pathetic crumb of the stuff.

I used to be an avid reader but 2 pages into a book and I fall asleep. Gutting as I really thought mat leave would be my chance for rereading some faves might have more time if I ignored mn though

PetiteRaleuse · 13/02/2013 20:28

Ok, I don't have measurements so just wing it. My ultimate mac 'n' cheese.

  1. Cook your pasta, and put into a suitable sized greased oven dish
  2. Fry, or grill if you have to, several rashers of bacon. I normally do 6 as they come in packets of 8, so the other 2 go to the dog as a treat. Put to one side.
  3. To make the cheese sauce. In a saucepan cook a chopped onion and a clove or two of crushed garlic in butter. Add creme fraiche and grated cheese (I do a mix of compté and emmenthal) stirring all the while until you have enough and it's sauce like. Just watch the creme fraiche / cheese ratio - the sauce needs to stay creamy. Gentle heat all this time. Add a teaspoon of French grainy mustard and season to taste.
  4. Mix the sauce into the pasta.
  5. Lay the bacon rashers over the lot
  6. Cover with breadcrumbs
  7. Bake at 175 until it looks ready

Yum. Sounds like it takes ages but the bacon and sauce can be done while the pasta is cooking. It's not good for diets but is massively comforting.

BagofFuckingWrathfulCats · 13/02/2013 20:29

YW I would totally do the same. I can usually take or leave chocolate, but it's like when I am bf I actually need it. Like air Blush

BagofFuckingWrathfulCats · 13/02/2013 20:31

Ha! mummypig totally forgot to factor in my CAT-like reflexes!

PetiteRaleuse · 13/02/2013 20:32

DD1 is full of snot. And fever still. Dr said this morning that this flu is two days of fever before the snot arrives. Have never seen so much it's stopping her om sleeping. Saline drops and snot sucking going on here.

Passmethecrisps · 13/02/2013 20:33

When I was still expressing DH used to literally feed me snack sized snickers, Bountys and aeros. Sitting there like a moo cow with my face stuck in a feeding bag

BigPigLittlePig · 13/02/2013 20:34

Fucking reflexes Wink
Fucking chocolate
For that matter fucking COFFEE people - it's been nearly a year Sad

Jims · 13/02/2013 20:34

Too much chat about chocolate. Really really want some now... Envy

Dd a stupid thing and fed F only 45 mins (then gavisconed him) after his previous feed at bedtime as i like to keep it part of the routine. He's still crying with stomach ache. That was not my best move. Bollocks.

Ds1 has in the last two days started to drop his daytime nap. I know he's quite late to do so 2.9 but still. Bollocks again.

YellowWellies · 13/02/2013 20:35

PR that recipe would make DS a screaming ball of furious mucus - it could almost be worth it though - sounds lush!

PetiteRaleuse · 13/02/2013 20:37

Jims I am dreading the dropping of the daytime nap. It's such a lovely peaceful time, especially if it coincides with LO's nap.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/02/2013 20:39

Sorry YW I didn't think about your dietary requirements when I wrote it out.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/02/2013 20:40

(I think cutting out dairy would actually destroy my soul)

katkit1 · 13/02/2013 20:40

the thrush has gone! 2 months of thrush and its gone after 3 days of daktarin. Lovely stuff.

YellowWellies · 13/02/2013 20:42

I'm teasing - most of my fave foods are off limits. Though even if I were on dairy I'd not have that today as I'm coming down with a cold and dairy just makes me much more snotty Envy

Pikz · 13/02/2013 20:43

Katkit daktarin is the dogs bollocks

As is Lindt

And PRs recipe.

kissyfur · 13/02/2013 20:43

Love the name change cat, you should keep it! I hate being harassed by companies like that. You should sign up for the telephone preference service, they can't call you then

I saw an advert for A2 milk Pass and thought of YW. Wondered if u might be able to have it? It's milk with one of the proteins removed, guessing the A1 protein! Smile

Pass I have a spare box of infant gaviscon, LO doesn't need it anymore. would u like me to post it to you? Pm me your address if you do.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/02/2013 20:47

Oh maybe a good job DD1 is off her food then. I did it to try and tempt her into eating but all she'd eat was a spoonful of ketchup Hmm and a spoonful of yoghurt.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 13/02/2013 20:49

We've had slow cooked italian lamb shank with tagliatelle for tea, it was yummy. After the dark chocolate birthday present debacle yesterday, DH bought me two boxes of lindt lindor. I've eaten a whole box already and I'm considering starting the second box.

My favourite swear word is wankstain.

pass, your posts really make me laugh, especially when you write in Scottish dialect. I read all of your posts now in a broad scottish accent like Mary Doll.

kissyfur · 13/02/2013 20:49

I also need chocolate when bfing, I get really strong cravings for it

Great news katkit Smile

YellowWellies · 13/02/2013 20:50

Woo kissy interesting though oat and almond milk isn't bad - now if they could make cheese with that protein removed I'd try it in a heartbeat!

ValiumQueen · 13/02/2013 20:57

pass I also think of YW when I look at food. In as much as could she eat it. Obviously.

Kyzordz · 13/02/2013 21:09

A million more pages, have a touch of Internet again, wanky thing! So tomorrow is thankful Thursday, right?

Recipe looks lush PR nom!

Will get a picture of knitting tomorrow if the wankbastard virgin allows!

Stupid Internet, feel Like a left behind straggler racing through posts whenever I get a tiny bit of net and am not busy!

Sending sleepy dust to everyone!

daisychain76 · 13/02/2013 21:12

Sorry if its a daft question yw but is it cos of the dairy you can?t have cheese? I know my BF (with a severe dairy allergy) gets a hard dairy free cheese from a large branch of Tescos.

The food talk is killing me ~ been out working since 4.30, no tea, won?t get home til 10.30. Oh and think my boobs are about to explode!

katkit1 · 13/02/2013 21:13

Sorry daktarin is fucking lovely stuff
