Diege - I give him solids at 5pm. GF says to start off with half milk, then solids then other half milk at bedtime, but gradually move solids forward until its at 5pm like it is now and then do milk at 6.30pm before bed at 7pm. So I don't really know if giving him more would put him off his milk or if its what he needs? What d'you think abt the amount I said - 6tsp of baby rice and 2 cubes of fruit, does it sound like he could have more? For lunch he's having 6 cubes of mixed veg, and for brek he's having about a tablespoon of oat cereal with 2 cubes of fruit.

GarfieldsGirl · 23/05/2006 13:19

I'm so angry, so please ecuse me while I have a rant, feel free to ignore too!!

I need to buy a new car as NO combination seat fits in our car. So bloody annoyed. Why don't car seats fit in cars? Its not like we've got a silly little car or a coupe or anything. We have a normal sized, normal Rover so why the fk can't I get a fking car seat?!?!?

Been everywhere - Toys R Us, Mothercare, Knight & Lee (John Lewis), Halfords and stuck up bitches baby shop, wanted to really smack the bitch in there, walked out of there saying (very loudly) to dp "so now do you see what I mean about them being stuck up" etc etc. They were so bloody unhelpful, to the point of refusing to help because its the car seat lady's day off. WTF???? Surely someone else should know what they're talking about for when she's not there?! Anyway steamed out of there making plans to picket it. Stood in the queue in Mothercare telling everyone that they're arses!!

I am so bloody annoyed. Gonna have to try Southampton later in the week in the hope I can find something over there.

Angry Angry Angry

Sorry Grin

GarfieldsGirl · 23/05/2006 13:26

Oh yeah, and Shock

Heard on the radio that Portsmouth has the highest number of rapes in UK. Original thought was OMG, but maybe more get reported thats why it seems more, but then realised that it wasn't more rapes per head of population, but more rapes total. Thats a bloody scary statistic esp when you consider there's places like London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow etc that have a far higher populaton than we have here.

A really cheery couple of posts from me there Blush. I'll try and make them happier next time Grin

GarfieldsGirl · 23/05/2006 13:46

Well, I've found this one that'll fit in my car:

Just popping in ladies. Not forgotten you all but life is pretty hetic at the mo.

Officially back to work mid-June, but have been in for a few days already. Have to say I get so engrossed in work I completely forget about the babies - bad mummy!

Both boys over 9kgs now. Doing my back in having to pick them up all the time. Hope they are early walkers.

DTs eating two/three meals a day + bottles 5 times a day, so they are bulking up!

Rather strangely, my C-Section scar has started to become quite tender/discomfort - 6 months later! What is all that about? Not felt a thing from it before............

Back in size 12 jeans - yes, I'm showing off!!! Was nearly 15 stone just before having the DTs and now back to 10. So nice to be able to get into some half decent clothes. Will try and get to 9st8lbs eventually.

Beks - thanks for your e-mail. I will reply soon.

babyonboard · 23/05/2006 14:38

afternoon!

we are home..crisis was quickly sorted out and we spent a nice couple of days eating incredibly cheap meals out and buying nice handbags and things..hooray.also got to show O off to his family..which was the main reason I went along with d.p so that was nice.
sorry for my random posts the other night..I had one too many martinis (bad mummy!) and was feeling lonely and stressed.
lol at you all guessing where we were..it was macedonia chacha! and at all this sock talk! those ballerina ones are amazing! i want to buy some just to admire..hehe

g.o - nice to hear from you!well done on the weightloss
same to you candimom- i thought you'd forgotten about us!
rodeo - are you going to get another job? i'm considering getting a bar or club job one night a week..purely for the socialising aspect..and having a bit more money to buy cute baby clothes with!

best go tidy..i emptied my bags all over the floor this morning trying to find the teething gel and haven't been bothered to clear it up yet.
I'll read the rest of the posts later..almost a weeks worth of catching up to do!teehee

ChaCha · 23/05/2006 15:20

GO - Nice to catch up :) Am very jealous of your size 12 jeans Envy, well done for percevering on the weight loss - it's not easy and you've done so well! Being back at work must be great, I remember you saying how much you loved your job. Enjoy :o

GG - Sorry to hear about your car seat predicament & terrible customer services. Can't offer any advice, we are struggling with the matrix we have and I sympathise, is not funny.

BoB - Glad all is well.

Candiemom - Nice to see you back too :)
In a half cracked nutshell, everyone is okay, let me think, Nova is off on holiday soon, can't remember when as is LilJ. Londoner is no longer with us but she and her kids are doing really well. Rodeo and Diege are shopaholics who spend their hard earned cash on babysocks!!! :o
Rodeo has quit her p/t job, Diege is back at work, Brownie is also back at work, she and T were both unwell for a while, Beks's T got christened, Karma's brother passed away, may he rest in peace, Twinkle is TTC no.4, and I can't remember much else, sorry if anyone is forgotten.

Have finally done it! Setting up working from home so I can spend as much time as possible with DS and earn a little money. Dad is flying over beginning of next month and will hopefully be a great help as he usually is. Have just set up the website (will post link when all ready), cleaned out the computer room and got all my stuff together and am in the middle of a good spring clean so I can get on later. Can see the spare room floor again but sadly not the bottom of the washing pile :( Does it ever end?

BEKsmum · 23/05/2006 16:12

Afternoon all

GG sorry pmsl at your posts they were hilarious and is that a car seat or a dentist/torture chair you're buying there. Just a thought have you contacted Rover to see which seats they recommend, they should be able to suggest something you would have thought.
By the way that's just bragging about a 14 top on 8 legs, bet your dp doesn't complain GrinGrin
Seriouysly worrying statistic about Portsmouth though. Shock Sad

GO & Candimom good to see you both back, you've been missed.

GO nice one on the size 12 well done you I'm very Envy!!!!

Chacha, fantastic snapshot of thread life - I had to laugh at you and posting that parcel, I really am not worried do it when ever.

Right got to shoot as Thomas has just woken up.

Speak later Beks

Rodeo · 23/05/2006 16:13

Afternoon :)

Don't have to do the school run tonight, Bella is at her friends. J is in her bouncer and Joe is 'helping' her!!
Yay! 2 missing Nov poster's in one day!
GO - Lovely to hear from you!! Wow, hard to believe you were 15st, you did look very svelte in London, what determination! Esp. after twins! Sounds like you're looking forward to work, have a great time :) I am in awe of your superwoman-ness!
Candi - Good to hear from you too :) Sounds like you're doing well, nice to have your mum over, yes please post more when you've got more time
GG - Oooh dear, hope you're feeling calmer now! What type of car seat are you after? One for 9months+? I wonder why one won't fit?? I'd try mothercare again. Stay away from the bitches in the the stuck up bitches baby shop Grin Also Shock that Sean is pulling himself up!!
Diege - Post may have looked confusing last night, you do know I'm not expecting a tenner (obviously) just a little white lie to keep dp pacified Blush Your photo's are lovely! ps. love your sofa!
Chacha - Hello, loved your condensed news for Candi! Your 'from home' work sounds very intriguing? Are you letting on or waiting for a grand unveiling?! Looking forward to your news :)
Bob, good to hear your home and safe you lunatic Grin
Oooh looks like rain, I'd better get that washing in.......Bye!

Karmamother · 23/05/2006 17:40

Hi all, sorry I've been absent. Made worse by puter playing up. Typing one handed. No, not bfing, just eating my chips, beans & egg. Unhealthy but delish. Takes me back to my childhood.
Thanks to everyone who posted kind words. The funeral was as expected, impossible to hold it in during the service. One of his work colleagues gave a reading about my brother. It made me proud to be his sister. He talked about his love of telling jokes, usually blue ones. This brought a little titter around the church! I shall miss him dearly.

Thanks for the update for candiemom, chacha. Saved me reading loads of posts. Good on you rodeo for standing up to your boss!
Good luck twinkle with ttc. Not forgetting the others, beartime & nova?

Beks, will try & ring you tomorrow night once dp at work. You always cheer me up. You can tell me about the christening.

Well, life here continues. Ella is just scrumptious & I wish I didn't have to work, would love to spend all day with her. She's currently in her door bouncer & I can hear her pushing out a poo so I'd better extricate her before it ends up squeezed down her legs!!

Just quickly, who's watching Big Brother??? Un-bloody-believable!!! That's my summer taken up.

Will have a look at the shoes everyone's raving about..... catch you all later.

browniechick · 23/05/2006 18:09

Hey All - Been back at work today, after 3 days off sick last week. Feel loads better now, and Thomas is also 100% better - thanks for all your wishes.
GO & Candi - nice to hear from both of you, All seems to be going well, glad you are both happy and enjoying your bubs.
KArma - it's nice that even at such a sad time, your brothers humour still made everyone smile and laugh - am sure he would have liked that.
GG - So sorry you've had such a trauma with nasty beatches from hell in stuck-up-beatch shops!!!! How old is your Rover? Just asking as DH used to sell Rovers (before MGRover went bust and he got made redundant!), mentioned your dilemma, and he didn't quite see why there would be an issue? Perhaps it's the model? I've got a Rover 25 (keeping it in the family - but still it didn't save his job!!! Grin) and didn't even think to check a list to see if it would fit the car? Just assumed we wouldn't have a problem to be honest.
Can't believe Thomas is 6 months on Thursday!! Like the title of the thread says - where the hell did that time go?????!!!!!

Well, must dash, got to get some tea (frozen pizza!) before going out for a Brownie District Meeting! Oh Joy!!

Brownie & Thomas
x

Karmamother · 23/05/2006 19:07

GG, sounds like a nightmare with the car seat problem. I bought a Vauxhall Meriva which, on the face of it, seems like an ideal car with a baby on the way. Well, not if you want to put a car seat in it. There is a front passenger air bag which you cannot disable. If you pay squillions you can buy a Vauxhall car seat which is compatible in the front seat as it disables the airbag automatically. We decided to buy a M&P travel system. The carseat base didn't sit well on the back seat as it had too much lateral movement when fixed in. Instead we had to buy the type of carseat you have to strap in everytime. Should've bought a crappy Clio as you can disable the airbag easily. What is it with sales staff when it comes to baby stuff?

Karmamother · 23/05/2006 19:11

Thanks Browniechick. My SIL laughed too.
Theres a programme on BBC1 now called I want it now. It's about desighner baby stuff. Theres a WHITE pram on!!!

Diege · 23/05/2006 20:40

Evening!! Good to hear from you KARMA; have been thinking of you, and so glad to see you post Smile. BROWNIE: glad to hear you're feeling better and back at work!! Have to say you are one superwoman with work, then Brownies!!! You more than deserve your frozen pizza!!
Hi CANDI and GOLDEN Smile; must have been something in the air this afternoon!!Loved CHACHA's synopsis of 'where we're at' Grin. On the shopaholics note, had THREE e-bay parcels arrive today, much to dh's horror Grin; touche eclat thingy, juicy couture shorts set (not a pleasant sight at moment, but it's amazing what a bit of false tan can do!!), and a pair of baby gap lace up pumps for Libby (99p!!!) - just to make me feel not so self-centred!
GG: bet you're still thinking about the shop bitches!!Best revenge is probably to tell everyone you know; word gets around, and they may hear, which would be mighty satisfying!! lol at your mnega-bucks car seat (sorry, I know it's not funny 'ha ha' for you, but it does look v.dentist's seat-ish Grin. Thanks for your comments about my dds btw Smile. RODEO: LOL, of course I didn't think I'd have to give you a tenner Grin; quite enterprising of you with dh though!! Hey, we can even say they cost 99p when they arrive, as who in on earth would spend so much on baby socks??...who indeed Grin.
What else, what else!!! Oh yes, CHACHA I'd rather get soaked wet through than put a kagoul on Grin...have had to resort to rather un-fetching Boden 'anorak' last few days..yuck Grin. Oh and TESSA, lol at your itchy bottom !!Wink.BEAR: quantities sound fine I would say. I can't give L her tea that early as it's right at end of nursery day/pick up time. From next week I'm going to give her a snack (finger food) around 3.30, then bottle and small supper 6ish - not ideal, but have to fit in with nursery to some extent. Don't tell Gina! Grin.
Oh and another photo on my picture album !!!Me, me, me!!! (oh and Libby) Grin
Right, time for tea,
Diege Smile

BEKsmum · 23/05/2006 21:22

Evening

Meant to say lol at you lot and the socks I'm with GG it must be a girl thing, but she's right the boy ones were cute!

Karma good to see you back, look forward to catching up tomorrow - I take it that will be before BB then - how can you watch that rubbish? Grin That should set the cat among the pigeons!!! Wink

Diege I'm off to look at your photo's after this, bet they are lovely. By the way I'm with you, water proof coats mean you've finally grown up into a responsible person - sod that I'd rather get soaked through Grin

GG Shock at Sean pulling himself up, he's determined not to be a baby for long isn't he. you must need eyes in the back of your head.

Didn't think about the Rover collapse when I posted - duh, excuse the baby brain Smile

Rodeo I have been scanning the birth announcements as Diddle thinks she might have had a show over the weekend so it could be any time now. Xena should have had her baby by now too, but there doesn't seem to be any news of her.

Proud mummy moment Thomas is sitting up unaided - hoora,y only the occasional game of baby left baby right each day now. He thinks he's the bees knees at the moment but then gets cocky and looks over his shoulder etc and wipes out Grin

Bob glad you are all back safe and sound, I've sent you an e-mail about meeting up in Greenwich Park with Tex & Londoner in the next couple of weeks - let me know what you think.

Candimom you're welcome to join us too of course, plus anyone else obviously.

Right off to bed as totally cream crackered, speak to you all tomorrow Beks

ChaCha · 23/05/2006 21:29

Karma - Really nice to see your post :)
Mention of food made my mouth water though, I've been good for two whole days and determined not to give in. GO's fab weight loss has motivated me again, sadly though, my motivation always only lasts for a couple of days. We'll see.

Diege - Your DDs are just gorgeous and that pic of you and L is lovely :) More parcels Shock
Geesh, we'd better call shopaholics anonymous soon, LOL. Speaking of which I couldn't resist googling and came up with these cartoons, especially for you, voila:
\link{http://www.cartoonstock.com/directory/s/shopaholics.asp\shopaholics}

Brownie - Happy 6mth b'day! DS is 6 months on 3rd June, that's 26weeks.

Rodeo - No unveiling, LOL, but will ask you to look at website for ideas. Just a virtual office, offers a variety of virtual office support. Typing, audio transcription, proof reading, email/faxing etc..

RE: Big Brother - [yawn] people i know are talking about it. One friend couldn't wait to tell the good news of it's screening. Oh boy!

Diege · 24/05/2006 13:15

Helloooo!!! Really quiet on here today. Hope you are all outside enjoying the glorious sunshine Grin. Nothing much going on here, other than usual toddler appeasing Grin. No shoes yet either Sad...will chase up Letterbox if no joy by Friday, so don't panic just yet RODEO!!
Right, lunchtime Smile.
Speak later, hopefully not just to myself!
Diege Smile

Diege · 24/05/2006 13:16

karma - nice to hear from you, hope you are all well.

we've had a bad couple of nights with O, not sure if it's the disruption or his teeth..it looks like his other front one is bout to emerge.

i'm busy making a big meze platter as we have guests tonight..dangerous! as i can't resist eating something everytime i go into the kitchen..hehe

babyonboard · 24/05/2006 14:13

Just a quick one as I should be tidying, making tea, ironing clothes, packing suitcase etc.

Diege, my socks came this morning Grin really really cute!!! AND have already sent your 2 pairs off Shock so look out for them in morning :) Along with a letter for Scarlett!

Ooh bob, Croatia sounds nice, saw a travel show item on it and it looked lovely :) Cheapish too if I remember rightly. Trying not to get sucked into BB this time, but alas, I already know all of their names so not trying too hard! Who do you like? I quite like most of the girls (apart from 'Bonna'!!) but the boys are awful!!

Beks, oh good, keep scanning those Birth Announcements, we don't want anything to slip by!!

Right, better go, children are being annoying.....I'm off to Madrid on Friday but hope to post before I go, if not I'll see you all on Tues :)

Rodeo · 24/05/2006 16:53

Oh, yes the poor welsh boy! Pete's nice too, forgot about him. But love Nikki!! Haha, she is unbelievable though you're right, like Grace too and pornstar Lea :)
