I hope they are as good as the last 6!

Elf - I presume you just leave her on her tum? Johnny either can't or won't roll yet from his back to front. He can do it from his tummy but tends not to. He just puts his head down and lies there all chilled out. Lazy boy - I wonder where he gets that from Shock. But he can sit up really well and much prefers that to lying down.

Sat baby Small on the bathroom scales and she seems to be 19lb - which is what dd1 (who is 3.5) weighed at 18 months!!!!

I am glad she is "thriving" but I'm not sure how dd1 is going to react to her "baby sister" growing bigger than her ... ! And there is only 1 box of baby clothes in the attic - the next size larger dd1 is still wearing and hasn't yet grown out of!

Elf1981 · 03/05/2006 12:57

my first thought of seeing Evie on her tummy this morning was to go and put her back on her back but I really wanted a bath so I made sure she was okay then headed for the bathroom.
I've not yet seen her roll from her tummy to her back, but I have seen her crawl in circles!!
Have fun at the opticians MB!
Wow MP, what a difference in size!

Elf1981 · 03/05/2006 13:02

oh, that reminds me!

My sisters friend had a baby in Feb, he weighed 9lbs when born. Evie is nearly four months old, was the same weight when born (give or take a few oz!)
She's 16lbs 5 now, and he's 16lbs!
My sister passed comment to her friends husband about the difference in size, and his reply was "well, Evie cant be healthy can she?"!! grrrrrr

mawbroon · 03/05/2006 15:41

Ach just ignore them Elf. He's possibly made a silly comment like that because he can't think of anything else to say.

Johnny was good as gold at the opticians and just sat in his car seat batting away at his toys. It sounds daft, but I always tell him that I expect good behaviour and then thank him if he has been good. I am just practising for when he's older I think!

mummygow · 03/05/2006 17:06

so glad you ar all doing well - computer broken so just popped onto my mums computer to say hi!!

Dont worry about weight cameron is 18lbs Shock

Hope to go through all posts soon.

love mummygow xx

Elf1981 · 04/05/2006 08:14

lol
was feeling a bit glum this morning when I got to work (Evie awake from 2:00 onwards on and off).
Stood in the lift with another woman, could hear this horrible grinding noise. Made a joke about how I might get stuck in the lift (she got off two floors below me).
Got out of the lift on my floor and I thought I might report the noise in the lift. However the noise followed me. Got a bit confused and then realised that my electric expresser had caught in my bag and turned on and that was the noise.
I had a good giggle to myself in the corridor, it's going to make me Grin all day!

Jockey · 04/05/2006 12:52

Oh Elf, that's going to make me Grin all day too!

Mustn't worry about size. My two sons are five years apart and one day the "little one" will probably tower over his bigger brother (big brother not impressed!). The older one was always on the 2nd centile as a baby I think - tbh can't really remember. People keep commenting, even now, that I don't feed him properly! He eats like a horse and is still skinny as a rake Envy.

I think we are going to have a baby growing taller than her bigger sister too - looks like I might have two older shorties then two taller younger ones! You've only got to look at the difference between some adults to see it is all normal - so why shouldn't babies be different sizes too?

Must try that EBM lolly as it would really help with teething pains I reckon. Must try and post more often, too!

Elf1981 · 04/05/2006 12:59

I'm still giggling about it now. Every time I think about it I have a little snicker, if the people I work with dont think I am crazy already, they do now!
I even did that whole 'look up at the ceiling to see if the noise is coming from there' bit!

mawbroon · 04/05/2006 17:01

LOL Elf. As long as people didn't think that it was something from Ann Summers vibrating away in your bag BlushWink

Elf1981 · 04/05/2006 19:04

LOL@Vibrator!

Luckily the other woman in the lift thought it was the actualy lift, like I did to begin with!

Yokefleet · 06/05/2006 07:30

Elf lol I bet you blushed!
Everything ok here, Thomas seems to be just about sleeping through 1 night but then waking 4 or 5 times the next night, I don't know why, am really tired this morning.
My sister is moving from Yorkshire to Swansea a week today with her 2 1/2yr old dd (her h told her he was leaving 2 weeks ago as yesterday - fast mover my sis!)I can't wait, I have really missed seeing her all the time since we moved last August. Grin

Strange, I'm sure i posted last night and it doesn't seem to be on here today. I hope it hasn't gone on to some random thread or worse still, been reported Shock

Johnny has a tooth!!!!! I was helping him drink water from a ceramic mug when I heard it go clink clink. It's only just through and no more, but he was managing the rice cakes much more easily at breakfast today! Note to self - keep fingers out of his mouth...

For the first time ever, Johnny was the perfect baby yesterday. He was cheery all day, he napped at my ideal times which I have had in my head for yonks, he ate decent amounts at mealtimes and then he slept for 11hours straight through.

What's the betting that today is a complete disaster??? ShockShock

Elf1981 · 06/05/2006 11:12

Evie is going through a bad stage at the moment. Not sure if it is to do with her teeth, but shes waking every few hours at night. Sometimes she is only sleeping for 20 mins at a time.
Hoping its just a stage!!

Piggiesmum · 06/05/2006 17:07

Elf - ds is doing the same at the moment. I'm guessing it's teething due to the amount of chewing on everything he can lay his hands on!

Off to catch up with the rest of the thread now as I've been away for ages!

mawbroon · 07/05/2006 08:05

Morning all. I didn't get much sleep last night, not because of Johnny, but because my SIL had her baby last night. She had to have an emergency section because the baby was breech. Before I was a Mum, hearing news of a new baby was nice, but didn't have much effect on me, but hearing this last night made me worried for the both of them, and sympathy for my SIL as I too had a CS for a breech baby, excitement about going to see them both today and it brought back memories of when Johnny was delivered. It has also made me want another baby and I haven't even seen this one yet!! Grin
Tell me that it's too soon!!!Shock

Elf1981 · 07/05/2006 09:24

I now get so excited when I hear about people being pregnant, let alone them actually having the baby! Two of my friends at work are pregnant, one due in August, the other in October. Both second pregnancies - first friend has a 18 month old, other friend has a eight month old. I'm still sticking with my "not trying til Evie is three / four years old" line but dont know how long that is going to last!!

Elf1981 · 07/05/2006 09:24

Congrats to your SIL BTW MB :)

mummygow · 07/05/2006 13:58

It must be something in the air, Cameron has started wakening during the night again this week and I am shattered!!

Congats MB - is this your first neice/nephew, or are you already an aunty?

oh and well done johnny for the first tooth and being your mummy's perfect angel Grin

Elf lol at expresser!!

YF is your sister ok - so glad you are going to have her company again.

Still no computer in my house, so at mums again. I come here every second weekend to stay as daddy has them at my house as he is still at his mums and hasn't sorted sleeping arrangemnts yet for the kids to saty with him.

Anyway hope everyone doing well and will check in next time at mums xxx

Jockey · 07/05/2006 14:42

Oh dear, another shattered one here! But it is down to my ds(age 3) as well as baby. He couldn't stop scratching last night with heat rash or something. Baby has a cold so was also pretty restless, but not half as much trouble as big brother. Both were in bed with me last night, and I was sweating in the middle. There will come a time when things settle down - must keep remembering this. I don't obsess over the 6 & 8 year old's sleep patterns any more (just other things with them!).

Congratulations Mawbroon. Hoping all is well with baby and SIL.

Yokefleet · 08/05/2006 07:28

MB Congratulations on becoming an auntie and hope all is well with your sil and new baby Grin and congratulations to Johnny for his first tooth! has he continued to be the perfect baby?

oh and MB it is too soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I must admit though I like my baby being the youngest I know!!! BlushWink
MG is it Cameron's teeth waking him up? My sis is ok, she would never left him but she isn't devastated iykwim. tbh her h was a snivelling little s**t, when she was with us for a weekend or whatever without him she kinda came alive again and was the old sister we knew and loved! he didn't like her wearing make-up or dressing up etc and constantly put her down and I think she will enjoy her freedom again. I can't wait to see the old Claire again Grin How are things going at your side?
jockey do things ever really settle down? lol
