Hi de hi all,

Feeling a little better, still get the odd moment of feeling hot and sick, but I've taken a test and NOT pregnant! (Didn't think I was, but when you feel sick and the twentieth person has asked whether you're pregnant, it plays on your mind!)

MB - I have a wedding on the 19th, I'm being bridesmaid and you'd think I'd have my outfit sorted but the dresses still have not turned up !

YF - I have never changed a tyre, despite having three flats - there just always seems to be somebody willing around, or my dad coming to sort it out, bless him!! I really should learn, shouldn't I?!

MM - glad you had a good hol.

NM - how's your shoulder?

nervousmum · 02/08/2006 20:36

Still painful! Saw consultant Monday, have to have an MRI scan on it. He thinks it's a ripped tendon. If confirmed, i will need surgery to re-attach it! Trying not to think about it for now, and just enjoying playing with Joey as i'm off sick! He tried climbing the stairs this evening - we were waiting ages for him to be up and mobile, and now he's doing everything all at once Thanks for asking, NM x

mawbroon · 03/08/2006 09:04

LOL Elf. I'm another serial pregnancy tester. Still no AF so always have that niggling doubt in my mind. Last time I did one, I was actually quite disappointed that it was negative. I see that a couple of the girls on the November thread are pregnant again. Hope you feel back to normal soon.

NM - a ripped tendon really does sound painful. Do you remember doing anything that might have injured it, or has it just crept up on you?

It looks like another fabulous day here after a few days of miserable weather. The garden needed the rain I suppose, but it could be a bit more considerate and just rain at night.

nervousmum · 06/08/2006 18:19

MB - my GP reckons i did it just picking Joey up awkwardly on a day i must have been run down, therefore vulnerable to injury! Quite scary to think something so simple could have caused it

Sent my wedding invites today. I know it's early, but MIL has been nagging at me for ages, the old bat!!!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend, take care, NM x

mawbroon · 06/08/2006 20:01

I know NM and it's not as if we can avoid picking up our LOs umpteen times every day. JOhnny is around 20lbs now and I notice that my back aches if I get complacent about bending my knees etc when lifting him.

It is so quiet on here just now. Is everyone ok?

DontlookatmeImshy · 06/08/2006 20:06

NM - Ouch at ripped tendon. Hope you don't have to wait to long to get it fixed!

MB Good luck with the wedding outfits. I hate having to look for girlie posh stuff too. It's almost traumatic lol.

Well first af in 19 months arrived this week. I'm quite gutted although I suppose I should be grateful it's taken this long. I forgot how crap it is. Should've seen it coming though really. I spent all of last week ranting at complete strangers about all sorts of stuff and thought it was just the hot weather getting to me. With hindsight it was typical me style PMT. And it's lasting forever! Arrghh Rant over. Sorry ladies.

Ds is crawling so fast I can hardly keep up with him. If he sees me come after him he has a little burst of speed and his little arms and legs go so fast they actually miss the ground and he ends up falling over and then laughs. The sweetest thing is when he crawls over to me or dh, climbs up us and gives us a hug.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Is it me or is it getting hot again?

Elf1981 · 07/08/2006 12:25

It is getting very hot again! I was melting last night and not very happy.

AF's are evil! I had mine last month, first time since Jan 05 and I could not stand it - it was horrible. Thought about getting pg again just to get it to stop!! (Joking!)

Oooh, cant believe the disclaimer at the bottom when you add a message!

nervousmum · 07/08/2006 21:28

I know! Bit of a shocker!!

Anyone else having trouble getting their LO's to bed? Joey's tired, lay him down in cot at normal time, give him his bottle, then the second i turn to leave (quietly!), for the last few days since he's been 'properly' mobile, he'll instantly roll onto his side and stand up holding the side of the cot! The only way to get him to sleep is to physically restrain him from getting back up, with a light hand pressure on both his legs and chest!! He then goes to sleep within minutes, and will sleep through as normal. Tis quite hard work, as i'm either hunched over the side of the cot trying to hold him down, or i'm cuddling him to me to get him to sleep - neither of which is good for my shoulder! Anyone else got experience of this? Any advice? The only thing i could think of was 'tucking him in' with a light cotton sheet over his Grobag. Thanks, NM x

DontlookatmeImshy · 07/08/2006 22:40

NM - I am having the same problem with ds. I'm trying to sort it 'baby whisperer' sytle. Everytime he stands up I just lay him down again and say (whisper)something like "Time to go to sleep now darling". At first he was up and down like a yoyo, (68 times the 1st night!)now he usually goes to sleep within a few minutes, and hardly stands up at all.

Just need to sort out the early morning waking now. Yawn.

cye · 07/08/2006 23:08

we have exactly the same sleep issue. tried the baby whisperer but dd howled and howled so am reduced to rocking/bf to sleep. i'm hoping it'll pass when the novelty of standing up wears off (not that there is any sign of that, it's all she wants to do, all day, every day!).

Jockey · 08/08/2006 18:17

Hi. Mine isn't that great at night as I'm still bf her to sleep. Then of course she wakes up and wants it again - so I'm just going with it for now. Just too tired to worry at the moment.

Do know one thing though - I'd be lost if Mumsnet didn't exist anymore!

mawbroon · 08/08/2006 20:01

Sorry, can't help on that one I'm afraid. Johnny doesn't move from his back at all. He still can't sit up or roll over from his back, but he is getting good at bum shuffling on the wooden floor through the day

He's got another 2 top teeth so has 6 in total now

We were playing a little game tonight. "look at Daddy" "look at mummy" "look at the light" etc and that little boy knows and understands way way more than we give him credit for because he did most of the things that we asked. We were quite amazed!

nervousmum · 09/08/2006 11:10

So cute - at 4am this morning, DP heard Joey burble so tiptoed into his room to give him some milk before he woke up properly. As he got to the room, he was wondering why it was so light...went in to find Joey sat at the end of his cot playing with the starfish on his dream & light show which he'd switched on himself, with his teddy bear on his lap
After a slurp of milk (and switching off the fish!), Joey was back to sleep till 8am!

mawbroon · 09/08/2006 14:29

LOL NM - I'm afraid that nothing Johnny was doing at 4am would be described as cute by me unless it was sleeping soundly!! I have had a full nights sleep almost every night since May so have taken badly to Johnny's 4.30am waking which has happened the last couple of nights. He's teething, but he was so upset last night that I went and bfed him for the first time at night for 3 months. I hope he doesn't think he's getting that every night
I got him weighed yesterday and he's 20lbs 2.5oz now. He's getting a bit heavy for carrying in the backpack but I will keep going for a while as I so can't be arsed with a buggy and would have to decide which one to buy. Perhaps he'll learn to walk overnight.... hmm, perhaps not.

Elf1981 · 09/08/2006 20:27

Evie has had two new teeth break through today!!

Jockey · 10/08/2006 15:38

Well done with the teeth Evie!! Sophie's been quite crabby but is now the proud owner of two more at the top, which have suddenly burst through. This is after a very slow start as nothing happened for ages. A bit like the mobility thing - nothing then everything all at once! And she bit my boob - OUCH!!! Need gas & air for that .

Actually the crabby thing could also be to do with the older ones waking her during the school hols. Poor thing, getting snatches of sleep here and there.

The weather here is perfect today - wish we were at the beach but hoping to go very soon just for the day.

Hope everyone is ok.

nervousmum · 11/08/2006 09:44

Wow! All these babies with loads of teeth! Joey's still only got 2

I think Joey's having another growth spurt - he was up at 11.30 last night and 5.30am this morning, drinking loads each time. It's been so long since he's not slept through from 8 till 8, that when he cried on the baby monitor i thought it was the cats outside!

Tis not very nice weather here - it rained all day yesterday, and looks threatening to do so again today. Still, Me and LO are off out to lunch with a friend which should be fun! Hope Everyone's ok, NM x

mawbroon · 11/08/2006 14:06

Ouch indeed Jockey. Johnny has bitten me a couple of times but it's only been when he's messing about, so now I just take him off when he starts. So, instead he is nipping my skin now that he has mastered the pincer grip. I confess to doing most of his feeds (except first and last things) in front of MN, but I have stopped this and his behaviour during feeds is better. I think he prefers to have my full attention.

NM - Johnny woke up two nights in a row which was really unusual for him. I think the wee mite was cold because the following night he was back in his sleeping bag and has slept right through no bother since then. Hope you enjoyed your lunch out.

I have my final inspection from the Care Commission on Wednesday for my childminding. I really should be cleaning and getting ready instead of sitting here on MN, oh well, I can say it's research for my new job

nervousmum · 11/08/2006 17:43

Thanks MB, lunch was v nice, even if Joey did grump and play up throughout (which is v unusual for him). He's been out of sorts again all afternoon...i hope he's just teething and not coming down with something!

nervousmum · 11/08/2006 17:45

Oh and good luck for your inspection Wednesday

not the same thing i know, but i've got a mammoth tidy-up to do by 1.30pm tomorrow when another load of prospective buyers for our house are due. Maybe, hopefully, one of them will actually make an offer this time! NM x

nervousmum · 13/08/2006 08:10

Really sad news yesterday - one of my ex-H's 3 month old twins died suddenly last week I cannot begin to understand the Hell he and his partner are going through, especially as the baby died whilst in his care (he was lying on the sofa with Baby lying on his chest. He dozed off, and when he woke up the baby was dead. Post mortem showed the baby had some kind of streptococcal infection which was the cause of death). So very sad. I know he's my ex-H, but i do still care. NM x

Elf1981 · 13/08/2006 15:29

NM - so sorry to hear about your ex-H's loss, how awful for him and those who know him

Yokefleet · 13/08/2006 18:50
