Thank you for your kind words. I'm not actually in contact with my ex-H any more, but my grandad works with his stepdad, which is how i found out. I just feel so for them. The funeral's on Wednesday apparantly.

I made Everybody miserable with my news! Sorry x

Someone say something cheerful...I'll start - in 6 weeks today, Joey will be 1 What are you Ladies planning on buying for your LO's, present-wise, and are you having birthday parties?

Yokefleet · 16/08/2006 06:33

NM [SMILE] it's always hard to type anything after such bad news but I'll will start, we are going to have two little family tea parties for Thomas back in Yorkshire, one with my relatives and one with dh will be a chance for us all to catch up

Where has all the time gone??? Thomas will be 1 is 7 weeks. This time last year we were still living in Yorkshire (moved late August) since then we have moved house twice and my sister has also moved down here!

me again Present wise I think we will just put some money into ds's Child Trust Fund as I am sure he will have plenty of family gifts (he would be happy with a toilet roll!! he wants to be the next Andrex puppy!!!!!)

nervousmum · 16/08/2006 08:57

TBH, we were thinking of doing the same thing - Joey already has mountains of toys and clothes and will no doubt get loads more from the family. I'd still like to get him something personal and a bit special to go with the money though.

Yokefleet · 16/08/2006 09:39

nm dh has suggested that we plant a tree or something similar for ds, I thought that was a nice idea. (we are not moving again...well thats the plan anyway)

Don't think we are doing much for Johnny's birthday. He will not be taken out of his routine whatever happens because it's not worth it. We'll probably have visitors over but not a party as such.

I've just had my inspection from the Care Commission for my childminding. They said I was very organised I'm starting on Sept 18th after we come back from a week away in England. I just remembered the other day that if we go for a pub lunch with Johnny while we are away, there will be smoking in the pub and there's no law to say that I can breastfeed without being asked to leave. I've just taken these laws in Scotland for granted. Hopefully I won't have any bother though.

I think Johnny is having a massive growth spurt just now. He is eating me out of house and home and has turned into a sleeping beauty. He slept 2hrs 15 yesterday morning and then 2hrs 30 in the afternoon and then followed that with 7pm to 7am. I'm not complaining of course.

Elf1981 · 16/08/2006 19:51

Evie will be 1 in 7 weeks on Friday, goodness me!
We're going to get her this and this
They were things we'd been planning on getting anyway and will last ages.
I'm working on her birthday and cant get the time off but we're going to have a little tea party at my mums the next day. She wont know the difference but it will help ease my working mummy guilt
Speaking of work - I got promoted today!!

Hope everybody is well.

elf xxxx

Congrats on your promotion Elf

I can't believe out lo's are nearly one. The last few months have gone so quick. Too quick!!!

Yokefleet · 19/08/2006 08:03

My lovely nearly 3yr old neice stopped over last night, when she heard Thomas crying this morning she rushed out of bed straight into his room and started singing "Here comes Andy Pandy" and saying "there there Thomas" bless her, it was only 6.30!!!

Aww that's so cute YF.

I am finding that Johnny is changing in front of my eyes. He seems different in the mornings compared to when he went to bed. He is bursting out of his clothes and I can see that he is starting to lose his babyishness. It won't be long before he's my big lad instead of my wee baby. Time for another one methinks. Aaaargh, no tell me not to just yet. Well, I still haven't got my AF back yet and we both enjoy BF too much to stop at the moment so younger sib will just have to wait. I had a very strong feeling yesterday that DH and I are going to end up with three boys.

Yokefleet · 19/08/2006 16:33

MB I'm with you on that one! We are planning to start trying again around Christmas (it was Xmas Day 04 that we started trying for Thomas and we fell pg with him early Jan )

OP posts:
nervousmum · 19/08/2006 19:07

I'd love to start trying for another one too We'll be waiting till after the honeymoon to Mauritius at the beginning of February next year though, just in case!

mawbroon · 20/08/2006 09:11

Oh broody broody on the October thread! I see that some of the November girls are pregnant again. No hanging about there then!

I don't know if I am imagining things or not, but it does seem like Johnny is trying to say words today all of a sudden. And he was playing with a shape sorter and managed to get the round (easiest) shape through the hole. I thought it was just a fluke, but he did it another three times. Scary stuff.

We stayed with my PILs last night because DH is away on a stag night and I was out gigging. Johnny slept from 7pm until 6am which was great considering we weren't at home. Not so great considering I didn't get to bed until 2am!

Elf1981 · 20/08/2006 09:29

Oooh, broody girlies! I am waiting until Evie is about three before we start trying again (or that is the plan at the moment).

It was my sisters wedding yesterday, I am absolutely knackered today! We didnt get home until 1:00 and although Evie had napped throughout the day / evening, we didnt put her in her cot until aout 1:30 - she was still up at 7:00!!

It was so cute, she was sat at dinner in her highchair next to the best mans son (he's about two I think) and after dinner they were playing on the floor and hugging and kissing each other. I all of a sudden had visions of her wedding day!!

YF - you could employ your neice as a babysitter! At the wedding yesterday all the other kids kept patting Evie on the head when she was asleep and waking her up!!

MB - are you v excited about starting CM'ing or getting a bit nervous? I know what you mean about feeling Johnny is bigger each morning - the other day I picked Evie up in the morning and I swear she'd grown inches overnight or something!

NM - hows the house selling going? Have you sold and I missed it?

DontlookatmeImshy · 20/08/2006 10:14

I know what you mean about them changing overnight. Each day he'll suddenly do something new, and he'll do it as if he's being doing it for ages.
He's chatting away like crazy here too. It's the same sounds but over and over like he's practicing for a talkathon, but they are changing slightly too. Ma-ma has become ma-mee and ba-ba is now ba-bee. Dh is a bit disappointed we haven't had a da-da yet though. Yesterday afternoon he never stopped. It was soooo peaceful once he went to bed (after talking himself to sleep).

He's also finding his own ways to amuse himself. I brought down an old duvet to put behind him in a big heap when he was practising standing up so he'd have a soft landing if he fell backwards. He has discovered that crawling towards it as fast as possible and launching himself into it face first is rather hilarious.

Are we all getting broody? lol
We started trying at Christmas 04 too. We were visiting my parents, we normally stay overnigt but we had to come home cos dh was paranoid about doing it there lol. Our original plan was to try for a two year gap with no.2 but I've not got over ds's birth yet, and dh hasn't got over seeing the state of me after ds's birth so I think it might be at least a 3 year gap.
Besides with the way ds is coming on at the moment I'd quite like to enjoy him on his own for a bit longer too.

Elf1981 · 20/08/2006 15:18

I worry I'd miss something with DD if I had another now. I already feel like I am missing out and to divide my attention between her and another child would make me feel like I hardly spent time with her. I take my hats off to anybody who can do it though

Yokefleet · 20/08/2006 16:23

My dh hopes that we get to do quite a bit of practising this time as last time we caught on sooooo quickly and I felt so awful that he didn't get much action after that!!!! Just talking of how awful I felt throughout the pregnancy why am I thinking of another this soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
mawbroon · 20/08/2006 17:44

We started trying in Nov 03 so it took a while before we were lucky. I am in two minds about when to actively start trying this time because it could take the same time, or it could happen first time. I am at the stage now where if it happened by accident (unlikely, I know) then we would be delighted but feel it is a bit soon to be actively trying IYSWIM. Oh it's never easy, is it!

Yokefleet · 20/08/2006 21:07

tbh I would probably choose to have a bigger gap then we are trying for but dh is 8yrs older then me and doesn't want to leave it to late
I always had problems with my AF's since being a teenager (some years only having 2AF's in the year) and always remembered the Dr who gave me the pill saying that I was likely to have problems conceiving because of that, so when we did start to try I thought we'd have a long wait.
