Argh! Tyre gone on my car. Broken down therefore on the side of a major dual carriageway. Waiting at roadside with ds2 in car seat.

Arghhhhhhhhhh!

Oh no!!! What a nightmare! I hope you're both dressed super warm and DS2 just sleeps through the (very very short) wait!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 09/11/2012 10:00

Btw I have no idea where stilton would fit on the cheese-barometer Too, I don't even eat cheese! It's news to me that it's even possible for cheese to indicate one's position on the social ladder GrinGrin Where does lactose intolerance rate on the scale?!?!

pommedechocolat · 09/11/2012 10:16

Oh no biscuits!! Hope they come very quickly. What a rubbish place for it to happen!

TooImmatureGhostiesAndGhoulies · 09/11/2012 10:24

Oh no, Biscuits! Hope the AA (or whoever) turns up sharpish.

Scream, lactose intolerance is a relatively new thing, therefore lactose-intolerance = nouveau riche? Grin Also, stilton must be pretty posh because it is traditionally served with port, which ye lower classes wouldn't have been able to afford. Fact. Plus, the stronger the smell the higher up the food chain, as it were. So gorgonzola, stilton etc at the top, mild cheddar and Philadelphia at the bottom. French cheese ranks quite highly too, so Brie, although I always think Camembert is a working-class cheese. Dutch and Swiss cheeses fall somewhere in the middle, lower than a good extra mature cheddar. Oh and parmesan used to be posh but is now a bit naff and has been replaced by that other hard cheese that also starts with P. Grano Padano?

We've been rescued - at tyre place now wasting money on another new tyre

Glad you have been rescued Biscuits

I only eat medium cheddar from the Taw Valley Creamery. What does that make me? apart from fussy

Biscuitsandtea · 09/11/2012 11:40

Oooh things are looking up. £51 of stuff in Laura Ashley for £26 Smile

God, still no word from my friend. If she's been in established labour (in hospital, anyway) since 11.30 pm, surely it can't be much longer? I thought you were only allowed to be in active labour for 12 hours before they started with the interventions. Still, she's in a birthing unit an hour and a half at least from the main hospital, so if she needs a CS she'll have to be bluelighted there. It's all scary!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 09/11/2012 16:19

No brooking for your friend Too! I bet she's snuggled up in bed too busy with newborn cuddles to update anyone! Grin

Happy birthday Jen!! Having a good day? I hope little N has got you something nice Grin

Hooray for Biscuits getting rescued! What a stressful day, poor you! Sending lots of Wine your way!

Poor little A is quite poorly today. She's had a cough all week and her evil Mum has been ignoring it and dragging her out in the cold everyday anyway Blush It's got worse today though, and despite skipping her baby sign class and keeping her inside and warm and cosy all day, she's now sneezing as well :( She's been asleep most of the day, poor snuffly one. I've got all the ingredients for a vit c-filled squash, sweet potato and chicken soup though. To offset my guilt at her first cold since I gave up bfing last week.

DreamingOfPeace · 09/11/2012 16:24

Too, I went in to be induced at 9am Wednesday morning, DD born Thursday afternoon- how longs she been in now?

Thank goodness for rescue biscuits, and Laura Ashley therapy

DreamingOfPeace · 09/11/2012 16:29

Gah, x post scream. Hope little A improves quickly. I felt guilty when DD got so poorly so often when i stopped bf at 15 months so forget guilt, doesn't matter how old they are when you stop, you'll find a way to feel the Mother Guilt :)

Biscuitsandtea · 09/11/2012 18:24

I have been meaning to come on all day and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jen Grin

Hope you've had a lovely day Thanks xx

Happy birthday, Jen! I totally missed that. Hope you had a lovely day.

Scream, your vit C soup sounds yummy - can I have some?

My friend's DH says they're fine and she was being induced at 4ish - presumably she got so far and then it all stopped. So still no baby! Her waters broke yesterday at lunchtime, she had tightenings but not really cx all afternoon, and then she went to the birthing unit at 11.30pm and stayed there, so we thought it was all systems go. Apparently not, though. Gosh, today must have been long for her! And the hardest bit yet to come.

PetWoman · 09/11/2012 20:22

Happy birthday, Jen !

DreamingOfPeace · 09/11/2012 20:41

Happy birthday Jen!

too, I was in and out from when my waters broke on Tuesday at 5:30am to when i had DD Thursday pm. It felt soooo long, I feel for your poor friend, I bet she's shattered.

I'm feeling pretty knackered too, and the more knackered I am the more horrible I am to poor dh. Cough and sore throat. boo!! In fact, I'm feeling so rock and roll I think I'll go to bed now....

scarletfingernail · 09/11/2012 21:46

Happy Birthday Jen

pommedechocolat · 10/11/2012 10:26

To echo basically everyone else:

Happy Birthday Jen!

With dd1 my induction started at 8am Monday and she was born by forceps on Weds at 9.30am!

pommedechocolat · 10/11/2012 12:23

omg A has pulled herself up onto her feet using the bottom of the brick walker thing. Life's about to get tricky...

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 10/11/2012 13:35

Any news yet Too?

Yay for A Pomme excellent work!

Having a huge clear out/tidy up/cleaning weekend here. I've no idea what to do with all the boys clothes, I've got every item DS has ever worn. We really need to get EBaying. Also need to get rid of my glider chair, a bath Shock, 2 pushchairs and a high chair. How on earth have we accumulated so much bloody stuff that we don't need? Confused

DreamingOfPeace · 10/11/2012 19:02

too and anyone else doing it, blw inspiration please. Boys decided they prefer to do it themselves and got fishfingers and waffles for tea with DD. god I'm such a good mother Hmm Confused at least I didn't give them her freddo from a party bag?!

Anyone seen hawthers about? I may be being dim and just missed a post from her.

And wow pomme, fantastic work from A!! It'll be lovely buy some reins . Btw you look gorgeous in your fb profile pic, now I want to

DreamingOfPeace · 10/11/2012 20:25

Ha! Interrupted by rl, how irritating :)

Was going to say now I'm going to use my limited free time to look at your other photos- done it now! too nosey for my own good You are vair pretty and your wedding pics are gorgeous. Love the dress. Love the DD1 ones too.

jaggythistle · 10/11/2012 21:06

R loves toast (the toast with own brand soft cheese was particularly well received) curly bits of pasta, rice cakes and any bread like thing. and baby biscuits so i am no use for inspiration!

he had pasta with some bolognese sauce on it for tea, DH had made penne and it was too slippy though. he had some raisin and prune ella's kitchen baby brekkie too, that should keep him regular. Shock

I'm trying to pretend I'm calm about work on Monday, but I'm feeling a bit of a wimp about it this weekend. i keep seeing DS2 giving me big smiles and wondering what he'll think when he's abandoned with daddy and no boobs!

DH has given me more confidence that he's going to concentrate on the boys and not housework! Grin

belated happy birthday Jen!

struggling to get DS2 to sleep here. i think he's going to get several top teeth at once and he's not a happy bunny.

later...
