Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
wigglesrock · 31/01/2013 07:03

Well I may have just cursed myself by mentioning that Anna hasn't been getting up as early Grin

HobKnob Well heeeellooo stranger Grin No, S and A haven't sucumbed to the pox yet. Almost wish they would hurry up and get it over with. O has been fine with it, a few ropey hours but other than that no bother. The spots are crusting and diappearing and she never had a temp, and there was no scratching. Although in saying that she is my best patient by far, I dread to think of S reaction. She'll be milking it for what its worth.

Am off to hairdressers this morning. Lovely pils (sorry) are having A and O for a few hours. We were supposed to be going out for a fancy dan dinner tomorrow night with friends but Mr W has been called into work Angry but I still need de-badgered. The only night we can get out now is As birthday and we're going. I can't decide if I should be feeling a bit guilty or not - I've decided to go with not Blush

Ps I'm sort of on FB Shock I still don't know what I'm doing Blush Its all a bit boring or else I've brokened it!

blizy · 31/01/2013 07:35

Hobnob, big waves! I've missed you around here. Oops to S being a little diva.

Wiggles, sort of on FB you say? Get adding me, you know my name?
I'm glad O is being a good patient. I would go our for the dinner to, you won't miss much with A being in bed anyway.

Ledkr, I have no advice for you about D sleeping, but I do know lack of sleep is torturous. Sending you some [tea] and a hug to get though the day.

Right I had better go, kids about to arrive. Have a good day y'all!

ILovePonyo · 31/01/2013 08:23

Oh dear what is with all the early waking babies at the moment? Confused Sympathies to all.

Hobknob is a brill name deb Grin lovely to hear from you, I did Grin at S sorry.

Wiggles add me! Add meeee, I'm friends with blizy, my initials are sb.

Ledkr hope you're ok. Our meet up with Mizk is all go btw, is notts a long way for you to drive? Does anyone else want to come?

Just having breakfast in sainsbos cafe before I start work, at least when A gets up early I can drop her at nursery at 7.30 and have a cuppa and toast in peace Grin

reastie · 31/01/2013 08:28

wiggles fb is only boring as you haven't befriended all of us Wink . Now, how can I hunt you down find you?

HobKnob · 31/01/2013 09:28

Yeah wiggs be friends with us! I'm actually me now for the first time ever- I'm Deborah Gregory and my profile picture is a rather tubby looking me next to a very very young Imogen (haven't worked out how to put pictures on yet!)

ponyo S did two 5.30ams in a row this week, it was HELL I tell you. They slept till a very respectable 7.15 this morning after I begged and I feel much better for it.

reastie gym sounds fun, when works for you? Btw what you saying about my lady bits eh?? Grin Wink I'm going to the nurse who I trust- she told me she has eight other coils to put in the day I'm going so I reckon she'll be alright.

Giving blood today, love it, get to lie down AND eat biscuits, win win!

blizy · 31/01/2013 13:00

Hobnob, I have requested your friendship Grin.

Not long back from soft play, the wee guy is sound asleep and I'm bored!

americanexpat · 31/01/2013 18:29

HobKnob - I had a proper chuckle at your new name. Grin If I'm not mistaken, you referred to your bucket fanjo a while ago. I'm not sure why I remember that, but your name always conjures references to bucket fanjo and wanker vest in my mind. Grin

Sorry to hear about the non-sleepers. ledkr - I'd deffo splash out on the sleep consultant, sleep is worth 250 quid imo!

L started the new abx on Monday and was sleeping better Tuesday morning already. My alarm clock has actually gone off the last two days. Shock His cough seems to be nearly gone and his nose has stopped running. Should've taken him weeks ago

Ponyo - I always have my breakfast at work, otherwise I can't enjoy it at home with L saying "bite? bite?" all the time (even when I have the exact same food he does).

reastie · 31/01/2013 18:31

American THAT was the term wasn't it - bucket fanjo Grin . I also remember that comment of hobknobs (as it really made me chuckle) but I couldn't remember the witty wording she used!

Hobknob we've got half term the week with 19th feb in it or else 2 weeks off at easter.

Blizy how are you diddly doing?

Tarlia · 31/01/2013 19:05

Hey Ladies, it's been a very long time! How are you all? I've popped on to wish all of our 2 year olds and almost 2yr olds a fantastic birthday! Is anyone doing a party? I think we will have a play date with cake and decorations for a couple of his best friends but not a real party. Hope you are all well and surviving the start of the terribles..

I would love to hear a brief summery of everyone's news if anyone has the time/energy pretty please Thanks and Wine.

HobKnob · 31/01/2013 19:13

Can't get used to being referred to as HobKnob, been debka for so long, I keep looking over my shoulder! Golly you lot have long memories, that WAS me with the wanker jacket expat!!

blizy we're friends now my lovely :)

expat good call on abs, great news on sleep!

reastie lets try and do something half term week, I assume our half term is the same as yours, but I'll double check tomorrow when I take Ims into pre school.

S didn't sleep today Hmm so here's hoping for a lovely long lie in tomorrow yeah right

HobKnob · 31/01/2013 19:15

tarlia sorry I forgot to say HI!! Blush Blush Blush Hope all is well with you and yours.

We'll have The Fam round for tea and Hello Kitty cake (brainwashed by her sister) and also go to the zoo just the 4 of us one day. Nothing major, I need to save up for Imogen's (soft play with all her friends)

ledkr · 31/01/2013 19:41

Nooooo wiggs don't succumb to the book of face its evil.

Well d slept ok last night so I feel better today but she doesn't seem too well today so I'm not expecting a good night but don't mind if she's poorly.
Saw gp today after a day in tears yesterday. He says its all to do with the para thyroid but gave me citalopram anyway.
I'm reluctant to go on them really so am trying to hold off untill I get my op. dh is going to do nights with d and they wi try to be understanding.
Last night I took the girls for tea and right at the end d started to squeal as didn't want her coat on. A woman next to us actually scowled right at me twice.
I joked with dh later that hes lucky I didn't end up in his cells after stabbing her with a fork!!!

wigglesrock · 31/01/2013 21:15

ledkr I know, its all a bit new Grin, and A refuses to wear her coat all the time and she stepped on a tub of dip in the back of the trolley a few days in Tescos and squirted it everywhere. Would have been feckin' hilarious has it happened to someone else Blush.

Ps I've asked some of you to be my friend on FB, just by nosying at other peoples friends - I'm FW btw.

Tarlia Hiya, glad you and Z are getting on well.

reastie · 31/01/2013 21:22

Hello tarlia how's tricks? How are you doing now? I remember you were having a tough time a while ago. We're just doing a party for immediate family, very small specialist group. I'm thinking of going all out and buying gruffalo plates/cups/everything else under the sun for it as Alice is currently loving the gruffalo.

ledkr I'm on citalopram - it's really helping me alot. But, I guess yours is a separate issue as the op should help it. DO you know how long you'll have to wait for it? ALice is terrible with coats too. And cardis. She runs away when I try and get a jumper/cardi on her shouting 'no cardi no cardi' like I'm trying to poison her or something Hmm . I think she must like the cold or something.

wiggles would you like me to suggest some friends on fb for you? You'll now have great fun trying to work out the rl names to the mn names Wink

wigglesrock · 31/01/2013 22:04

I know reastie I may unleashed my inner nosiness demon Grin Anna shouts "No coat Noooooo" as well Hmm

We're doing a small family/friends party for A as well a la Peppa Pig! Pox allowing of course. Playing it all by ear atm.

americanexpat · 31/01/2013 22:20

Tarlia - hello. Grin We're having some family over, not a big party or anything but they all missed L's 1st birthday. My life in short: moved back to US 5 months ago, just started back to work this month, L is in nursery full-time and loves it.

L's indifferent about his coat but won't leave the house without his mittens. Mi'ens, mi'ens, that's all I hear.

wiggles - I LOL'd re the dip. Grin I've noticed there aren't any photos of sexy Mr w you on FB, hmm?

blizy · 31/01/2013 22:30

Tarlia, lovely to hear from you, I hope Z is doing well. Not much to report in about me (I used to,be janedoe).

Hmm, what is the hobknob joke? Did I miss something? I,had a wee nosey on your FB I love the butterfly cake, I was thinking about doing something like that on Zoe's birthday. Was it a mould you used?

Reastie, I'm ok'ish thanks. Although dreading the run up,to Zoe's birthday again.

Wiggs, I have added you on FB.

HobKnob · 01/02/2013 10:52

blizy it is silly and juvenile like me cos it's got Knob (ie willy) in it I just cut and pasted the cake as far as I remember, (with buttercream icing), it was ages ago now. Must be bittersweet making a cake for Zoe x

wiggles not very chatty yet on FB..... Grin Hope the pox isn't spreading.

Up at 6 again this morning, girls fought like cat and dog then the small one fell asleep in the car on the way back from pre school. How can you make them sleep longer?? I don't get it! Ah well, this too will pass and all that. Keep thinking of my evil vacuuming at 5.30am plan when they're teenagers Grin

americanexpat · 01/02/2013 15:12

I will always laugh at a knob joke. ALWAYS. because I'm juvenile like Deb

blizy - I think of Zoe a lot, especially when L hits a milestone. It's so very unfair that you aren't enjoying the same with Zoe. Sad Do you have something planned for her birthday?

Twas -20C this morning and the wind chill is even worse, bloody freezing. We had another 6 inches of snow Wednesday and some roads are still icy. The car in front of me turning into L's nursery plowed into the snowbank at the corner. I may have snickered a bit because he zoomed around me shortly before that. Grin

blizy · 01/02/2013 15:20

That's ok, I always laugh and knob jokes and "dirty" stuff. I live in the gutter Grin.

American, I would have laughed too, idiot!
Omg I would cry if it was that cold here, how are you coping?

Hobknob, I think I will buy a mould. Think we will just do the same as last year, keep,it a wee tradition. We are goin for a champagne afternoon tea in town on the the 27th. Head to the cream with balloons and a card on her birthday and make a cake, buy some nice pink roses to brighten up her place in the living room.

I also bought all of our family butterfly candles for Xmas, with a tag that read "please light this on my birthday".

tadjennyp · 01/02/2013 19:10

Hello - sorry been awol for ages with bad back, physio (go physios fourfor!) and then general bleurghness for ages! Sorry I missed Dilly's and Ben's birthdays - hope you all had a fab time and they loved their presents.

Was supposed to be parents' night out at pre-school but dh has gone to San Francisco for the day (up at 4 and back at 11 tonight) so that's spoiled. Sad Never mind, next month.

Hope everyone else is well and not suffering too badly (are you having your thyroid out ledkr? My Dad had his removed and Mum said he was like a different person afterwards, no longer sarky and grumpy all the time). Glad the citalopram is working reastie - did me the power of good too. Thinking of you and Zoe as always blizy.

Fingers crossed that all the fab thread members are ok and I'm not passing whatever this lurgy is through the keyboard! Happy birthday to all little two year olds in the coming week! X

ILovePonyo · 01/02/2013 22:10

Hi all!

Just put A t bed at about 9.15 because I'm secretly hoping she'll sleep in and also she was ridiculously full of beans this evening :) We noticed when we undressed her for bath that she had a few scratches on her collar bone/neck, I asked her what happened and she said the name of a child at nursery. I am a bit pissed off and will bring it up on monday, it might be pfb but I don't care. Is it bad that I told her to push back if the child scratches her again?!

deb 5.30am is A's wake up time Confused I wish I knew how to make them sleep longer! As soon as she wakes up she cries for 'poddige' (porridge) and theres no chance of getting her back down. I am really hoping for even a little lie in for ALL of us on the thread this weekend!

wigs Wink fb buddy :) Hows the new hair doooo?

tarlia lovely to hear from you. I think for birthday we are sending her to nursery as normal in the day (is that mean?!) then doing a mini party with peppa pig cake at weekend, it will prob only be a few family members and couple of friends though. My news... I have a new job which is going well and A is at nursery full time, and very funny too :)

american I am Shock at the weather, yuk. haha to idiot driver, serves him right!

blizy your day for Z sounds lovely. I like the idea of the candles, its important the rest of Z's family remember her too and that is a nice way to do it.

We have another coat refuser here, A sees shoes and coat as a very fun game most of the time which involve her running away and shrieking Hmm She will sometimes wear her fluffy white pimp coat because its so fluffy. My dad bought her really nice red duffel coat and I've been trying to make her wear it, she keeps saying "no" and "yuk" which makes me feel a bit sad Blush

Anyway thats about it, we are planning a possible ikea trip and library trip at the weekend, its a rock and roll lifestyle here you know Wink

wigglesrock · 01/02/2013 22:27

ponyo Annas first words in the morning are "Peppa"? "downtairs" Grin more often barked as a command or "Fia" plantatively wailed [eyeroll]

My hair is sleek and shiny and will remain so for at least another 8 hours or so!

tadjennyp Hope you're on the mend now x

Re the pox situation - Olivia appeared to have flown through it this week, just the spots which are now crusted over, no temp or sickness but she was in foul form this evening - lots of wailing, moaning and general "I want my Mummy" which was nice to hear because all week she's been saying most things in the stylee of an opera singer which was soooooo infuriating and a bit funny Grin Her teacher sent a message via Sofia to say how much she was missed so that was nice. Hopefully back to school on Monday.

blizy Zoes traditions sound lovely x

ILovePonyo · 01/02/2013 22:39

wiggles A gets her downstairs and upstairs mixed up, which usually means she'll stand at the top of the stairs wailing "upstaaaaaairs" when actually she is upstairs and means the opposite Grin

Sleek and shiny hair sounds lush :) Aw at O being missed and massive Grin at her opera style diva-ness (aww) Hope she's fully ended soon.

MizK · 02/02/2013 19:05

Hey everyone! God its been a while since chatting to you guys, sorry I'm crap! Happy birthday to the 2 year olds! Can it be that they're so old already?
I'm not doing personals as on my phone and feel intimidated by how much I need to catch up on!
Needless to say I've missed coming on and thank god for FB so I still get to see what everyone's up to!
Am in process of uni interviews etc so super busy but at least I've had offers. Anybody seen Old School? That'll be me come September haha!
Tons of love to you all, am having best weekend, child free and being spoiled by DP. After taking me on a nice dinner date last night he's now parked me in front of Revenge with a glass of wine whilst he cooks, love him!
I promise not to be so mememe next time I'm going to post way more often, promise! X
