I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread? Lets hope it's a lucky one for me.

Oops Blush I meant hen weekendGrin.

wigglesrock · 22/08/2012 13:03

reastie think it may be a hen weekend Grin, Alice did really well last night - well done! Think I might move A soon.

blizy God what a shite few days, big hugs Wine, Brew xxxx

Have spent a few hours trying to get S and Os uniforms organised Shock, Olivia hates shopping in any shape or form so it was pleasant trying to get school shoes Hmm, never mind the bloody cost. Thank God for 25% off at S'burys. Had to go to McDonalds afterwards to recover Grin

reastie · 23/08/2012 08:23

ahh, hen week end Blush . are you going blizy ? Is it the kind of thing you could go to but not the whole week end?

I think I have a teething baby here. Either that or injection reaction to the pox booster but I am going slightly crazy! She wouldn't sleep for her nap yesterday then I took her to a messy play thing via sure start, which she liked but went a bit manic from lack of sleep, then when it finished and I took her home she had a huge tantrum lasting well over 2 hours Shock and took over 2 hours in the evening to get to sleep. Anyway she's constantly chewing her fingers and dribbling and we think it might be her molars. I think we've been relatively lucky with teething so far so this is a bit of a shock. No idea what to do with her and got to take her to work soon so I can see gcse results of my students . She's currently wearing a waterproof all in one (at her insistence) stinking of poo (that she won't let me change) playing with all the pennies from my purse Hmm

oh, but on the plus side at the messy play thing yesterday I had 4 people say how bright alice was independently of each other one even mentioned the genius word Grin

wiggles I saw sains had 25% off clothes, might have to have a look.

where is onmehols btw???

wigglesrock · 23/08/2012 08:53

reastie A got 4 new teeth over the past 2 weeks, 2 up and 2 down - she may almost have a full set, I don't look, I avoid As teeth at all costs Blush apart from brushing! A has also started properly playing on her own - hence my copious amunts of MNetting - I think I'm supposed to be sewing labels on school uniforms. Have these people never heard of pens Grin

But she has became so attached to S - every morning the first thing she says is Fia and just before she sleeps as well. First week of school should be fun Hmm

Hope your GCSE students did well xx

blizy how are you this fine pissing with rain morning?

debka · 23/08/2012 12:25

Hello everyone,

blizy it's appalling that there's nothing to offer you. I hope you can find something. Bloody bollox to AF too Angry We lit a candle for Zoe yesterday :)

reastie defo a genius Grin S has also been teething, she's got all but her back molars now, I think they tend to come through at about 2. Molars can be a bugger though, could be that bothering her.

S has turned into a little monster overnight, she is stubborn and stampy and screamy and normal. Good job she's cute and asleep.

You'd have been proud of me at SW on Tues, I lost 4lb, got my 7.5st award, slimmer of the week AND my group's Woman of the Year!!! I celebrated by eating 100g Dairy Milk and half a massive bag of liquorice allsorts Blush

debka · 23/08/2012 12:26

BTW saw ledkr on another thread how very dare she abandon us

reastie · 23/08/2012 12:36

Woman of the year deb? Well done you. Do you get any money off or feature in their magazine or some such? I bet the lady running the classes likes to make a point to the newbies how much you've lost to encourage them at how well it works Grin . Btw 7.5 stone is amazing - that's practically a whole person!

Got students' results. They were lower than I had expected and predicted Sad I feel quite down about it. I was beating myself up at what a lousy teacher I must be but then thinking about it I only took them for 1 out of 6 terms of their course. I'm hoping I don't get pulled into the heads office because they didn't do as well as they should have (which I have known happen before to others Shock ).

Alice and I made cheese scones this morning - she's now eating her body weight in them Grin

blizy · 23/08/2012 13:09

Keeping busy this morning wiggles, I have new baby mindee (she is fast asleep at the minute). Off to book bug at the library later, then school pick up.

Debka- massive well done! Check you woman of the yearGrin! I hope S settles down and drops the grump.

Reastie- I am going to the while weekend, I think it will do me good to get out. You only had the kids for one term, I am sure you will have done your very best. Please don't beat yourself up about it.

OP posts:
americanexpat · 23/08/2012 16:21

reastie - sounds like teeth to me but I'm never sure until the teeth actually come through. Confused All 4 of L's first molars came through at the same time, it was a nightmare for a week.

deb - well done on 7.5 st and woman of the year! I can't keep sweet chocolate or biscuits in the house, it's a disaster when I do. [eyes nearly empty packet of chocolate hob nobs]

blizy - hopefully the hen weekend will be a bit of a distraction for you. How's baby mindee settling in?

We finally gave L a pillow in his cot a few weeks ago. I put him to bed, tuck his blanket around him and he rolls over and goes to sleep, it's very cute. :)

ILovePonyo · 23/08/2012 21:00

Hello all, I had a dream I'd done a big post on this thread last night so I am clearly feeling guilty about lack of posting Grin

I've been at my mums the past few days, we took A to sealife (which she wasn't too fussed about Hmm but loved running around outside afterwards whilst we had a cuppa) but also been at the hospital because I have punctured my ear drum apparently Shock I've had quite a lot of ear pain plus its been bleeding, bleurgh, I am also half deaf which is frustrating. Anyway got drops now but apparently I might not get my full hearing back for a month Shock You don't know what you've got til its gone eh!

bliz I'm still awaiting regular sessions from cruse. Really sorry you couldn't get any help, am very angry for you :( Are you taking anti-d's? Sorry can't remember if you;ve said. I've been feeling a bit low but don't know if there is anypoint taking them as they don't change what has happened if that makes sense?

reastie hows A? I did Grin at her wearing a waterproof smelling of poo tho :) Teeth are baffling me, A seems to have immense pain/stroppiness but no teeth appearing, then they cut through and shes ok Confused

deb massive well done, how brill! You will be the inspiration for all slimmers soon :)

american just any old pillow or a certain pillow for babies? A likes sleeping on a pillow on the settee, might get her one.

wigs aww at A saying fia :) :)

Am off now to read my lovely kindle, have become engrossed in it now and dp is out so I'm going to make the most of it!

americanexpat · 24/08/2012 12:16

Ponyo - punctured ear drum?! Shock I HOPE IT HEALS SOON I hope you can hear me! Grin It was just a regular bed pillow that we had spare. If we don't give him a pillow or he throws it out of the cot, he makes one out of his blanket.

I'm starting to think we might actually pull this move off. Shock Hopefully we sell the car in the next few days, BHF is coming to collect the remaining furniture on Monday, the council is taking everything else on Tuesday. The neighbours made an insulting offer for our car so I'm a bit Angry and Hmm towards them now. I understand wanting to get a deal but when it's people you know, it's just taking the piss.

reastie · 25/08/2012 07:19

ponyo I keep meaning to say. We've stopped Alice's morning milk feed for a week now (had to as going back to work too early to do it) and she so far hasn't even seemed to notice it's stopped Shock , just accepted she doesn't get milk and she hasn't even asked for it, so that went better than expected! Ear sounds nasty Shock .

blizy I hope you enjoy the hen week end and a change of scene and getting out and about is enjoyable. Btw did you hear lots of people are now heading off to Las Vegas after the Prince Harry thing? Hmm

american aww to Leo with his pillow. We are thinking about getting this for Alice as she hates being stuck in a regular grobag but moves all over the place in her cot/bed so would never stay under a duvet and we're scared she might stick her head under the duvet and suffocate or get too hot [pfb] . How annoying re: those neighbours - then again, those Scottish folks do have a rep for being tight wads don't they (apart from blizy of course) Wink

Had a horrible day yesterday. Some of my students got lower grades than anticipated and some of it might have inadvertently been my fault. I spent most of the afternoon in tears as I felt so awful about it and had to speak to irate parents on the phone about it.

wigglesrock · 25/08/2012 08:41

ponyo hope ear is on the mend - ouch xxx

american I hate that kind of tightness, I mean we're as skint as bleep but actual meaness is one of those things that drives me insane

reastie xx it must be very difficult dealing with parents and I speak as someone who actively doesn't engage my childrens teachers Blush. A quick - are they getting on okay?, do you need me for anything? is my conversation. Hope you can relax over the weekend xx

NeedToSleep just wondering how your mil is?

blizy hope hen night is easy on you xxxx

Off to soft play

k2togm1 · 25/08/2012 12:53

Hello ladies!
Just read the last few posts and wanted to congratulate debka , well done woman! Your treat was well deserved!
amerex glad the move is going alright, I was going to make an offer to a friend for his car and now you've made me think twice about it, don't want to offend him!!Blush
Can't remember anything else, lots of love to everyone else!

americanexpat · 25/08/2012 18:46

knit2tog - don't worry about making him an offer as long as it's reasonable, our neighbours were just trying to take advantage. A mechanic bought it and paid £400 more than their absolute highest offer (still lower than the actual value). They also made a low offer on our television which I sold for twice as much. They were obviously hoping we were so desperate to sell that they'd get a massive bargain. Hmm And reastie - they're not even Scottish so you can't use that stereotype! Grin

blizy - Hope you're having a nice time at the hen night. xx

wiggles - Hope you survived soft play. Grin

ILovePonyo · 25/08/2012 21:26

Hi folks,

american WHAAAAAT??!! Grin Wow at your tight neighbours, bloody cheek! Things are meving quickly then, exciting :)

reastie we have stopped A's morning bot bot a while back too (unless shes awake at 5am Hmm) I get her up and she says 'bot bot' and i say no, so she says 'crispies' with a big grin on her face, very funny. Then she scoffs a big bowl of rice crispies no problem. Am not sure what to do when she goes back to nursery 3 days a week, i used to give her a bottle and leave her to it whilst I get showered, don't think I could leave her in the high chair though?! Sorry to hear about your students, its not all your fault though is it? Hope the parents werent too arsey.

wiggles how was soft play?!

blizy hope you enjoy your night as much as you can, are you drinking at the mo or will you be sticking to fizzy pop?!

Hi k2, hope you and P are doing well, lots of love back to you :)

We have had a pretty boring day, took A to the park and as soon as we got there it pissed tipped it down, so we had an ice cream in the car and went to lidl Hmm A has been very funny though, especially when I catch her dancing at a song thats on, her 'dancing' is basically crouching a bit and waving her bum from side to side slowly Grin She also gave a biscuit to a slug in the garden earlier then watched it eat it fro about 10 mins, bleurgh.

dp is out tonight so I'm having a nice chilled evening, hope everyone else is too :)

wigglesrock · 25/08/2012 21:54

Survived soft play, it was dead on, has been a while since I took Anna and she was into everything - not for her the toddlers corner, not when there's monkey bars and giant inflatable balls and super fast slides to be trying out Hmm I was bloody knackered. My sister and Emma came with us - bless my sister, she hasn't frequented many soft play places and she was doing her best to hide her pfbness Grin

k2togm1 hope you and P are getting on well - lovely to hear from you.

ponyo we have cut down the bo bos. A asks at every opportunity with big Puss in Boots eyes and when told No, just at bedtime, she asks for "lolly" Blush

Not much exciting here, Mr W is on nights so I'm watching bad tv and flicking through the Argos catalogue - such an exciting time! I have a big 40th party to go to in a few weeks in Dublin, so am hoping that by willing a few stone to drop off me it might happen Grin If I put down the cream crackers, cheese, pickles and olives it might help!

Am trying on both girls school uniforms tomorrow - there might be a tear shed - mine of course. Their school was knocked down a few years ago and the new one is ready to move into, so everything is shiny and new, including the uniform - ties for a primary school Shock there wasn't much consultation with parents on that one!

ILovePonyo · 25/08/2012 22:35

wiggles massive Grin at 'lolly' with puss in boots eyes, A does the same but for 'bic bic' she has a glint in her eye though so I'm sure she knows the answer is (usually) no! Does A not have a bedtime bottle then? A still does.

I have one of my best mates wedding next month, I am a fatty and need to eat better/less Blush but keep putting it off. I'll regret it when I see the photos!

Aww at uniforms, I had a tie at primary school but not secondary Confused

ILovePonyo · 25/08/2012 22:37

Oh just looked at your pics Grin Grin look at S leaning on her spade! A looks so grown up too. Lovely girls :)

wigglesrock · 25/08/2012 22:40

ponyo Sorry I worded that badly, she only has one at bedtime and if she wakes up vvv early. I also wore a tie to primary but not grammar (excuse me) school Grin.

I used to go to weddings now I go to 40th birthday parties Shock

ILovePonyo · 25/08/2012 22:43

Haha my friend is nearly 40 but would kill me for posting that on the internet! A and A (:)) are the same with their bottles by the sounds of it then Another sigh of relief that A is not the only pain in the bum waking early too...

blizy · 26/08/2012 00:37

Ooft, I is drunk! I am having a fab time, strange that it is full of the midvives who cared for me (I have 2 close midwife friends). We ha a dance class this afternoon, was so funny! We had a naked butler too- yummy! GrinGrin

blizy · 27/08/2012 07:15

Morning ladies,

I had such a fab weekend, not laughed so much in ages! Hangover was not too bad but I'm paying for it now, sooooo tired! Thank god I have no wee ones today.

shock American, only 2 more sleeps! Are you all ready to go?

OP posts:
blizy · 27/08/2012 07:39

Just read back to catch up,

wiggles I wore a tie to primamry and high school. The local schools here wear ties too, although the primary one is fake and on a bit of elastic.
Oh when you sad "dead on" earlier I said it out loud in your accent Grin.

reastie hey you, i'll have you know that we are not tight, just a stereotype (btw, we don't walk around in kilts either) Grin. I hope things have settled down with the exam results, please don't be blaming yourself, I know you worked your socks off.

big waves to k2!

Where is ledkr, has she abandoned us?

Speaking to the midwives at the weekend adn I have found out that there is a psychologist in the maternity hosptial for bereavment and counselling in subsequent pregnancies. I do remember my consultant mentioning it at the post mortem meeting, totally forgot about that. I am going to look into it.

I am Grin at ponyo's Anya feeding slugs.

Right go to go, mindees here soon. Have a good day y'all.
