blizy glad you enjoyed the week end, I'm now waiting for tagged pictures on fb to see all the antics you got up to Wink . Btw hope the psychologist thing works out, and, if you can have it, why didn't your GP/telephone consultation person know Shock Angry . Btw - you mean you don't all wear kilts all the time?! Next thing you'll tell me is you don't all eat haggis and deep fried mars bars Wink Grin

Re: ties for school - I had a tie at primary school which was a proper tie not one of your elasticated jobs then an open buttoned shirt with no tie at grammar school . In other school news my parents have said they will pay half the fees for Alice for private school for Primary Shock Shock . DH and I still aren't sure what to do but I want to try and sort out where I think she has a chance of going so we can put her name on the nursery before it gets booked up (if it isn't already). Even half price private school is still ££££ for us and means I won't be able to give up work if I can't cope.

wiggles Grin to your comment on used to go to weddings now it's 40th parties. DH and I watched a teen movie over the week end (didn't realise it was a teen movie until it started - 'I am number 4' FYI) and at the end we both looked at each other and said 'think we're a bit old now for the teen movies'

I miss ledkr

k2 how are things with DH now?

Think work might be sorted but will wait and see. It actually is a bit my fault though and I'm scared of being told off - I do work hard but I just tread water all the time and didn't do something thoroughly enough which is why I feel so awful.

wigglesrock · 27/08/2012 08:25

blizy glad you had a fab drunken dancing time on Sat Grin Hope you can get somewhere with hospital psychologist - sounds the way to go. Oh I bought 3 ties - for the girls. An extra one for when Sofia one of the girls "forgets" where she abandoned it Grin 2 of them are "fakes" - I think Olivia can do less damage with a tie on elastic than with a proper one - am envisaging her tying up other children to trees Blush She was a bit over fond of the American West stories they did in nursery school Grin

Tried their uniforms on yesterday - not sure who had more of a tear in their eye - my Mum, my Dad, me or my Nana Grin

Must go - am trying to persuade A that she is trying to put her shoes on the wrong feet - apparently its got feck all to do with me Shock - "mine, mine, mine"

ledkr · 27/08/2012 18:27

Hi all. Im soooo sorry for the lack of posting but my laptop has disappeared and my big pc was not working and I have a crap phone so literally no tinternet.
pc is up and running now but i hate using it laptop shopuld be sorted this week.
I have been very busy too with the school hols. I love having Ella about and we have been having fun.
I went camping with the van on my own this weekend as dh was working.Went with dil and dgs and girls,we had a blast,we even put the awning up alone. Dills loved the disco and played musical bumps like a pro.The compare kept saying "you are out in the pepper pig t shirt" as if she got it Hmm d just ignored her and carried on dancing. She can also play whats the time mr wolf, which involves a lot of ear splitting screaming.
She has also done a few wees on the potty but she sits on it back to front. She is really funny now,dh just lobbed her baby onto the settee and she gave him the evil eye before picking it up carefully and giving it back to him,all whilst frowning at him dramatically.
There were some right arseholes on the site who were shouting and swearing untill the small hours,i am going to name and shame the campsite as they didnt do a thing about it. I left one of D's smelly nappies outside the noisy bastards tent as i left (cowardly emoticon)
So how the devil are you all then?? Any chance of a bit of a summary. I have missed mumsnet but have had so much spare time.I am meant to be going on the meetup in London next month so i can tell you what they are all like.

Grannyapple · 27/08/2012 18:49

Hello ledkr. Glad to hear you've been having a fab time! D sounds hilarious! Oh glad you mentioned potty training...I was just thinking today about whether N will need to start soon & what the signs are? What is this London meetup you speak of Hmm?

Been off work last week & it's been lovely...think I could get used to being a housewife (if I could get paid same salary as I do for work, & still put N in nursery Wink). Went to Hever Castle yesterday...was stunning. Lazy ish day today. Back to work on Wednesday (boo!).

Eh, summary?! wiggs went on hols in her native country but girls thought it was like Ibiza only with better chips Grin, american moves back home in something like 2 days time, reastie has had a stressful week with exam results for her students & blizy's pct are a waste of space...tho she's been out on the lash at the w/e & has a few good stories from it Grin. Apologies to anyone I have missed/not elaborated on...I'm usually rubbish at summarising!

reastie · 27/08/2012 19:01

granny we nearly went to Hever Castle yesterday!!!!!!!!!! Wouldn't that have been funny to either meet or pass by each other with no idea! Did Nate like the water maze? Alice thought it was hilarious!

ledkr can I add to the summarising that ponyos ears are quite literally bleeding Shock , deb won woman of the year at her SW, oh, and Deb and I had meet up, choc has changed names to princessofchina or something very similar and had a fabbo time at the olympics, four4 has won tickets to the Paralympics and had a great holiday with the gang, erm, that's all I can remember at the min. We missed you and I actually nearly spat out my water to the stories of D - she sounds such a giggle.

reastie · 27/08/2012 19:14

To those of you without fb, have added a couple of pictures finally of the reastie deb meet up

Grannyapple · 27/08/2012 19:40

Ah brill photos reastie & debka. Forgot to say that wiggs photos were fab too!

Liked the thread you were on reastie re Xmas bargains...was thinking the other day that I need to start getting some bargains in now really...

Grannyapple · 27/08/2012 19:44

Oh..& yeah I was wondering if you would be there yesterday reastie as its in your neck of the woods, right? Was stunning...didn't go into the water maze, but we've said we're going to get an annual pass as didn't realise it was so near...just trying to figure out when is the best time of year to buy it to get most out of it (typically Scottish Wink).

DH cooking me dinner (about feckin time...can't really remember the last time he did that in past 6 months)....steak & chips....yum!

reastie · 27/08/2012 19:46

granny don't buy the annual pass - we have it but found out 2 weeks later if you buy the historic houses association friends membership (google it) it's just a few squid more than hever annual passes and it gets you into tons of places all over the place including hever and also riverhill gardens in sevenoaks. We shall do that next year!

wigglesrock · 27/08/2012 20:03

reastie photos are fab, all the girls look beautiful.

debka you especially look fanfeckintastic, well done hun (know its a bit Netmums but couldn't give a shiney shite Grin)

grannyapple I have sneaked some C'mas bits and pieces into the house already Blush, off to nosy at said thread!

ledkr welcome home back, missed you xx

ponyo how's the ear?

wigglesrock · 27/08/2012 20:40

reastie sorry meant to say I can't offer much advice re private schools but I do lurk on education boards quite a bit and the consensus seems to be that private post primary is much more beneficial than private primary plus the outgoings re uniforms, school trips, clubs etc can be quite high for private schools so you'd need to factor all that in as well. All this as well as the "moral" issues Grin

Private schools aren't really an option for us here so like I said "I know nothing" Grin

debka · 27/08/2012 20:57

Ooo I'm feeling the luuurve tonight laydeeeez!!

Haven't been on for a while and dammit, I've missed you all!

wiggles I read a comment of yours on a being honest thread, you said how much you loved MrW, the very marrow of him. Been thinking of that a lot since then, what a wonderful thing to say and to feel.

ledkr we missed you, great to hear about Dills. I hope you'll be able to come on here a bit more soon

expat wow, moving so soon, best of luckola!

grannyapple we drove past Hever Castle today, it's blooming miles from us though [disappointed]. We went to a craft show near Henley On Thames, it was ever so pooosh, MNers everywhere I swear, every other child was Horatio or Pearl Grin. Saw the PILs, they are a funny pair, honestly.

reastie what a horrible feeling, I hope it turns out ok (gcse results). Ooo big decision re private primary, did you go to private primary school? Is the private school much better than the local state schools? TBH I would probs say no to that offer like it would ever happen!, I'd hate to feel beholden to my parents (did for a long time), and I'd want the option to give up/cut down on work. However it's not something I've ever considered, that's just a knee jerk reaction.

blizy glad you had a good night, sounds like it was just what you needed, hope you enjoyed your quiet day today.

Watching Lorraine whatserface atm doin cookin, by heck she gets on my wick, think she's popular on here though Hmm

Re potty training, are you all getting geared up? I didn't do Ims till she was 2.5, hadn't even thought of starting S yet Blush. She likes standing in the potty, is that a ready sign? Grin

my size 18 jeans are feeling a bit roomy....

ILovePonyo · 27/08/2012 21:11

Ooh its busy here int it?!

deb I just watched that Lorraine whatserface too, she annoys me as well, I can't quite figure out why. A likes standing in her potty too! She did sit on it and do a poo the other day with her nappy on Grin

reastie and wiggles what is this 'moral' ishoo with private schools?I am clueless about stuff like that. My friend has told me to put A;s name down for primary school already Shock that can't be right can it!?

wigs I am still deaf which is annoying but at least my ear has stopped bleeding. Yuk. Wow at getting xmas stuff already, have you done a list yet Wink

ledkr yay, welcome back! Loved the description of D on hols, saw your thread about the campsite wankers, how annoying Angry Meet up sounds exciting! I was thinking about when we all met up this time last year, can't believe the summer is nearly over now, we should have planned another really :(

blizy glad you had a good night and hope the mindees behaved today Wink Are you going to ring the hospital psychologist this week? Good luck x x

granny I've been off work last week too, back tomorrow, I can't be bothered :( Blush I've really liked being off too.

My mum visited today, we went for some lunch then to the park where it rained a bit, the only other mum on the park was someone I used to work with who I last saw when A was about 6 months old! Her little boy is nearly 2 and guess what, shes pregnant again :) Funnily enough dp and I had a chat this morning about the possibility of having more, we both said 'no' Grin (Except that I feel guilty about A being on her own)

Hope everyone had a good bank hol :)

reastie · 27/08/2012 21:17

Just a quickie re: schools. Thing is round here we still have the 11+, so the hope with private school is it get get her through her 11+ to get into a state grammar school, the secondary moderns options where she would go tbh aren't v good (to put it nicely - I've been to a few as a teacher). It depends which local school she gets into really as to how good they are but the decent ones are really oversubscribed and our most local school is pretty grim. I want to think about it now so whever we do send her I can get her name down for the preschool. Gtg Alice crying - she's still not asleep

ILovePonyo · 27/08/2012 21:47

Hm it's a tough one reastie. Where I live the schools are rough as anything, I don't want A going to primary here and definitely not secondary, so we need to move but realistically might not be moved by the time she starts primary. It's a big stress so I'm not thinking about it! Dp used to do supply teaching before he got his permanent job so knows a few of the schools here too, he thinks most are rough except the catholic ones which we don't really want to send A to.
That's not helpful for you is it Grin Blush what is your instinct telling you re private school?
Hope A is asleep now.

Emski76 · 27/08/2012 21:53

Hi all
Lots of chat on here again...tut, tut...
Led, good to hear from you, D sounds like such a character.

Deb, I'm the same as you, Ben was toilet trained, straight onto toilet at 2.10 years old. I'd tried twice before but he didn't manage it. I will definitely be taking Noah's lead on it and don't have any plans for a very long time to start!

Wiggles, Ive got a fair bit for Xmas too. I just love buying things for other people, especially the boys. Everytime I go into the loft I curse at how much I've bought!
Will def be popping onto xmas bargains thread!
Expat, good luck with the move!

Blizy, glad you had a good time at the hen night, sounds like you managed to relax.

Hi to granny and everyone else. Will pop onto fb in a moment too to look at your pics Reastie

blizy · 27/08/2012 22:13

Yay, you are all back!Grin

The weekend was fab, I was a very pissed bit tipsy. We had a dance lesson to Donna summers "hot stuff". We were all rather drunk and thought we were superstars, in reality we were crap BlushGrin. There was a naked butler called Phil, I kept calling him Phil MacCrackin (say it out loud)Blush.

Good times have been short lived, crashing back down today. I can't believe this time 18 months ago I was huffing and puffing through contractions. 18 months tomorrow since my first and last cuddle with my precious baby, how can that be?

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 27/08/2012 22:22

Blizy I Grin at the first bit of your post then felt so much for you when I read the second part. I will be thinking of you and Z tomorrow. My friend was talking today about how fast the last 18 months have gone, how much A has grown etc, and when I read your post it made me think it is so unfair for you Sad What are you doing tomo, do you have the mindees? Sending you a hug x x

wigglesrock · 27/08/2012 22:42

blizy I know, I was thinking that earlier. So bloody unfair xx I get Phil MacCrackin Blush

emski I'm the same, I didn't start to toilet train Sofia until she was 2.6 years and I left Olivia until she was 2.8 years, both were done and dusted within 3 days and O was dry at night as well. I never rush it, although A does come and tell you just before, during and after she is doing a poo Grin. Every time Mr W leaves the room she points at him and shouts "POO" - its very funny!

I watched a good film tonight "Safe House" with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds - I love a bit of Denzel Grin

blizy · 27/08/2012 23:09

Ponyo- I only have the school kids tomorrow, so have school runs to do morning and afternoon. I only have the kids from3 pm to 4:45 ish. Apart from that, no plans. anyway, I'm going to try and sleep. Kids coming at 7am.

Night Night xxxx

wigglesrock · 28/08/2012 08:33

blizy much love, thinking of you, dh and of course Zoe xx

debka · 28/08/2012 09:40

blizy (to borrow a Wigglesism) I have something in my eye. Damn, your girl should be running you ragged today. Thinking of you, we'll light Zoe a candle later. xxx

Glad I'm not the only one who cba with potty training yet! S goes and gets the baby wipes for me when she's doing a poo Hmm

Sun's out here, ought to be running around outside really. Girls are fighting playing on our bed and I'm MNing. Out to Sainsbos soon, the joys...

ILovePonyo · 28/08/2012 09:40

Thinking of you and Z too blizy, hope you're getting some sleep x x

ledkr · 28/08/2012 09:59

Im not really potty training btw, just introducing the throne.I also potty train later and its always been a doddle.
ponyo we could still do a meet up if you like, maybe at half term for lunch and a play.
deb where can i see a picture of your slim self?Well done btw it such an acheivement.
blizy I often feel terrible after a good session on the piss so im sure its only exasperating your pain love. I wish we could say something to help but we cant, its making it seem more cruel that you are having this stupid delay in ttc but remember it took me 2 years after my mc after getting pg very quickly before that, also 4 years to have Dilly and there was nothing wrong.Thinking of youxx
Im at work today, poor D was squealing with excitment as i was leaving and waving at dh,her face fell when she realised i wasnt taking her Sad
