I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread? Lets hope it's a lucky one for me.

Hi guys

blizy great you booked Vegas - it'll be upon you as soon as you know it Grin . Wasn't it today your phone consultation? How did it go? How was the new baby mindee?

onme good to see you again - wondered where you went when you didn't post again after you returned. Hope DIlly is better now. I'm loving the school hols too, but then, I would wouldn't I Grin

deb what dragged you to the delights Hmm of maidstone?

american I think you just had the wrong aerobics instructor for aerobic step then - it should be boring and repetitive for sure! There's a fabulouso 'celeb' personal trainer who does the proper step class at my gym - she is amazing and definitely far from bored Grin . It's a shame I can't make that time for that class any more though Sad . Might try zumba next week Confused . Btw if I was slim enough I would've had those jeans you were flogging Grin Envy

PC how is the spotty one?

Well, I'm very slowly getting there with my weight loss. I've now lost 2 stone this year officially (not going by the potentially overzealous scales at the gym but by my ones at home). How is it that absolutely none of my clothes seem to look any different on me though?! Sad

Hot here today. Alice and I baked biscuits this morning. I thought it would be one of those activities where I try and do something fun and it all goes hideously wrong and she hates it (like most things I try tbh) but she got really into it - decorated the top of them with raisins and have lots of interesting shaped biscuits which were attacked with a spoon pre oven. Reduced sugar obv to make them semi healthy Wink

reastie · 17/08/2012 13:46

american I mean shouldN'T not should be boring and repetitive obviously!!!!

debka · 17/08/2012 13:52

reastie Grin at reduced sugar biscuits- remember my girls' Party Rings? Wink

I wanted to go to a cake decorating supplies shop near Maidstone and DH wanted to go to a Land Rover garage, so we decided to have lunch in Maidstone. It was pretty grim tbh. Got my gold pen though, and the rest of the day (and night, nudge nudge wink wink) was great.

mizk I laughed at C putting all her energy into achieving her massive size! Bean is a dinkster but talks quite a lot.

debka · 17/08/2012 13:53

Ah bugger, forgot to say MAHOOSIVE well done to reastie on your brilliant weight loss, good work!!

PrincessOfChina · 17/08/2012 14:33

Wow Reastie that weight loss is awesome. I've still only lost a stone this year but I've been back in the diet this week in a bid to lose half a stone before the weddings we have to go to in a few weeks.

MizK R is also ginormous. I looked at her in her cot earlier and wondered how much longer we can keep her in there.

onme I miss you tales of mad PIL!

blizy How exciting to have booked a honeymoon. Sounds fab!

deb I've been keeping an eye on you and your weight loss. You're doing amazing. Do you still run? I'm doing a half marathon in October, I was doing it to raise money for a friend with cancer but sadly he died lat week so I'll do it in his memory instead. He was only 32, with a 4 year old. R's been getting lots if cuddles as a result!

R is very spotty but on top form. Going a little bonkers in the house especially as its raining again. Putrid the PIL round earlier so I could do a bit of work and I'll be working again later while DP goes out with his friends. Heston very unfair!

americanexpat · 17/08/2012 20:27

reastie - well done on the weight loss! I think I find regular step boring compared to body step, because body step is a 5 minute routine then something completely different - it's just my short attention span. Grin The regular step class also builds on the same routine throughout the class, tbh I can't remember more than about 4 steps so I get horribly lost. Blush

MizK - L is enormous too, not fat just big! The neighbours have a baby the same age and L is at least 3 inches taller.

blizy - Enjoy Vegas! I've never been but everyone says it's brilliant, still loads to do even if you don't gamble. How was your phone appt?

A girl I knew in school lost her 4 month old baby to SIDS last month, she's started a blog and it's absolutely heartbreaking. Sad It reminds me how lucky we are, it can all change so quickly and with no warning.

wigglesrock · 19/08/2012 19:25

HIYA Grin

blizy so pleased you have booked honeymoon and a little bit Envy Grin

PrincessOfChina this isn't a bloody hotel you know young lady, you can't just swan in and out Grin, am also very Envy of your Olympic jaunts especially the gymnastics. I have a huge inappropriate crush on Lewis Smith Blush Glad R is doing so well with the pox

reastie well done on the 2 stone babelicious.

Well against my better judgement, we had a fab time Grin The weather was brilliant, apart from a few afternoons where Noahs ark would have been handy but the local summer schemes let you stick any "townies" in for the afternoon/morning sessions so the girls had a great time. We have better tans than usual Shock, I refuse to listen to the idea that it might be windburn! As S and O said "it was like Ibiza but with better chips" Blush

Anna is doing brilliant - she fell on the second day of the holiday and badly scrapped the side of her face the wind blew her over, so she made a few pounds from some old people who felt sorry for her and gave her some money for the sweetie shop Grin. We also went to an open farm [shudder], where S fulfilled a life time dream and rode a horse, with a hat and everything! She loved it, we may have some hobby issues at some point, she also loved boogie boarding Grin. Although we have discovered the one thing in the world that Olivia is afraid of - said horses Shock She wouldn't go near them , just a blanket no, not on your nelly, feck off type reaction.

debka - can't scroll back but think you mentioned tantrums, Anna likes to turn her back on you and lie her head in her hands on the sofa and sob "No, No" she has the sack cloth and ashes on order Grin

Off to catch up some more and upload some photos - go on you know you love me really Grin

Grannyapple · 20/08/2012 11:50

Hello there ladies...long time no speak Grin

Not been up to much...except trying to sleep! N has turned into the incredible non sleeping baby at night...think we've had 1 night over the past 2.5wks where he has slept through with no wakings. The last 2 nights have obviously been heat related, but feck knows what has been going on with him apart from that. His sore teeth came through a few weeks back...hmmm.

I now have the week off work (yay), but have still put N into nursery (feeling a wee bit guilty about it), but as it's paid in advance & I'm shattered, well decided just to go with it. Have been for a run, washed the windows, had the shopping delivered so far this morning...now need to finish the big tidy up & think about gutting the place a bit. Feeling as if we're beginning to outgrow this place a bit, & now that we're thinking of another, moving is on my mind. DH however did say that he felt that moving would be more stressful than having another...but I'm kinda beginning to get his point...

blizy woo hoo to honeymoon...well jel Grin. How are you now that schools are all back - back into full flow?

onmehols welcome back..we missed you! Now for some annoying stories re: PILs please Grin.

wiggs glad you had a fab holiday - love S & O's description of it. I'm trying to talk DH into booking something up for next year...so far, the charms aren't working...yet!

Have uploaded a new pic of N from the wedding in July - is only pic with all 3 of us smiling (v rare!). Off to have a nosey at wiggs pics!

debka · 20/08/2012 12:45

HIYA!!! Grin

grannyapple I would totally have done the same thing with nursery- except there would have been more MNing and reading going on and less cleaning of windows! Lovely photo of you all :)

wiggles good to hear from you, glad you had a good holiday, am a bit jealous. Imy is DESPERATE to have a go on a horse, I won't tell her about Sofia (Sophia?). I loved your photos, what happy girlies :)

I must say Anna's tantrums are pretty tame compared to Bean Shock, she starts screaming then tries to bite something, generally the sofa but occasionally my leg Hmm and yesterday she decided to bite her own hand Grin. Then she throws herself on the floor, preferably along with the bitten object of choice. Then I tickle her and she gets over herself pretty quick!

Had a busy weekend, went to the Rare Breeds Centre (glorified farm) on Sat with my dad and the girls (obvs), was very nice but bloody hot. Then yesterday we went with DH to a Food Festival in Goudhurst which was ok, but really poorly attended. DH was trying to recruit exhibitors and they were all moaning about it. I didn't care, I had a 24hour smoked pulled pork roll with stuffing and apple sauce, plus freeby tasters of everything I could lay my hands on, and got to watch Jean Claude or something Novelli do a bit of light cooking.

Hope all well with everyone, it's getting quiet around these parts....

americanexpat · 20/08/2012 15:13

granny - I would do the same thing with nursery, especially if you have things to do or are knackered. L is going to nursery Monday and Tuesday next week while we're having the movers in and cleaning.

wiggles - glad your holiday was agreeable. Grin L does a really sad "nooo, nooo" when he doesn't want to do something and it breaks my heart he knows how to play me. I can't believe how much O and A look alike in the photos. Shock

It's my last week of work and I'm not getting much work done. Movers are coming next Monday then we're away on Wednesday. Shock I'm getting panicky thinking about it.

wigglesrock · 20/08/2012 20:29

americanexpat can't believe how quickly the move is coming up Shock, did you get stuff thrown out? Grin I know - we have photos from a holiday we went on when Olivia was the same age as Anna and you can't tell them apart Shock - just the eyes!

grannyapple thats a lovely photo - you all look very glam Grin I wouldn't worry about keeping N in nursery, I do things like that all the time!

debka how's work going?

We were all in the car today and Olivia out of the blue asked me "why did that man kill the little girl?" I think she meant Tia Sharpe Sad She said she saw something on the news, I'm not sure I handled it right, it really knocked the wind out of me. Her throat is bad again and strange as it may sound - her moods and emotions are always affected first. So am hoping to get an emergency GP appt in the morning and that she doesn't have too bad a night.

reastie · 21/08/2012 07:39

wiggles I'm not sure I would have known how to handle that either when put on the spot suddenly. Poor Os throat again - is there anything long term they can do to stop it happening all the time (like tonsils out) [clueless] . Btw loved the piccies, they all looked like they were having a fabulous time.

granny don't blame you re: nursery. A friend of mine is actually putting her DD regularly one morning a week to nursery just to give herself some time for herself Envy

american it's all coming around so quickly now the move isn't it

deb was the rare breeds centre the one near Ashford? Have been wondering about going there one day but not sure if it's worth the money. Grin to jean whatsit novelli

Thank you for all your nice weight loss comments. Put on a dress yesterday and it was actually a little loose - last time I wore it for work in July it was a little tight Shock

Well, we are at our wits end with Alices sleeping patterns. Are going to try putting her in a big bed tonight - we have a bed all ready for her and I'm off to buy bed guards this morning. see thread in sleep and please offer any thoughts or advice you have as I feel a bit clueless about this but want to start a fresh routine in the new bed

blizy · 21/08/2012 08:08

Wiggles I was Grin at Ibiza with better chips! Fab photos as always. I hope O is ok?

Granny- nothing wrong with putting N is nursery. I have parents who don't his with me and it's not a problem.

American- wow, you are moving so soon!

Reastie- well done with the weight loss.

I'm not so good here at the min, I had my phone consultation and apparently there is no counselling services in my pct that will suit. I was given a number and website of a charity to contact for counselling, I had a look on the site and they specialise in abortion and unplanned pregnancy counselling! I was so angry and upset, I just feel so let down. It had taken me a hell of a lot of courage to admit that I need help.Sad

OP posts:
reastie · 21/08/2012 08:17

Gosh blizy no suitable service????!!!!!!! Shock Shock . Is it worth ringing that charity as it might be that they also specialise in things more suited to you it's just they don't advertise it as much/make it obvious? You've got nothing to lose from asking if you can manage it. It's just awful that you finally build up the strength to talk to someone about needing help and they just fob you off. There must be another charity out there that can help you - would you go back to your GP? They often know about things locally and where to go for help if NHS can't offer a service. It is just ridiculous though, feel Angry on your behalf

reastie · 21/08/2012 08:22

blizy would sands helpline 020 7436 5881 or this charity www.tcf.org.uk/ help? This one is I think based in Glasgow

americanexpat · 21/08/2012 08:29

wiggles - not sure how I would've handled O's question either, sometimes I struggle to understand why things like that happen. Yes, I have been binning a lot. Grin DH convinced me that it's not worth our mental health to try to sell anything under £30 or so, otherwise to the charity shop it goes. I did sell our fancy pants espresso machine and grinder for £350 (plus P&P) on eBay. Shock

reastie - not much advice with the sleep, sorry. Could your DH offer her a cup of water/milk when she wakes in the night?

L has developed a rash on his chest, very small bumps from about his nipples to his belly button. It started yesterday morning then was much worse when I collected him from nursery. Any idea what it could be? I'm wondering if I should get him a GP appt, it'll probably take ages though.

blizy · 21/08/2012 08:36

American- maybe a prickly heat/ sweat rash? If in doubt gp is the way to go.

Thanks for that reastie, i will have a look later. SANDS only offer group sessions. I have had enough of phoning people and explaining my situation, it is very tiring emotionally.

I have no advice about A's sleep habits I'm afraid, i hope the big bed does the trick.

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 21/08/2012 08:46

blizy what the feck - I am raging and upset on your behalf. I know how difficult it is to make the "first" phonecall. Is it worth posting on NetMums or Mumsnet local boards to see if anyone can recommend any local groups? xx

American sounds a bit heat rashy to me - Olivia got lots of heat rashes at this age around that area - torso etc, but if you're not sure ring GP.

reastie Its near on impossible to ask to get tonsils out now, the GP told me to create a real fuss if she had another outbreak and to be really mouthy and demand an ENT appt etc and that she would back me up but that at the minute there was feck all chance of getting a referral. To which I replied "me - mouthy and lippy - surely not Grin" Off to nosy at your thread!

americanexpat · 21/08/2012 08:55

blizy - xposted - Shock at no suitable services, surely they must be able to do SOMETHING? Can your DH do the phoning around/making a fuss for you? It's so difficult to ask for help with depression, can't believe they've let you down. Sad Can you see the GP again for anti-d's? Maybe she can kick up a fuss as well.

wiggles - lippy? you? Surely not. Grin

MizK · 21/08/2012 15:12

Hey blizy I am really sad to hear that. You were extremely strong to admit you need some counselling, surely you are not the only woman in a similar situation in your area? Its pathetic to fob you off like that. can Cruse help? Failing that maybe a private therapist, I know you should not have to fund this yourself and it makes me mad that you may have to. Lots of love to you and don't give up, you are doing extremely well and once you are over this obstacle life will be better x
expat sounds like heat rash to me also, GP is probably a good option if you are worried though... I find its a fabulous cure on the rare occasions I fret about my DCs being ill - take them to the doc and they will be instantly symptom free and leave me feeling like an overreacting tit.
reastie So happy for you re weight loss, you are doing brilliantly!
wiggles I love your latest photos, the girls are edible they are so cute! anna has a completely cheeky face, she looks like trouble (in a good way of course!) with that little sparkle in her eye :)
V tired this afternoon, spent a few hours at Rufford Abbey park today with DCs and their cousin... rashly left Cass's pushchair behind in favour of her pushing Teddy in her dolly pushchair. By the end I was carrying her, Teddy and buggy! She had a fabulous time though, give that girl the freedom to run wild and she's in heaven :) Enjoying a quick skive while rastamouse entertains Cass and the older ones play on Mariokart...I feel sure my Mother of the Year title is secure again for 2012!

MizK · 21/08/2012 15:14

ooh PS hi granny nice to hear from you! You all look lovely in your pics :)

wigglesrock · 21/08/2012 15:27

MizK I may beat you to that title - The Lion King is on here and I've cracked open the Poundland Haribo Grin. I've also closed the blinds to stop the sun bouncing in and glaring off the tv Blush

Emski76 · 21/08/2012 19:48

Hi all
Wiggles, glad you hols were good, Ibiza with better chips sounds great to me!

Granny,hi, good yo hear all is well with you, despite N and his lack of sleep. Oh and I quite often have Weds off work as both boys are at nursery. All mums need a break sometimes!

Expat, moving day seems to have come so quickly! Noah gets a heat rash quite often, it sounds like L's. Has the rash calmed down now?

Blizy, my darling, I could scream for you! I am so angry for you. I cannot believe they cannot provide you with help. I can only echo the advice of the others. Please keep coming on here to talk to us, we are always here for you.

MizK, you def do not sound like a a sciver after your busy day. TV is every mums best friend!!

All is well here at the moment, work busy, boys busy.

Reastie, I'm off to read your thread now

blizy · 22/08/2012 12:43

reastie How did Alice go last night in her big bed?

ponyo How are you doing? Can ask how are things with the CRUSE counselling? I am thinking about giving them a call.

AF just arrived Sad.

I have a heb weekend on fri, I can't be bothered with it! Staying in a big lodge outside Edinburgh Fri/Sat night with entertainment (its a secret) on the Sat. My heart is just not in it at the moment. I prob will go, as I have already paid quite a lot of money for it.

OP posts:
reastie · 22/08/2012 12:50

blizy I'm sorry but what on earth is a heb week end? I'm not sure if it's some cool trendy thing I obviously am too out of touch to know about or a typo! Can you sell the tickets to anyone? Boo to AF arriving - just what you need at the minute Sad

Alice was OK in her bed last night thanks. Had stories with DH then I bf her to sleep in there. She slept till about 5am then woke up and either fell out or got out of the bed. DH found her sitting on the floor next to the bed looking a bit Confused . She didn't really settle back after that but for a first night in a completely different bed it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. She is so excited to have a big bed though!

wiggles Grin to lippy commeny
