I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread? Lets hope it's a lucky one for me.

Blizy! Nice to 'see' you, hope you're ok. So it's ok to leave it on stand by for ages then? I love it too Ahh Smile

wigglesrock · 12/08/2012 07:37

I lost my t'internet last night but yes I always forget to turn mine off properly, the charge lasts for ages. I have a night light for mine which I love and I also check out the 99p books Grin Enjoy!!

Again I bid my farewells its just started to rain miss ya, wouldn't want to kiss ya

americanexpat · 12/08/2012 22:19

Another Kindle user here, love mine. Grin I love that I can keep it in my handbag and always have something to read.

Ponyo - I hope you're enjoying your weekend, I'm sure A is fine.

We went to a work bbq this afternoon, L kicked off after about 90 mins so DH took him home and I hit the wine. Grin It was the farewell party for me and another colleague who is leaving this week. I'm bloody knackered, especially after taking L to the play park at 8am to burn off some energy, where he learned to go up and down the slide on his own, repeatedly. I'm still PFB and stand at the bottom of the ladder in case he falls. Grin

I started sobbing in the car at Ed Sheeran's "Small Bump" Blush then was stupid and watched the video on YouTube and sobbed some more. Blush AF is due any day but good lord. Hmm

americanexpat · 13/08/2012 12:11

blizy - I meant to say it's wonderful that you worked up the courage to see the GP and that you're getting help now. I don't know how anyone could NOT be depressed considering what you've gone through. Don't be afraid to try the anti-d's, they won't be a magic fix but they can help along with counselling. We're all standing behind you. Xx

archareastie · 13/08/2012 12:38

Hello all,

wiggles hope you're enjoying your holiday

Envy of all this kindle talk, I'm old skool and just have ye olde paper books Wink

american glad you got to hit the wine!

ponyo how did DH cope overnight with Anya? Is she back yet?

Went to GP this morning re: Alices dodgy feet. She started off saying they don't refer to physios for under 2's and just to wait until then but then as soon as she saw her walk she changed her mind to write a letter to the physio to see if they would see her or if she should wait Confused . Off to another GP surgery this afternoon for her chicken pox booster - what fun to wait in a surgery waiting room twice in one day Hmm

Oh yes, can I ask an odd question - look away if eating! DH and I have been a bit worried Alice is constipated/her poos are too hard for many months but we don't know what the norm is. She quite often has a number of pellets as poo, but it will sometimes be a bit more, erm, one big mass IYKWIM. But usually it's a bit rabbit poo-ish. She's really bad at eating veg but does eat fruit. We've tried varying her diet/giving her different foods to help this but it never makes that much difference. She very rarely actually seems in pain or real discomfort with it, but she sometimes looks like she has to strain quite hard and it might take a few goes. Apologies for this subject matter but figure this is the best place to ask and I'll be least embarrassed just to check that we are normal (or not)!

Emski76 · 13/08/2012 12:54

Hi all
Reastie, re poo. I would say just doing little rabbit dropping poo's may m,ean Alice is a little constipated. Noah is always quite soft and we never know when he's 'going' as they seem to come quite easily! Maybe more fruit and veg, less bread etc, just like we would as adults.
Glad the docotr took notice of Alice's feet, tho I know you'll probably be more worried now, as I know i would be.

Hope Wiggles has a good holiday.

Blizy, glad you saw the doctor. Take the ad's if you think they'll help. I never wanted to resort to pills but they have helped me so much.

Onmehols, glad you had a good break.

I too am a Kindle owner, but i have to admit i still love my paper books. Nothing like the smell and feel of a lovely book!!

Well, we have been busy as usual. Boys are fighting over toys constantly, and Ben seems to full of energy ALL THE TIME!! I'm hoping it will stop soon as I'm finding it exhausting!!

Emski76 · 13/08/2012 12:54

Oh, and did anyone see the thread and the name Ben? i had to stop myself from sending the op a very snotty message!!

ILovePonyo · 13/08/2012 21:37

Hello all, dp and A are away tonight as well Shock They are coming home tomorrow. I can't wait! Although I think I am getting ill, its like when you are off work and always get ill as soon as you get a chance to relax Hmm yuk.

emski link the thread please?! Agree with you about paper books. I'm too scared to take my kindle out in my bag as I don't have a cover for it, think that'll be on my birthday list next month!

reastie A's poos are usually the same as you describe actually, I do try and give her more fruit and veg and water but she just won't eat or drink it if she doesn't want to. A doesn't seem in pain either when she goes but I do worry a bit about it too. Let me know if you decide to do anything about it like docs? Oh and dp coped ok overnight but A slept better too!

american I am always hovering at the bottom of the slide too. I'm not ashamed of that either! I have blubbed at small bump too, aww :(

HOpe wigs is enjoying her hols.

I have work tomorrow and am so not used to having the car (dp has it) I am walking everyhwere and my feet hurt Hmm Such big problems!

blizy · 13/08/2012 21:46

Thanks american and emski I am seriously thinking about taking the happy pills, I need something to help me sleep and to stop me feeling anxious/nervous all of the time. I have my counselling phone call on Friday, I will go back to my DR once I have the results from that.

reastie A does sound constipated, how about upping her water intake? Feed her some melon, and stay clear of bannanas. Im glad the dr is taking you seriously about her feet.

ponyo I bet you can't wait until A comes back, think of the huge hugs she will give you! Hope you are feeling ok?

emski I seen that thread, I love the name Ben! I think it is a good strong name.

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 13/08/2012 21:58

blizy I am expecting big hugs! I'm ok its just a bit weird - my house is very quiet at the mo! Thanks for advice re: bananas - A has one a day (oops). My advice fwiw is take the happy pills, my mate calls is vitamin P (prozac) and theres nothing wrong with that. As a fellow anxious person I can say that although you can get used to feeling anxiety it doesn't mean its ok, you'll really notice the difference when the anxious feeling has gone, and however you do it (meds/counselling/bit of both) is well worth it.

debka · 13/08/2012 22:19

blizy no advice except do what the experienced ones say :) mucho love as ever xxx

ponyo lucky you with another night off, your hug will be epic when she sees you!

reastie Imy was a bit like that, worse actually tbh. I used to give her prune juice mixed with water and that helped. She seems ok now. We have the opposite problem with my little dustbin Sabine Grin

My mum is having BOTH girls for the night on Weds so DH and I will have a meal out then a lie in the next morning- what's the betting I'll be awake at 6? Grin

Anyone else's LOs starting having tantrums yet? Bean's just starting, SO CUTE- she screams, tries to bite anyone/thing near her, then flings herself on the floor. It's hilarious, even Imogen laughs at her unless she's being bitten

reastie · 14/08/2012 07:58

Hi,

Well, finally got a provisional timetable for work. Feeling Confused about it as they have put me to come in for 3 mornings first thing, which means I need to work an extra hour and a half a week with no extra money for registration/assembly (I was lucky before as I never came in before second lesson so just came straight in for my lesson). It also means I'll need to leave too early to give Alice her morning milk feed so am going to have to think about how to cut that out Sad and also it means MILs time with Alice may over double in length which I'm probably most Confused about as you know how much trouble I have with the arrangement in any case. Also it's a really bad timetable for going to the gym which is super Sad - I'm hoping DM will be on the generous side with letting me spend extra time to go but I feel guilty about it as she does so much. That was a rant I know Blush

deb I love how everyone including me moans about tantrums yet you find a positive and find it cute - you really are a glass half full girl arn't you Wink . Btw how did work go at the week end? Enjoy your night off. FWIW now Alice is sleeping in a bit I still always wake up really early

ponyo hope you're not getting ill and it's just missing anya feeling odd

blizy have you actually got the meds yet? It's got to be worth a try I think.

Interesting re: poo feedback. She won't eat melon, or really most vegetables and lots of fruit . I've tried prunes in the past so might give them another go but they didn't work as well as I was expecting them to!

americanexpat · 14/08/2012 10:33

reastie - You don't have to stop bfing in the morning completely, right? Just on the mornings when you have to work? I'd just go for it personally, get her up one morning when you're not working and give her breakfast straight away and see how she reacts.

debka - L is a seasoned tantruming professional now. Grin I can't help laughing at the absolute drama of it then I feel guilty. Blush He kicked off at the BBQ Sunday because he was opening and closing a door repeatedly and someone had the audacity to want to go out. Hmm

Ponyo - I bought a cheapy Kindle cover off eBay for £6 or so, I refused to pay £30 for a fancy one on Amazon. I hope you're not getting ill!

americanexpat · 15/08/2012 10:35

[tumbleweed]

PrincessOfChina · 15/08/2012 10:43

Hello.....

A big bar of chocolate if you can guess who I am!

At home with a spotty baby so I have time to catch up with Mumsnet. Looks like you're all doing well and the babies are growing up beautifully. They're so much fun now!

ILovePonyo · 15/08/2012 10:54

Hello all, I can guess who you are princessofchina as I am super good at getting clues plus I've been on facebook this morning too Hope poor R gets better soon, we havn't had the dreaded pox yet... How's she doing?

american Grin at the tumbleweed, made me laugh for some reason. dp is getting me a kindle cover, I want one with a light in that isn't black. Hope thats not too much to ask!

reastie A really likes prunes, I'm going to buy her some today I think. Sorry to hear about the timetable, thats a real shame :( Hope you work something out

deb woop tonight is your night off! Enjoy, I hope you get a lie in but wouldn't be surprised if you're awake early. A is in nursery today so we are off into town for some nice food later, might go to the jamie oliver restaurant.

So, my baby is home! She was very happy to see me, I loved it, lots of hugs and laughing. I know understand what it must be like for family and friends when they don't see her for a week or 2, then comment on how shes changed when they see her next, it has only been 4 days but she seems more grown up! She is also calling me "mummy" now not mama, aw. She went to bed at 8 last night and looked abit surprised at being back in her cot but did snuggle down (which made me think of Dill Grin) then slept until 8.30 this morning Shock

We packed her off to nursery today which I felt a bit mean about but I'm sure she'll like it. Hope everyone is having a nice day so far

americanexpat · 15/08/2012 10:56

It's choco! [flexes stalker muscles] Grin

reastie · 15/08/2012 11:26

princessofchina now please tell us all about your olympic adventure and how/why you managed to go to so many fun things there - was it a cadburys thing?

ponyo so glad everything was OK with Anya and you this week end.

PrincessOfChina · 15/08/2012 11:40

Hello,

I figured you'd work it out you bunch of FB stalkers!

Chicken pox is ok so far, she's spotty but only a couple are at the itching stage. I've just put some virasoothe on her and might try a bicarbonate bath in a bit which is supposed to help. She's literally the last one at nursery to get it, it's been going round for months. I'm grateful she waited until after the Olympics and before a couple of weddings we have lined up to be honest! If you could pick a convenient time this would be it!

Olympics was fab, my team were working on the Cadbury programme so I was down there lots. Mainly in our hospitality hotel doing PR for my department but I did gets to go to the Gymnastics team final which was ace. We have tickets for the Paras so will be taking R then, and immediately afterwards I volunteer through work to sell chocolate so that should be fun!

I do keep up with those of you on FB via there but just can't keep up with the thread at work. Plus I think MN has gone a bit weird...must be the summer hols!

Right, better go and sort spotty's lunch and then I'm hoping she'll go for a nap while I do a bit of work and wait for the Ocado man

americanexpat · 15/08/2012 11:51

PC - I don't think we're friends on FB but I have sent you a request. [suddenly insecure about friend-worthiness]

Ponyo - aww at A, I love those excited hugs.

reastie - I meant to comment on your step class last week. I didn't know until a few months ago that there is regular step and "body step" which is what my classes are. Very intense but I usually start with the level 3 moves and work my way down throughout the class. Grin I find regular step v boring now.

Four4me · 15/08/2012 14:26

Hello ladies!! Sorry I have been AWOL, we had a super holiday at the end of july and I have been busy with the boys on school holidays.

I promise to catch up properly when sept comes. I have won tickets to the paralympic athletics on 3rd sept so am having a child free day with two girlie friends. Will be grateful for it after six weeks of full time four children.

All good here, Archie is still very chilled and saying a few words now. He still calls me 'Dardeeey' in fact he calls everyone daddy!!!

Will catch up properly, but big hugs to the lovely blizy have been thinking of you often especially with the news about Poppy Barlow Sad massive 44me gang squeeze. Xxxx

onmehols · 15/08/2012 22:30

44me wowee tickets to paralympics, that'll be fun :)

Had my night off last night and lie in this morning, it was heaven. Girls did really well at my mums which was good. Off to Maidstone now Hmm, have good days all xxx

MizK · 17/08/2012 11:41

blizy wow to Vegas, you will have a fab time... don't get hooked on slot machines or run off with an Elvis impersonator willya? :)
princesschoco welcome back doll! I too have been keeping up with you via FB, hope R gets rid of her pox soon. Loved your Olympic updates also!
onmehols love to hoarse little D, not watching celeb BB but agree re Julian Clary, he's one of my camp icons (along with Bette Midler, Boy George, Elizabeth Taylor etc etc!)
four4 glad you've been enjoying the hols, you will def have earned your day off at paralympics I think :)
debka Glamorous Maidstone eh, check you out :) I bet you appreciated that lie in today.
ponyo have a nice day with DP, don't feel bad about nursery cos I'm sure A is having a great time, its a bit grey out so she's better off indoors bossing her friends about than schlepping around town! Clever thing saying mummy - Cass is so not talking much! I try not to compare her to other babies but she seems to have put all her energy into achieving her huge size rather than learning to speak :)
Big hello to everyone else, hope wiggles is enjoying her jollies :)
Off to take DCs to my mums then going to slather myself in fake tan, am roughly the colour (and texture) of cottage cheese atm, so it will be a vast improvement! have lovely Fridays everyone xxxx
