I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread? Lets hope it's a lucky one for me.

Hi all

ems yuck to wee scented bag. Just as well your handbag was washable Hmm

blizy I don't think that sounds ridiculous at all. I have a number of stories about strange things that have happened in my lifetime and also we once stayed in a scary haunted house on holiday (long story!) - I keep an open mind that chances are there's alot more to things than we realise or know about. Btw may have to check out friends with benefits. Thing is, DH and I have very different taste in films so that was a happy medium we could both tolerate, and, given I haven't really seen any new releases since Alice was born I'm quite easily pleased Grin . Am desperate to see woman in black having been scared enough by the book, but DH has refused to watch it with me as he says it looks too scary Grin

ledkr how annoying re: colleague. I remember you organising that day when in early pg and the stress and bleeding it caused. She's winning no friends there is she.

deb glad C is out of SCBU but massive boo to you not being able to see her.

Went to see a friend who is 10 weeks pg today (and really struggling bless her) then popped into tk maxx on the way home for a lampshade only Alice had a big tantrum so had to leave without said lampshade Angry . I picked her up and walked out of the shop with her screaming blue murder and me holding my head high getting knowing glances from other mothers Grin

American when is move date? Hope you won't forget about us once you move

Gtg - she's eating dried apple pieces out of a bowl on the floor like an animal Shock

MizK · 16/07/2012 17:33

Hey girls, sneaking 5 mins on the laptop with a cup of tea whilst Joe and Cass trash the living room....
debka just caught up on the news re your sister and niece - how scary for you all. Poor little Chloe has had a dramatic start to life but hopefully now she's out of SCBU she will be right as rain. Its such a shame you haven't been able to meet her, hope you can soon x
blizy imagine if it was a sign from Zoe? maybe she knows you've been having a bit of a rough time x
reastie well done for keeping calm and removing the tantrumming child from the scene! BTW thank you for being so sweet about the pic, you have put me in a good mood :)
american awww to saying turtle! Gosh all these genius babies on this thread with their advanced talking!
Speaking of, was v nice to see Anya and ponyo the other day, A is just so cute she's practically edible with her cute little bunches! Wish we all lived so near to one another, its nice to have one of the MN ladies so close by :)
ems massive bleurgh to cat wee on bag! Loved your Legoland pics on fb too!
ledkr is your annoying colleague really in the right profession given that she sounds like a complete self involved arse?
Big helloes all round to everyone else, have read everything but forget when it comes time to post! Things all good here, had a really good weekend. Hung out with my sisters and my best friend on Friday night - we got so drunk and giggly that we decided to switch all the lights off downstairs and bombard our boyfriends (who were sitting nicely playing Playstation) with missiles including satsumas and Babybels. The less amused they were, the more hilarious it seemed to us - its pretty shameful at 30 to be so immature but it was good fun :)

debka · 16/07/2012 19:25

mizk I know it would be great if we all lived closer, too damn far away.

reastie Oh how I love tantrums, such fun! Shame you didn't get the lampshade though, I often make purchases with a child hanging on each leg sobbing Grin

emski that's gross re cat pee, glad it can go in the washing machine!

Good to hear from you ledkr, glad D is sleeping a bit longer. S is on 1 sleep a day now too and is going a bit longer in the morning too.

Am gutted- was meant to visit Chloe this morning but have come down with the bloody lurgy, think it's what Imy had. Feel totally rotten, headache, sore throat and sinuses, the works. Didn't want to risk either my sis or Chloe getting it. Saw a pic of my other sister holding C instead Envy Angry Envy omg she is so lovely! All bloods that have come back have been fine, so things are looking up. Massive thanks and Thanks for your support everyone.

wigglesrock · 16/07/2012 19:44

debka thats great news about Chloe, not about you being ill but that her bloods are fine Grin. Take care of yourself xx

blizy of course Zoe could be checking on her Mammy, she's yours and you're hers.

ledkr I remember that day when you were pregnant - hard to believe its two years ago Shock

Against all the odds the weather has been great here the past few days, so have had the girls up at the beach, out for trips etc. Mr W worked for 8 days on the trot but from today is off for a week [yay].

My friends have rented a house up the coast so we went there for the day today, it was lovely, went to a big adventure playground set on a farm with real life llamas Grin. Anna was very excited.

She has spent the past few days shouting the words poo and wee loudly and laughing hysterically to herself Blush, I think she's showing true genius qualities Blush

Emski76 · 16/07/2012 20:31

Well, you'll all be glad to know the wee covered bags have been washed ad are drying in the airing cupboard! Tink is still lovely tho, she's kept me company while I've been ironing (dh is working on his laptop in the kitchen again), and Ben loved her, tho he did ask if she will die and get 'rolled over' by a car!

Deb, good news re Chloe, shame you didn't get to visit her. Hope you feel better soon.

MizK, hello you drunken fool! Sounds like you are your usual chirpy self!

Wiggles, good to hear someone is getting some sunshine! We had a nice sunny day yesterday but it's rained ALL day today! I want summer and I want it now (stamps feet).

Noah points at Tinks toilet box and says 'poo poo'. He's just gorgeous at the moment, likes to make us laugh and repeats everything we say! Just lovely.

Hope your all ok x

blizy · 16/07/2012 21:02

Emski- yikes to the bag incident! Alfie went through a phase of peeing in the washing basket full of clean clothes.Angry
Sorry, but I laughed at Ben's comment about the cat being rolled over by a car.Blush

Wiggles- glad you have had a nice few days. Yay to Mr W being off! Grin at Anna.

Reastie- oops to A's tantrum!

Mizk- your night on the cocktails sounds fab!Grin at the flying babybells.

Reastie/Ponyo - LOVE the videos on fb, your girls are soooo cute!

Hope you all have a good night.

OP posts:
americanexpat · 17/07/2012 12:04

reastie - Of course I won't forget you all. Shock You can't get rid of me that easily. Grin It's a bit bittersweet, I do consider L to be part Scottish - he can say "och" perfectly. Grin Love the video of Alice dancing, she is gorgeous.

deb - I hope you get to visit your sis and Chloe soon. How's your sister coping?

wiggles Grin at Anna. L repeats every thing as well, DH heard him say 'WHAT are you doing?' this morning. Blush

It's taken me hours to write this already...

ILovePonyo · 18/07/2012 08:39

Hi all just doing a quick post from work, am tired as A started in the next room up at nursery and loves it, but seems to think 5.15 is a good time to wake up, I think it's because she just wants to get to play with her big friends!
She also has v v gunky eyes at the moment, it's gross, nursery aren't at all concerned Confused even tho they said it might be conjunctivitis Confused Confused so we just keep cleaning green goo out of her eyes. Yuk. I'll take her to the doctor if it gets worse but it's not bothering her - does that seem the right thing to do?

Hope everyone is ok and deb hope you're feeling better. Have you had a cuddle with C yet? X x

americanexpat · 18/07/2012 09:01

Where is everyone? Confused

Ponyo - when L had that, the nursery told me to speak to the chemist who would give him some drops and avoid a trip to the GP. Not sure if it's the same down south? Also, mix some salt water and wipe her eyes with a clean bit of cotton wool for every swipe. God, I sound like a conjunctivitis expert, don't I? Hmm

ILovePonyo · 18/07/2012 10:42

Ooh ta American! It must be different down here, I went to the chemist but they can't give her anything because she's under 2, so if I wanted drops if have to take her to the docs. I didn't know if I was being a neglectful parent not taking her to dp's but the nursery werent concerned so I I wasn't BlushHmm

It is quiet isn't it?!

americanexpat · 18/07/2012 12:34

I think it's only neglectful if her eye is massively oozing and you ignore it. Grin Try the salt water wipe first, it's what the nurse on NHS 24 recommended when L had it at 10 days old. She also recommended putting drops of breast milk in his eyes but I don't think you have a ready source of that. Grin

wigglesrock · 18/07/2012 12:50

ponyo Sofia had quite gunky eyes when she was the babies age - I also did the sterilised water with a bit of salt wipe based on my nanas expert advice. We're very lucky if you ring our surgery first thing, the Dr will ring you back within an hour fora chat, usually we would get an appt within a few hours especially for under 8s, but they will give some great advice, has been a godsend with Olivias 40 a day habit sore throats.

debka how's your sister and Chloe?

Mr W has taken S and O to the early bird cinema showing this moring Grin, so I am trying to stop A feeding Emma her ice-lolly - easier said that done A has the strength of an ox and the death grip of a ninja Shock

blizy · 18/07/2012 14:41

ponyo Hope A's eye is better soon.

Waves to american What date are you leaving?

wiggles Grin at Anna feeding Emma.

Just a quick one from me, been super busy with RL stuff for a change. Catch you all later. Oh, debka how are you feeling? Have you seen Chloe yet? Hope work is going well.

OP posts:
debka · 18/07/2012 20:39

Evening all,

I feel like utter utter death, I have tonsillitis and it is pure agony, can't swallow, everything hurts :( No wonder my poor Imy was so miserable last week.

We've all got conjunctivitis here too, ponyo, I'm toughing it out, DH is crying like a girl, been to the dr, putting drops in every 2 hours and intermittently saying he's going to the walk-in centre Hmm.

My sis and Chloe are home at last, hooray!! All seems well but her floppy neck is still being investigated. My sis has already texted me a couple of times with worries about sleeping and temperature etc [aaah bless]. Still can't visit, I bet I'm virurently infectious.

Little Bean fell of the sofa arm today onto her face, poor thing, blood everywhere from a cut on her lip, and red grazes from nose to chin. Imy never had the bumps and grazes Bean has, she's always been a much more cautious child.

Eh, guess what- SW last night, I lost 7lbs!!!! Half a stone!! Got my 7st award!! Then stealthpolarbear on here sent me some size 16 trousers which arrived today, and the feckers WENT ON!! My God, last year I was a size 26!!!

Hope all better than us here Grin

blizy · 18/07/2012 20:51

Debka/ that is bloody amazing, you should be so proud of yourself, I know I am! Booo to feeling so rotten, hope you feel better soon.
Poor Bean, it must have been a sore one. Cuts in the mouth always look much worse than they are. I'm glad Chloe is home safe and sound.

Another busy day here, we are de-cluttering dh's office/junk room. Who knew he had so much crap! I have just had a bath with my watcher, Alfie sits on the edge and plays with the bubblesGrin.

OP posts:
debka · 18/07/2012 20:56

Thanks blizy, I do feel proud :) Watching supersized vs superskinny atm and feeling rather smug Grin

Bath with Alfie sounds cute, so long as he doesn't fall in!!

wigglesrock · 18/07/2012 21:19

debka bloody brilliant sweetheart xxxxx Glad Chloe is home and Grin at your sister texting you. Feel better x

blizy when we had our cat donkeys ago, he used to watch me in the bath and lie on top of the tv and try and chase the ball when football was on - he was lovely, got "rolled over by a car" in the words of Emskis Ben Grin

Apparently Ice Age 4 is fantastic, girls loved it and Mr W wasn't too irritated by it Grin

Emski76 · 18/07/2012 21:27

Deb,bloody hell girl, what a huge weight loss! We're all so proud of you! Glad Chloe and your sister are home, what fantastic news! Poor you beng do poorly tho, and ouch to Beans accident.

Blizy/Wiggles, dh and I had a cat before Ben was born and the cat used to sit on the side of the bath and watch, bloody cat followed me everywhere. Tho Tink is quite a follower too it just doesn't like to be overcrowded, not easy with two litte boys around! Our first cat got 'rolled over', could be where Ben got the idea from!

Ooh, I'm hoping to take Ben to see Ice Age soon.he loves the first 3.

Right am off to bed, am hoping to take boys to the beach with my friend tomorrow,am hoping for a sunny day!

Four4me · 18/07/2012 21:43

Hi all!!

Boo to feeling so crap deb and massive congrats on the additional weight loss, you are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!! So glad to hear about Chloe, you must be so relieved.

Glad that everyone else is well, all good here. We go on holiday early Friday morning. Yippee. The boys are so exited and we have so much stuff to take.

Take care girlies and I'll 'see' you all when we return!!!!!!

ILovePonyo · 18/07/2012 22:19

Hi all, wow deb massive well done to you, size 16!!! Brill Smile just hope you all feel better soon, bring poorly sucks, especially as you have a cute niece to cuddle Wink

Blizy one of my bloody cats loves water and sitting on the side of the bath, nut bag Hmm I cleared out our kitchen cupboards earlier, very satisfying!

Four4 happy hols! Am jel, have a lovely time Smile

I would love to see ice age 4, can't wait til A is old enough to sit through films at the cinema.

I'm going to take her to the docs tomo, her yea aren't worse but not getting better either.
Earlier she kept trying to 'ride' the cats when we were in the garden, poor things they are very patient Grin

Night all am hoping for a bit of a lie in tomorrow, I'll let you know how early our start is.....

ILovePonyo · 18/07/2012 22:20

Typos! You know what I meant Hmm Blush

reastie · 19/07/2012 09:03

Morning all,

Alice was a nightmare yesterday despite me trying my best to fill the day with 'enriching' parenting activities (feeding the ducks, smelling the flowers at a nursery, going to the playground etc) but then yesterday evening she started with a runny nose and was up all night ill Sad which makes sense for the awful moaning yesterday. She's not right today at all and I'm feeling rough too - today is going to be a llloooonnnngggg day.

Re: Ice Age 4 - DH is a big fan of the ice age series Hmm so we will probably end out watching it at some point.

ponyo what did Doc say re: eyes?

four4 have a fabbo holiday

Argh, was going to write more but Alice won't stop whining Confused so gtg

reastie · 19/07/2012 09:07

oh, and exciting news at reastie towers - Alice has learnt this morning to wipe her nose with a hanky - very useful with her cold Grin . Iggle Piggle has also had his nose wiped by her too all morning a few times too Wink

americanexpat · 19/07/2012 09:30

deb - that's fab that your sister and Chloe are home, I remember those first nights thinking, "Oh shit, we're on our own." Grin And well done with the 7 st!! And poor Bean. Sad

44me - enjoy your hols!

blizy - my two cats love shower and bath time, I don't know what it is. One of them has sight problems I think, her depth perception isn't quite right so she keeps dipping her paw in the bath water to "find" it. Grin

I did another clear out of my wardrobe Saturday and it's almost empty now. Shock I still need to sort through my trousers and jeans but I think I have only 2-3 pairs that actually fit. Shock They should all fit in one suitcase at least.

americanexpat · 19/07/2012 10:09

reastie - xpost. Poor Alice. Sad I tried to teach L how to blow his nose at the weekend - he got the blowing part but not the tissue part.
