I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread? Lets hope it's a lucky one for me.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 12/07/2012 11:59

wiggles thanks for mil comment, so glad she's at home and think might take b over at the weekend for an hour to see her. Fil said he'd look after b for a couple of hours Shock and we tried to tell him tactfully that he wouldn't need to (he's NEVER changed a nappy, calmed a crying baby etc) and mil just told him straight that he had no idea Grin. Very nice offer though bless him! I had the help (book) for Christmas and haven't picked it up yet as didn't think I'd like it but might give it a go now! Poor DH, hope he has a quiet shift, will he get some decent time off after that? Hope so!

blizy my god woman, how do you manage to look after babies and children on such little sleep? Have you thought about getting any help with it? I know what you mean about sort of getting used to it but might be worth looking into some kind of help x

deb fingers crossed your sis is okay and things go well, if she does end up with a section do you think she'll be okay? I thank the heavens for epidurals every time I think of childbirth!

reastie b is another slide lover, he loves the big one at the little play park we go to and I have to stop myself from helping him too much as he gets cross with me Grin You're very brave with the playdough, I also like I can cook, especially the wash your hands song Wink, haven't been on the website yet though. How's your tum today? Are you going to prize giving ceremony?

My lovely mum has taken b out for the day to let me have a big clean and I have the radio on listening to Grown Up Things and quite enjoying blasting the flat and being able to have all windows and doors open. Expecting a call at any time to say he's not well and needs to come home as he's still not 100% but supplied her with calpol just in case.

wigglesrock · 12/07/2012 12:03

reastie Sofia and Olivia love "I can cook" - its a big novelty to them Grin Mr W also fancies Katie - seriously he lurves her.

Mr W has worked hours like that before especially if a crime scene needs to be kept closed, or if he's arrested someone close to his clocking off time etc. But its double time today because its a public holiday so if there's not too much trouble they'll not be keen on keeping them on. But Mr W is in the very unique position of growing up and living near the hotspots so they like to keep him handy incase anyone has to talk to the actual people involved Grin

debka fingers crossed and I'm very excited Blush

blizy sorry but I read you had a "wee" hour and was imagining a whole hour where you just weed Grin 2 weeks into the summer holidays and I've already sunk to a 5 year olds sense of humour Blush

NeedToSleepZZZ · 12/07/2012 12:11

at 'wee' hour comment

americanexpat · 12/07/2012 12:31

reastie - L is horrible with eating things. The nursery manager said he tries to eat all the craft projects and they had to dig googly eyes out of his mouth yesterday. Shock He did try to eat the playdough but pulled a face at the taste. He will try to eat almost anything, bits off the floor, etc. Hope your tum is feeling better. After my vomit bug a few months ago, it was 5 days before I was able to eat normally again.

deb - fingers crossed for your sister! Also, you've lost 6 bloody st woman! That's an incredible achievement, even if you have another 6 st to lose. Give yourself credit! Grin

Needto - I hope you get B's appt through quickly. Glad MIL is home, when's her op?

Ems - Hmm at your MIL. I think you've just got to keep setting boundries, treat her like a toddler. Grin It's good DH is on your side though. I think a MIL questioning our parenting would push anyone over the edge.

I have tried to cook with L, mixing dough in the Kitchenaid but he always tries to reach into the bowl when it's running. Hmm

Ooo, my Boden parcel just arrived! Grin

MizK · 12/07/2012 13:35

Hey all, enjoying the monster's nap time very much, I have to take her to Joe's school to watch a music performance soon and am totally dreading it :( lately she screams if she has to sit still at all or is told no... this morning DP told her to stop switching the television on and off so she broke into heartrending sobs and crawled on to me in bed, then kept screaming and hitting him if he spoke to her or touched either of us! Drama queen.
debka bet you have been so busy with training, are you looking forward to being back at work? I reckon that will help you get shot of the rest of the weight you want to lose, being a SAHM is death to the waistline IMO (unless you are rich WAG type who can afford nannies to mind babies whilst you work out :) ) I love that S says 'naughty!' so cute!
ponyo also loving tales of A's words, Cass only communicates in shrieks and pointing still, clever babies you guys have!
ledkr please don't let them join you on holiday. Surely if you are hitting a rough patch (which it sounds like you are but if I'm wrong sorry) you and DH need a proper break with just you and the DCs, so you can relax and enjoy the time as a family. Even if you adored your PILs it would be an intrusion on a v much needed holiday. It seems simple to me, why don't your PILs see that they are overstepping the mark? Hope you get it sorted x
reastie glad you are over your bug. Cass has taken against Katie and her cooking pals and will only watch Balamory, Show Me Show Me and ITNG in an endless loop. wiggles haha to Mr W fancying Katie - at least he can endure watching Cbeebies if he has a consoling bit of totty. All the men are gross, can't take a man in primary coloured jeans seriously I'm afraid.
blizy the no sleep sounds horrendous.... are you managing OK? Can your doc prescribe you anything?
expat enjoy your Boden goodies! I have never ever looked at their site, may have to have a nosey. Or will I be taunting myself with visions of beauteous clothes I can no longer afford? May stick with TopShop and New Look, classy bird that I am!
needto have a good old spring clean, I bet your flat will feel gorgeous when you're done, all clean and fresh!
Right, speaking of cleaning, must go and change sheets before Cass and I are treated to the sound of 60 small children playing ukelele to 60 different tunes at once.... :)

blizy · 12/07/2012 14:06

Needto- I'm glad mil is home, must be such a relief! Grin at fil with his offer to mind Ben. Hope you get the cleaning done.Wink

WigglesGrin even pg I can't pee for an hour!Grin

Mizk- enjoy the musical, hope Cass behaves.

Debka- hope everything is ok with your sister.

No point in going to the doctor, I don't want to take anything. I am terrified of taking drugs ( even paracetamol) incase they jeopardise a pregnancy. I know I am not pg at the min, but I don't want to take any risk at all. On that note it is swi time again, then the horrible 2ww......

OP posts:
americanexpat · 12/07/2012 14:23

blizy - did you get your test results?

MizK - I refuse to pay Boden prices but the sale is on so I treated myself. I usually shop on eBay!

L is saying a few words on but usually with prompting. He did say banana this morning when I offered him some. Well, more like "ah-nana" but close enough. Grin

ledkr · 12/07/2012 18:09

Hi all,I am really missing my net book its in for repair but with a friend so i cant really moan. I was thinking bad thoughts about buying an i pad today I deserve it dont ya know. Grin

Well needto I saw my gp today about various symptoms mostly tiredness and depression. He said I was just tired from the lack of sleep but did some blood tests anyway. I looked on the form and it said I was suffering from "malaise" I couldnt stop laughing. How was last night? I was up at 5am but on a positive note managed to catch up with Geordie Shore and Bedlam and order form the next directory all before breakfast haha.

Well it looks as if we wont be setting sail on Tuesday as Dillys passport may not be here till next Friday Hmm Not too bothered as we will have longer to pack and we can chill a bit at home.We are both working Monday so would have been a rush though.

As for pils they defo wont be coming,i will say No confidently if asked and should they turn up courtesy of dh being sly I shall be off to my brothers before flying back and changing the locks Grin I really am not worried at all as you said we need this break more than ever and dont need anal people obsessing about the next meal when im going all boho haha.

deb any news??
blizy fingers crossed have you tried herbal Nytol they are great even for this keen druggie
wiggs Dh is always being held up waitng for cps morons to make decisions,he also gets called to court on his days off. He complained so this holiday he has court the day before and the day after Hmm

debka · 12/07/2012 18:36

Just a quickie before I put the girls to bed-

Chloe Anabelle, 8lb14, born at 14.12 today by forceps (ouch!) Both doing well apparently!

Back tomorrow probably for proper catch up!

blizy · 12/07/2012 20:47

Huge congratulations Auntie Debka! Love the name Chloe, hope they are both doing good.

Ledkr- I might give the nytol a go, not holding out hope though. Just after Z died the dr gave me some diazepam, they didn't work!

I really hope the pils don't turn up.
Go on buy the IPad, you know you want to.Grin

Fil is on just now, we had dinner and I'm trying my best to hint at him to leave. I just got changed into my pj's with hope of scaring him away.

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 12/07/2012 21:52

Just a quick congrats to auntie Debka, hope they're both well. Love the name.

americanexpat · 13/07/2012 09:25

debka - congrats to your sister! A sympathetic ouch on the forceps - does she have a tear? I think that made the rough first weeks even worse, I couldn't sit without pain. Sad

wiggles - It sounds like Mr wiggles may have had an eventful night?

ledkr - Re the iPad, as my sister is fond of saying, if you don't treat yourself, you cheat yourself. Grin I hope your DH isn't stupid enough to invite the PILs.

I finally got a quote for shipping the cats back - £1200. [faint] We'll pay it because they're going no matter what and we can't find an airline that will take them directly, but £1200? Flights for the three of us will be less than that!

L was up at 5:20 this morning. Shock I managed to get him back to sleep within a half hour then slept on the bed in his room until DH woke us up at 7:45. It was grim being awake that early, I sympathise with everyone who does it on a regular basis.

blizy · 13/07/2012 10:50

American- £1200, i hope they are travelling first class and being served freshly caught salmon for that!

Wiggles- is Mr W ok? Just heard news.

OP posts:
americanexpat · 13/07/2012 11:57

blizy - They get an overnight stay in Frankfurt so they'll have time to do a bit of sightseeing. Grin At least they're handling the paperwork and customs hassle. And it's actually a bargain compared to what we paid to bring them here. Shock

reastie · 13/07/2012 14:19

american £1200?? Shock - you could just buy new cats you know Grin Wink . Btw how is the retro rose dress? I wore mine today and thought of you Grin

What's this of NI police news? Will have to google

blizy how's the weight loss going?

deb excellent news. Congrats your sister

Dparents and PIL are both on holiday so DH had to have the morning off to look after Alice so I could work. Looks like he spent the morning doing paperwork while Alice went feral round the house Hmm . He said it took him triple as long to get anything done with her around - you don't say Wink [unsympathetic]

Alice is so sweet - she sings along now to the 'na na' bit of the gigglebiz theme tune and that tales from africa cartoon thingy on cbeebies sings 'tinga tinga tinga tinga-aaaaaaaa' along to that (she does the aaaaaa bit with lots of gusto Grin )

k2 how are things with Mrk2 at the min now you had the week end away?

needto is Ben any better today? Envy of your spring clean - I need to do that so much so must stop mning

Well, that's it - I'm on summer hols from work officially for the next 6 or 7 weeks

wigglesrock · 13/07/2012 19:21

reastie yay for holidays Grin Anna likes the music from Tinga Tales as well, she won't actually watch anything but stops climbing on a dangerous surface whatever she's doing and has a little listen when its on.

americanexpat Having their own private jet are they? Grin I can't scoff I almost cancelled a very expensive holiday years ago when our cat was a little under the weather Blush

To be honest work was very quiet for Mr W last night, probably the quietest in a long time. Call that a riot Grin - I remember when roads were closed for weeks, shops ran out of food, people had to bake their own bread etc - obviously I was completely fecked then Grin

Weather absolutely gorgeous here Shock Took the girls into "big" town today, got fleeced in the Disney Store - bloody Muppets - actual ones not my children Grin, but then spent a few hours hanging about the City Hall, lying on the grass, having a picnic McDonalds and generally trying to stop A from chasing down the pigeons and charming some lovely Spanish backpackers - looks like she has inherited her mothers love of Spanish men Blush.

americanexpat · 13/07/2012 20:03

wiggles - I wish a private jet was only £1200 - no cattle class for us. Grin They'll be flying Lufthansa which we can't afford for us. Envy

reastie - I'm going to have to exchange the dress for a smaller size. Shock I ordered my usual size but it's swimming on me. Usually I have to order to fit my hips and get the top taken in, but I can pinch out at least an inch on the waist. It's been reduced another £14 so I've sent a cheeky email to ask for the difference.

DH has gone out for a walk and I should really get something done while he's away.

debka · 13/07/2012 20:13

reastie yay yay to holidays!!! Did you go last night?

wiggles you make me laugh every post! Glad MrW is ok, I also worried about you Blush

expat at cat cost. We took ours with us to Slovenia but left them there when we came back Blush

Bad news from my sis- they're worried about Chloe's super floppy neck and are keeping her in SCBU and doing scans/xrays/MRIs. They suspect a broken collarbone and/or possibly even a chromosome disorder- remember she tested high risk for Downs etc but saw a super duper specialist who put her mind to rest about it.

I am so worried and scared for my sister, I wish I could just go and hold her, but she says she doesn't want any visitors, not even my mum. I've texted her to say she must call if she needs anything at all, but honestly, it's horrible :( :( :(

blizy · 13/07/2012 20:34

Oh Debka, your poor sister. I really hope everything is ok with little Chloe. Sending my thoughts and lots of positive vibes. X

OP posts:
NeedToSleepZZZ · 13/07/2012 20:39

Deb, I am so sorry to hear about Chloe and your sis, fingers crossed its a result of the forceps that will fixed relatively easily. Feel for you not being able to give your sis a big hug but it's good that your family are respecting her wishes. Such a beautiful name btw Thanks

American, I have just come round from your news of the prices for your cats Shock I hope they enjoy their little adventure and all goes well though.

Wiggles, you ne'er fail to make me smile! Would love to hear about you baking bread Wink. Is mr w off for a bit now?

Reastie, it seems Tina tales is very popular here too, only the song though, b runs off after that [fickle child]. He's getting bored of ITNG now too, the only thing he'll watch properly is the lingo show .

Stealth, actually not even stealth boast alert! Ben knows his numbers Shock Shock Shock He stole a leaflet from the doctors the other day that had a phone number on it and I asked him where certain numbers were, don't know why, didn't expect anything, and he knew them! I almost fainted! It seems he's over whatever he had and is back to normal now. Up 5 times last night and up for good at half five We were meant to be going to a wedding tomorrow but I'm staying at home to make sure he has a proper nap, I really didn't think I'd have to be doing this at 17 months Hmm. How was D ledkr?

wigglesrock · 13/07/2012 20:40

debka much love to you all and lots to Chloe. I'll be honest I'd be very like your sister - I'm a coper, I can't have people round me if I'm scared shitless. I know how difficult it is for other people when I shut them out but she will know that you are thinking and praying for her. Here's hoping all your minds will be put at rest and you'll know more soon.

Don't you worry on your own but, we are here xxx

debka · 13/07/2012 20:45

Thanks everyone. She texted back to say she's going to try and get some rest. She must be absolutely shattered. I hope they've given her a private room.

needto blimey o'riley, he's a genius Shock, that's incredible!! I don't think Bean's that bright- she was feeding a baby alternately with a sellotape dispenser yesterday Grin

ILovePonyo · 13/07/2012 20:53

Hello ladies,

deb so sorry for your sister, sounds v scary. Any idea on timescale for tests etc? Congrats on becoming an Auntie btw, didn't say earlier, just hope little Chloe is alright xxx

american Shock at the cost for your CATS - what on earth!? I'd be tempted to leave mine behind for that cost (joking! sort of)

Needto wow at clever B- he clearly doesn't need sleep to develop his brain does he?! Now I may be jumping to gun a bit here but (and wiggles will back me up) I've seen on mn that clever babies/children can be nightmare sleepers when young. WIll tht help at 2am? Wink

wigs Grinat muppets, your day sounds lovely.

I have been reading but can't remember everything else sorry :)

Poor old A had a rough day yesterday, lots of crying and clingyness, then I had a feel of her gums and yikes, they were SO swollen, with a little tooth poking through on one side. Bought some calpol but worried I'd got the wrong one in case it made her hyper Grin luckily it didnt, phew.
Today she was a bit better, we saw the lovely Cass and MizK at messy play, the difference between A and Cass is amazing given that they are so close in age, Cass was running with no fear and is so tall! A toddled about a bit and washed her hands about 10 times Confused

Anyone watching come dine with me? Its in Nottingham, not showing the east midlands in a very good light Hmm

americanexpat · 13/07/2012 20:54

debka - your poor sister, she must be horribly worried. Sad Hopefully it's "just" a broken collarbone and not something more serious.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 13/07/2012 21:17

Ledkr, did you read that? We have genius children!!!
Ha ha ponyo, I don't think he's that clever, he still thinks spinning round until he falls over is the best thing ever! poor A with her teeth, hope the calpol can give you all a peaceful night. You've just reminded me about Come Dine, I love it! They have been filming it in hastings recently, i dread to think what that will be like Shock. Now have it on 4+1. Hope MizK is okay, how lovely that you get to meet up like that, need more pics of the two of them together please! Smile

Deb, thinking of you and your family. Bless bean, I think that's very creative btw Grin

AF is due imminently and feeling really nauseated and bloated tonight, nearly lost it earlier with OH when he complained about being tired as I was washing up after cooking dinner and doing the gardening whilst he fell asleep in front of the telly, grrr. I hate PND!
