Reastie, sometimes Noah cries and clings to me hen I leave him with mil on a Tuesday and sometimes he doesn't. Occasionally he gets uptight from the moment she arrives cos he knows I'm going to leave soon.
I think as long Alice calms down after you've gone then not to worry. Big hugs tho cos it's horrible isn't it?

reastie · 27/06/2012 18:40

It's awful ems - last week my legs were actually shaking as I left the house I could still hear her scream when I had walked 5 doors down the road Shock . She's got to the point of screaming the second she sees MIL every week now - massive tears down face and desperate look in her eyes Sad . I know it's nothing but it is upsetting Sad . MIL always contradicts herself in how Alice was etc anyway so I have no idea how the morning goes, other than I think she must like the class they go to and she doesn't scream the whole morning. I would start trying different tactics and maybe a longer crossover but there's only one more week till summer hols (woohoo)

wigglesrock · 27/06/2012 19:21

reastie Sofia definitely went through a stage of screaming when I left her at my Mums at about this age, my Mum happened to mention that A asked after me last week when she had her - lots of mournful "where my mammy?" with big eyes Grin To be honest I just drop and run, always have done - leave her in, sit for 5 mins or so, a firm "right Mummy is away to MN work now", quick kiss and see you later.

I washed As hair tonight, she had massive tears down her face, huge gulping sobs, screaming "No, No", she absolutely hates it - 10 mins later not a mention of it, back to her normal destructive cheery self. Its always worse for the person that is doing the leaving/nasty thing etc than anyone else.

Absolutely pissing it here, have had about 45 mins of the worst thunderstorms I can remember in a long time. Its funny S and O were upstairs playing and I would have put money on Sofia being panicky etc and coming down (we don't get many thunderstorms) but it was O who was a bit shaky. Sofia went over, closed the blinds and curtains and told Olivia to pull herself together Blush Grin

Mr W is awol again tonight, he didn't make it home until 1am the day he was due to be home at 2pm, and has been late all week - feckin' Queen Grin

ILovePonyo · 27/06/2012 21:10

Evening lovelies, god its warm isnt it. A's room is 26 degrees and I put her to bed in her grow bag, vest and 'jamas, yikes Shock

reastie A has been v settled at nursery for a while now but she still is clingy when I drop her off on a monday after shes not been there for a few days. I'd feel the same as you though, sorry that doesn't help does it. How is A after she's been with mil for 10 minutes or so? Do you worry about mil looking after her still?

wiggles Grin at feckin queen, thats a lot of overtime for poor MrW! Hope hes home by now.

MizK I'm not sure if you'd be able to get to messy play on Fri anyway?! Stupid torch. Hope you and J enjoy it though :) Yes to the piggy eating, I have done well the past few days then stuffed my face with crap today, I don't know why?!?! 10st 12 is great btw, well done.

blizy how you feeling? So sorry about things being so rubbish for you, lack of sleep doesn't help and I can clearly remember the frustration of ttc and it being so unfair when everyone seems to be getting pg excpet you. Its horrible, have a big hug from me

Borgio Hiya, Grin at N and the plastic chicken the funny boy. Oh I have those flushable toilet cleaner thingys thatI prefer to a toilet brush because they seem a bit gross Blush

What are peoples views on Cherry Healey?! I'm watching her programme on bbc3 now where she is doing helium balloons with a bunch of numpties Hmm I'm sure I used to like her but just find her very annoying now.

americanexpat · 28/06/2012 09:39

Warm?! Envy [dons winter coat]

reastie - L is never bothered when I leave him at nursery but he's very outgoing and sometimes doesn't want to leave in the evening. Do you think she senses your anxiety about MIL?

L has figured out how to open the outside doors. Shock He was on his way outside when I caught him the first time, now they're kept permanently locked.

ledkr · 28/06/2012 13:04

hi all,am posting at work cos my laptop has died and i hate sitting at the big pc.
Hope you are all ok ill post properly later hopefully.
Reastie has started to go mad when i leave even if she is with dh or dil.
She also cries if Ella leaves or I collect her from dil or take her form dh when she is with him.It just their age, they are now aware of peoples ability to leave but not yet fully aware that they could come back again.
Dills went through a great few days of 7am wake ups then today it was another 5.15 gutted.

D climbed on the table today she is driving me mental.

I was at A and E on Friday as she had jumped off the bed onto her head and yesterday she fell off the slide at toddlers,i didnt dare go to a and e or i think ss would have been checking up on me.

They are very tiring arent they? We have a playschool by us that takes them at 2 so needless to say her name is well and truly down for a few mornings Grin

ledkr · 28/06/2012 13:05

Ponyo-Cherry Healy is indeed a bit of a twat. Dont we normally hate all the same people eg Sarah Cox.Edith Simpering Bowman and Jo Simpering Whiley?

reastie · 28/06/2012 13:17

It's official - even ledkr thinks I'm going mad Wink Grin

ledkr I agree. Alice isn't shy with people, but if we go somewhere and she thinks I might be getting up to leave her she goes all clingy and pathetic. She's fine when I leave her with DH or DM when I work, but I've noticed every day when DH comes home from work she takes one look at him and runs to me moaning as she knows he'll take her so I can do the cooking Hmm . Pathetic moany is annoying but manic screaming fits with big crocodile tears is just plain heartbreaking though. Is D OK after all those falls?

american you can have some of our weather if you like - it's soooooooooo hot here - my car said 25 or some such and it's really sticky heat too, I'm just sitting here trying not to sweat too much Blush think I may get paddling pool out later. Btw Shock at Leo opening external doors. Hopefully it will take him some time yet to work out stairgates though Hmm

ponyo re: cherry. I really liked her when she did those pg/birth/bfing docus but then I watched another one of her progs (can't remember what it was about) and suddenly found her really annoying without knowing why really. I've not bothered with her new series.

Went to gymboree class this morning (the class where the freaky clown toy originates from) and Alice insisted on carrying her clown into the class. It was quite sweet as whenever the big clown that is the same only bigger came into the class as part of the songs she'd run and get her clown the play along Grin

blizy · 28/06/2012 14:11

ledkr Grin at poor reastie going mad when you leave her! Hope Dilly is ok?

reastie jelous of your weather, I had a coat on for the school run!

american wow at L opening doors! Whatever you do, don't keep the key in the lock (he will figure that out soon too).

Schools are finished today for the "summer", I have 3 mindees sat in front of the tv watching a film . I'm feeling awful today, I don't know if i have a bug or if it's because of af? It is mega, I am feeling very crampy and dizzy/sicky. Roll on home time, I can't wait to fall into bed!

OP posts:
debka · 28/06/2012 14:16

Howdy everyone!

reastie let's do it, I'm looking forward to meeting you and little A at last! Must be hard for you that she cries when you leave her. I leave S with my aunt and mum quite often (couple of times a week normally). She sometimes cries a little but normally they find her a toy and she's fine. She's much more laid back than Imogen ever was about that sort of thing.

Totally agree with whoever said about it's easier when you have more than one (mizk?)- mine play together a lot now which makes life a lot easier.

ledkr D certainly is very spirited, isn't she! Hope she's ok after her trip to a&e Shock

mizk don't be in too much awe, I have stalled a bit now, I've realised I need to address my binge eating, I still do it and feel so monumentally crap when I do. I hate it. I've got a book which has a sort of DIY CBT in it, hoping that will help.

blizy I'm always impressed at how little you moan on here, you must feel like crying, it's just not fair it's eluding you every bloody month :( As if you haven't been through enough.

Any other babies mad keen on animals? S sees some sheep on the pre school run and baas the whole journey. Yesterday she saw some cows and mooed all the way back. Made a change from the baaing I suppose. DH showed her what a wolf does so now she puts her head back and goes aROOOOOOO!!!! Current favourite is still the monkey though, she wears Sains nappies which have a moneky on the bottom, she gets all excited when I change her, does a little monkey dance and goes oo oo aa aa Grin

blizy · 28/06/2012 14:20

ha ha debka, you crossed post with me moaning again! Grin
hope the book helps you. S sounds sooo cute with her monkey dance.

OP posts:
americanexpat · 28/06/2012 14:37

deb - Aww, bless her, she sounds so cute. If you ask L where any part of his body is, he sticks his finger up his nose. Grin

ledkr - Shock at D. L is a bit of a daredevil with climbing, I'm surprised we haven't been to A&E yet.

reastie - 25?! It was v dreich earlier, it's a bit better now but still foggy and raining.

blizy - If he gets my keys, he tries putting a key in the lock. Shock Luckily he doesn't have the dexterity to get the key in. I hope you're feeling better soon, are you eating well? I find I feel rubbish if I eat rubbish or not enough overall. Dizzy, a bit sick, etc.

debka · 28/06/2012 14:39

Grin blizy that wasn't moaning, you need to take some lessons from my DH!

expat I lolled at Leo sticking his finger up his nose!!

wigglesrock · 28/06/2012 15:10

americanexpat Anna can reach the handle of our doors too, she can also undo the latch on the gate in the back garden. She points to her eyes, ears, arms etc if you ask her but also prefers her finger up her nose swiftly followed by her mouth Blush, S and O are disgusted by her Grin

reastie its very warm here too, we survived the flood of last night Shock, but Os nursery was flooded so it wasn't on today and today was their last day so we had a morning of huge sobs, mini tantrums and extreme disappointment Sad

blizy hope you feel better xx Summer holidays here too [yippee]

Working tonight but think we'll be empty, not sure the road to my work is passable Hmm, but that won't stop my boss from expecting me in!!

WeAreBorg · 28/06/2012 22:34

wiggles did you get to work? It took me 5.5 hours to get home. FIVE AND A HALF HOURS. AARRRGH. Actually it was quite nice, got to sit uninterrupted, listened to a bit of radio 4, ate some crisps. It was when I really needed a wee that it started to get a bit unpleasant.

Ah blizy, you are the loveliest least moaniest person I have ever known. Well done for the weight loss, that's amazing, it will really help with ttc.

deb N says baaa for most animals, except sss for snake and sss for giraffe Confused. He is rubbish at body parts except BUM! shouted very loudly whilst grabbing my (or random persons Blush) bum, he says it like bam like he is really posh Hmm

expat N is randomly very dextrous and can manage keys/locks no probs fortunately is a short arse so can't reach anything. DH is 6ft2 so no idea why he is such a tiddler.

ledkr really did Grin at your accidental comment of reasties clinginess.

ponyo i did watch cherry when she was pregnant, haven't seen her since so not sure. I find most young folk on TV irritating

debka · 29/06/2012 20:57

Ooo where is everyone today?

borg My GOD 5.5 hours on the road??!!! Were you worried about Nate? He sounds utterlay hilarious btw, I wish I lived closer and could meet him.

wiggles was watching your neck of the woods on the news, you had some water too didn't you! Poor Olivia, that was harsh :(

Been a lovely day again here so I took the girls to soft play with my mum and sister (it's bearable when everyone's at the beach!). My sister is one day past her due date and counting now.

What have you all got planned for the weekend? There's a Hairy Insect Day at our local (ish) village hall which I'll probably take the girls to, they love creepy crawlies. Maybe we'll have a picnic too

Oo something funny, my friend who has a DS the same age as ours had to get her gma to come and help look after him for various reasons. He couldn't go to cm as he had chicken pox. Except her g-ma informed her that it WASN'T in fact chicken pox, in her opinion he has FLEAS!!! hahahahahahaha!!! Grin

wigglesrock · 30/06/2012 07:52

Just a quick hello, work was not burried under water Grin, although my boss has just realised I'm leaving Shock and has decided the mature approach is to ignore me!

Am doing a split shift today and then am free, free, free from work, tbh am slightly shiteing myself but am determined to look on the positive side Grin

debka enjoy the insects/minibeasts, mine like stuff like that too Grin

blizy How you feeling? xxx

ledkr · 30/06/2012 16:49

I thought you ould all be missing me but it woud seem everyone has gone.just borrowing els ipad but hard to type with mysausage fingers. Hop you all well back soon

debka · 30/06/2012 18:37

I'm missing you led :)

reastie · 30/06/2012 18:51

Has everyone gone on holiday without me or something Hmm

ledkr love your sausage fingered post there Grin

wiggs how was the last shift? Must feel odd to have no more work?

blizy how are you feeling now?

Well, went to my sisters graduation yesterday Grin [proud] . It was all very posh and naice but had to leave before drinks on the lawn to get Alice to sleep on the way home. Got caught in massive traffic jam on way home and was stuck in the car for over 3 hours with a bored crying moaning Alice for at least an hour of that Confused . I swore in the car I would never take her on my own on a longish trip again involving roads likely to have delays.

Been to the gym 4 times this week [smug] . I'm loving it Grin

deb that's genius re: soft play when it's hot. Alice loves animals too - she's a bit obsessed with DMs cat and whenever she sees it gets a bit glint in her eye and chases it. We went to a farm park last week end and she stroked the sheep, pigs, goats, chicks, and guinea pigs and looked very pleased with herself. She does some animal noises and also some signs for animals too.

WeAreBorg · 30/06/2012 21:44

wiggles how was your shift?

deb I wish I could meet you all too. Does anyone live in herefordshire BTW (disclaimer:northerner with no idea where that is)? We're going there next week. My plans for the weekend - work, wish I was a lady of leisure like Lady Wiggles. Can't wait to hear your baby news!

ledkrs big fat fingers Grin

reastie well done to your sis, I hate driving with N for that reason. Alice is very brave, I have taken Nate to these farm things. If he is presented with a guinea pig or a rabbit he wallops it, going "Noooo". It's weird as he is so interested in animals but doesn't want them invading his space.

Is everyone going to the gym lots and losing weight? Feeling left out in fatties corner here. Trying to do a bit of exercise but I have nobody to look after N, just managing about once a week Blush

ledkr · 01/07/2012 08:25

Hohoho at all goingtothe gym. I started but when you get up at 5 its hard to stay motivated
Grin
I have been good with diet though and dont eat whjte stuff lots of protien it seems to work.
I was so sick yesterday that i lost weight. Its nice to feel normal again even at 530.
How does n sleep now borg?
Not been too keen on dh lately. We had a chat yesterday though but i dont think he gets it.
My life is vastly different and i do find that hard. He however can happily arrange to play footy on one of my work days so i have both kids at the busy tea and bedtime after a long day.
I have decided i am not coming home tuesday let him see what its like.
We have booked our hols. Four weeks of no housework apart from sweeping out the awning.

ledkr · 01/07/2012 08:28

Borg im not far away we could have a coffee and discuss lack of sleep. Pm me where you will be

blizy · 01/07/2012 13:00

Hi all, not been in much as Internet is playing up. Nothing exciting happening this weekend, just back from a car boot sale, on a mission to get some more toys to keep the troops amused during the holidays. Got some great bargains!Grin

Hope hope you are all having a goo weekend.

OP posts:
americanexpat · 01/07/2012 14:10

I only manage twice a week at the gym, used to be three until they changed to the summer timetable. I am slim(mer) though, back in my size 10s. Grin I have decided to completely clear my wardrobe of clothes that don't fit. I was trying on a dress last night and my underwear wouldn't stay up. Blush

Borg - 5 hours?! Shock No idea where Herefordshire is, I assume it's too far down south for me to ever visit.

L has been sleeping loads, slept til nearly 9 yesterday and today. Shock I think he must be growing as he ate everything last week. Fingers crossed it's that and not something that results in projectile vomit.
