I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread? Lets hope it's a lucky one for me.

Emski76 · 25/06/2012 13:04

Reastie, hope your ok. I think we all get days like yours!! I usually shove the boys in the back garden, if its dry, and try to cook that way. I rarely cook from scratch completely though, I'll make spag bol with a tin of tomatoes and a jar of sauce, and add the mushrroms so it only takes half hour. I;ve started cooking a roast on a Sunday afternoon that we can eat on a MOnday and Tuesday and have found this helps ALOT!!! Re tidy house, I honestly think its impossible to have a tidy house with chidren around, as long as the house isnt dirty I don;t give too hoots anymore!

Led, I hope your ok too after your bad weekend. Was thinking of you loads.

Blizy, boo and bugger off to af/spotting. Sorry you have a migrane too.

Well we had a fun weekend (not). Ben caught a tummy bug from preschool and was sick 4 times from 2am until 5am Saturday morning, then I was sick the early hours of Sunday. I swear I have never felt so sick in my teeny tiny life!! Luckily dh took the boys to the in laws yesterday so I got to rest, but dh spent the day in bed there as he felt ill!!

Hope everyone is ok.

Ooh, we had Ben's school open evening on Thursday night and I am now very excited about him starting school there. Its a fab school and i think he'll really settle in well. We went to the school fete on Friday afternoon and Ben got another sneaky peek at his new classroom! We bought more school uniform too - its all becoming a reality now!

wigglesrock · 25/06/2012 20:25

reastie you alright pet? I just stick A in a high chair with some buttons - chocolate not sewy Grin, if I need 10 mins, or I stick her in the highchair and give her a few crayons. She won't sit in her highchair to eat but she will to draw Hmm

All our downstairs is open plan so there are usually some age inappropriate toys for her to try and break play with.

emski v exciting re school. Glad you're happy with it, I don't think it was your first choice was it? They get so big so quickly and then I think when they start school everything is divided into terms so time goes even quicker Shock

americanexpat I have to hide toilet brushes from A Blush, although according to MN lore, they're terribly working class Wink I also had to take all the toilet roll and put it on a high shelf, she also fires random toys into the bath when there's water in it, usually the 2 or 3 dear and really beautiful soft toys she has got as presents!

ILovePonyo · 25/06/2012 21:07

Glad everyone else seems to have a poo related bath time story to share Grin

reastie I can relate. Thats it really! Work is fecking easier than looking after a baby imho, I can eat my lunch in peace and drink lots of tea, and as much as I love looking after A during the day when she is overtired/grumpy/teething its so hard. And the most fun things for her seem to be the things she shouldn't be doing, like climbing the stairs, or eating cat food, or ripping up books Hmm

emski yuck poor you and Ben, hope you're all better now. School uniform for B, aww, I think I'd cry :)

american Grin at free range, A is too!

blizy oh no to migraine, hope you're ok.

Hello everyone else :)

I went to the docs today as I have a horrible rash that is spreading, it started in my tum but is now all up my chest and one arm, ew. Apparently its a viral infection but prob stress related too? Very annoying but the doc said it should go by itself in a few weeks.
In other news, A cried when we picked her up from nursery and I'm pretty sure she wanted to stay! Better than her crying when we drop her off I suppose Shock

NeedToSleepZZZ · 25/06/2012 21:40

Hello everyone,
So sorry everyone seems to be going through it lately but it is reassuring to know I'm not alone. I lost it in bed last night as b head butted me on the bridge of my nose for the fifth time, I put him in his cot whilst he was crying and went into the garden to have a cry and a cigarette. I feel so guilty but everything is so overwhelming. Reastie, I completely understand what you're saying about not being able to get anything done, my house has never been so messy and it is so horrible, feel I can't relax. Have you got the door fixed yet?
Ledkr, please see your gp and get some time off, you sound so worn out and understandably stressed.

Ems, that's so sweet about bens uniform, where does the time go? The last 2 years since we've been chatting on here have flown by.

Blizy, how's your head? Migraines are the work of the devil, lie down in a dark room immediately. Really hope it's not AF x

Ponyo, yes to poo stories, the things I've had to do with b because of his problems, well, I won't disgust everyone by writing them here!

Good news from the paed, blood tests are clear but now pushing for a scan/ x-ray as things haven't changed at all so waiting for next appt as it might be a faecal impaction???

right, I'm going to have an early night, b is still asleep in his cot which is a miracle. I have no idea what we are going to do with his atrocious sleeping skills...

blizy · 26/06/2012 07:04

Sorry about the non sleeping babies.

Needto- good news about blood tests.

Emski- that's good you are so happy a bout ben's school, bet he looks super cute in his little uniform! My nephew is starting school this year too and is still in age 2-3 clothes( he is teany)!

Ledkr- how are you?

I defo think it is af rearing her ugly head, spotting is heavier.Sad

OP posts:
americanexpat · 26/06/2012 09:29

blizy - Sad When are your test results due?

NeedTo - I hope you're feeling better today. I've left L to cry sometimes when I feel I can't take anymore, I think all parents have done. Deffo push for a scan, I can't believe they've let it go on this long. Poor B. Sad

wiggles - toilet brushes are working class? Hmm How do they clean their toilets? Well, I work so I suppose I'm technically working class, eh? [buys fruit shoots]

reastie - Work is much much much easier than taking care of L all day. I'm absolutely knackered at the weekend.

Ems - Aww to Ben's uniform. I'm a bit sad L will never have a school uniform. I hope you're all on the mend!

L has suddenly become attached to a stuffed dog, loves to carry it around the house and took it to nursery this morning. It's about half his size so it's quite funny to see him carrying it.

Four4me · 26/06/2012 10:56

Morning all. Sorry some of the babies are being such pita's. I always find that I cope less well with the mess/chaos when I'm extra tired or hormonal. Archie is dreadful at tipping out cupboards and moving wellies/shoes etc. But he is happy to sit in his high chair and suck his thumb for hours a while if he has his comforter!! But I have slovenly low standards of tidiness nowadays.!

Boo hiss to blizy's af. Xx

A is so cute in your photos ponyo

So sweet seeing them in there uniform em until they proudly run out of school that afternoon with scuffed new shoes and filthy trousers from playing superheros . It will be all his home clothes L will be wrecking at school American !!

Hope deb you have had a super day at the tennis.

That doesn't sound fun needto poor little man.

Hope mrwiggles wasn't to late back.

Busy few days here. Ace time at slightly wet concert on Sat night. Thomas hated the air display and I had to bring him home (luckily it was just over the road). So we just had Joseph there who played with his pals whilst I drank too much!! Brilliant take that tribute band.
Yesterday I went on a school trip with Joseph's class to an Olympic sports event. It was great and all of the children were so good. Joey got presented with a real flag of the design competition he won a few weeks ago as seen on fb. Proud mummy moment, which made up for his lack of any skill in the archery comp. But don't worry I told him it is not about the winning (much) just about the taking part!!! Grin

Emski76 · 26/06/2012 13:07

Need to, how can a boy as beautiful as your Ben be such a pita when it comes to sleep!! I hope you get some answers soon re his poor botton. They really need to get on with getting him sorted now.

Four4, yes saw the fb pics of Joseph's flag, he looked so proud!!

Led, are you ok? Reastie too?

debka · 26/06/2012 17:23

Hey everyone,

Sounds like quite a few of us are going through the mill atm, much love and strength-giving vibes coming from me

Had an utterly fabbo day yesterday- S howled herself to sleep after half and hour Shock and a slight overdose of calpol Blush I had a LIE IN Monday morning then a full day of tennis, honestly my arse did not shift from my seat on court 1 unless I needed a wee or another Pimms

Got home at midnight to DH who had done tremendously well with the girls and had obviously really missed me Grin

Knackered today and haven't stopped, but hey, it's happy tired :)

Love to all, D xxx

reastie · 26/06/2012 19:54

Argh, wrote a long and obviously very witty reply but my internet went mad and it got deleted Angry

Jist was much better day today thank you - managed to get to the gym again and feel ten time better for it.

ems do you realise our LOs are now 1/3 of the way through their preschool years Shock Shock oh and I've only gone and bought the 50 shades of grey - are you still wanting to read it as you can have mine when I've finished assuming it's not so amazing that I want to keep it which is doubtful although I can be very slow at reading!

Sorry, just can't retype the rest Blush

Emski76 · 26/06/2012 20:15

Reastie, yes I woud love to borrow your copy of 50 shades off grey, thanx. I keep thinking that it's only 3 years until Noah starts school!! Time goes too quickly!! Glad your feeling better today, exercise definitely helps.

Deb, glad you enjoyed the tennis, and the Pimms! Sounds like you had a fab time. Also glad dh missed you (silly girly giggle).

Just chilling now. Been to Rainbows tonight. Took Ben along,he loves being with all the girls!

ILovePonyo · 26/06/2012 21:09

Hiya,

deb wimbs sounds brilliant, am I right in thinking this was your first proper lie in since Imy was born?!

Emski aw at B at Rainbows, cute!

Needto oh no to B and his crappy sleeping (still) no advice just lots of sympathy. I really appreciate it now when I wake up and realise A has slept through, there once was a time I took it for granted Hmm Good news about the blood tests but oh no to xrays, hope you get your appointment soon. Faecal impaction?! I don't know what it is but poor B.

american Grin at L and the stuffed dog, A really likes a (quite horrible) stuffed rat at nursery, I've seen her walking around carrying it looking all pleased a few times. Its from ikea but a bit creepy so I'm not getting her one

Four4 you fb piccys are lovely too Grin Concert sounds great!

blizy stupid AF Angry Sorry lovely.

Don't think I've got much interesting to say, just been working and then watching wimbledon this evening.

This Fri the olympic torch is coming to nottingham meaning that my road will be closed off for a bit. AIBU to be pissed off as I'm going home that day and don't want it to mean that I can't drive of my bloody road?!

WeAreBorg · 26/06/2012 21:44

deb i used to be really into wimbledon when i were a lass, in the days of boris becker, i don't have the concentration now though. sorry girls, i'll admit to enjoying the footie though. congrats on new job!

Envy to everyone looking at FB photos, I think I joined it ages ago but can't remember how to get back on

needto really hope you get some useful news from the hospital. did you say you had a thread about it? i could offer you some of my vast medical knowledge from google

Can I just ask, what do you use if not a toilet brush? I appreciate they are gross but do people just shove their arms down there???

blizy boo to AF. Am very jealous of your chimp visit.

Sorry for all the PITA babies at the moment. I think N is naturally a massive PITA so I don't really notice it anymore although I do think he is getting more placid. I took him to a messy play class today after all your comments; he was immaculate at the end of it, just played with a plastic chicken. I was rather cross.

emski reastie that book looks dreadful Smile

american N is crap at climbing, he has a pathetic try, which is followed by a massive strop when he can't do it. He can't climb up slides whatsoever but will try to run down them. He never climbs out of his highchair at home, but always in restaurants clearly demonstrating to people that I can't be bothered to strap him in properly, he once slid downwards out of one and I didn't know where he had gone Blush

tad i see you are meeting 44. Hmmphh.

We have a big annual gypsy fair type thing opposite our house for a week, it's a joy Hmm

americanexpat · 26/06/2012 22:15

Borg - I was just wondering where the hell you'd gone. I was thinking how we'd been competing for the worst sleeper on the thread title and now L sleeps like a bloody dream. Shock Unless we're on holiday then he won't sleep at all.

deb - well done to your DH (for caring for the girls, not the shag Grin)!

44me - well done to Joseph, he looks so proud in the photo.

blizy · 27/06/2012 00:44

Grin at Nate with the plastic chicken (random) at "messy" play!

Grin at Anya and the toy rat.

Debka- your day sounded fab! Well done to your Dh and the girls for coping without you. Grin at Dh missing you too. Hope you enjoyed your reunionWink.

I have read the first to fifty shades books and have just started on the 3rd one. I haven't found them to be great tbh, I had to read the other 2 as I need to find out what happens! Did anyone find they skip over the "dirty" bits? I think they are boring and just crap!

I must be the only girl reading them for the actualshitty storyline!Blush

I can't sleep tonight, too many things running through my empty head. 16 months ago Zoe left the world, 2 years ago today I got my bfp.

I am sick and tired of the waiting, ttc is getting me down, well the fact that I'm not pregnant is. I just wish my stupid body would hurry up and get pg! I am doing everything I should be. I even lost 14lbs.

OP posts:
reastie · 27/06/2012 07:39

blizy completely understand re: ttc - I can only imagine your situ and it must be so stressful and all consuming every month, thinking about it and wanting it so much but not having control. Massive well done on the 14lbs though - that's great work. Is the app working still for you?

american and ponyo it's so funny as Alice has this really scary toy clown which she loves and takes it around with her and I find it really freaky and tbh quite scary looking see picture of one very similar

borg I admit I'm not very impressed with the first 3 chapters of 50 shades, not sure what all the fuss is about at all yet, but await to be enthralled.

Argh, more to say but have to get ready for work. Chat later.

blizy · 27/06/2012 08:02

Sorry about the moaning, I blame lack of sleep! ( was still awake at bloody 4 am Angry)

Reastie-no I've not used the app in ages. I have just cut out all the crap, reduced portion size and carbs. I have found it really easy, but I am so determined to lose weight - it will better for ttc.

Hope you all have a good day, I have no mindees until 3pm so I'm off for a sleep.

OP posts:
reastie · 27/06/2012 08:14

Blizy you're not moaning at all. Goodness it's good that you can come here to chat about it, please don't hold things in for fear of thinking you are moaning as you're not and we are all listening to you and holding your hand on the ttc road (and then passing you lots of ginger biscuits and gaviscon when you do get pg)

wigglesrock · 27/06/2012 10:58

blizy I have just finished the 3rd Grey book Blush I skipped the dirty bits, by the time you get to the 3rd book they are just so bloody boring - handcuffs - check, deep and meaningful glances - check, all satisfied - check Grin and guess what deep down he's just a little boy needing to be loved not at all a hard hearted bastard who enjoys hurting women during sex Hmm. Anyway rant over Grin, sending lots of love xx

reastie I put Annas name down for Olivias nursery school yesterday Shock, places are allocated on an age basis here but I think the nursery can pull a few strings unlike the primary.

Sofia finishes school today and Olivia tomorrow so they've been bringing home all the work they've done all year, I mean I love the girls but I am not treasuring every piece of scribble [bad Mum alert]

ponyo Ikea does a very fetching rat soft toy - its horrible!

americanexpat · 27/06/2012 12:29

[legs it to Ikea for rat toy]

reastie - I thought of you last night when L got the lid off the flour jar and spilled flour all over the cupboard. I let him get on with disassembling the kitchen while I made dinner and half the cupboard contents (bottles of oil, etc.) were eventually moved to the worktop. The kitchen was in shambles and he wouldn't even eat his dinner. Angry

blizy - I hope you've had some sleep. Vent as much as you need to, it seems so unfair that you're not pg yet.

Emski76 · 27/06/2012 12:31

BLizy, please don;t feel bad for venting on here. We are all here to listen. And your fab, by the way!! Well done on the weight loss. It sounds like your doing all the right things, just need to wait for your body to catch up!

Wiggles, the amount of (crap) art the boys bring home from nursery is unbeliveable! Noah comes home with pieces of paper with just one line of colouring on them. Last Weds morning i was given a load of junk modelling Ben had made, it was bloody huge and ended up straight in the recycling bin!

Reastie, Alice's clown looks dead creepy, but then clowns freak me out anyway (wierdo I know, but so does whispering!!)

Off to eat my jacket tato and beans - yum. Would much rather have chips, but hey ho, its off to diet land we go!

blizy · 27/06/2012 12:56

Clowns remind of Stephen king's "it", I watched when I was about 12 and I had nightmares for ages!Grin

Emski- whispering freaks you out? Weirdo!Grin

I managed to sleep for an hour, I'll be taking advantage of af and drinking loads of proper coffee! (I have been drinking decaff)

OP posts:
MizK · 27/06/2012 13:34

Hello you beauties, happy Wednesday all round!

blizy sorry AF is here. Def drink coffee to your hearts content, hope you're OK. It must be doing your head in, it will be your turn v soon. You're doing all you can you just need a bit of luck, we are all willing you on lady x
emski same! I hate the skittles ad where a freaky kid whispered 'taste the rainbow' at the end, glad there's a fellow weirdo out there :)
reastie Sorry you had a bad day with Alice. I think its actually sometimes easier with more than one child (depending on age, lots of teeny ones are hard work!) - like after school, I can leave cass with one of the older two in the living room playing whilst I get dinner started etc. Agree with wiggles plonk her in the high chair for 10 mins if you need to, raisins work well as a bribing tool with Cassia!
wiggles Jeez that must be a lot of paper being ferried home, I filter it all v selectively and keep the odd piece, its just too much!
borg re toilet brush - I can't deal with them so the answer is disposable gloves, kitchen roll, bleach and yes get the arm in there! To each their own tho when it comes to toilets :)
ponyo I think the torch is going to cause chaos here in Nottingham! I can't go to messy play on Friday because Joe's school has given us permission to take them along to watch the torch, he is v excited but I'm just envisioning carnage in terms of crowds and traffic....Sucks for you to be stuck at home if your road is closed, boo!
debka tennis sounds great (and nice welcome home for you too by the sounds!)
needto glad to hear tests came back clear, just hope his problem gets sorted out soon x

Big wave to everyone I missed, better go and clean the bathroom whilst madame is asleep. Been moaning to my bf this morning about my issues with food and weight, I got down to 10st 12 prior to my hol and felt really slim and nice, and ever since I have literally been compulsive eating. I just seem to either stick religiously to a diet or binge like a maniac. Wish I could just eat sensibly and not feel the urge to obsess over food all the time! deb especially I am so in awe how you manage to keep to a healthy way of life and have done for ages, its fab.

reastie · 27/06/2012 15:07

blizy and ems I'm the same with clowns . One night Alice left her toy clown in my bedroom and I couldn't sleep with it in the same room as me as it made me feel creepy so I had to take it out on the landing Blush

mizk the food thing is annoying isn't it. I bet you still look fab though.

Re: loo brush. I don't use one either - I use a cloth, bleach and rubber gloves (I hasten to add the cloth goes on a hot hot hot wash with milton after every use)

deb when does your job start? I've got 2 more weeks after this one then holidays if you want to arrange a meet up date?

american I fully sympathise for your flours mess

wiggles look at you all organised with nurseries Grin

reastie · 27/06/2012 15:08

Oh and keep meaning to ask - those of you that leave their Los when working - do they ever or still get upset when you leave? Alice screams the second she sees MIL still - it gets worse and worse every week and has been going on for ages now
