Emrys is now a whole 5 days old... m/w came today, said she was going to weigh him and warned that they drop weight to start with... then looked stunned as she worked out he'd GAINED 4oz! Shock Turns out although mummy is feeling like a milk machine, its clearly working Wink.

He's lovely and settled during the day - eats and sleeps fairly regularly... then at night must feed constantly Angry. Spent the last two nights sleeping on the sofa because it is more comfortable than bed for feeding. He is currently asleep in the carry cot - think its his longest stint in there so far (a whole 20 mins Wink) - trying to convince him that sleeping with me constantly really isn't necessary!!!

Got chiropractor appointment for Friday - he has the same problems with latching on one breast that DD had (I have to hold him rugby ball style so he can face the same way)... chiro fixed DD almost instantly though, so I have high hopes for happier nipples soon.

Tears a bit better today...

3k · 01/03/2006 21:16

Hi All,

I'm feeling really teary too especially in the evenings and think it is because I'm getting so tired. DH went back to work on Monday and I'm feeling a bit lonely and also the dog is really sick and has cancer in her eye (she had it removed over a year ago and it has come back) vet not so sure he can fix her this time Sad and I'm devastated. She has been to vets today and come back with a shaven face and stitches etc and looks awlful so that made me cry more. Find out results of biopsy on 13th.

On the plus side Ben is doing well, he put on 5oz in 12 days and is being weighed again this Friday.

Does anyone miss being pregnant? I cant wait to do it all again although need to wait a year for c-section stitches to heal.

Congrats to Thell and Flamesparrow. Almost everyone over here now.

TicTac · 01/03/2006 21:32

Frizbe is not showing any signs of joining us yet!

I have a sore left boob...whats that all about..tut!

Big hugs to those a bit teary...it passes!!!

Oh 3k, I really feel for you re your dog, I hope the results come back clear, sending you huge hugs Sad

As for missing being preggers? No way! I love being able to roll over in bed without being reduced to tears, I love not having to pee every 1hr during the night and I love not feeling like a beached whale Grin

Ds is asleep now but bloody hell today has been hard work, he has not seemed satisfied at all after his feeds today, not sure if he is hungry or just wanting something to suck on as a comfort thing though. Think I might have to resort to a dummy which DH is dead against. Thing is, I feed him, he falls off as if he has had enough and then 2mins later he is gaping at anything in sight again. I also have to leave him to cry when I put him to bed after a feed for about 10mins until he drops off to sleep.

Wishing you all a good night with your babies.

Jasnem · 02/03/2006 07:36

3k - I really hope your dog is ok. lots of hugs to you now.

I'm having ateary time too...my stitches are pulling really badly, I've got terrible piles, and boobs like rocks. Going to go to dr today, as I can hard;y sit (Idid go out and do too much yesterday, so it's my own fault really)

Baby is still lovely though, just wish he could feed abit more and releave the pressure...

Helen38 · 02/03/2006 08:19

Anybody complaining that they miss being pg will be subjected to stern looks, from me at least and frizbe may join me Wink

Glad you are all enjoying babes, hope to be able to join you soon.:)

Frizbetheexpansionset · 02/03/2006 09:14

Totally agree Helen Wink

hotmama · 02/03/2006 09:26

Sad for 3K's dog.

I can't say I'm missing being pregnant but I am considering having number 3! In the later stages of pregnancy I was cacking it - but having 2 isn't too bad - (suppose it does help that dd1 is full-time at nursery at the moment - though I will revert back to putting her in p/t from next week).

I'm 40 next year and because I have had a section need to wait at least a year - so I might try to conceive in Jan 07 - will see! Wink

I think I need to concentrate on getting dd2 to feed well as her weight gain is slow - so I will see how the next few days go.

Dd2 only woke at 3 last night so I feel reasonably refreshed.

Hope you girls are O.K - now popping over to the antenatal thread to give some moral support to Friz and Helen. Smile

TicTac · 02/03/2006 10:05

I don't miss being preggers but I do want to experience it all over again! I think we might start TTC mid 07 Grin

DD slept from 6 to 10:30 and then from 11 to 1:30 and then from 2:15 to 5:30 and is now currently wide awake making lots of noises!

:( about your dog.

I had the bright idea of attempting to feed the right way round this morning... I hurt sooo much now. I seem to be constantly full too, no matter how much he takes in a feed - its since that night he fed constantly - my body is now convinced I need enough milk to feed 6 children!

Flame - Can I have some of your milk! Wink

My breasts seem to be seriously deflated unlike the watermelons of last week. I know this is normal - but they feel so empty although I know they are not as dd2 gets a real milky face etc.

Do you think I should do some pumping at the end of feeds to get more milk in ? Then more available so dd2 will bulk out a bit? Or should I just carry on as I am as d2 is putting on weight be it slowly? Smile

Flamesparrow · 02/03/2006 12:12

If she's still putting on weight, then you must have enough milk in there... I'd love deflated feeling ones right now!! I can't lay on my side without em leaking Blush

4blue1pink · 02/03/2006 12:20

Hi Girls...My Boy ( 15 days old and still no name!) did that gagging thing too and a funny chewing motion. Midwife took one look at the 'chewing' and said 'Fast delivery' which it was ( I was most impressed)
It stopped but only after maybe four days.
My boy is an angel-cake! He sleeps 7-8 hours a night and is as sweet and calm as cherry -pie in day!
I will try to post a picture of him but can someone tell me how!

Tabs · 02/03/2006 14:06

4b1p - check out this thread for instructions on how to post photo. \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=9&threadid=108853\here}

Jasnem · 02/03/2006 14:47

Wow! 7-8 hoursShock I was feeling really smug that Boy (only 4 days with no name, and I'm constantly being hassled to give him one!)has been sleeping for 2 four hour stints in the night.

I really got lucky with this one... he's as easy as my first, and totally calm and relaxed. Still having a bit of trouble feeding on one side, too - so engoreged he's not latching properly, having to express to releave the pain, and getting more and more sore. Will see midwife tomorrow, and get her advice.

I went out yesterday for the first time... am paying the price today for too much walking. Have got the worst piles I've ever had (sorry TMI), and stitches are still v painful, and pull when I bend. Went to gp for pain releifand cream, and had to get a taxi home, I fely so bad!
Better now as I've hardly moved since I got in, and the codeine is starting to help.

More babies planned already!Shock
Pretty confident this is my last - I plan on really enjoying boy on his own.

TicTac · 02/03/2006 14:58

Hi girls,

Well I've had a nightmare past couple of days. DS has been feeding non-stop, I'm knackered, he cries all the time and I can't seem to settle him Sad I really envy those of you getting more than 2 hour stints between feeds and as for 7/8 Envy I'm lucky if I get longer than 20mins during the day at the moment - not that I give in everytime or I would never get chance to do anything. On the plus side DS now weighs 10lbs6oz and he was 9lbs13oz on his last weigh so he is getting enough food.

Flame - without trying to sound too weird, sometimes I think you seem very similar to me - you carried your baby in the same way I did, your bump looked identical to mine and it is uncanny how similar your baby looks to mine, I'll post a piccie when I get round to it so you can see for yourself!

ellenrose · 02/03/2006 17:35

Congrats to Thell and Jasnem

Maisie has spent most of the day gagging and being sick then being absolutely fine - she was up most of the night unable to settle so is sleeping when not being sick but I am knackered. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

hotmama · 02/03/2006 19:21

Chloe55 - my dd2 may sleep well - but too well for my liking - as I have posted I have to wake her up to feed and she is taking ages to put weight on. I'd love her to be a bruiser! Smile I'm sure you'd be happy if she didn't scoff so much but slept - we're never happy with what we have got are we? Smile

4blue1pink · 02/03/2006 19:34

Posted a pic of mine on 'Any which way but loose link' I wanted to link it to here but dont know how...anyone help!!!
