Chloe - your little man may well be on a growth spurt hence all the feeding...it does take it out of you though doesn't it!! I only get 2 hours between feeds too but that is because Peyia is too small to be able to tak on enough food to fill her up. 10 pound is meant to be quite the milestone for sleeping through so you might be on your way?!?!

Peyia decided today that she would only sleep for 1 hour after each feed...I hope that means I am in for a wonderful, feed free night..LOL...I don't think so either!

Thanks to all for best wishes for my dog. She has been ok today but looking at her makes me feel really sad.

Emrys and Peyia are gorgeous, I may try to post a piccie tomorrow if I can work it out. Ben has changed a lot since his birth.

Well I'm off to watch footballers wives then off to bed. So speak to you all tomorrow.

Hugs to everyone who is not getting much sleep - it will get better. Chloe have you tried wrapping him up and taking him out in the car or pram - I found dd always slept for longer if she was moving.
Jess had her check at the hospital for her heart murmer yesterday - it hasn't gone but he seems to think that she will grow out of it - something to do with the fact that her blood vessels are still very small but it will go as they get bigger. We have to take her back again in July.
They are sleeping quite well at night - going about 6 hours between feeds - they make up for it during the day though - but I am not complaining.
Am off to have a shower whilst they are both asleep!

Chloe55 · 03/03/2006 09:19

Morning girls,

Well, I had a much better night Smile After having such a bad 2 days and crying on the HV, DH came home to a sleeping baby and he slept for 4hours!!! Typical! Grin Wasn't complaining though. Then he woke at 10.30pm, had a change and feed, slept for another 3hrs, had a change and feed then slept for another 3hrs I was sooooo happy. DH got up with him this am at 5am - he didn't wake me and gave DS a bottle of formula, it was bliss to have that time out tbh. So, we have decided from now on that ds will have a bottle of formula for his first morning feed, a bottle of expressed breast milk if we ever need to go out and the boob any other time. I have had a lovely morning with ds since dh left for work, he hasn't cried once, has had a really good feed on the breast and has now nodded off. I think yesterday was a bad day for both of us, me being stressed and upset was undoubtedly rubbing off on him - even the car wouldn't settle him, lets hope today continues to be a pleasure.

Did you get a full night's sleep TicTac? Grin

TicTac · 03/03/2006 09:49

Hey Chloe...big grin for your sleep!! DD had last feed at 10:30 then woke at 2 and again at 6!!! A very good night all told! She is currently wide awake (usually sleeps after her breakfast!!

Hello!!! We are still alive!!! And finally home from hospital!
The lowdown is that ds2 (!) was born with a random infection of some kind, so we had to stay in a week so he could be put on a drip twice a day. He's fine now, luckily. In a way, I'm glad I was in a bit longer, as it was easier to recover from the section without having ds1 jumping around, and I didn't have to sleep on the sofa in order to be close enough to the loo at home etc. Ds1 hated me for a while, but things are slowly getting back into a system now.

Anyway, the details of the birth are: c section on 21/2/06, which went beautifully compared to last time. Bram Thomas was born at 10.55am, with the cord 3 times round his neck (another reason it was lucky to have a section), at a huge 9lb 14oz. My birth partner was fantastic, and very happy because she got to cut the cord! She then went on hol, but because we were in hospital so long, she was back in time to bring us home too!

Will pop on once it all settles down here!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/03/2006 12:48

Grin big congrats Ixel!

cuffyj1 · 03/03/2006 18:55

Well i should be in for a great nights sleep tonight, Lewis is staying overnight at my mums, i was really unsure about letting him but i'm tired and mum assures me she can cope and he'll be fine so i've just dropped him off and missing him already.

Lewis was weighed again on wednesday and is 10lb 1oz now, he's put a pound on in 9 days. (mw said average is 3-4oz a wk)

cuffyj1 · 03/03/2006 19:47

I've finally worked out how to post a picture of Lewis. He's in member profiles under Cuffyj1's Lewis. (I don't know how to do links)

Chloe55 · 04/03/2006 07:56

Sounds like Frizbe is on her way - check out the due feb thread! Woohoo, poor Helen though, she'll have to come on this thread anyway, she can't stay on the other one!

Had a fairly good night again, DH got up to to do the feed at 4.30 this am, leaving me to sleep, he is just bathin him then I'm taking over and DH can go back to bed Smile

Having my first night out tonight, mum is babysitting, hopefully I can express enough milk to see her through a feed. Oh, what I'd do to be able to have a few glasses of wine tonight and let my hair down a bit, oh well I guessw I have responsibilities now Grin will stick to being designated driver.........again!

Jasnem · 04/03/2006 09:52

Morning,
I'll try and do thoses links for you in a bit if Boy stays asleep. I shouldn't have said anything about getting four hour breaks in the night...he's been really restless and not gone longer than two hours day or night for the past two days. Hoping it's just a growth spurt (already?)

Can't really take him out, as my stitches are so painful I can't really walk that far. Mum took him out yesterday and he slep so I could have a bath and go back to bed. She's gone home now, so I'll be on my own for the first time on Monday. Trying to rest so I'm more healed for then.

Flamesparrow · 04/03/2006 12:28

Hello guys - having internet withdrawal!!!! All is going well here. Little man is feeding well - on the side that he latches on properly it finally feels like breastfeeding should.. just gentle little nudging without the toe curling pain Wink. Still problems on the other side - we had our chiro appointment yesterday, and they agreed that there is resistance to turning that way... treatment starts Tuesday, so hopefully things will improve soon. If nothing else, they sleep for a good 5-6 hours straight after the appointment (I slept all yesterday afternoon Grin).

DD is doing well - she went to play at my friend's yesterday afternoon... its been nearly 3 weeks since she'd seen them all. They got her changed into pjs to come home, and she announced she was sleeping there Shock... got a phone call from a toddler at 8pm last night saying "mummy, i sleep Japob's house please?" - huge mix of emotions - she sounded soooo grown up and i felt all proud, but slightly unloved at the same time! She then said thankyou when i said ok, told me she loved me, and went away! Shock

This onehanded typing thing is a slow process!!! (Especially when I'm writing essays Blush)

Hope the night out went well Chloe, and your night off Cuffy!!!

Flamesparrow · 04/03/2006 19:00

Sooooo.... who wants some news about Frizbe???

Neve born today Grin . 10.58am, 8lbs 11oz, pool and gas & air... no tears or anything!

TicTac · 04/03/2006 22:05

Yay..Frizbe is joining us.
Boo...still waiting for Helen!

OP posts:
hotmama · 05/03/2006 06:49

Hurrah for Frizbe - glad she is joining us. Grin

Lets push out some labour vibes for Helen. Smile

Morgan · 05/03/2006 08:42

Hi,

Congrats to Frizbe and a lovely name too.

Been suffering from wind/colic here despite lots of infacol. Poor little thing shreiks so much with the pain. Keep thinking of taking her to the doc but if is only wind what will they do?? Going to get her weighed on Tues so will ask the nurse what she thinks. Luckily she has been good the last couple of nights after being awakw from 10 to 2.30 before that. She gets it anytime of the day or night! Her attack yesterday lasted for four hours .

Hope everyone else is doing good and getting some sleep.

Jasnem · 05/03/2006 09:19

Sad for colicky babies - no practical advice here...DD2 suffered for months and nothing really helped. Lots of sympathy though.

Boy is great - we all went out for a meal last night, and he slept through almost all of it...lovely.

I am not so good - midwife came yesterday, and looked at my painful stitches. I have an infection (so at least it's not just me being a wimp) so have started antibiotics. No improvement yet thoughSad

Chloe55 · 05/03/2006 10:06

Yay for Frizbe!!!!!!!!

Hope things improve down below for you Jasnem, sounds quite painful.

Aww your poor babe Morgan, ds has a bit of colic too but not to the extreme that yours has, I feel sorry enough for him with his little bouts so God knows how you must be feeling with 4hr stints of the stuff Sad

I had a really good night last night, fed ds before I left and left mum with 6oz of expressed milk (just in case) - was a good job because he had finished the lot by the time we got home a couple of hours later. Mum said we could stay out till the party finished if we liked but by 10pm I was ready to come home, firstly coz I was knackered and secondly because I just missed ds and was worrying about him by this point. Was good to just get out though.

We are all off out for Sunday lunch today so fingers crossed he sleeps through Grin

Flamesparrow · 05/03/2006 13:04

:( to all those with colicky babies. DS (that looks soooo weird!) is having a few issues parting with wind... we discovered last night that he coped best if we swaddle him, sit him slightly upright, and hold his arms down so he stays calm when it starts to hurt - its not helping shift the wind any faster, but it keeps him getting distressed, crying, and making it worse. A much better nights sleep with that method (he's in our bed at the moment anyway... still having trouble convincing him to sleep alone - and enjoying cuddles so not trying overly hard to change that Wink).
