Our very 1st post-natal thread for the vast majority who graduate this month!

Bring on the birth stories and tales or triumph of parenting a newborn!

Fee I love the title pmsl (or should that be leaking fanjo?)

EsmeWeatherwax · 03/02/2012 23:21

Snort...like the title! I'm guessing I should be posting on here since baby has very definitely arrived! I'm currently enjoying the fantastic wonders of hexagonal boobs! Wake up baby! I hate expressing...

I'd love to say I'm doing a great job of parenting so far, but he's the very easiest baby ever born, just eats and sleeps! Although he does produce dirty nappies on a production line basis, and being so used to girls, I do tend to forget about the pee fountain syndrome!

Looking forward to seeing y'all over here sooner rather than later!

phlossie · 05/02/2012 14:38

I have made a new stats thread here - it's missing some info, so when you can see through the fog, please do update and add names etc if you want to!

Hello just marking my place

I lurked a longtime on antenatal, nervous first half of pg, then never felt got into other thread re fb etc, so thought I better make a proper effort!

Due cs tomorrow am, hope to have posted birth story by this time tomorrow. Its my second section I'm 39 weeks today, expecting to have dd. bought lots of food from m & s to eat instead of hospital food, and probably have packed far too much.

Thanks for starting thread queenfee, hope it's a nice chatty thread as don't want o go over o fb.

ZhenThereWereTwo · 14/02/2012 17:55

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 16/02/2012 17:52

A quiet hello from me and my new DD2 who put in an appearance Monday morning… all very exciting and I'm exhausted and exhilarated by the whole thing again. Grin

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 16/02/2012 17:53

Oh … and my boobs are soooooo sore!

ZhenThereWereTwo · 16/02/2012 20:26

Congratulations Minstrels, welcome to your new DD. Has your milk come in today by any chance? :)

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 17/02/2012 02:02

Wowee… I'd forgotten what it was like being Jordan…but naturally. Poor DD2 is being flooded and DD1 keeps looking at my cleavage with horror Wink

deardear · 17/02/2012 06:47

Congrats minstrels. Hope boobies settle soon.

littlemonkeybix · 17/02/2012 17:06

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 17/02/2012 21:39

Hhhmmm boobies are very hexagonal Wink. But … am falling more in love everyday. Any suggestions for soothing stitches - do you think those Mr Bump gel pads would be good? Hmm

ZhenThereWereTwo · 17/02/2012 23:22

Some suggestions here Minstrels.

Every time I read your name it makes me want Minstrels chocolate Grin

Minstrelsaremarvellous · 19/02/2012 01:44

Sorry Zhen … the name doesn't really help does it?! I am partial to a spot of galaxy chocolate though. Grin

louby86 · 20/02/2012 08:01

Hello! I can officially join the post natal thread Grin

My little boy Jackson was born at 2.20am on the 17th, weighing 6lbs 11.5oz. Not a nice labour and I'm still very emotional about it but he's safe and sound and that's what is important.

Looking forward to seeing people move over to this thread Grin

ZhenThereWereTwo · 26/02/2012 13:13

Hi officially joining too :)

My second daughter, Nalani was born by EMCS at 6.08pm on the 23.2.12.

My birth story is on the other thread in ante-natal.

claricestar · 26/02/2012 18:28

hi. DC3 (DD2), Madeleine was born on Weds at 40+2.
birth story in antenatal thread. I have sore nipples at the mo but apart from that all is good!
she just sleeps and feeds at the mo and has just slotted in to the family. my 2 year old dd1 seems to have taken it well so far, and ds, 6 years old, is a proud big brother. so far so good!

Enraha · 29/02/2012 21:29

Hi, well since it's 29 Feb and the other thread is on the quiet side now, I'm going to switch over to this one. My DS was born on 31st Jan. It's been a really tough 4 weeks tbh. Recovered from birth okay, but the family has been playing pass the flu bug and we've been dealing with the expected newborn chaotics.

I'm soldiering on with BF, which I'm finding so hard, with crazy sore nipples and some very stressful issues on DS weight gain, which has sapped my confidence quite a lot. Had similar problems with DD and gave up, but hoping not to need to give up this time.

Well enough of my grumbles, would love to hear how others are getting on (I don't mix FB with MN, as I'm hardly on FB). A very big welcome to all the lovely new babies and their talented mums Thanks

PDog · 02/03/2012 05:11

Hello. Officially marking spot. Dd2 arrived on 24th feb. Just feeding her now.

ZhenThereWereTwo · 02/03/2012 09:06

Congratulations PDog Thanks

Enraha sorry to hear that you have been plagued by bugs. Have you tried nipple shields to give those sore nipples some temporary protection? Also last time I had very sore nipples my mum bought me some of this which I sprayed on then left to dry naturally before using Avent nipple cream or Lansinoh. I found it very cooling and relieving. This time round I bought some nipple cream from Multi-Mam which is very good, but they also do these which I haven't tried that might give you some relief.

Well a bit sore here still, had to phone GP to get some stronger pain meds yesterday for DH to pick up as ibuprofen and paracetamol not enough at points.

I am probably doing too much after an EMCS, but it is hard when you have a nearly 3 year old who wants your attention. Feel bad that I can't do much with her.

DD2 is feeding well, she was jaundiced, but that is going now and DD1 keeps saying how proud she is of me and that she loves her baby sister Grin

Ray81 · 02/03/2012 13:54

Hi all congrats to all those with their babies.

Thomas is now 8 days old, feeding not going so well I have had to top him up with bottles as he was on me 24 hrs a day and as I have 21 month old DD2 I just can't do that. Am going to carry oncombine feeding and hope it gets better.

We have also had lots of tantrums from DD2, she loves DS but hates all the attention he is getting, hopefully it will get easier, I just feel so sorry for her and guilty its horrid, spent yesterday in tears and am surethere will be more to come.

Well must go DS needs feeding bless him.

Emz33 · 03/03/2012 04:41

Marking spot! Off to feed Luke (again!)

MrsTimeOut · 03/03/2012 04:47

Hi there.am pretty new to MN and wasn't in antenatal club. Hope you'll still let me join! Dc2 (ds1) was born on 13 feb. had section cos he was breech. He is very chilled out unlike his big sis! Bf going well. Much better than dd who fed around the clock and I ended up with deep rooted thrush in both breasts. Those first 8 wks are a bit of a fog. DS can have good feeding session ( 2/3 hrs) in morning nap for three hrs which is great. We usually have cluster feeding in the evening. He went down at 1030 last night and was shocked to find it was 430 when I woke. I roused him from his sleep and thankfully he's having a good feed but do you think, at 18 days, 6 hrs at night is too much of a stretch?? Dd never did that kind of stretch til she was about 3 months old. There are plenty of wet and dirty nappies & weight gain was good at check up on mon.
