Oh he's just done a massive poo......!

Engelsmeisje · 13/01/2012 14:19

if I won the lottery I would most definitely never have to wash-up again Grin

When I told DH about baby french he was a bit Shock Nothing like that over here but I reckon it's because the Dutch come out of the womb trilingual. Everyone we know is fluent in at least one other language (apart from my FIL who is only fluent in Muppet..when I moved here he kept trying to to speak to me in bad German, which wasn't very helpful to a monolingual "engelsmeisje"). DH speaks Dutch, English, German, Spanish, better French than me (despite me studying it for 8 years at school) and even managed to pick up and retain a bit of Vietnamese when we were there a few years ago. He regularly beats me at Scrabble in English (and needless to say, kicks my arse when we play in Dutch Grin).

Sad about going back to work BB3 and fleecy. I have 6 weeks left and then I'm back for 2 days for the rest of the school year, then will probably go to 3 when I start back in August. The days seem to be disappearing so quickly...

glad mastitis is clearing up fleecy

anyone else still got severe babybrain? I keep going upstairs to get something and either forgetting what I went for or coming back down empty handed and then remembering. I put the washing in the machine half an hour ago and only just realised that I'd forgotten to turn it on.

DH has just popped out to give blood so have spent half an hour on MN blitzed the house to make up for being a lazy cow this morning (instead of going for a walk I started watching season 4 of True Blood).

Grin I've told my mum that M won't need any presents for his birthday, just wrapping paper but you've made me reconsider Groovy. Empty packet of wipes would be much more environmentally friendly!

Sorry for mammoth post....can you tell I'm bored?!

Engelsmeisje · 13/01/2012 14:21

Sorry to hear you're having a bad day scheh. When M is having a tantrum I sing Les Mis at him - I'm either really bad or really good because it shuts him up!

Anyway, just wanted to say it's not anything you're doing that's making him cry. M was the same the other day - wouldn't settle. Loud TV sounds good! Sending you a hug.

sassy34264 · 13/01/2012 15:03

is he drawing his legs up scheh ?

if he is, it could be colic. dd1 had it and i did a lot of pacing the floor with a screaming baby. big hugs. x

sassy34264 · 13/01/2012 15:08

yes engels severe baby brain here. didnt get rid of it from the twins and its been that long, i thing it might be here to stay!
dont other countries put us to shame?! our education is rubbish in comparison to most some.

bilblio my mum is the same- bloody pricless.

yeah at getting rid of mastitis fleecy

Though the Dutch aren't as clever as they think they are. DH were laughing at a T-shirt in Orenatal (Ducth mothercare) that said: Proud to be stout (In Dutch, stout means naughty). We were making fgun of it and then one of his colleagues gave it to us as a present! Hmmmm...didn't take that T-shirt to the UK with us.

Engelsmeisje · 13/01/2012 15:32

Prenatal, not Orenatal!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 13/01/2012 18:25

Think we're having a growth spurt, M is 12 weeks on Wednesday does that sound about right?
Well I made it about halfway through my ironing before kids woke up and had to start dinner etc. Feels like I'll never clear it.

If I won the lottery I'd do the same sassy nannies, cleaners, cooks, gardeners etc except id also need a personal trainer/nutritionist as I'd get really fat sitting around doing nothing!

GroovyRach · 13/01/2012 18:26

engel Envy at ur dh speaking all those languages. I'd love to learn another, but just don't have the patience. Can speak French but it's been many years so don't think I'd get very far now!!

How's ds now sch? Could be coming up for 4 month growth spurt. I find S is just grumpy/clingy/sleepy/hungry on those days.

Ive had a busy wee day trying to get stuff done while S naps. Car insurance renewal, thank you cards etc. most of it all done tho so I can score off my to do list Grin

Friends on her way over with Chinese and a DVD so it's a chill out night ones little lady is in her bed Smile

Watching S trying to fit her whole fist into her mouth is quite amusing Grin

sassy34264 · 13/01/2012 19:15

help!
dp is normally back by now, but he is only coming back sunday night. so a whole 48 hours to go on myself. last time i spoke to another adult or left the house was monday............

MrsHende · 13/01/2012 19:19

Oh Sassy! I'd have lost the plot by now - can you get someone to visit over the weekend? I didn't get out today because the pram broke yesterday and I've got cabin fever already!

sassy34264 · 13/01/2012 19:45

mrshende having people over would mean tidying! Grin
my whole life just feels like im wading through treacle at the moment and everything is a massive effort. dont think im depressed or anything, itz justhard.
keeping eye out for second hand triple pram, counting down days till dp leaves navy and weaning of eva, will all improve the situation no end.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 13/01/2012 20:36

MrsH is it Glasgow you're from as well?

Jnice · 13/01/2012 20:41

sassy you are doing amazingly - who cares about a bit of mess, you should see my place Blush

When I can't make it out I like to have long chats on the phone, during bfing sometimes, although feelings are getting shorter. Anyone you can call to just have a natter? Roll on Sunday!

MrsHende · 13/01/2012 21:08

That's right Edward! I was at Braehead yesterday - what a great baby changing room!

Sassy, can someone come over to help you get out? I know that's what I asked people to do for me when I couldn't get out by myself after my c-section. You're doing amazingly well, coping with your big girl, twin toddlers and a baby is beyond my comprehension! Roll on dp finishing with the navy!

Scheherezade · 13/01/2012 21:33

We're ok, as soon as dp got home he cheered up! Must be 4month spurt as feeding often and grumpy as he's tired.

MrsHende · 13/01/2012 22:31

I'm glad he cheered up Scheh - it's all such a guessing game isn't it!

Penelope1980 · 13/01/2012 22:31

Is there a 3 month spurt as well? A has gone from waking once a night to three times - it's exhausting!

TallyBear · 13/01/2012 22:34

Wow I can't believe how fast this thread is moving at the moment. This is the first time in days that I've actually managed to have the time to read to the end AND post!

And now I can't remember what has been going on...Grin...

Sassy I can't even imagine doing this with 3 other LOs as well. The fact that you are still sane speaks volumes! Mucho respecto. Bilblio glad you got your car and (most of your) things back. I hope they catch them.

In terms of location, I am another southerner. Raised in Hertfordshire and now live in Wiltshire (same as BB3 I think but the other end).

We're not doing many courses either. Meet up with the NCT girls at least once a week and today Seb and I went to our first baby (

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 13/01/2012 22:35

Yeah breahead facilities are great! Except DS always wants the balloons (lights) down so usually ends up in a tantrum lol. He does love the little tables though with the wire things and wooden blocks that u move around.

So when do Glasgow ladies fancy meeting up then?

GroovyRach · 14/01/2012 00:21

I'm available.. (checks non existent social calendar) anytime Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 14/01/2012 00:36

Pmsl yeah me too!! Well except this Wednesday as meeting with some women I met at BFing group.

GroovyRach · 14/01/2012 00:53

Can't do Monday, have health visitor (I think) coming out to talk to me about S teeth Grin. I dunno, I was tired when she phoned, didn't pick her up right and just agreed. We could meet in costa at braehead, does that suit you ladies? Oh this is exciting Smile
