verso - how are you feeling today? i hope you are having a better day x ((((hugs)))))

to those ladies who are expecting - congratulations X

Verso · 31/03/2006 13:44

Congratulations and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Darcie! :)

Yesterday was ok - had our 'assessment' counselling session. It's going to completely wipe us out financially, but if we end up with a solid marriage I think it will be worth it, won't it? Put it this way, child #2 will have every reason to be grateful we went, because unless we sort stuff out, they won't exist!

(That kind-of made sense in my head...)

Hope everyone has a good weekend and thank you for all your kind messages.

Darciesmum · 31/03/2006 15:26

Verso i'm glad your inital assessment went well
lets hope it continues in that way :)

fransmom · 01/04/2006 11:33

Darciesmum · 04/04/2006 17:35

Hey Girls

Not much happening this end, Darcie is starting to take a few steps on her own, still eating everyone out of house and home lol

fransmom · 05/04/2006 21:45

hi every1! dd took quite a few steps on her own today Grin she wanted to me to hold onto her, so i held the neck of her top very lightly so she could feel my hand on the back of her neck and she was ok with that, kinda like that cheat thing our parents used when teaching us to ride a bike for the 1st time Grin and she bloody well did it!!!!!!!!!!
sorry about language Blush

then when both dp and me in kitchen (with door open), she came in, stood by recycling box and wasn't close enough to it, so she did it again! wow! i'm gobmacked!!!!!!!

aprilmeadow · 06/04/2006 18:47

Jack still has bendy leg syndrome! Will stand on his own for quite a few seconds and then when he realises what he is doing he crumples into a heap and wont do it again!

Getting very excited! Not only is it my birthday next Friday (will be 25)and Jacks in 2.5wks, but 3 weeks today we will be jetting off to Florida to spend 2 weeks in the Animal Kingdon Safari Lodge! Cant wait for the heat/sunshine! Bought Jack some cute sunglasses, a legionaires hat and a SPF50 all in one swim suit.

Doing lots of DIY this weekend, got to make our house look beautiful as we have put it on the market!

Hope everyone is doing well and has a lovely weekend x

AM - Bless Jack its so funny when they do that.
I'd be excited about jetting off to Florida, especially staying in a safari Lodge, should be fun.

Me and Chris were having an interesting conversation last nite, about our wedding and children and how our son will be a Man Utd supporter. not sure about that, still having the discussion about where we will live, i'd like to live near my family and by Chris's family but he wants to go back to where he comes from near littlehampton, i think i won the arguement tho as i said the children will be near his mum & dad who can't wait to have grandchildren and they won't be happy if we take them to far away. hehe

We are going to goodwood racing, so means i have to go shopping to get a posh outfit and shoes, i get to drink champers tho so not all bad lol

Hi All. My dd will be 1 on friday 14th April, and actually I will be 29 aswell. Cant wait til she is about 5 and we can go shoping together on our birthdays.

Anyway lets see....she has two bottom teeth, two top teeth and one coming each side of them. Dribbling for england!! She has been cruising the furniture for months, and loves walking around with her cars and walkers. She has taken a few tentative steps towards my car keys that ive been dangling infront of her, or worringly, her dirty nappy in a pink nappy bag........

The food side of things are more of a pain as she was late going from purees to lumps and scared the life out of me as she wasnt gaining weight. Had a feeling i would be raising a teenager who still has puree at 16. Now its not too bad if i just go with the flow. Rice krispies for breakfast, perhaps a jam sandwich or a jar of something tomatoey for lunch, and again a jar for dinner, with countless yoghurts. Really wish she would eat what we eat.

Going on holiday to Gran Canaria with my sister, her husband, 2 kids (9 & 6) and my mum and dad in 7 weeks, so really stressing about the food and sleep situation now.

Any ideas or advice?

Lucy99 · 09/04/2006 20:20

Just a quickie to say hi to you all, nice to see some new people joining in too! Been really busy at work and moving in a couple of weeks so had no time to check in with you all. Had a quick scan through the messages and glad to hear all the babies are well.

Verso, really sorry to hear you have been having a rubbish time lately, keeping fingers crossed evrything works out for you. DM, glad its all still going well, sounds serious! AM, am v envious, would kill for a holiday at the mo! Is it just the 3 of you going?

F is running around properly now and starting to say a few words. She seems very grown up now, she is tall and has loads of hair so looks about two! What happened to my baby! Makes me want another one actually, but only if the next one sleeps through from birth!

LittleMerlin · 09/04/2006 20:30

My baby is 1 tomorrow! Scanned through the thread and it's lovely to hear how everyone is getting on and how they are all developing. Ryan has 5 teeth, nearly 6. Cruising around a little bit and caught him climbing onto a kiddies chair the other day, but of course then he couldn't get off again! The best thing though is he is finally sleeping through Grin

Verso - hope things get better for you soon. Just hang on in there Smile

aprilmeadow · 10/04/2006 19:34

Happy Birthday to Ryan!!!

Hi Lucy, We are going with my dh's business partner and his dw plus their 10mth old dd plus the her sister, BIL and 2 kids. Should be a laugh.

Jack spent the day with dh today as i had to work and has been walking between the sofa and tv which is a good 4-5 steps. Although he wont do it if he knows you are watching!

Hi all. Took Alana to playgroup today for the first time, and im not sure what i was so worried about. she loved every second of it. She wouldnt leave the slide alone, so dh went out this afternoon and bought her one for her birthday on Friday.

Im throwing a small tea party for her little friends on thursday and I have 12 unders 1's there. I must be MAD.....wheres the tarpauline.!!

kiskidee · 11/04/2006 13:02

Verso, have you been in touch with this organisation? \link{http://www.birthtraumaassociation.org.uk/vol_support.htm\link} I think it can be helpful. I am also intouch with the NCT who also do postnatal support with trauma.

i have no idea what to get my dd for her birthday. I have decided that since we will be in Barcelona next week, a pretty dress from Zara is a good idea - gets me in there looking for big girl's clothes too! Wink She spends her first b-day in Barca.

we went to see some friends on Sunday and one of the first things they said was 'gosh, she looks more like a toddler than a baby already!' (albiet one who is just 19 lbs!)

she eats gobs of weetabix and yoghurts but everything else is hit and miss. still thinks lumps in her food is some sort of cruel trick. She loves complex flavours though. Will have the same pasta sauce I have - but no spagetti. She sucked a gingersnap completely on sunday and i was over the moon.

she is a fairly confident walker. she just measures up her distance and away she goes. does about 10-12 steps sometimes.

she's quite a dummy stealer at nursery though she doesn't know what to do with them once she's stolen them! yesterday she discovered that she can push other kids over. That's it. she's off to karate lessons when she turns 4! She's quite strongwilled so will need to know her boundaries.

sorry long post.

fransmom · 11/04/2006 17:05

she said her first sentence today! dp was off to work and she said (while waving) bye-bye dad (or da!) !!!!!!!!!! proud Grin GrinGrin

DelGirl · 14/04/2006 11:22

Just thought I should do a quick update on dd as she'll be one on Monday. Where did that year go?!

Still has only 2 teeth and no signs of any more at the moment. Will she gummy forever Grin Cruising the furniture and the last couple of days she's been trying to stand on her own. She's into everything and bombs round like a rocket. She has 4 words in her vocabulary, hello, bye bye, baby and mummy but I think i'm probably the only one who really understands her Wink

She really seems to love nursery thankfully and waves me off as soon as we get there and had her 1st proper kiss from one of the boys she knows at jo jingles. It was so sweet and she didn't even bat an eyelid.

Having the family over on her birthday and a few friends popping in so that should be fun. I'm going to attempt to make her a birthday cake. I'm going to do Mars' lemon drizzle cake yummm.

The only other news we have is that she has got kidney reflux, I think that's what they call it, so dd will be on anti b's for a few years I think until she hopefully will grow out of it. I'll no more in a week when we see the paed.

That's all for now.

Happy Birthday to all the April babes and here's to a fun filled, if not exhausting 2nd year....omg, they're growing up too fast.

Verso · 15/04/2006 20:40

Thanks, kiskidee. Yes, I have been in touch with them in the past and they were very helpful.

Well, DD is one year old... where has the time gone?! Actually, I think I know where the time has gone, so I won't wax too philosophical for once Wink. We kept it quite low-key - a few helium balloons and cake etc. Nice though.

Happy Birthday to all the other April babies!
