fransmom · 01/07/2006 22:14

hi ttm, hope you have a nice holiday x

leander, me and verso thought the same a couple of weeks back then i did that bjork thing it's oh so quiet........ it kind of worked at the time

how is everyone today? x fm

Darciesmum · 02/07/2006 19:20

Hi Leander and TTM glad you are all well!

Darcie got a fish tank today! have set it up and will be getting fish for it in the week and she is really excited, when we were looking at them she was shouting Fish across the shop lol!

WishICouldGiveUpWork · 03/07/2006 09:36

Anyone mind if I join in?

Like Trinity-my dd was born on 19.04.05 and is also a monster (well more of a monkey really).

None of my RL friends have children this age so it is great tohear what they are all doing...

Verso · 04/07/2006 05:39

Thread most definitely not killed, leander! I think we all just post a bit less than we did. The fish tank sounds great, dm, and very grown-up somehow.

Anyone else see babies around and get a shock at how small and vulnerable they look compared to our offspring? DD really looks like a toddler now - walking/climbing all over the place (albeit a bit drunkenly and sitting down hard from time to time) and a very thick head of hair.

Do you remember trying to keep them cool and hydrated this time last year? So nice to be able to just slap a sunhat and sunscreen on her and offer her a cup of water from time to time. Much less stressful. She doesn't seem half as fragile now, thank goodness!

Verso · 04/07/2006 05:40

... and hello, 'wishIcould' - sorry, I pressed 'post' instead of 'preview' then. Didn't mean to miss you out!

Darciesmum · 04/07/2006 18:12

Hi Wish i could!!

Verso i know what you mean about thinking offspring def a toddler now compared to new babies.

Darcie is becoming more grown up by the day, which is scary for me as she is more independant especially now she is walking!!

fransmom · 05/07/2006 23:29

hi everyone! babies seem so small now don't they when compared to the size of our toddlers! i saw a 3wk old baby today ad she looked really tiny - i thought surely my dd was never that small? lol i had a nightmare practically every sunny day trying to keep her cool, now it's just a bad dream !!!!! she will only drink water if it's out of one of those sports bottle jobbies and then that's only cos we had the bottle first,(on a daytrip at time) gave her a drink a water out of it then she refused to give it back - we couldn't have a drink of water til she'd fallen asleep. now know to buy more than one!!!!!

fishtank sounds brillant dm!
wishicould, hello! i wish i could give up work too, but circumstances won't allow at moment. better go, i not having good day at mo, see you soon x

leggymamba · 06/07/2006 14:01

Ds won't drink anything unless it's in a sports cup either - he's officially perminantly pinched his sister's pink fairy one!

He's still not walking (too much effort!) only got 4 teeth and only says uh-oh! I think the talking thing comes from being a typical boy and not listening to any one - like his dad!

aprilmeadow · 06/07/2006 19:52

Hi ladies

Been a bit quiet of late as i have been so busy with work and also trying to organise moving house.

Jack is doing really well still, walking loads and we to have now mastered the drinking from sports cup/straw. Still have 10teeth - causing pain at the mo. Talking constantly! Jibberish mainly but does say 'hiya', 'there', 'jack' etc. Gives lovely cuddles and kisses.

DM the fishtank sounds lovely. J loves the tank at nusery.

My bf has a 7mth old ds and he is so small and LIGHT compared to J, i am also off to go and see an old friend on monday who had a dd2 two mths ago, so i am sure that she will be completely diddy. Not that i am in any way broody ! Dh and i have been talking about no.2 and we are just going to let fate decide when the time is right. So i guess it is a 'watch this space'!

Anyone know how Lockets is getting on with her pg?

Darciesmum · 07/07/2006 12:15

Hi AM glad to hear the family is well!

I saw my friends little boy on weds and know what you mean about tiny babies although it does make me broody, but need a house and a man to help with the next one LOL

Darcie has cut 2 more teeth so has 10 teeth now and i think there are more on the way, am looking at potty training her now, she knows what she has to do but its weather she does it or not lol! I'm brought her a potty chart so am going to try and brib her with stickers etc!

leggymamba · 09/07/2006 20:41

DM - you're brave trying to start the dreaded potty now! I waited until dd was 2 (still earlier than most of her friends) - but because she was very very ready - coming to find me to ask to go - it clicked within a couple of days (day and night). If you start too early it will mean that you'll be house bound or have to take piles of clothes with you where ever you go. The next 6 months will fly past and then she'll be asking for the potty rather than you having to ask her - you really will be glad you waited

Darciesmum · 11/07/2006 16:58

Hey Leggy thanx i had a thought over the weekend not going to start as such yet, just going leave the potty around and if she wants to use it she can, not going to push her just yet.

Hope everyone is well?

Verso · 13/07/2006 07:16

Just a quick one to say I'm in the process of being made redundant from work, which is stressful to say the least. Thank God I'm taking antidepressants already because of PND, is all I can say! Work is awful - lots of people going around really upset all the time .

Sorry I always seem to come on here with tales of woe! DD is coming on in leaps and bounds though, so at least that's something! No attempts pottywise here, though, Darciesmum. I can't make my mind up whether you're very brave or very scary to be trying already! Good luck!

Darciesmum · 13/07/2006 11:58

Hi Verso sorry to hear about your job, hope things pick up soon.

I think re potty training is both i think lol

aprilmeadow · 13/07/2006 20:19

Verso, sorry to hear that you are having such a stressful/worrying time at work. Will keep my fingers crossed that you can find a new BETTER job very soon.

Darciesmum · 16/07/2006 17:50

Darcie done her first wee in her potty today.
it was a great moment and she knew it to!!

Darciesmum · 20/07/2006 09:06

I think i killed the thread lol

How is everyone? Darcie hasn't done so well in the heat but is okay.

Knows what to do re the potty and went twice on it yesterday.

leander · 20/07/2006 09:47

Hi all, how are your little ones coping with the heat? Erin aint coping well shes very mardy, god help us we're going away in just over a week she is gonna be a nightmare.Any ideas to keep her amused on the planevbnmb vbxdf sorry that was her contribution.
Verso hope you are feeling ok sorry to hear whats going on.
Darciesmum what a clever little girl yopuve got using a potty already, welldone. When Erins got no nappy on i spend all my time running after her wiping up wee or picking up little ollies

aprilmeadow · 20/07/2006 18:38

Well done DM- you certainly have a very clever dd.

Jack is doing well, loads more words, very chatty much to the amusement of those around him. Not doing too badly in the heat. Tip: freeze a bottle of water and place in front of a fan, really helps keep the room cool.

Started ttc no2. Not going to too excited as i am sure i cant fall pg again as quickly as i did with ds - famous last words!

We have got the Farnborough Airshow on at the moment, and th e planes are almost above our house dh & i love it and Jack is getting better with the noise - has even started waving at them.

Hope you are all keeping well and avoiding melting!!

OP posts:
Darciesmum · 20/07/2006 21:30

Thanx Leander & AM she is a clever girl i think its coz i'm not pushing her to use it!!

Darcie has got 2 more new words at the moment teeth, and sexy lol i think theres another one but can't remember what it is!!

AM bet is good with the airshow over there! i loved going to Southend Airshow!

Verso i hope your okay and things are picking up?

Darciesmum · 23/07/2006 17:45

I've killed the thread i knew it LOL

aprilmeadow · 23/07/2006 20:16

Hi DM - airshow finished today, dh went yesterday and really enjoyed himself although it did pour with rain and he missed some of it, but was only really interested in seeing the Airbus A380...

Took Jack to the beach in Bournemouth yesterday. Went with friends who were camping near by. All the way down there it was lovely sunshine, but as soon as i got off the M27 it started to get cooler, then the closer we got to B'mouth the darker it bacame! At 12.15pm we had car lights on and the street lights were lit!! All of a sudden the heavens opened and it rained like nothing i have seen before. Thunder & lightening (not very good with T&L - hate it!)flooding in the roads!! Managed to find a car parking space undercover and also an empty table in a restaurant - something i thought would be hard to find. Rain stopped by 1.30ish and we were sunbathing and playing in the sea/sand at 2.15pm. First time for J at the beach and it was def a hit!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

kiskidee · 24/07/2006 13:23

on the opening page (only one page) there is the download link. did you try it? It is very simple to use. i use it a lot before i upload my pictures for professional digital printing.

We are fine. dd is one cheeky monkey. no moss growing under her. today at nursery a professional photographer is taking her photos so I am keen to see what those will look like.
