lol@broodiness Grin
They do seem to be v grown-up these days, it's true. DD isn't walking on her own yet, but I reckon it's only a matter of days/weeks... apart from that though she seems quite a little girl these days, rather than a baby, if that makes sense.

I have to say I quite like it! Blush I know some people really enjoy the baby stage, but for me it was just awful - lots of reasons - so I think this stage is great (mini-tantrums and all!)

leggymamba · 15/06/2006 23:20

Hello everyone- never seem to have enough time to write on here though sometimes get to have a look!

Just printing off directions for holiday home in France - first time we've been abroad since kids and not really looking forward to the traveling. Call me a woose (sp!) but will be happy when we get there!

Patricks still only got 4 teeth no signs of any more - stands on his own a lot but not walking (would gues will be a few more weeks yet (using the time to relax before utter chaos starts!). Not even thinking about potty training (he's only just found his bits!) - dd was 2 and a bit and was very ready for it - cracked it in 2 days. Think you have more accidents if you start too early. Still an eating machine though have found something he spits out (feta cheese) - he loves everything from olives to curry wish dd was the same. Still after anything down the loo - hopefully he won't eat anything from there.

well back to packing..........

RubysmumX · 17/06/2006 22:43

Hi all, sorry I haven't been in contact for a while but the computer has been playing up again, grrrr.

These bright evenings and the hot weather is keeping Ruby up much later nowadays, the other night she didn't go to sleep till 10 pm!! I'm taking a relaxed attitude about it though this Summer as we seemed to miss out on so much of it last Summer, and I'm determined to not do the same this year. It just seems easier this year to go out to places of an afternoon/evening with her now rather than when she was a baby.

Ruby is walking full speed ahead now, has 7 teeth (last one didn't seem to cause too much trouble), is a plane spotter, tries to dress herself and wears everything like it's a bib - around her neck that is! Gets her shoes if she wants to go out, but still sticks them and her feet in her mouth if she's in the pushchair. We've gone from having comments like 'isn't she a big/bonny baby' to 'she's like a small doll', I think the whole walking thing has made her seem like a small 2 year old in comparison to her non-walking friends.

I'm loving this stage way more than the baby stage,it's so much fun and less backbreaking. Now that DD is walking my arm muscles have weakened again!

hey all,Can I join, dd2 was born 19th april 05

she is a little monster, into everything, lves to bang doors, eat all her big sisters (5) things

she's adorable and cheeky witha fetish for hair, she pulls mine out and sucks it with her thumb Smile

fransmom · 18/06/2006 16:21

hello trinityrhino! course you can! my dd was born on 26th and likes it when i don't have my hair pulled back, she likes playing with it and luckily doesn't pull it, tho other babies (not mine! i only have one!) have and it was really painful!

verso i agree with you, i find i enjoy her company a lot more now she is talking with me - i might not always understand her although most times her meaning is clear - very clear if she is tired and wants to go to bed. she comes up and lays her head by your lap until you get up and say "do you want to go to bed?" ! she has also learnt to nod her head - it's quite funny, tho i shouldn't laugh - the first time she did it, she was still walking and the two did not go together!!!! Grin

toytownmum, it's not just you Blush both me and dp feeling broody - tho luckily, at the moment, not quite at the same time Grin mother nature can be cruel soemtimes making us forget the pains of childbirth!!!!!!!!

rubysmum lol at neck bibs! i thought dd was the only one that did that! she looked for all the world like someone from the twinset-and-pearls brigade! (no offence intended). Grin

she also had some teeth appear, she's getting quite protective of them now and it's very rare she will let me look, i only managed to check the other night because i put some bonjela on her gums and felt summat then.there was one on each gum bless her, no wonder they were hurting her.front top and bottom, left gum top and bottom and bottom right gum - ouch!

am i the only one sweltering in this weather? much as i like being warm , i can't cope with it too warm! plus the hayfever is a nightmare...!

Verso · 19/06/2006 10:33

Hi there, trinityrhino!

Just a quick note to say DD started walking on her own on Saturday!! :) She did keep getting rather overexcited and sitting down hard on her bottom though, but she was loving it.

Oh and she has been an expert stair climber for some time, but only just made it on to the sofa for the first time at the weekend (it's quite high), and the bookcase, and the CD rack... is this the beginning of the end I wonder? Grin

Darciesmum · 19/06/2006 12:14

Welcome TrinityRhino my DD was born 30/03/05

Verso bet theres not stopping her now!!!
Darcie learnt at the weekend to climb up and down the sofa etc.
I agree about enjoying her more now she is older.

Although help would be appreciated Darcie has got a thing about eating coal at the moment, what can i do to stop her, she has got a very healthy diet and eats plenty of fruit and veg so not sure how to get her out of it, suggestions please....

Darciesmum · 22/06/2006 11:47

Darcie had her first hair cut yesterday, she was so good!

toytownmum · 23/06/2006 22:00

Congratulations on the haircut dm, ds2 will be needing his first haircut real soon and I cant say i'm looking forward to it. - If he continues to put food in it at every opportunity then it may need to be even sooner.

He is currently cutting teeth numbers 15 and 16 so nighttimes can be very long at the moment!!! (sleep - what is sleep??)

fransmom · 23/06/2006 22:12

hi dm, the only thing i canm think of is to distract her with some other foodstuff that she likes and hide the coal on a very high shelf!

dd had her first haircut a while ago but it was a bad experience for me. friend's sister cut it straight fringed - bloomin awful. she used to have a lovely kiss curl that grew out really nce but it hasn't been the same since - i don't think i've recovered from the trauma yet!!!

she has about 11 teeth that she's let me see, there might be more but not entirely certain! lol

talkign about climbing stairs, i was horrified when i found out the cm had let her climb the stairs for ages, hse was sposed to have a stirs gate up but am starting to wonder whether she just said that or not. she has fireguard but it's never up and there is quite a hard hearth there too. soapbox away !

night times are long here too - dp sadi for me to have a a lie in this morning (when he had a late shift last night bless him) dd woke at 6 this morning with absolutley no intention of going back to sleep i didn't roll out of bed til 9am {sheepish grin] lovely lie in tho!

has anyone heard from am?

Darciesmum · 26/06/2006 12:30

Hey all got a very nice fireguard at the weekend, should keep her at bay for now.

Darcie was cheering England on yesterday adn was so funny shouted Goal when it went in.

She has now been put on all the waiting lists for pre-school and mainstream school applications feel like i'm joining the army they are so thick lol!! but all been done now and hopefully she will get into one

fransmom · 27/06/2006 10:58

lol! just about managed to get francesca to put her hands to the side of her face when they missed and say oh no! am i sposed to put her name down at preschool now? she with a childminder cos im a wothm unfortunately, would love to be a sahm so we could have more quality time together but haven't won the lottery yet!!

how is everyone today?

fransmom · 27/06/2006 13:38

forgot to say - my baby(baby no more!) can now climb stairs -aaaaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhh! she can kick a ball in a straight line (hint to certain england players who can't at the moment!) and watching me juggle this morning (well, trying to {sheepish } !) tried to herself! she's got so many teeth coming through she seems to have a permanently snotty nose but she won't let me put any bonjela on her teeth anymore, not sure why.

how's everyone else getting on with teething?!

Darciesmum · 27/06/2006 17:53

Hi FM

I have had to put Darcies name down for school as theres so many children born the same time in my area that school places will be limited

Bless Fran for now climbling the stairs, we have the stairgate shut and Darcie screams coz its now open lol!

Teething is not great as Darcie tends to be mummified and wants to be with me 24-7 so slept in my bed last nite!!

Hope all is well
DM

fransmom · 28/06/2006 09:29

see what you mean by mummified lol fran really cuddly at the moment too. she had quite a fall yesterday - not a bad one - but it really hurt her. her dad got to her first so i let him carry on but once she saw me, she wanted me and no-one else would do kind of thing. bless her. last time i took her into bed cos neither of us were sleeping brilliantly, she had a really excited look on her face, so i had to try and settle her and say look, i'm going to take you back to your own bed and i promise you, you'll be much more comfortable and be able to sleep better. would that work with darcie?

we haven't got a stairgate cos we in ground floor flat, i do remember however having to use a clothes horse to block off the kitchen and boy, was she not happy about that and she let us know about it! am going to have to get one for ther grandads house though, not sure how he'll take it once i mention it to him.

Darciesmum · 28/06/2006 12:29

Hi FM, hope Frans ok after her Fall?

Darcie will sleep in her bed after i've given her a cuddle, coz she know not allowed to sleep in mummys bed!

Been swimming today she wasn't impressed at first but got excited near the end, which is unusal as normally loves swimming

aprilmeadow · 28/06/2006 14:40

Hello - my goodness all the babies are coming on leaps and bounds!!

Jack has 10 teeth - 2 of which are molars. They gave him the most gyp. He is really chatty just lately. His favourite word is 'Diddoi' this is his pet name for Daddy! He follows dh round the house saying 'diddoi, diddoi' to which dh has to respond everytime!! almost as if he is asking him questions. He does say mummy as well but mainly id dh isnt there to ask! Sleeping is definately going a lot better, although he has got into the habit of waking up at 5am and not wanting to go back to sleep!! And the cutest thing by far has to be the amount of kisses and cuddles i am getting. He came into our bed the other morning and just as he was dozing off he must have realised that he hadnt given mummy a kiss, so rolled over and kissed me (he did this 2 futher times)- so cute, i couldnt be mad at him for not being asleep .

Hope everyone is well xx

Congratulations Happybebe

fransmom · 29/06/2006 10:20

hi dm, thanks for asking, she was okay after a few minutes cuddle with me and sat on my lap watching my friend's little boy playing, then joined right in again! she's one tough little lassie she had her last injection yesterday (well, last one for quite a while anyway) you shouldve heard her tell the nurse off for hurting her leg, she was really shouting at her !!!!!!! lol i was more prepared for her crying than that!

am, glad jack coming on ok, not sure how mamy teeth fran has, she rarely lets me look properly and no longer can i cheat by putting bonjela on her sore gums, she got wise to that one i think . little sausage bit my arm yesterday, the marks have only just gone, she hasn't done that for ages.

i was putting the washing out this morning and she did. i was geting bit panicky, then she stuck her head out from behind the wall and said boo! how funny lol

congratulations to happybebe from fm and family xxx

I dont think ive been on here since Erin was born. we were offline for ages.I've been trying to catch up on everyones news but its taking a looonnng time.Erin is just coming up to 14 mths (30/4/05) and is a little terror, always climbing the stairs if we forget to shut the stairgate and into everything.she has got about 11 teeth i think which are a nightmare to clean. She hates going in her pushchair and wants to walk everywhere. she loves the excitement going on around her when the football is on,I've got you'll never walk alone as my ringtone on my phone and when ever it rings she waves her hands in the air and sways from side to side its so cute(or maybe shes brainwashed) Anyway I've rammbled on for too long, Hope everyone is ok.

Hi everyone
We are off on holiday for a couple of weeks to Cornwall, so just thought I would come on to say speak to you all in a few weeks.
I am really looking forward to the break although I have a feeling that it is going to be very busy with the boys DS1 - 2.4yrs and DS2 - 1.2yrs.
Take care TTM xx
