fransmom · 08/05/2006 22:14

thank you x dp not too bad now, dd not too bad either, as long as we can keep her calm when she starts coughing, then she's pretty much ok (to a certain extent). my hv doesn't seem to want to check francesca now she's one plus, i think she was 22lb 3oz and 76cm tall. tall lassie!

how is everyon? not heard from am for a while...

aprilmeadow · 09/05/2006 04:27

Hello everyone...

we are still in sunny florida for a few more days, and as dh has his laptop i thought i would just pop in and say hi.

Weather is fab, and Jack is being really good. He loves seeing all the animals that are outside or bedroom window. His favourite is a Brr (Zebra), but he also likes Gi (Giraffes).

Glad to hear that your dh is home and feeling better Fransmom, but sorry to hear that Fran is having a tough time.

I got Jack weighed on his birthday and he was 23lbs 4oz and 78cm tall. He had nearly trebled his birth weight.

Best get off to bed now i guess as it is half 11 nearly.

Take care xx

HI Am

Glad to hear your having a good holiday.

I'm going to London in a few weeks for the weekend to see Phantom of the Opera.
So really looking forward to that.

FM, howz Fran & DP?

RubysmumX · 10/05/2006 22:43

Hi all. Computer has been on the blink for a while and there's been wires and hard drives all over the place - lucilky DD ignored them but found crawling through the computer tower fun!

Sorry to hear that Fran is poorly.

Would love to be on holiday right now, but enjoying the warm weather here.

Ruby is finally walking. She too some steps on Friday, did two metres on Monday then started walking properly from yesterday.

I'm really enjoying this stage, like you say fm as they are more cheeky but loads of fun. DD seems like a proper little person now who knows her own mind.

We've gone cold turkey with the breastfeeding, ouch! Didn't mean to, it just seemed to work out that way. It's gone well though. Never thought she'd ever give it up but all of a sudden she seemed happy to fall back to sleep with a cuddle or a pat on the back so the time felt right.

I'm intending to run an arts and crafts session soon at a local library but I'm worrying slightly as have never really done anything like this before. It will be with preschoolers and it should be fun but I will have to try and get a stock of craft materials together.

night x

fransmom · 12/05/2006 09:45

i forgot you were on hols am! Blush hope you having nice time.

dd feeling lot better now, few new words - later (or late-a, when i say to her "say, see you later!), bye-bye, nice, and (this morning) night-night aahhhh! she has said birdy and eeee for doggie

dp ok -he said thanx.
it's just me with pnd now Sad don't feel too bad at mo but bit wary.

rubysmum wow to ruby!!!!!!!
i went clod turkey too. luckily fran took to bf straight away but when i asked dp to do night feeds, she started sleeping through didn't she?!
apparently the best thing for engorged boobs is paracetamol, well meaning hv(not sure in light of recent events) said that taking baths to ease pain just stimulated more milk. hope things work better for you rm x

ladies, our moms lied to us! there is an ou course to understanding children cos i just posted an application form (well it's sitting on the mantlepiece waiting to be postedBlush) for it so i'm finally going to uni!! (hopefully!)
bfn

Darciesmum · 16/05/2006 17:24

Hi ALL

we are good darcie has taken a few steps but still not that confident about walkin on her own yet!

Other than that we are all good

Hope everyone else is well

RubysmumX · 16/05/2006 22:31

hi DM. What I did with Ruby was to take her to the park with her indoor stroller loads before she could walk on her own and I think that gave her the strenght and confidence to go it alone. Although I do really believe that they do it at their own pace - I've seen Ruby have a really long nap and then all of a sudden can do all kinds of new things (see these as her developmental naps!)

aprilmeadow · 17/05/2006 16:12

Hello everyone,

Got back from my holiday on Sunday am! Totally knackered, but had a fab time. It was so lovely to be able to spend 2 weeks with DH and Jack. He has come on soo much it's unbelievable. He has so many words.. "Brr" = Zebra, "Look", "Bird", 'Duck". He has been saying mama or mum for most of the holiday which is lovely because i normally just get that when he is crying! He is walking all by himself now. Dh is wondering where we left our little baby! He seems to just do it without thinking - he knows he is so clever, because he has a little grin on his face Grin.

I hope everyone is well

Hi AM so glad to hear you had a good Holiday, it seems to have doen Jack the world of good, developmentally :)

I'm counting down for my weekend away to London the 10th June going to see Phantom of the Opera and i can't wait!

Darcie took a few steps for my best mates fiance yesterday but nothing for the rest of us, little moomin!!!

Theres an update pic of her in members profile

fransmom · 18/05/2006 09:58

hi dm have just seen your new pic, she's gorgeous! hope you have a lovely time in london x

am, am glad you had good holiday and that jack had good time2 by the sound of it!

wel ladies, i had my op yesterday and didn't have to have stitches - yay!

Darciesmum · 18/05/2006 11:15

Hi FM thanx :)

How did your op go?
How DP and Fran?

fransmom · 18/05/2006 18:57

hi dm not too bad - thanx4asking.my op was in morning so i couldn't eat after 12midnight and by the time i had got up and ready cos i was nervous so i was trying to put it off(!), it was too late for to even have a drink of water. i was first on list, not too bad cos i wanted it over and done with so i could go home early! Grin(can't stand being in hospital) anyway. i remember being wheeled into the theatre but the next thing i know, i am shaking (effects of anaesthetic gases apparently) and asking them if they had done it already because i didn't remember falling asleep! i had to ask them several times if they were sure that they had done it !!!!!!!! i think i even asked the recovery/theatre nurse at one point. didn't even have to have stitches - which i really didn't want. recovering nicely at home, have been to town for some fresh air, shouldn't have done really cos now i'm shattered!

hows you keeping?

fransmom · 18/05/2006 19:02

dp being pain in backside a bit, after walk in town, we went in game shop and i told him i was getting tired cos i knew otherwise we would be in there a longer time than i wanted to be anywhere, i just wanted to go home and sleep. he had a tantrum! he's 43 fgs and he swept put the shop pouting better than my dd did later on today!

fran ok, tho she has horrendous napy rash, there's something that looks like burst blisters on the inside of her legs, right at the top. so taking her back to docs 2moro - again. dp had phone consultation with doc about her bad nappy rash - he(the doc) managed to diagnose thrush -without even seeing her!!!!!!!!!!

Darciesmum · 19/05/2006 11:34

Hi FM, glad your op went ok. Sorry to hear your DP is being a pain in the bum.
And how can a doc diagnose something without seeing her!

I;ve put darcies new pic on members profiles!

fransmom · 20/05/2006 22:56

thanks dm. tho i have done far too much walking about yesterday and day before so haven't healed as quick as i shouldve Blush so dp put me on complete rest today and i feel a lot better now ta chuck! x bless him i haven't had to lift a finger all day except complain of boredom!!!!! Grin fran seems to be getting a lot better tho, i think it was more a case of severe nappy rash, poor mite had blisters. i can't understand how she gets it, we've done everything right - is it just one of those things? couldn't get her in.

fransmom · 20/05/2006 22:59

just seen your pic dm. sorry about your aunty x cute wee lass x

Darciesmum · 22/05/2006 08:20

Thanx FM,

Darcie gets really bad nappy rash when she cuts teeth, but not as severe as fran tho!

happybebe · 22/05/2006 13:25

hello can i join the club! i have a DD born 04/04/05 and am due another in just six weeks.

i just put up a post about talking as i wondered how much one year old should be able to say, my DD at present says mum, dad, all gone and hello lol and gabbles away in her little baby language! is that quite normal for this age?

i just had DD's third immunisations done today as she was quite ill in her first year still trying to decide about the MMRS.

my DD was always a quick learner, she started to walk unaided at nine months, i was really sad actually as she just seemed to grow so quickly.

recently she has begun to totally self feed using a spoon which i am delighted by as it means i wil be able to concentrate on new babies feeding more.

i am wondering how she will react to having a new baby in the house, she is quite possessive with daddy, will certainly be a strange time for her! :)

Darciesmum · 22/05/2006 17:22

Welcome Happybebe

your DD b/day was my DD due date but she decided to make an early apperance.

Darcie says allsorts of words but unlike your clever, my Daughter still isn't walking yet, i;ve caught her taking a few steps when no ones around but just will not walk all the time. as she is just lazy lol.

R u excited about the impending arrival?

happybebe · 22/05/2006 18:51

hello darciesmum :) i love the name!

one of my DH's cousins baby is 20 months old and she still isnt walking lol, prefers to cruise on the sofa, actually prefered it when DD wasnt walking as she was much easier to manage.

can i be honest and say i am more nervous than excited about my second daughters arrival, i have only recently felt settled and sorted with summer (DD1) and this wil disrupt everything, but i know we will all be fine after a while! :) xx

Darciesmum · 22/05/2006 19:47

Hi HB

20 months and i thought Darcie was bad at 13 months lol

Is Summer looking forward to her sisters arrival?
And have you decided on a name yet?

happybebe · 23/05/2006 13:02

i think i will call this little girl 'elsie' after my gran, i originally wanted ebony but DH is quite stuck on elsie.

i dont think summer is really aware there is going to be another baby lol, she pats my stomach butnly because i pat hers!

am so very nervous about giving birth again though and i had a good labour with summer no stitches and small dose of pethidine, 10 hours. its just such a huge experience! :) xx

Darciesmum · 23/05/2006 13:05

HI HB

I was 10hrs with Darcie and Gas&Air and pethidine 3 hrs b4 she was born! absolute madness it was.

It wouldn't bother me giving birth again, especially as she was so good!

happybebe · 24/05/2006 09:01

lol youre a braver woman than i! i think my pethindine was about four hours before, but i remember when i was actually pushing summer out thinking this Gas and AIr is rubbish and as for this pethidine.... think it may have worn off!

i guess its the unpredicability, not knowing how long and if it will go smoothly! think positive! :) xx
