Happy birtday to all babies :)

Well we have had an eventful weekend, friday nite put darcie to bed about 7:30pm and by 8pm she was up and screaming, 10pm came and she was still screaming, she had high temp, few spots on her belly and you just couldn't comfort her. i actually thought sh ehad meningitis, called NHS Direct first and they got the out of hours Dr to me, by the time he heard from him about 10:30pm darcie had fallen asleep, but he was happy with the way she was, and was advised if she started again then was to call 999 and to get her to a&e.
She wasn't herself over the weekend took her to the GP on monday and turns out she has got a bad virus, and to give plenty of fluid etc. so she is gradually getting better, after the panic over the weekend.

Then Saturday my 2 cousins and James one of their boyfriends, was in a bad car crash, a car went storming up the road crashed into them and they careered into a pole, whilst the other car drove off. the car is a write off. the whole front end was crushed. They all have whiplash, Bev has badly bruised kidneys, and trauma rash. Kirsty also had irregular heart beat, and bruised kidneys and James hurt his side. the driver of the car was found he said one of the girls was driving even tho don't have full licences, also there were 4 eye witnesses, so the police took him in for questioning and lying about what happened.

So a very eventfull weekend, just looking forward to the bank holiday now, noce and relaxing!

aprilmeadow · 26/04/2006 15:29

Thanx AM i think tiredness is starting to set in LOL

RubysmumX · 26/04/2006 22:35

Happy Birthday Fran from us!

Shame reaction - OMG! How horrible, really hope they recover quickly. A friend of mine's car was careered into by a lorry recently and they have wear a back brace for a while.

Bought Ruby a tricycle today with her birthday money, did think at first that it might be a little old for her as she is only just getting to grips with cruising and balance, but she loved it when we let have a go on it at home this evening. Can't wait to take it to the park tomorrow. I can see I won't be getting her back into a buggy this Summer!

fransmom · 27/04/2006 21:58

thanks for fran x
dm i am so sorry to hear about your family, i hope they feel better soon. it seems like neither of us have had a good week.
dp felt ill at work on ot, sat a.m. came home went straight to bed, even asked for bucket - unusual for him. called nhs/d (nhs direct)or out-of hours (ooh) surgery who sent doc who just said it's viral gastroenteritis, or vg, better in morning, didn't take temp or breathing, just felt his stomach. not better in a.m. 2nd nhsd doc next night, said same thing, but checked tempo and lungs. he said "you're temp is slightly up, and you've a few crackles in your lung. you'll feel better in morning". not better. phoned ooh docs again, didn't send doc out but wanted dp to drive (he's only one who can drive) all way into weston general to pick up somne anti-sickness tabs.!!! Angry he can't even keep water down and they want him to drive ffs!!!!!!!!!! anyway, his friend fetched them. they didn't work. now bearing in miind i'd told them his previous health history, not one checked him for it. following morning when he'd been ill for nearly four days, i thought that something wasn't right, so i phoned nhsd again and by extreme chance i spoke straight to nurse. told her his history (previous pneumonia)and his current symptoms, the first thing she asked was "what's he breathing like?" rapid and pale lips. the second thing (well, almost) was would you like me to call an ambulance? someone is finally listening. he's only ended up in the general for a week, possibly plus (less if he's really really really lucky) with severe pneumonia. he also has jaundice, liver and kidney probs, tonight he is in bad pain. Sad so i phoned nhsd and put very big bee in their bonnets. steaming Angry i understand that they're human and make mistakes, but when i've told them his history and nothing's wotrking at getting his temp down, it's his LIFE ffs

sorry about long hijack post btw

fransmom · 29/04/2006 21:56

'm sorry rubysmum did ruby have a lovely birthday?

RubysmumX · 30/04/2006 03:59

Hope DP is better and well enough to come home today - sorry to hear he was so ill Fransmom.

Can't sleep. Ruby still wakes loads for feeds during the night and sometimes I just can't get back off to sleep again, grrr.

I was a bit lax on arranging anything special on the day as we'd had a little gathering on Monday with 5 of her friends. On the actual day she had a little indoor picnic with her best friend followed by being sung to at Music Makers.

Ruby has been out loads on her new tricycle, which she loves. Problem is, she can really recognise the playground now and tries to make a beeline for it - luckily she can't reach the pedals yet though, otherwise I'd never be able to push her past!

fransmom · 30/04/2006 14:50

thanx rm. yes, he's coming home today, he just waiting for some ab's (which taste vile as i recall - i had to have the same ones a few years ago! haven't told him yet thgouh Grin)

still sounds like she had a nice day though. it doesn't mater how many people are there to help celebrate (eat your food, make mess for you to clear......Grin) what really counts is that she had a good day, which she did by the sound of things. i been thinking about getting fran a push along bike but they're all so expensive

Darciesmum · 02/05/2006 18:02

Darcie is coming down with a cold now, but i'm pretty sure its down to teething again.

For the last 2 nites shes been waking up about 2am and getting into bed with me, which i'll never allow her to get used to that, but she never wakes in the nite usually but don't want her to get used to it all the same.!!!

FM howz your DP?

DM
x

fransmom · 03/05/2006 21:54

he must be getting better, he's irritating the hell out of me now Grin someitmes he does take the p put of things. he should try resting, he might get better quicker instead of tiring himself out all the time. thanx for asking. fran has cold with teething2. awful for them isn't it?

Darciesmum · 04/05/2006 10:59

Darcie slept all nite last nite, didn't hear a peep out of her it was so nice.

FM glad to hear your DP is getting better, even tho he is Irritating the hell out of you!

fransmom · 04/05/2006 22:29

brilliant! bet you hardly slept tho (small whisper - if you did what's your secret?Grin) when lo has bad cough then sleeps through the next night, i find i keep waking at slightest stirring!

Darciesmum · 06/05/2006 15:38

Hi FM

yeah hardly slept but she is going through the nite still so not to worried now!
How is your DP?

Hope everyone else is well

fransmom · 07/05/2006 20:25

hi dm,he's getting alot better now thanx. only thing is, dd now has mild croup. Sad she already on ab's because she had a cough that wouldn't go and runny nose. docs weren't sure what it was, it was only cos i read a m+b mag (or bbc parenting) and the symptoms exactly the same that i took her to gp clinic tonight and doc agreed with me (makes a change Grin). just have to keep eye on her for now. thanks for asking.

hows darcie?

all our babies are 1 Smile i thought it mite be sad her getting older but now she toddling and being cheeky with it, it's funny in a good way. what does everyone else think?

(((((hugs)))))
