HEYBABY, my dd is also always sucking on something, i just give her a rattle or a teething ring and she's happy enough. is he your 1st child? whats his name?

HeyBaby · 07/01/2006 18:00

Hi Bubs - would prefer not to mention his name online .... never know what psychos might be listening in on an open chatroom .... not that you're one of them or anything .... he he he . We used to call him Jnr before he was born though!

The teething rings and other teething toys that I give to Jnr are fine but he doesn't seem to have the co-ordination to keep them in his mouth. I am currently looking for one that might be easier but in the meantime I guess his hands will have to suffice ....

Cabe · 07/01/2006 23:22

Heybaby - welcome to the tread!
My ds is absorbed by chewing on a muslin - no problems with him having to coordinate his hands with that!

mummyhill · 08/01/2006 07:41

Welcome heybaby.

Cabe - did you get your car fixed? Yjere is a new meet up thread for midlands parents for a weekend session at a Wacky if you are interested. If not how about just getting together for a coffee again soon.

LadyLazarus · 08/01/2006 08:36

Woo hoo! Just wanted to announce that I've lost 5lbs in a week on the joyous Special K thing Gah! Only another 23lbs to go hehe

mummyhill · 08/01/2006 09:52

WELL DONE LadyL. I am starting Monday, now that my health is a bit better. Keep up the good work.

HeyBaby · 08/01/2006 11:53

Don't know about you guys, but the weight thing doesn't seem to be the big issue for me (although I too have some lb to lose, don't get me wrong!). For me, it is more a major change in my body shape from a pear to PEAR(!) but this time with big boobs! I went from a B to a D/DD!

I bought an exercise DVD by Deborah Mackin which has been pretty good but not much cardio - mainly toning. I can't afford to join the ridiculously priced gym near my place so I have been doing the DVD (only occasionally, I'll admit) and then going for relatively long walks with the pram. All seems to be to little avail as my measurements haven't changed and my old clothes still don't fit! ARGH!

Call me Trinny (ha ha) but my old clothes were meant to suit my old body shape so my wardrobe (well, those few items I can actually fit into now ...) isn't flattering for the post-pregnancy me. Sigh! All I can say is that I better be able to fit into my workclothes before I go back (haven't decided when - probably sometime mid-year) coz I can't afford a new wardrobe!

LadyL - just wondering about the Special K thing and breastfeeding. Is there any affect on nutrients for baby etc?

HeyBaby · 08/01/2006 11:55

Sorry - meant to say thanks as well for welcoming to the thread - v kind of you all. And thanks Cabe - will try the muslin cloth thing!

LadyLazarus · 08/01/2006 12:25

Not sure about the dieting thing and breastfeeding, as I stopped breastfeeding ages ago (not through choice!)...

Simplyred · 08/01/2006 13:42

Hello HeyBaby

Well done with the diet Lady L.

I get weighed on Tuesday!!!

PiccadillyCircus · 08/01/2006 13:44

Hello everyone .

It is very grey here. DH and DS have gone off to Milton Keynes to look for a bike for DH. Alice and I are avoiding the tidying

PiccadillyCircus · 08/01/2006 13:45

DH was very lovely this morning - ;et me sleep until 11 and did all the ironing

ja9 · 08/01/2006 13:53

Oh my goodness!!!

I just can't believe that this thread has started!! I was on Sept 04, and it honestly feels about 6 months ago..

BIG CONGRATULATIONS everyone. Wishing you happy, healthy pregnancies!

ja9 · 08/01/2006 13:54

oops! [blush} erm wrong thread!

ja9 · 08/01/2006 13:54

rather

i'm on top form today!

PiccadillyCircus · 08/01/2006 14:40

Well as far as I know none of us is pregnant at the moment

Cabe · 09/01/2006 00:39

Oh lordy me PC. I'm eager to have another wee one but perhaps not just yet! - your lovely dh I wish some elf-like helpy person would do mine, does he have an hourly rate?? - I had my brother stopping over with his wife and family last night for the surprise party her dh and I organised for my Sister's 40th... have to admit to stowing the un-ironed laundry under my bed to make me appear a little more on top of things... has someone secretly deducted about 3hours from each day - whizz - there goes one - whizz whizz - there goes another!!! Where did the weekend go????

Mummyhill - I'd love to meet for coffee again, I'll e-mail you... dp's set up an MSN account for me so it should be much more reliable he's also got me a webcam... interesting as he knows I hate even having my photo taken... the thought of my toothy fizzog on a screen does nothing for me!

Hello everyone else! hope your weekends have been good and a little more sedate than mine... big hugs to all the littlies xx

milward · 09/01/2006 09:14

Hello All - dentist today!! hope ds sleeps through my appointment - please..please..

On the preg front - Would love another one!! I'm bf on demand at the mo so would have to cut down on this to get cycle back to conceive. Have age against me so am thinking that I'll have to reduce bf this year to have chance of having another little one. Previously my cycle has only come back at 18 months.

Hello and belated Happy New Year to All!!!!
Sorry not been posting - DH had 2 weeks off over Christmas and been working from home since so what little routine we had has gone out the window - don't seem to have time to do anything. Plus the girls are both very unsettled - they still think it's Christmas with Daddy at home everyday. Know EXACTLY what you mean cabe about someone stealing the hours in the day.
So hope everyone had a lurvely first christmas and new year.
Been a little upset this am - DD1 turns 2 at the end of the month and has gone up into the "nippers" room in the nursery. Cries when I drop her off as she has left behind the lovely nursery nurses that she has known since she was 6mhs old . Naughty mummy for making her go to nursery! Don't know whether I'm upset because she is or because it means that she's growing up! Still only her 2nd day there so hopefully things will get better.
at your neighbours, Bubbles, how unsettling is that??? Though I suppose at least you know ther's nothing suspicious about it. Hope all settles back down again very soon.
Milward and rhumba - I'm going to try potty training with DD1 at the end of the month - after her birthday. Most people tell me that it's better to do it in the summer when they can run around wothout clothes on but she seems pretty aware of the potty and is obviously uncomfortable when she's done a poo or wee so we'll give it a go and see what happens...
Congrats on your column LadyL - wow how cool is that? Really admire you for writing with a tiny tot. I can hardly concentrate on MN, never mind anything else!
Off for Abigails 2nd imms this am. Last ones didn't bother her a t all so fingers crossed...
Jaydeelady - hope things pick up soon.
Welcome to Heybaby and welcome back KF!

PiccadillyCircus · 09/01/2006 10:15

Hope dentist is OK milward - I need to make an appointment but seem to be putting it off.

Alice and I are off to the library to return all thbe overdue books I can find . Also going to get a passport photo for her as she, DH and I are going to Barcelona in mid February . DS is staying with his grandparents - it will feel a bit odd as I've only been away fron him one night so far.

Jaamy, DS has just moved up a room at nursery (he's a seahorse now) and is a bit unhappy when left. I felt guilty dropping him off this morning, leaving to the cries of "mummy cuddle" is hard. But he does enjoy t there. How often does your DD1 go? DS goes on Mondays and \wednesdays.

I am putting off leaving the house again. Really must go

Simplyred · 09/01/2006 10:25

Morning!

Glad no one pregnant just yet! And PC - I want to go to Barcelona!

PiccadillyCircus · 09/01/2006 10:27
