Hello everyone!!

Evening everyone!

Well, I've watched the news and no mention of Borg at all Hmm, maybe she's a high court judge?

ledkr ouch to the smear, glad all was okay re blood tests though. When I had my coil removed recently the doc couldn't find my cervix and then said it was like playing that fishing game with magnets on the rods when you were a child trying to get the flippin thing out!

Hubbard glad you feel better today, I know nothing can take away the pain but your dad will be looking down at you full of pride when you get married.

deadka how's your mum? X

ems I understand the grieving for your dad well, I cut him out of my life properly (as he wasnt really in it iyswim) a few months ago and still get the odd pang now and then but it's a long and complicated story and he's a horrid man.

reastie b is still going through a fussy stage with food and only really likes the properly pureed to a liquid stuff and cubes of cheese, have been giving him cheese and egg sandwiches which he likes to throw about and he will not have puddings at all (weird child). Have decided to get a bit tougher though and he's going to have a proper dinner (well baked beans, sausages and potato Grin) this week!

Love all the mobile baby stories but Shock at the double buggy story wiggles. B is still looking like he's just about to crawl then going into the parachutist position and crying Confused

Hope all babies sleep well tonight for all our sakes!

ILovePonyo · 18/10/2011 19:42

emski glad nursery went well, yay! Did you see that I underpriced a bunch of stuff and ebay and basically some lucky gits got some bargains from me, grr, live and learn eh.

ledkr glad all went well for you today, what a relief I imagine.

Borg have you said what court is about or am I right in thinking you can't say?! Hope all goes well anyway.

A has been very good with her food today, ate a load of cod and spinach for tea then a whole petit filous and some snacks Shock her tummy was massive when she went to bed Grin

Has deb been back on Hope she is alright.

Going to go b'cos dp is cooking curry and the onions are making my eyes sting, poor old me eh having my tea cooked and then moaning about it Wink Grin

deadka · 18/10/2011 20:54

Hi all, sorry to be AWOL for ages, bloody kids!

So, my mum's results were brilliant- I was all set for this to be her last Christmas, but there is no cancer anywhere except in her rib, which is the original site, and that is flaring up at the moment which explains the pain. No recurrence in her lung. So all fantastic, another scan after Christmas. I am so relieved as you can imagine.

AND I lost SIX POUNDS this week at SW!!!! I am like this Grin, except I have a cold so I think I'll take some Night Nurse and go to bed.

fab news deb xx good night sleep now

tadjennyp · 18/10/2011 21:01

Great news Deb! xxx

ILovePonyo · 18/10/2011 21:07

deb that is fantastic, really pleased for you. SW seems to be a winner too, might have to look into that myself... (after this week as I am due on and eating crap Grin)

Can I just say that I never get id'd for alcohol anymore which is a bit depressing, I always used to in the supermarket but I clearly look my age now as I've not been asked for ages :(

ReastieHorrorShow · 18/10/2011 21:12

Just popped on to see if any news from deb . That's fab news Grin . So pleased. Fab news re: 6 lbs too - is that a stone yet? Envy

Re: sw/fat fighters I was talking to dh tonight about my fat fighters and how I'm finding it more depressing and frustrating than useful. I'm debating whether to use the time DM will look after Alice for going to FF to go to an excercise class or a big gym session, which would be better than a half hour session with FF. I also find the weigh ins so soul destroying when I don't lose any darn weight - it just knocks my confidence even more.

wigglesrock · 18/10/2011 21:12

debka brilliant news about your Mum xxx, and well done on the continuing weight loss you skinnymalink Grin

Re: Christmas presents - our local toy shop had some really good bits and pieces in today, so Mr W insisted that we get Olivias main Santa present as well as her birtjday present, he avoids all shops apart from the off license and Chinese takeaway during December Grin. I also picked up 2 for £15 Disney film from HMV last week for the girls and I have a Playmobile set put away that I bought for £5 in the sale last year, and to think you all scoffed at my emergency present drawer last year Grin

janedoe25 · 18/10/2011 21:38

deadka fantastic news about your mum, and well done you with the loss!

MN has been full of good news today, the woman from the other thread safely delivered her daughter this morning at 10lb 5oz at 37 weeks! Shock

I was out at makro with df buying wedding favour treats ( we are just making up bags of sweeties 10p mix-up style). The till operator called df a big fairy, I thought he was going to hit him!

ReastieHorrorShow · 18/10/2011 21:53

wow, jane 10lbs5 at just 37 weeks Shock . I'm so glad things went well for her though. Hmm to big fairy comment. That's a bit random unless he was wearing sparkly wings and a tutu

wigglesrock · 18/10/2011 22:05

jane that's really lovely news, my cousin had twins at the end of last week and both of them were well over 6lbs at 37 weeks, the little boy was actually 7lbs which was heavier than Sofia was at birth and she was a week late Shock.

janedoe25 · 18/10/2011 22:32

Wow at your cousins twins wiggles such good weights!

reastie I think it was because I sent df off to get another box of sweets with a barcode (as we were missing one) and he was slagging df off for doing as he was told Grin. The wings and tutus are stricly bedroom wear only.

Grannyapple · 18/10/2011 23:29

Hi folks

deb fab news re: ur mum, what a relief!

bledkr glad smear all over & done with...I had one today too (yuk!)

jane fab news re: new arrival...bib bubba Grin

hubbard it is hard when you lose a patent..& takes a whole lot longer than you can imagine to get over their passing (do you ever really?). I remember registering with acidic when we moved down south & after asking about family history (both parents died in their late 40's, 15 months apart) I started crying...this was a good 10 years ago & a good 6 years after their deaths. I came home & told dh (who was great, as always) but I think it took until then for me to get over it...everyone is different & recent events in our lives with the arrival of our bubbas mean rgey're never far from our thoughts...all perfectly normal.

I've recorded Kim k wedding but have yet to watch ur...ta for the emotional heads up tho...will be watching that in my own he thinks!

reastie was itc Rachel? Hoping it wasn't Daska...she only had her 2nd baby 3 weeks ago!

Nate's first settling in session tomorrow....hmmm.

Grannyapple · 18/10/2011 23:31

New iPhone...hard when you lies a parent & registered with a new dic...bit acidic....grr

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 06:40

granny don't know what her name was but she had short dark hair and a very loud voice

chocoBOO · 19/10/2011 09:20

Morning

deadka Such fab news for your mum, I'm really chuffed for you. Not to mention your massive weight loss, how awesome are you?!

mizk Hope Katy B was fab. You see, you go and see all the new acts, I am clearly stuck in 1996! I just found out that Ash are doing a signing in HMV before the gig so am thinking of channeling my 16 year old self and going down.

tad I got R an awesome ha.t. It would probably even do for one of your winters!

reastie If you're not finding fat fighters helpful then use the time to do something you do think will help. A class sounds like a good idea. I think it's just as important for you to get some time off tbh.

jane I'm laughing at your big fairy DF. I have my suspicions that he is defintely not a big fairy at all! Is he still offended?! Good to hear your friend's happy news too. Must be such a relief.

granny good luck with the nursery session! He'll love it.

Right. Baby sensory day here then a walk round the park with NCT people. First though, I'm caching up with Don't Tell The Bride....

WeAreBorg · 19/10/2011 10:21

Another day, another failure to nap from my son. Ho hum.

debka great news, so pleased for you and your mum.

I have been chortling at your suggestions for my being at court. Well I haven't been sent down, they'll never get meeeee!

ponyo I am distraught about not getting ID any more as well, they don't even look now, just wave through the DOB not needed bit as I hopefully clutch my driving license. Sob.

delia I have been thinking about this and please please please keep doing your pretend swearing, it's one of my favourite running jokes on this thread.

Sorry need to go, N whinging but doesn't want to sleep or actually do anything, his noise is annoying me. Hello to everyone else, I did read through everything last night but stupid internet connection wouldn't let me post.

ILovePonyo · 19/10/2011 10:41

Morning, a night of wakings last night then I couldn't get back to sleep at 4.30, very annoying I usually love my sleep Hmm I also found that one of the bloody cats had sicked everywhere this monring including on the rug, yuck :(

Don't know if A is maybe teething, her cheeks are v rosy and she was awake and crying quite a bit last night? She is chewing everything in sight but thats nothing new Grin

Borg oh dear to the no napping, I used to be able to rock dd to sleep but that doesn't work anymore, I either have to let her cry herself to sleep or hope she drops of nicely herself Hmm Good luck, and I'm glad its not just me feeling old Wink

choco where did you get your hat from? dd also has a big head (takes after both me and her dad Grin) but she also pulls off any hats I put on her.

granny Grin at your iphone and good luck for the settling in session, how long is it?

jane how ,lovely about the lady that had her baby safely, I am Shock at the weight at 37 weeks!

dd looks very cute today, I have got her in tights for the first time, and a little dress too (of course) half price in Sainsbobs :)

Deliaskis · 19/10/2011 11:06

Hi ladies,

Well I too have my very own poorly baby at the mo. She had a bit of a cold Sunday-Monday and then yesterday a bit off her food, then sick in the night and runny bum again. She's quite perky in herself tho, but still grrrr, it seems like we only just got over the last lot Sad. Since I went back to work, she's had three lots of illness grrrr!

Deb really pleased to hear about your Mum, what a relief!

Borg lol that it is days since I mentioned pretend swearing and now you plead for me to continue! Just to please you, I will, but not on this post. There is nothing worse than gratuitous pretend swearing.

reastie I think you know the answer re drs, if you were truly fine, then the thought of making the apt wouldn't upset you.

Everyone else have a nice day.

Dx

wigglesrock · 19/10/2011 11:27

deliaskis A isn't well at the minute, she sounds a bit like C Sad

reastie I think Anna has a sore throat, she's hoarse and seems to be in pain periodically but no temp, didn't Alice have a sore throat a while back? What did you do for her? Ps agree completely with what D said re doctors x

Another big headed baby here Grin and I can't get A to keep bibs on, just as well she's not eating that much!

Bledkr · 19/10/2011 12:54

reastie Off you trot to the Drs. If i can have my smear then you certainly go and talk.
Dill has had a sore throat i think cos was hoarse and grumpy then i got it too. She's a bit better now, woke inexplicably at 11 had some milk then back off till 7am so much better.
I took them both to singing group today, cos its half term i made it clear to Ella she sould be sitting on the floor so the Mummies could sit down,I was amazed at the amount of younger kids that were allowed to take up chairs whilst adults had to stand holding babies. Is it my age or is that wrong?

Felt a bit irritaed when got back as dh was sta on his arse in front of the pc still in his dressing gown at 12.House exactly how id left it grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. He soon moved when i started slemming about tidying up aggressively Grin

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 14:02

hi all,

Just a quickie as so much to do - am feeling mucho bogged down at the min.

I am Shock at my work - they are trying to change my date of return to january not december (so I don't get paid the christmas hols) in a very sneaky fashion. Have spoken to my union about it and they heard the name of the company that owns the school I work for (it's a private school) and they didn't seem surprised they were trying it on Hmm . Something else I don't need to deal with! Rant over.

Went to fat fighters this morning . I've only put on weight Blush . the lady running it gave me this evil glare and a 'my goodness you haven't lose any weight since we started' comment. I wanted to curl up and hide in the corner. I'm thinking of using the time to do an exercise class instead. Not even any funny stories from the odd ones today either. They were all quite friendly and nice to me probably taking pity on the fat one who doesn't lose any weight . I'm starting to wonder whether to just give up on worrying to lose weight until I stop feeding and concentrate more on just eating better and doing a bit of exercise for health reasons without the pressue and see if that works, as I can't feel lower than I do now and this isn't the kind of thing that helps me work harder.

Will catch up better later I promise

Deliaskis · 19/10/2011 14:16

Aww reastie try not to let the FF get you down. I know you probably feel that losing weight will help you feel better generally, but I think you might be right that at the moment this is just putting more pressure on you. I think a more 'holistic' approach might be good, as in eating well, a general healthy balanced diet, only putting nice things in your body, because that's what it deserves (and that doesn't mean you can't have a treat now and then), and doing exercise is obv good for your long term health but also usually makes you feel better straight away as well. That way you can be confident you are doing better, but doing it for yourself, and won't be putting more pressure on yourself, esp while feeding as that is really in general terms going to be a very short period of your adult life overall, and you really do need to make allowances for it and really...not be so hard on yourself - those dresses looked fab on you BTW Smile.

Gawd sorry I went on a bit there didn't I?

Ledkr Shock that is v wrong I agree.

wiggles [sigh of solidarity] sorry A is poorly too, it's cr@p (specially for Borg ) isn't it?

Dx

wigglesrock · 19/10/2011 14:16

reastie poor you at fat fighters, you're right, why don't you use the ffighting time to go for a big walk, a swim or something to make you feel better.

Right young lady, no pussy footing about here - get union onto work, you know poor working practices are my bug bear. Get an e-mail off pronto, nice friendly one, reminding them of your return date and see what happens.

ledkr my other bug bear is children sitting while adults are standing, this is one of the reasons Sofias gymnastics class irritates me, well that and the sheer worthiness of some of the other parents Grin I mean my own parents made us sit on the floor at home, if they wanted to snuggle up on the sofa (yuk, yuk, yukky Grin)

deadka · 19/10/2011 14:18

reastie you poor thing, I think you should kick fat fighters to the kerb, you're obviously not ready to lose it yet so don't even think about it. I find it nigh on impossible to lose weight whilst bfing (S has one meagre feed a day now), plus all the other things you have on your plate (sorry for pun!). I'd say GET TO THE GP, go for some nice walks with Alice, don't go to the gym unless it's something you really enjoy doing, and eat lots of fruit and veg. Sending you lots of love xxx

ledkr if you're old fashioned then so am I, I'd have made Imy sit on the floor too.

jane great news at your friend's baby, wow, good size! And wiggles big twins too :)

Sorry about all the poorly babies, I've got the lurgy too, dosing myself up on lemsip ATM. Did a buffet for 17 this morning too so got my feet up recovering! Grin
