Hello everyone!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Emski76 · 17/10/2011 13:00

Sounds like you had a fab birthday weekend Ledkr! I'm glad you enjoyed it, your dh sounds brilliant for organising it all. I'd have to book it myself if it was up to my dh!
Noah is still loving his food but I can remember Ben went through a fussy stage at this age, it was a nightmare! He would only eat ready meals, cheese and yogurt, the number of home cooked meals I threw away are too many to count!

Tad, sorry your birthday wadnt do good, your big 40 will began next year no doubt!

Well girls I have just completely embarrassed myself on Tesco. Noah's buggy fell backwards with the basket of shopping on it and it all smashed on the floor. Noah is fine but I stood cleaning the sauce off everything with wet wipes and crying! The poor manager didn't know what to do with himself when he saw I was crying, and just said 'leave anything thats dirty and don't worry' then disappeared pretty sharp ish! I walked around the store after feeling very sheepish then phoned dh from the car in tears. He promises me we will laugh about it later!

Deliaskis · 17/10/2011 13:06

Hi ladies,

Not really been on over the weekend. We had a nice one though. Done some more packing for the house move, had friends for dinner on Saturday night, and just a family day yesterday. DH and both managed to get jobs for house move done and Claudia sat and played and watched us and we pulled faces at her and made daft noises to keep her amused etc. I don't think she could tell any difference between that and when we actually 'make time' to play with her.

Ledkr yes to bottles being a pain. Claudia always acts like she really has better things to do. Tis v amusing when she squeezes the teat when it has milk in it tho, and it ends up all over her face and hair, she looks a little indignant when that happens. At least she is down to 3-4 a day now. C is on the other hand eating like a horse at the moment. Are you doing mostly BLW?

Yay for those of you who had nice weekends, and boo for those who are poorly/had poorly babies/had no sleep/had otherwise crap weekends etc.

Totally neurotic PFB question here, but it's possible C swallowed a bit of paper on Saturday. I assume I shouldn't be rushing her to the Drs or anything? I didn't because I would have felt like a complete loon, but please say if this in fact a medical emergency.

Dx

Deliaskis · 17/10/2011 13:13

Oh no Emski sorry for your Tescos disaster! I would probably have done the same, try not to worry about it, Tescos are all really impersonal anyway so it's not like they're going to remember.

Borg Solihill is kinda nr Brum, I'm near Manchester but I think I'm the only one in this neck of the woods.

Dx

deadka · 17/10/2011 13:27

delia Shock not paper!! O NO!!! Tis tres toxic for babies!!! Just kidding, S had half the Saturday Telegraph in her nappy today Grin.

ledkr S has one proper feed a day now, and I've started giving her cow's milk Shock I know I know, but she eats incredibly well, anything and everything I put in front of her (sorry Blush), so I reckon she'll survive.

emski that sounds awful, I'd have been crying too, you poor thing. Have a Brew and a sit down.

borg S is still on 3 naps a day, 1.5hrs in the morning, 1.5 at lunchtime then 45 minutes in the afternoon and is knackered at bedtime and sleeps about 11 hours. She's always liked her sleep though.

Just spent £132 in Sainsbury's, am still reeling from the shock! Did have food for a buffet for 17 in there plus ingredients for Christmas cakes, but still, bloody hell!

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 17/10/2011 13:30

delia C will be fine, the paper will have disappeared with thanks to the digestive juices or you may find a bit in her nappy. BTW wait until it's not only paper she is stuffing in her mouth. I have spent many a time fishing worms and spiders out mindees mouths!

emski Hope you are ok after tesco, I have something that may cheer you up. DF and I were in tesco last night, he was arsing about with the trolley running up the aisles and jumping on the trolley (kinda like body surfing). Well the trolley tipped up and it and df were sprawled over the floor Grin. I was laughing for about an hour! Grin

borg Grin at Nates travelling highchair!

Deliaskis · 17/10/2011 13:46

Ta Deadka and jane I thought it was probably not really a thing, ironically Deadka this was also the Saturday Telegraph, it must have been tres tasty this week! Weirdly jane I think I would worry less about worms and bugs as in my slightly addled head I would think they were 'natural' creatures not that far apart from eating other creatures e.g. seafood etc. [random train of thought].

chocoBOO · 17/10/2011 13:58

ledkr I'm up for doing something of you fancy the drive up here. We're busy Fri this week and Mon, Tues next week (and have baby sensory on Weds for an hour) but it'd be fab to meet up otherwise. I'm always up for a trip to the John Lewis cafe in Solihull!

delia I think most of R's nutrition comes from paper. She's just had a right load of random things for lunch, the most nutritious of which was a Dairylea triangle!

deb Does Sabine have her milk from a bottle or a cup? R only has three feeds now but I'm thinking she should have her daytime one at least from a cup. Just tried it though and she is Not Impressed.

ponyo Hope nursery went well. I hung around in the background today while R was There cos the music man was in and I thought I might learn some new songs!

emski Hugs! I had a similar melt down when pregnant when no doctors near our new house would register me. I still go pink when I think about it.

borg Naps are a bit out here too, and night times have been a bit wrong too and I'm wondering if one is causing the other. I'm finding she'll miss the morning one altogether of I let her. I'm trying not to fuss though as I think nursery will totally change her routine anyway.

Right. Better crack on. Have promised myself I won't give R any food out of a jar this week. We're away at the weekend at a christening then off to London so I know she'll live of jars te whole time then. I suddenly got mother's guilt!

hubbard86 · 17/10/2011 15:37

lets see if this one works. I have written 5 posts over the last two days and lost them all.
emski i've done the same thing so don't worry. You can get something called buggy weights which attach to just above the front wheels and help prevent tipping.
[hgrin] at janes dh. I would've been in hysterics too.
Freya still has 5 bottles a day of 6oz as well as 3 meals and 1 snack. Don't know if thats too much or not?

ILovePonyo · 17/10/2011 15:46

Back from nursery, I stayed in the room and filled out a million forms whilst A crawled, played and was generally charming to everyone Grin Feel really pleased that she wasn't clingy at all, we're going back next mon and I'll leave her in there for a little bit whilst I go for a cuppa, woo!

ledkr and choco can I join the meet up?! Was going to go back to my mums again in the next couple of weeks anyway, let me know what days you are thinking of.

emski poor you with the tesco shenanigans, I would have got a proper sweat on if that was me!

delia A loves paper, I don't know why Hmm Today I have had a massive clear out of all of the newspapers/magazines that I'll never read and put them all in the recycling, A looked most disappointed haha.

Borg Grin at'cursing my life' haha, oh and come to Solihull its not far from Newcastle honest Hmm Grin

jane I just laughed at your df falling off the trolley, thats so funny, it'll be one of those things you think of when you're out in public on your own, you think of it and start laughing Grin (if that makes sense!)

Re: food and bottles, I have dropped dd's 10am bottle so now she has bottle at 7am, brekkie about 8ish, then lunch at 11ish, she seems to eat more of her lunch that way (fingers crossed). Then bottle at 1pm-ish, 4pm and tea at 5.30, I might think about dropping the 4pm bottle but she does drink most of it. That was mostly me typing as I thought then, don't know if you all needed to know that!

Hi everyone else, think A is waking up now...

ILovePonyo · 17/10/2011 15:50

Oh yes, forgot - apparently the nursery can't give the babies snacks like rice cakes, baby carrot wotsits etc, only fruit - poor A! How will she cope?!

Emski76 · 17/10/2011 15:51

Thanks guys re Tesco accident, especially to Jane for the story about df, that did make me laugh!

Borg/Choc, Noahs naps are quite changeable which I kind of like as he's starting nursrery next week and I think they'd find it hard to keep to a strict routine. He usually sleeps half hour in morning and one and a half in the afternoon but I imagine he'll go down to one nap soon.

When does R start nursery Choc?

deadka · 17/10/2011 16:23

emski I can't believe N is ready to go down to one nap- Imy didn't until she was about 20 months!!!

choc we don't have any bottles here cheapskate, she has a beaker which she does well with.

ponyo glad to hear A settled in so well at nursery, that'll be a weight off your mind.

jane HAHA to your DF! BTW are you in with a chance this month???

Had Imy's hair cut this week at last but I popped out to change S's nappy at a crucial point and now she has a fringe like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=short+fringe&num=10&um=1&hl=en&biw=1024&bih=454&tbm=isch&tbnid=JD40Azm8NjseuM:&imgrefurl=sabrinascissors.tripod.com/fringes/&docid=PJBCI_S00s5ZyM&imgurl=sabrinascissors.tripod.com/fringes/images/shortfringe5.jpg&w=384&h=579&ei=RUicTpv-K4OKhQe1ouWcBA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=274&vpy=64&dur=2568&hovh=276&hovw=183&tx=90&ty=200&sig=105796713007502188461&sqi=2&page=1&tbnh=102&tbnw=68&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this!!!

OP posts:
Deliaskis · 17/10/2011 16:29

re naps, Claudia's are changing a bit at the mo, but still definitely two. Her morning nap (if she has woken normally at 7ish) is now pushing on to closer to 10 than 9, then she's not ready to have her afternoon nap until 1ish, then she usually has 2 hours, then no late nap anymore.

WeAreBorg · 17/10/2011 17:12

jane Grin at your DF in tescos, you two louts.

emski oh I would have cried then run off without any shopping, that's just the sort of thing that happens to me. I usually avoid said shop for a few weeks then go back but wear a wig and sunglasses.

deadka you see, that makes me worry that N is permanently overtired because he just doesn't seem to sleep much. I do try, I can't really do anything else other than sedate him I like Imys fringe, it's very Star Trek.

delia the Telegraph! Nate only eats reads The Times

Interesting re dropping milk feeds, I don't really know what to do as he still feeds at night, so I've just kept up with all the day ones still. He never seems to have much though.

well see you all later, good luck for mum's scan deadka if I don't have chance to pop on later tonight

Emski76 · 17/10/2011 17:29

Borg, it did go through my mind to leave the shopping, grab Noah and run! It's the knd of thing that always seems to happen to me!

Deb, loving the fringe. I once cut Bens fringe and it turned out like thay. Mil said he looked like a litte refugee! Hence I don't cut his fringe anymore!

Ponyo, Noah hads his third settling in session at nursery tomorrow and I have to leave him for the hour. I'll be the strange woman in Sainsburys (not Tesco) wondering around looking lost! I'm glad A got on well today, it's such a relief isn't it?

Deb, good luck for your mum tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

I am currently sat on the bottom stair with Noah crawling around the hallway pulling all the bags and boots out and generally making a mess. It is quite cute to see though!

Hope you've all had a good day, anything planned for this evening? I plan to chill after boys in bed and to try not to eat a second box of choc fingers. I've made a practice run of choc and pistachio fudge so may have to eat that all in the name if testing!

chocoBOO · 17/10/2011 17:56

ponyo I reckon there's enough room on a meet up for you and A. I'm getting excited now, we need to make this happen! Do nursery provide food or do you have to take it? Ours provides it and it sounds like school dinners!

hubbard I think R probably has the same amount of Milk as Freya, but over fewer feeds. She has 3 of 8oz.

emski R doesn't start until the 7th, although she's booked in for the Friday before too so I can practice getting her there! Can't beleive we're all getting ready to get back to work. Scary!

deb I gave R her milk in a beaker. She drank it but fussed. Guess I'll have to persevere though.

Sounds like the babies are all over with naps. I guess nothing is norm at this age.

emski Chocolate and pistachio fudge. I want I want I want!

Better go as R is eating her way through a pack of baby wipes. I made her lovely lentils for her tea. She wolfed them down!

Bledkr · 17/10/2011 20:33

Hello all.
choc Ill consult my friend and all the other stuff but can pretty much do any day but will combine it with a visit to mates.
Obviously anyone can come i couldnt remember who was near.

jane that sounds funny. Me and my friend used to liven up shopping in Tescos by putting funny things in peoples trolley when they left them.I talking a giant fish,a giant tower of ferero roche and a banana and 2 oranges arranged in an interesting manner Grin

emsk Poor you.I would have been like that pre prozac.I dprobably laugh now. I can beat that tho i went to Asda with Ella tonight for shopping and halloween costumes. We bumped into knobhead and his ow Hmm He spoke and she said hi to Ella but i ended up making a kind of cursing noise like Edina in ab fab, twas so funny.I was glad to be looking fab whilst she was fat and frumpy.

borg i was wetting myself at your post.Dilly moves her standing activity centre easier than her proper walker Grin I love the cursing my life comment.
When i was nursing the Drs quite often hooked us up to iv fluids if we had hangovers.

Dilly hardly sleeps anymore in the day but has another cold so has been very sleepy today even tho its only on me.
I took her to baby group and she managed to get head down in a toy box with her legs in the air,i ran over but she was just having a good rumage.

Deb Im really hoping your mums scan is ok. I have my repeat smear tomorrow am a bit scared,i may kick the nurse in the head if she hurts me like last time Grin

janedoe25 · 17/10/2011 20:34

Glad the babies are settling in nursery.

deb totally in with a chance this month Wink It;s the first month DF has not been working away during the golden time. Only time will tell!
I hope everything is well woth your mum tomorrow, sending my good wishes and thoughts to you and your mum.

chocoBOO · 17/10/2011 20:49

deb Lots of good wishes for your Mum's scan. I have everything crossed for good news.

jane Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh! Fingers crossed my love x

ledkr I'm always getting called back for repeat smears. In fact I'm probably due one as didn't have one while pregnant. I have kicked several nurses in my time. Just let me know re: dates.

R is being a nightmare to settle at the moment. I'm not sure what to do, just came back downstairs from settling her in tears. DP thinks we should just go to her whenever she cries, but that's 5 or 6 times a night at the moment (as well as taking ages to settle in the first place) I'm just so worried about going back to work while she's like this.

deadka · 17/10/2011 21:01

Thanks everyone for best wishes for my mum's results. I'll let you know tomorrow what they are and what the plan is.

ledkr hope your yukky smear is ok tomorrow. ROFL at Dilly head down in toy box!!

jane woohoo!! Everything crossed for you. When is AF due?

OP posts:
ReastieHorrorShow · 17/10/2011 21:05

choc that sounds like how alice has been recently at night. We are starting cc again tonight after the illness blip. We have given her calpol just incase as we feel so bad about last time. Last night alice woke up at 11 and decided she wanted to play until 1am Hmm

deb and led hope the scans/smears go OK. deb does your mum get the results tomorrow or is it the actual scan (or both) ?

jane I Grin at the thought of your df doing that in tesco serves him right falling into everything and ledkr love the ideaof someone finding a giant fish in their trolley with no idea ho it got there. Which made me wonder what tesco you go to - we have no giant fish in ours Hmm

Sleeping wise alice is up and down with day naps. She maybe has 3 naps if I'm lucky but sometimes they only last 10/15 mins

ems I would have done the same thing. I hope you feel brighter now

borg so that was you in the wig and sunnies I saw last week then? Wink

deb love the fringe. I once attempted to cut my sisters hair when she was little and it looked so ridiculously wonky that she ended up with a fringe like that to make it straight Grin

ponyo glad the settling in went well.

Had a lovely day today meeting up with a friend and her dd.

ILovePonyo · 17/10/2011 21:16

Aah choco thats horrible for you, no advice just hoping she settles for you tonight. I've had to leave A to cry herself to sleep in the day recently, if I'm having a shower for example, and its usually only 10mins but I hate it. I'm lucky she has a dummy b'cos that settles her at night, hopefully someone will be along with something useful to help you soon... Oh and the nursery provides all food, sounds well nice, things like tagine Shock I asked if I could take in my own rice cakes for A, was told no Shock Shock

jane eek! No pressure though Wink

deb I meant to say earlier I hope your mums scan is ok, hope you are too. Lurve the fringe Grin

ledkr Grin at Dils in the toy box, I can just imagine that! Hmm to ex and ow, yuk. Keep me in the loop about potential meet up dates too?

emski good luck tomo! Does your sainsburys have a cafe or starbucks? You should get yourself settled with a cuppa and a magazine :)

It is freezing here and pissing it down, A is in a vest, babygrow and 1.5 tog grobag - we tried to put her in the 2.5 tog one but the hole for her head could actually fit over her head, decided not to use it til she's a bit bigger Grin Hmm

deadka · 17/10/2011 21:17

reastie was just wondering where you were today! Good luck with CC, lets hope she gets it and gets it quick this time round. My mum gets her results today, BTW, she'll see her consultant and discuss further treatment at the same time.

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 17/10/2011 21:18

Good luck with the cc tonight reastie.

I hope your smear is ok ledkr I bloody hate those things - I would wear some nice pointy shoes incase the nurse hurts you.

deb Af shoould be due anytime from the 28th oct, no idea whe it will show up though. This month it was 11 days late Shock.

Bledkr · 17/10/2011 21:22

Oh reastie good luck with the cc. Dilly i very hit and miss at the moment (she cried just as i typed that) we do shsh pat when possible but often end up feeding her just to get her to sleep. We have had 11 hr nights followed by 4 wake ups and an early start.no rhyme or reason.I think she is worse when has acold like now. Oh she settled herself but its not a good sign is it???

Im watching the Kardashian wedding but dh is spoiling it by taking the piss.

choc thanks for that, was it for "borderline changes" thats what mine is but i cant help but be scared and im such a baby with smears so god knows what id do if i needed further treatment.Last time the nurse really hurt me,i have a tilted uterus so hard to do but she just kept digging. Im taking 2 Syndol before cos they make me feel stoned Grin Ill be having a Wine in the evening Grin
