That's fab buck I won't throw shoes at you.

cycle I thought he wasn't snuggly / warm enough so added blankets which worked for the first part of the night. Possibly he wasn't massively tired as he had about four hours in naps test playing catch up from the night before. He doesn't seem in pain as is calm as soon as he's picked ip unless hungry, but he seems to have dropped a feed in the night, partly because it wasnt the temperature he likes but that's fine as I wanted him to lose one and when I offered boob we found I'm now empty, and he didn't want the warm bottle when it came. He does have two teeth now so could be that but again doesn't seem in pain. Might try calpol tonight, but he just purses his lips if he doesn't want it. Could just be all his development keeping him up. At one point he had somehow wriggled out of his sleeping bag and underneath that his legs weren't in his sleepsuit.... Again. Might try a longsleeve vest tonight. I left hom with dh and sobbed downstairs at 5am. Was a little sad my milks gone even tho I knew it would, and frustrated about the crap nights. Then he gets up at 745 in a great mood and I melt.

kittycatcat · 21/10/2011 08:29

Oops sorry frak I'm still waking up

Cyclebump · 21/10/2011 09:08

Oh Kitty, sounds hellish. If it's the teeth thing it may settle. H had two good nights when the second one broke through but I'm wondering if more are coming as it seems to be the days directly before a breakthrough that he's the most unsettled. Can your other half help over the weekend?

Oh and on surviving sans iron... I work in the 'media', it's all jeans and t-shirts, while DP works in trade and I'll be damned if I'm ironing stuff that's going to be trashed by the end of the day! Smile I'm a fab ironer after four years in the air cadets but I just don't need one at home. Most modern fabrics are fairly wrinkle proof and we never go anywhere posh enough for DP to wear a shirt. For my sister's wedding he had to have the suit dry cleaned anyway so we sent the shirt with it to be ironed.

Hurray for you Buck, long may it continue!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 21/10/2011 09:37

Baby I has slept on his front pretty much since he was born, although when hewas newborn I wouls put himon his side, then since he has been able to roll he also sleeps on his back sometimes as well.

We do have an iron and an ironing board but the last time it was used was 30th July 2007 - the day I got married, I needed to iron my top!

Cyclebump · 21/10/2011 10:13

Awwwww, Mr Handsome just permitted a (closely supervised) stroking/pulling of fur session. H was delighted to be allowed to touch the fascinating pusscat. The Fat One is a little antisocial so I won't encourage him to pursue her but Mr Handsome is a total mummy's boy Grin

I'm sooo tired, hmmmm, maybe I should pick up some chocolate when i pop out later...

GlaikitFizzogOnaNeepyLantern · 21/10/2011 10:40

Hmm I have an eye yesterday in half an hour and b has decided its sleepy time. I an going to have to lift him aren't I.

In other news dh has managed to extract himself from the playmat with only minor injuries!

BuckminsterFullerene · 21/10/2011 13:43

F's suddenly got a massively bleeding gum. He was chewing on a spoon (I'd just given him some calpol - he's got another cold and his temp is slightly up), and suddenly... BLOOD Shock

Now, after a tiny freak out, it does seem to be his top front right incisor coming through (tooth #6, top front left & laterals have already cut). And now that I think about it, its strange that gums don't normally bleed.

So, this is ok, right?

Actually, I think it's stopped now. I might not wash the muslin till after halloween though.

chillikat · 21/10/2011 13:47

Loved your video Fizz :) though had the sound off as M was asleep.

I'm another non-ironer unless I something really needs it. DH irons his own shirts on a Sunday night. I have been known to do them on occasion if he's busy doing something else and I want to snuggle on the sofa with him watching TV in the evening instead of him ironing.

We seem to be having more wake ups in a night at the moment. Think it was 3 last night but at least she's going back OK after a feed. In other news she's just self settled for a nap on our bed - it involved lots of head shaking and feet kicking but then she dropped off. I might surround her with pillows, put the monitor on and go chop stuff for curry tonight (or make cake?).

Have a good and sleep filled weekend everyone.

Cyclebump · 21/10/2011 14:02

Buck, you're not alone with the gory teething!

H got blood blisters over both his teeth shortly before they emerged, but with the second one he bit down on some toast and screamed, I looked and his gum was bleeding and the blister was gone. Didn't bleed long and his mood improved drastically once the blister had popped.

I think we've got a clue as to his sleeplessness last night, he has been farting like a trooper all through his scrambled egg/fruit and toast lunch. Hmm

BuckminsterFullerene · 21/10/2011 15:26

He does seem much happier now cycle - he's just munched down a sweetcorn puree sandwich too (check me out: I sliced one slice of bread to half thickness, to make teeny tiny sandwich fingers!)

And doing BLW when you cut your first teeth at 4 months means very sore fingers. He's got red sore bits on his fingers & thumbs, especially now that he's doing the holding-the-food-in-while-I-chew thing.

And we don't iron either! Grin

Starshaped · 21/10/2011 17:50

Another non ironer here. I mean I have got one, it just doesn't come out the cupboard very often. I was like a woman possessed when I was waiting for P's arrival though. I ironed all her little baby clothes and even went as far as doing all the muslins Blush. Obviously that didn't last!

Still no teeth here. Can't say I'm in a huge hurry for them to arrive if it means blood blisters, bleeding and sleepless nights!

GsyGacheFiend · 21/10/2011 20:34

The main reason I do the ironing is because I do it in front of the TV. Most other housework is done on a "shit, someone's coming round and I'm too embarressed to open the door basis".

JKSLtd · 21/10/2011 20:45

I don't mind ironing actually! Esp in front of my choice of tv + a glass of wine :)

M was up at 4.30 this morning and would not resettle - well without feeding her & it was freezing so i took her into bed with us, fed her there then we all got some more sleep. Haven't had her in bed with us for ages so it was kind of nice.
Have put the heating on constant, but only low so hopefully she will stay asleep tonight.

BuckminsterFullerene · 21/10/2011 20:54

Ha! Gsy I've literally just cleaned the bathrooms because my sis is coming down! (disclaimer: I would have done it eventually, we'd just have lived with it for a few more days!)

Although I'm really excited about hiring a rug doctor this half term!

MrsWajs · 21/10/2011 21:22

Bathroom cleaning is also on my list of things to do tomorrow!! Ironing, however, is not, nor will it ever be!! I also do own one but don't use it Grin

Buck V. impressed with your sweetcorn sandwich :)

Well I am feeling like crap today, think I pulled a muscle in my back yesterday trying to pick up R in her car seat Hmm at the time it was bloody sore, felt like something had popped or pinged and felt like I'd been winded, today I feel a bit like I'm getting a chest infection?!?! Am wondering if I've damaged a rib or something or it might just be coincidental. Might be a trip to MIU tomorrow if I feel worse! :(

GlaikitFizzogOnaNeepyLantern · 21/10/2011 21:28

DH does the ironing :o I drink the wine!
TFI Friday! I am no longer sole care giver for 2 whole days!
We have our protrait session tomorrow! B has new outfits, my favourite being an elf suit!

I'm off to have a Baileys or six Hope everyone has a fab weekend.

Cyclebump · 22/10/2011 06:00

Another day has started at 5.30am because H insists it's morning time. At least he slept though. I put him to bed at 7.15pm and apart from a shushing and back rubbing at 10pm he slept til 5.20am! It's good as my music school is on half term so DP's working this morning and rugbying all afternoon. I'm so jealous of people who get a bit of a break at the weekend with their DP/H's help, I certainly don't Sad

BuckminsterFullerene · 22/10/2011 06:20

Morning.

I'm with you in envy-camp, cycle. DH works weekends, which we need so we can both work ft but have pt childcare, but still, I'm so looking forward to a few days together this week.

We didn't get a repeat sleep, but only 1 wakeup at 2, so still amazing compared to the every 2 hours routine we had got stuck in. Hoping he'll go back down for a long morning nap in a bit..

Cyclebump · 22/10/2011 09:06

My sleepiness has been snatched away! Someone broke into the animal park next to my house and killed a wallaby! Shock I'm completely disgusted. It's not got any real security but the animals are locked up at night. I just don't understand why someone would do that. They took the head so I'm wondering if it was rugby related, the Australian team the wallabies are playing in the final tomorrow...

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/10/2011 09:14

I'll join you Cycle and Buck. Dh builds the extension on a Saturday so I look after the boys Mon - Sat, and by Sat night I am knackered so my chill out is a glass of wine, Strictly Come Dancing and a takeaway.

I think I'll take the boys to the farmers Market and buy copious amounts of poncey but delicious food.

I hope you feel better today MrsW. Those bloody baby car seats have a lot to answer for. My legs are constantly covered in bruises from banging it against my legs. I can't wait for I to go up to the next sized seat - although that then means buying ds2 the next one up.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/10/2011 09:16

First of all, you live next to an animal park?! Shock
secondly, what is bloody wrong with people? They took the head? Shock

Cyclebump · 22/10/2011 09:24

I live next to a small, but beautiful, animal park. It's a public park that also has animal enclosures for monkeys, wallabies, Mara, exotic birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, chickens, goats, pigs, funny squirrel things and a small reptile house that's never open.

It's free, apart from about £1 to get into the reptile house and also has a playground with a zip wire and a maze. There's a small cafe too.

It's a fabulous local resource and I love living about 100 yards from the entrance as it saves my sanity when I'm bored and fancy a walk with H.

Here's the story.

Cyclebump · 22/10/2011 10:17

Argh! I of course meant the wallabies played in the third place playoff on Friday and the killing was on Wednesday so I thought it might be for that. Australia are not in the final Blush

GlaikitFizzogOnaNeepyLantern · 22/10/2011 11:47

I have loads of little bruises all over my legs and I couldn't work out where they came from¡¡¡

fraktious · 22/10/2011 12:31

OMG DS was just pooing as I took off his nappy and it looked so bizarre! My MIL now things I'm crazy because I laughed hysterically at poo.

He also made a second effort after the nappy was off and he was all clean Hmm less hysterical.
