Oooh, new thread. Just marking my place.

I'm super tired today. Couldn't get to sleep again last night. Anybody know if there are any sleeping aids that you can take when BF?

Will come back and read through the end of the last thread when I feel less zombie like (sometime next year at this rate...)

kittycatcat · 02/09/2011 10:36

LOVE the title.Grin

How about lavender oil on your pillow star?

I've bought Sam to work and a new girl I have never met before is all over him and allowed him to put her finger in his mouth. She said it's ok my hands are clean. I don't bloody care. Who does she think she is ?!

MrsWajs · 02/09/2011 11:45

Looks like every other day is set to be a scream fest at chez Wajs :( It's really becoming a bit wearing, R is back to bottle refusing again and is now screaming when ever I put the bottle near her Confused same time every day! Gaaaaaaaaaaaah

Good thread title Wink

Sassy20 · 02/09/2011 12:24

Can't believe how quickly we get through threads! I think this is one of my favourite titles Smile

GlaikitFizzog · 02/09/2011 12:25

Hello! B finally went back down at 10 and is srill sleeping!! I want to go out!

Star, have youtried an eye mask and ear plugs? Sometimes just dulling any light or sounds can help you drift off. No caffiene after 7, hot milky drink beofre bed, bath with lavender oil too. Soft music as you drift off might help too. I really feel for you.

MrsWajs · 02/09/2011 12:28

Ok, so it was just a poo Blush don't know why she needs to make such a big deal of it though!

chillikat · 02/09/2011 12:50

We're just back form our first swim-a-song - M is fast asleep in the car seat still and I'm knackered. Didn't like getting told off by the instructor for not swimming on my back with her. I think it's physically impossible for me to get on my back with M on my chest when the water is shoulder height (I'm not the tallest and was already on my tiptoes for the class!) Poor M got dunked a few times but there were no tears and even smiles.

Re: thinking baby is in bed - it's usually DH that thinks that. Usually mistaking me for M and trying to pick me up to put me in the crib! :o

fraktious · 02/09/2011 12:51

sassy it's cos we chat about crap. Literally....

mumtomoley · 02/09/2011 13:10

chilli I have probs with that manoeuvre too! G likes swimming but has a bittle of a wobble with that one as I think he doesnt feel very safe. I'm obviously rubbish at floating as he ends up half underwater!

moley I think I'm going to try it in shallower water when we go to the public pool sometime. I love floating on my back generally. She's still asleep - 2 hour nap so far. I suspect she might be a bit hungry when she finally wakes up.

caramellokoalalover · 02/09/2011 15:58

Yep fizz, size 0 in Aus is 9-12mths...but like here, sizing varies massively so don't leave it till 9mths to get it all out as it might fit sooner. S is wearing some 00 stuff now but still 0-3mth clothes too Confused.

Oh and sorry, it has turned into a perfect bikini day here afterall. A glorious start to Autumn. Hope everywhere else is doing as nicely.

Cyclebump · 02/09/2011 16:12

Hmmm, good title, got told this morning that H was too hot and likely to burn in the shade Hmm and that he was 'enormous' while walking round the local park by some random woman. Cock off, just cock off. Sigh

Sassy20 · 02/09/2011 16:45

Why are some people so rude and think they can tell you how to look after your baby?! I hope you told her where to go Cycle.

I laughed out loud at your comment about talking crap literally Frak Grin

kittycatcat · 02/09/2011 17:31

chilli Grin at dh trying to put you in the crib. London has been a success. On the train home with s asleep in his buggy. Dh out on the p tonight so hope s is on his best behaviour for me.

This thread title is v apt eh!

DairyBeetle · 02/09/2011 20:59

Loving the new thread title the key change is very Boyzone Grin

Star I've tried all sorts over the years and the only thing that's worked and not left me feeling out of sorts has been Horlicks >finds dressing gown and slippers...< If you do find yourself laid in bed not able to drop off for ages, get up and read a book downstairs, make a milky drink, then try again. I find staying in bed makes things worse.

Cycle I haven't heard the phrase 'Cock off' in ages, made me snigger I'll admit! I do Hmm at some people, an elderly lady on the bus yesterday looked at S and said "He looks a good sturdy baby. Is he well behaved? Yes? Yes, very good" all I could do was smile and nod while thinking to myself sturdy=chunky looking and how on earth can a not quite 5 month old be badly behaved?!

I'm going to have some cheese cake and find myself some Wine, S has had a horrid day teething and I've now got a headache and Calpol smeared on my arms and boobs...oh the glamour!

Cyclebump · 02/09/2011 21:08

Ooh, Dairy, have you tried Horlicks Light chocolate flavour? I normally shun light and diet products but it's fab, mmmmm.

Enjoy the cheesecake Smile

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/09/2011 22:11

I thought the key change was more Westlife, you know, the bit where they stand up off their stools Grin

Star - I've been having insomnia after the night feed as well. Do you know if there is a trigger? I know mine is when I have something important to get done the next day, I just cant stop thinking about it and I keep myself awake. So wherever possible I try to get whatever needs sorting out done before I go to bed.

I took I out in the pram today for only the second time today! I've always slinged him, but it was so bloody hot here today that I just didn't fancy slinging him whilst we went round town. He was fine in there! Because I've always slinged him I was worried that he would hate the pram. I should have guessed he'd be fine. He's so laid back - just like his brothers were.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/09/2011 22:52

Lovely thread title Frak :)

ILike - I've just snorted wine at 'the bit where they stand up off their stools' Grin

I sometimes struggle to drop off after a night feed - I've actually got a hypnosis CD on my iPhone which I listen to sometimes and that sends me off in about 2 minutes.

Am I strange that I don't mind people commenting on T (or DS1 for that matter)? As long as people don't stick fingers in his mouth kitty OMG how did you not stamp on her?
A lady who DS1 started talking to on the way home from the park yesterday lifted up the big muslin I had over T's buggy to peek - without asking - and he had woken up and gave her the biggest grin. Grin I am trying to think back to when DS1 was little and whether I minded then, I really can't remember.
Definitely wouldn't appreciate people telling me he was too hot though. Er, and you would know how, exactly?

T is asleep - bit more of an effort to get him down tonight but he was asleep before 10pm.

Cyclebump · 03/09/2011 08:16

Oh. My. God. H went down at 8.30pm and apart from a baby nightmare at 9.20 that needed a shushing and a short cuddle he slept until 5! He then went back in the cot by 5.20 and slept until 7.10!! And I didn't wake in a panic so actually got some sleep.

Plus he went for his naps in the cot yesterday. Best £30 we've ever spent is that cot. Ok, so it was £60 including a new mattress but god bless posh charity shops Grin

The finger in mouth thing kitty, I would have pulled the look of death!

Sassy20 · 03/09/2011 08:16

Very happy today. It was L's second night in her own room and she slept from 9pm to 7.45am with no wake ups!!! A big smile on her face this morning when I went in. Smile

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 03/09/2011 08:20

Much better night here! T slept 10pm - 5am, quick feed and back to sleep until 8am!
And no nocturnal activity from DS1 who I can just hear stirring now Smile

Cycle/sassy - yay for H and L too!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/09/2011 09:43

A very odd nights sleep here.

I went to bed too late so was overtired and then hot and couldn't sleep. Then I heard a baby crying, but it took me a while to realise it wasn't I. It must have been a neighbours baby.

Ds2 then woke up. Not sure why, he has been doing it most nights this week.

Dh comes to bed and we can both hear the baby crying again. Proper distressed crying for ages. So much so it makes my stomach flip and feel sick. I was close to getting up, finding out where the baby was and offering them some help.

Baby stops, I drop off, I wakes for a feed Hmm

He feeds and goes back down. I finally sleep.

God it was a frustrating night. I think I'll be having a lunchtime snooze today!

I don't mind people commenting on I, but I remember getting very annoyed about it with ds1. I think I just learned to smile and ignore!

Starshaped · 03/09/2011 10:09

How bizarre that you could hear the other baby crying so loudly. Have any of your immediate neighbours got a baby ILTMIMI?

In the grand scheme of things, P didn't have that bad a night. Three wake ups between 7:30pm - 6:30am, one of which only involved a quick shush and pat and the other two involved short feeds. I on the other hand couldn't sleep again. Went to bed at 11pm and couldn't get to sleep until 2am. So frustrating.

Thanks for all your suggestions but nothing seems to be helping me nod off. I know it's all in my head and am convinced that the reason I'm not sleeping is because I'm worrying about not sleeping. Think I need to get myself some positive mental attitude from somewhere.

Weather looks rubbish here today. Think it might be a day for catching up on housework. Thrilling stuff!

DairyBeetle · 03/09/2011 10:59

It's housework day here today too Sad we've got a house inspection on Tuesday (renting is a PITA at times) so running round trying to get everything clean while DH's contribution is 'sorting the paper work' apparently this is more useful than mopping a floor or cleaning a bathroom...Hmm

S had a bad night, it's quite awhile since he had such a bad one actually. He went down well at about 7.30ish but then had a nightmare around 10pm just as I was going to bed. He didn't even wake up properly but he took some boob and went back to sleep. Woke again around 10.30 with a nightmare again, shushed asleep again only to wake again by 11 so I brought him in with us after a quick nappy change. He then decided it was playtime so it was a good half an hour till he settled and boob didn't work so he wasn't hungry. I then lost count of the amount of times he woke up. I think it's his teeth, I hope there's a tooth soon so there's something to show for all the pain he's in!
