Hello. Think i was first to deliver off the September EDD thread so waving to see if anyone else out there yet to join me :)
Had my 2nd DD on 26aug by C-sec. We now home but struggling with BF and baby lost 10% body weight in 3days. Started to top up with formula in syringe to try give cracked. Bleeding nipples a rest, but milk is starting to drip out now leaking everywhere! Hoping for a better night tonight after 3nights of hourly feeds and snatching 2-3hrs of sleep.
Anyone else struggling too?

ssmile, I've ended up putting scratch mitts back on her again and she sucks on those at times.

I've received my MN parcel :)

Minkyjj · 17/11/2011 23:03

Evening ladies. Haven't been on the thread for ages but checked in and glad to see all going well for most. Lo is 9 weeks now and gorgeous. Had a rough few weeks with dh and other things. Struggling to cope with juggling everything and have had a bad throat but hope the worst is over.

ssmile · 18/11/2011 03:13

OMG babe just slept 7hts :o this is not a brag but wonderment and reassurance to those whose babes aren't. I felt like i went to hell and back at times with DD1 who was most awful sleeper for four years. This babe I threw rule book out have done what's felt right fed on demand, co slept a lot, cuddled a lot carried a lot and her sleep has just got better and better. I almost feel vindicated after all the 'advice' was given over DD1 and the failure I felt as sleep deprivation effected every aspect of my life then, I lost friends over it &dropped a grade at work to cope, and my DH &i nearly split. Big fingers crossed the sleep keeps better for all of us.

minkyj hugs hope you feeling bit better now.
100 scratch mits gd idea but my Lo just pulls them off won't keep them on.

Ssmile that's fab sleep. :) and I didn't read it as a brag even before you wrote it wasn't I was amazed :)

Pumpkin was loads better yesterday eve for me. Gave her a bath then fed and she was asleep at 10! Not for a long time but I got my head down then. In on my 3rd feed since then but I think she may have gone off now to put her down. Fingers crossed.

100years · 18/11/2011 05:11

Oh yes and i do use socks instead of scratch mitts most of the time tbh.

sebs71 · 18/11/2011 07:36

That's great, SSmile, and encouraging for us all as you're in front in terms of having the oldest LO on this thread! Boo to your DH's mum for not coming to your wedding??? Families are great aren't they? (tongue in cheek) I'm just grateful my LO has a great Grandad as my Dad has been terrific, and despite being 73 with a dodgy shoulder, he's such a help! He's back of his holiday today, and I've really missed him popping in to see her! He's got an operation on his shoulder in December so will probably stay with us for a couple of days to recover, which will be nice to have the company in the daytime.

Minky - hope things do get better for you, sounds like you have had a rough time.

100 - well done on your evening on your own with LO. Hope you have a good train journey today and a great weekend away.

LO got unsettled yesterday evening after the jabs, and started having a bit of a temp, so we gave her some calpol, and she settled well. Slept till 1, then managed to rock her back till around 2, fed, the she slept till 5, but has been grumbling and moaning ever since. She's just in her chair now, and fallen back asleep, but of course, it's time for me to get up! Don't know what it is about 5am, but no matter what time she feeds in the night, she wakes up around then and finds it hard to settle afterwards. Ah well, at least she's going longer between feeds, and hopefully soon, we'll get to 7 hours like Ssmile's LO!

ssmile · 19/11/2011 09:10

Whispering she did it again .....slept 7pm-2am..... is this the magic 12wk change point???

Hope u all have gd wends. We may attempt to take our DD1 stablisers off her bike this wend. She has excellent balance and wants the next size bike up but we would prefer her to ride her little 12" wheel one first with out help. Could be tears n tantrums :o just hope its not raining we've had some horrid rainy grey days in SW lately.

My aldi nappies &wipes are on test now. The sensitive wipes seem fine good secure lid, the nappies seem vsimilar to pampers in design but the size the sent she has nearly grown out of on the weight so they seem too small on Lo. How the others doing on them? Where are we supposed to post the reviews?

sebs well done expressing for that long!! (i know i would not have had the patience to do that!)

ssmile whispering back- wow with the sleep!!

got my new phone yay, but its slow on the internet and hasnt yet managed o load up the thread, booo! so wont b on hre so often now :-(

lo had 1st injections yesterday, he's huge compared to thers his age who look teeny in comparison! he is in 6-9month trousers tho & has just about grown out of his 3-6month tops! 10weeks old today :-)

LoveBeingAFirework · 19/11/2011 12:10

Morning all

Nappies have arrived, mnhq told me to slow down when I asked for a feedback thread Blush

Ds slept from 6:15 to 2:15 they only problem is it was in his Moses basket in the living room and lying on his front Sad. I had fallen asleep I feel so guilty. We were watching a film and normally he'd wake between 9-10pm and I'd go to bed then. Do cause we were watching a film I thought I just leave him till he woke up and we both fell asleep and ds woke us up at 2:15.

feralgirl · 19/11/2011 14:39

Love, I let DD sleep on her front. It's one of the reasons why she'll do 7 hour stretches of sleep at night. I figure she's healthy and strong and she'll be able to roll over by herself any minute anyway. I know it's not ideal but hey.

I left DD propped up on the sofa yesterday while I went to grab her bouncy chair and she fell off the sofa, then I felt very guilty! She was fine but I won't be doing it again, that's for sure Blush

Had the interview for the new job yesterday which I thought went really well but my boss didn't call last night so now all my confidence has completely evaporated Sad I also saw the HV about PND this week; she was great, gave me some books and is arranging for some local counselling organisation to call me.

Jimmi Shock at 6-9month trousers! You must be producing full-on gold top milk! Grin

LoveBeingAFirework · 19/11/2011 15:48

Feral - I've always let him nap on his front since I realised lying him on my front instantly calmed him and ge nodded off. I just can't bring myself to do it at might though, once he can turn over that's different though.

candr · 19/11/2011 15:58

LoveBeing and Feral, my LO is the same, will sleep really well on front during day but keeps waking up at night on back, If I was confident enough to leave him on front he would sleep in crib but co sleeps with me at the mo, he has good neck muscles and can hold head up and turn it but until he can roll am a bit nervous. We are at inbetween stage with clothes, lots of 0-3 don't fit but 3-6 are too big especially trousers.
Feral, hope you get good news about job - fingers crossed for you

100years · 19/11/2011 19:22

Train journey was good thanks :) fed her, she chattered then fell asleep :) no worries :)

How is ur LO now sebs?

Ssmile excellent stuff :) I've got 2 weeks till 12 weeks, well just under 2 weeks. Fingers crossed we have a longer sleep then. She did go 5 hours last night! Wonder how often I'll get that.

Yay for new phone but boo that it's slower.

Blinking heck to an 8 hr stretch of sleep firework :-O

Feral good luck with the job and glad LO is ok after little fall, they do these things.

Nice weekend so far but I'm knackered and so far have has 2 muffins and a bagel from bagel Nash, a linzer biscuits from costa coffee since yesterday morning. I'm not hopeful for Monday nights weigh in! Lol.

Pumpkin has had a few more little meltdowns she's certainly letting us know when she's hungry but I don't think it's all hunger to be honest. Anyway we're having a chilled out evening in the hotel room before my OH does his race tomorrow.

jimmijam · 20/11/2011 19:57

fera dont worry about sofa incident, its not like you'll do it again-and im sure we've all been there. wen dd was a baby i let her sit up in her moses basket which was on a moses basket stand. i was sat on sofa next to her. out she fell. think i cried more than she did tho, rang nhs direct. she was/is fine :-) but i learnt from it xx

mmmm sleep
glad train journey was good 100 !!

just sold some bits on ebay, wish theyd pay quick (as in next few mins), esp those who bid as the auction ended so i can get them posted and out of the way on way home from school run 2moro morning! just me being impatient tho & wanting 2 b organised i suppose. not their fault

not sure if i said but 2 days ago i finally got my lie in! 10.30am, bliss!

ooh x factor time!

candr · 20/11/2011 20:45

DS doesn't seem very well as having colic crying fits during day as well as night, am using gripe water now and he has done lot of poos (only went every 3 days before) Really hope he sleeps tonight as am knackered. Need to work out how to use e.bay for some reason seem a bit scared of it. Love the idea of a lie in! Have DM and my grandad visiting tommorow so lots of extra cuddles for DS

Jojo1983 · 20/11/2011 21:36

Evening ladies
Goodies arrived from Aldi and even though LO is only 6 weeks he is already growing out of size 2 nappies (little fattie) so this will be the last lot of size 2 we will be using!
Ssmile how do you get your little one to sleep for so long at night? Mine still wakes twice for a fed which isn't that bad (bottle fed)
100 Whoohooo for your new phone which one did you get in the end?
Jimmi glad you finally got your lie in I got one too today as OH took LO downstairs and i slept until 10 but then againw e was out last night and didnt get in until 1 lol
Feral when my sister was little she went head first through the tele and shes fine so don't beat yourself up over it.

LO cradle cap is slowly getting better with a mixture of detanox shampoo and baby oil.
Had some lovely family photos done yesterday by OH;s father got some really lovely ones which will be made into our christmas cards and calenders for the familys christmas presents.

Anyone elses LO formula fed? Just wondering how much they drink and how often?

sebs71 · 20/11/2011 22:23

just a quick one to answer jojo, will post tomorrow more...my LO is 9 weeks and on 180ml about 5 to 6 times a day. goes about 4 hours in between feeds in day...

ssmile · 21/11/2011 01:20

jojo I'm not doing anything special I think Lo is just ready to sleep longer due to age. she is 12wks now, only breastmilk but feeds a lot from 3-7pm its every hour for 5-8min feed. her feeds have always been short. bath with big sis around 6.30pm, dimly lit room change into sleep suit, kick on bed, then feed, cuddle 20min and put in cot next to my bed. today she didn't get much nap time as weekend we out n about more so she crashed out asleep on my lap at 6.30pm I tried to feed her 8pm but she wouldn't wake so I put her in cot. I've now got try get her to resettle in cot after 1am feed as its still very hit n miss. last night after 2.30am feed she could not settle very windy so ended up just sitting semi reclined and she slept on her tum on top me. I

OP posts:
ssmile · 21/11/2011 01:23

She sleeps in sleeping bag on a fleece blanket which when I'm feeding her I take the blanket out of her crib sit on it to warm up then put it back in crib just before I put her down so she has warm bed :)

Bah, didn't get the job so I'm feeling very Sad today. On the bright side, had I got it, I would probably have done quite a lot of work to prepare for going back and would also have gone back when DD is 6mo. Now I'm thinking I'm going to wait as long as I possibly can and do absolutely nothing even remotely work related beforehand.

DD got DS's cold so she's been a bit grim the last few nights but last night was much better. She was in bed at 8pm, woke for a quick feed and poo at 3am then back to sleep until 7.30. Just as well really as I would probably have cried when my boss called to tell me the bad news otherwise!

Shock at Jojo's sister headbutting the TV! That is some impressive injury!

sebs71 · 21/11/2011 15:21

Ssmile ? well done on the continued good sleeping. Hope the stabilisers being taken off went well!

Jimmi ? yes, took some patience to express several times a day, and now I?ve stopped, feels like a big weight taken off my shoulders. And, will also be nice to finally get rid of the rash on my face after about 15 months... (As can take antibiotics for it now). Sounds like you have a big baby there!!! And, good news about the lie-in!!! YAY :) (And, who keeps voting for Janet??? Amelia shouldn?t be in the bottom two!)
Feral ? glad HV was useful for you. Good luck with the counselling organisation... that sounds really positive. Sorry about the job... but as you said, you can have longer with your LO?s now and less to stress about.
100 ?well done on a good train journey... what race is your OH in? LO is much better thanks. Seemed fine the next day after the jabs.
LO seems to be going about 6 to 7 hours between feeds after the evening feed now :) Hoping this keeps up. Although last night she was grizzly and doing aerobics in her basket from 2 till 4.30... but didn?t seem to wake up much ... but kept me up instead. Chaos in the morning... scaffolders came (we?re having the render on the outside of the house taken off and repointed ? the snow pulls it all off... so it?ll take some sandblasting ? so it?s going to be a messy few weeks) and needed OH?s car moving ... only he?s gone off-shore today (to oil platform) so left 5am (has a taxi to the airport) and took his car keys with him! Thankfully they seem to have managed the scaffold around the car... just hope he can get it out tomorrow!

LO seems to be staying more awake in the day too now (although she?s asleep now). Getting a high chair and swing delivered this week ? the high chair goes right back so is ok for newborns! Just wanted something where?s she?s at our level when I?m cooking in the kitchen or when we?re all sitting at the dinner table. Also, had to get a crib as she?s getting way too big for Moses Basket but haven?t room to move her cot into our room, and really want to keep her with us for 6 months. So an expensive weekend !

ssmile · 21/11/2011 20:56

Thats fab sleep sebs vsimilar pattern to my Lo she is unsettled 2-4am gets vwindey lots wiggling.
feralgirl sorry you didn't get your job, hope you enjoy your extended mat leave instead.

my DH came home yet more redundancies to come at work.25% already gone in last two years now yet another 15% of staff to go. its double edge sword each time he has kept his job but his work load keeps going up, he regually doesn't see both girls in the week or only for 5mins in morning. when I go back to work it will be vhard juggling it all as yet again I will be the one fitting an equally stressful job but around childcare. Hohum at least we both have jobs feel luckly for that at least, its tough time for lots of families and we are comparatively ok with two incomes. I just hate seeing my DH so stressed we have had last two Xmases with redundancy hanging over his head.

Sorry about the job feral. I've got to look for a new job as put it off when I found out about being pg. Just not sure when to start looking, really don't want to go back to my old job but also don't know when to start looking Confused

Fingers crossed for lots of sleep tonight, dd has been a pain recently.

Going to get ds weighted tomorrow it's been four weeks so no idea how much he is now.

Tomorrow is also the first anniversary of my amazing daddy passing away Sad dh has the day off and going to go for lunch with mum and try and keep her busy.

LoveBeingAFirework · 22/11/2011 16:47
